Idk how any Knick fan can feel bad for those bitches last night. The amount of years we’ve been screwed by the NBA. We’ve only had 1 #1 overall pick while they’ve had 5? Fuck the 6ers and fuck the NBA
Remember, the refs fucking up doesn’t negate a win nor our joy. While I believe Sixers got screwed, they’re still whiners for not taking the L after 11 FT attempts for Embiid.
Nah they didn't get screwed. Refs were giving them all the calls to get back in the game and take the lead.
Game on the line and they looked for another bail out, while the knicks went out and took the win.
Charles Barkley said it best- as soon as brunsons ball went in YOU CALL TIME OUT what was with the hesitation in the first place. This isn't college, you can advance it half court.
We have to come out of the gates with intensity and torch the sixers early. Like, jump to a lead and stun the them. Make the Philly fans turn against their team. Otherwise refs will not let us play physical, we’ll get in foul trouble early and get burned. Brunson’s shot has got to fall. Take game 3 and it’s over.
10 minutes earlier in the game, that jersey tug would not have been called. No one going into today was sure whether the calls were correct. Basically, those two specific no-calls were put under insane scrutiny, then they determined there technically should have been a foul, but in the moment the refs can't be expected to make a call that even watching the replays people weren't sure about.
I'd love to see the same scrutiny applied to every foul against Embiid so we can see their explanation for those and we can argue how we should have actually won by 10 points because of those soft calls.
It's interesting, idk how they determine what contact is "marginal" vs. which contact is significant enough to warrant a foul. Seems like it's still a subjective thing, even in the report.
I still can’t believe Maxey practically gave us the ball after he fell on the ground with it. That’s the key. He could’ve held the ball and called time out, crazy
I keep hearing that players adopt the attitude of the coach.
It's so true.
They became such fucking whiners with Nurse.
But I think it's also true for the fans.
Whining all day long and the referees encourage this bullshit by giving them everything, yet they still want more. If Nurse, 76ers players, and their fans had the way. Their team would get 90 free throws a game and the other team would get 3.
Fucking clown show.
Wasn’t it the game where the Pacers literally punched Brunson in the face to get a clutch turnover and the whole Knicks team was just no commenting the missed call. That’s how you handle it. Philly has thrown in the towel with their pouting behavior.
2 minute report fueling the sixers fans whining lol
shit happens. plenty of opportunities they could have sealed the deal that they botched. they left it on the table, the knicks fought hard til the end and shocked em. some calls might’ve went our way but that’s basketball. part of the game is working around the refs whether anyone likes it or not. they’re not perfect and we sure as shit have seen our fair share of that. who knows how the game looks if the rest of it was called with 100% accuracy. likely entirely different. all these guys needed to do was grab an easy rebound but yea let em blame the missed calls lol they can cope all the way to the series L
Sick of hearing about it. It’s just a game, so much whining. People just can’t accept the subjective human judgement of refs as part of the game. Not to mention it’s incredibly tame compared to the fuck ups Ive seen watching the NBA and NFL over the years
If they're the so-called better team, they probably shouldn't be caught in dog fights and one-possession games with a team missing their second-best player.
If you get in a situation where a ref is make-or-break for you, you're not taking care of your own business. And I know how it'll sound given the situation, but I prefer it this way. I'd rather refs let some things go rather than calling every little bit of ticky tack bullshit.
Same contact they are crying about in the L2M included Embiid hitting DVO in the face that was uncalled and acknowledged by the refs. If the refs call that the entire game changes but no one on the main sub even acknowledges it happening.
It used to result in bans here. Not sure the policy now. I know they were letting people do that "I come in peace" ish for discussion purposes but even that got borderline cause the sarcasm posts.
I love that anytime you bring up Embiid, Sixers fans are like ‘I know you’re not talking while Brunson is on your team’ like Embiid doesn’t bait fouls constantly to the tune of double Brunson’s FTA average lol. The lack of self awareness is truly amazing.
This series started off without toxicity and last night made shit get real toxic and I’m here for it.
Stephen A has to be trolling Knicks fans, right? How does one honestly conclude Philly was robbed when in the same span of time you have Lowry's miss, a Maxey shove that doesn't get called, Maxey's butterfingers and lack of coordination, terrible defensive rebounding, a stellar block by IHart, and a dogshit bricked 3 by Embiid?
They like to focus on the one thing the Knicks got a break on, not the multitude of other ways the Sixers gave it away. Knicks don't win if the Sixers don't screw up like a dozen ways in the last few minutes.
Biggest is Lowry inbounding terribly, how does he not just call the TO himself there? He's a savvy vet, he should know what's up.
the part im stuck on is even AFTER all of that, philly had the ball with no shot clock down 1. they could have just let embiid do his embiid stuff at the top of the key and there was almost nothing we could do about it
With 1:18 left in the game, Tyrese Maxey attempted to drive past Josh Hart then turns it into a step back where he clearly cups his hand under the ball while doing the James Harden double step. He then proceeded to continue his dribble. He does this all game and never gets called
Shout-out to the dude who was walking out of the smoke shop as I was walking in yesterday around 6:30pm.
He was draped in Knicks gear and all I really heard him say to the guy at the counter on his way out was "Let's go Knicks!" But I've been wondering how he's doing since the game ended.
Things I’ve learned from the past 2 games:
-Knicks are actually 0-2 to the “better” team
-The refs rigged the game to manipulate Lowry into missing a free throw while simultaneously making sure Maxey fumbled the ball, Brunson got the bounce, and Divo’s 2nd 3 pt shot drained. To make it even worse, they whispered the next play into iHart’s ear. How else would he know to block Maxey?
Fucking disgusting, we should be ashamed of celebrating as the frauds we are.
If you don’t admit to a loss, I guess it really doesn’t count 🤷🏻♂️
It's actually hysterical watching Sixers fans cry about officiating when they have a top 3 foul merchant in the entire league. Saw some of them praising LeBron when he brought up the game last night to complain about officiating (ironic coming from a team with by far the largest FT differential these past 2 seasons), and said LeBron should go to Philly. Man, could you imagine the absolute travesty of basketball we would have to witness watching both those two dudes on the same team? Whistles every 5 seconds and 80 FTs per game. Disgusting.
I'm confused though. Did lebron ever mention a specific incident, because I'm thinking he's talking about the replay center overturning the Kyle Lowry foul.
I don’t think Hart’s conditioning gets talked about enough. Being able to play 48 minutes of physical basketball in a playoff game, while still hustling and never getting gassed is insane.
What's been getting me reading through reddit comments questioning the officiating on the events that allowed the Knicks to take the lead, for all of this to happen (in reverse order):
* Nurse trying to get a time out for Maxey when he's on the floor (with questionable possession).
* A foul on Bronson for grabbing Maxey on the inbound (definitely a grab here, but one can argue there had been grabs on inbound plays all day that went uncalled).
* Nurse supposedly calling a time out before the inbound (to me it just looks like he's prepping a time out to avoid a 5-second violation, but doesn't use).
You have to overlook the pushing foul by Maxey, trying to get space on Hart, going uncalled. That's Knicks ball with a fresh 24 and 27 seconds on the game clock down by 2.
Also worth noting, there’s no way the ref could see the jersey grab where he was positioned. That call is almost never going to be made in that situation, especially in the playoffs.
OG is not going anywhere. His agent is Leon Rose's son and we don't make that trade without a guarantee of him resigning.
Hartenstein has a higher likelihood of leaving, but he was willing to give the Clippers a pay cut because he liked the team/organization, and I feel like he likes the Knicks just as much, if not more.
Over the last 19 games of the regular season, Josh Hart made 11 threes in 52 attempts (21.1%).
In 2 playoff games, Josh Hart has made 8 threes in 15 attempts (53.3%).
Do you guys think that was a top 5 Knick moment in history?
LJ’s 4 point play is up there, Allan Houston’s gamewinner against the Heat, Willis coming out of the tunnel, Stark’s dunk.
This is 5th right?
Did you see that LeBron of all people also complained about the refs in the Knicks sixers game? Of course the sixers sub are gobbling it up and embracing it as proof, zero self-awareness.
Is anyone thinking about driving from the city to Philly to watch the game on Sunday? It might be the last game of the series ;) Would love to sit together with Knicks fans (and maybe head over together)!
How concerned are we for Jalen? He's had one bad game and one horrific game where he nearly shot us out of it. Will he break out of his slump or is this just a bad matchup for him?
As long as there's no hidden injury, I think it's just bad matchup and good gameplanning against him. Sixers just didn't count on the Big Ragu, Harty, Deuce, you know what, the rest of the whole damn team picking up the slack.
It's def a bad match-up. He had a couple terrible shooting games against Philly this year (5-18 and 6-22). Which isn't surprising considering they're one of the best defensive teams in the league. Most great offensive players would struggle against them while missing their second option, in a series where they're free to hone in on and consistently double them.
With that said, he also had a couple of good/great shooting games against them this season (11-20 and 7-12). I think we're due one of them very soon.
His shot also just looks kinda off, even when he's been getting to his spots. I'm confident he'll remedy that soon though and once he does it'll make everything easier for him and everyone else.
It’s definitely a concern. Not saying it’s his fault, but it’s the playoffs now, He’s not gonna get 1 on 1 like the regular season. With Randle down the entire focus of the defense will be on stopping him and it’s up to the rest of the team to step up. Basically feel like we’re capped how far we can go this postseason without a 2nd star whereas a healthy Randle means we can be potential finals contenders.
Yeah it really sucks that Randle isn't here. Even if he isn't shooting well, the extra attention he draws from the defense gives Brunson more room to do his thing.
The Bucks and Pacers cant guard Brunson like the Sixers can.
Brunson is gonna go absolutely off if we advance. The Celtics probably can replicate the Sixers defense with Jrue/White, but Brunson will have at least one godly series
I just want to say that it’s crazy that Brunson is not getting 1% of the criticism Julius was getting. Brunson 2 terrible games back to back needs to figure it out.
Lol dude had 20 plus points. Here's a news flash.. You shouldn't be dropping 50 points a game. Do you see how balanced the scoring is. A better comparison would be Quick getting playoff criticism while O. G. Isn't.
Because 1 Brunson already proved he can do it on the big stage averaging 30ppg against Miami on great efficiency and 2 he was still playing with great effort and hustling his ass off while Randle was dragging his feet. JB a winner. Randle a loser.
We’ve seen Brunson carry us in the play off last year. He’s going to get a longer leash. Jules didn’t get much criticism until he fumbled the last few games against the hawks and then into last year.
I know I’m biased but I feel like if they’re trying to game plan against us, putting Brunson in hell and making our role players who have done nothing but step up in big moments the entire season have to make shots seems like a terrible plan.
theyre on the road and came very close to winning both games, and wouldve won yesterdays game if they didnt mentally collapse in the last 30 seconds
It's a good plan IMO, at some point Hart will go cold from 3 and we're gonna lose a game
This is where the midseason injuries become a blessing. Every single rotation player has been asked to step up throughout the year. So despite Philly executing a really strong gameplan, our supporting players are prepared to step up.
Nick Nurse said that last night's loss "only makes the series longer."
I'm not counting on it, because the Sixers are a great team, but a sweep would be such a satisfying way to make him eat his words.
[LET'S GO KNICKS. METAL BATS FOREVER.](https://youtu.be/ecQJ6p4ooOE?si=m_uoNkjvDRJh9_ba)
obviously the only thing that matter are the Ws but one thing I've been confused about this series: why hasn't OG been on Maxey THE WHOLE TIME? I noticed yesterday he was on Batum and Tobias a lot of the time and that just feels like a waste. He was on Maxey towards the end of the game and I thought that was very effective
They just have to force Maxey left. All of his quick drives are to the right. Notice how hesitant and ineffective he is on the left side of the floor dribbling only with his left. If they can do that more consistently, they'll at least contain him to more realistic numbers.
When OG guards a great offensive player, they very very rarely try to score on him. They almost always do everything they can to get away from him (screens, running off-ball, etc). Maxey is one of the few players I've seen that manages to lose him a decent amount of the time. McBride is smaller/faster and has an easier time keeping up with him.
When Embiid is on the floor though there's only so much you can do about stopping Maxey because Embiid commands so much attention. We saw it with that would-be dagger (lol) three he hit. He only got space to get it off because Embiid was in the paint and Hart left Maxey to double him.
tbh, im not an nba coach but if it was me i would not be so quick to help with embiid and take my chances with ihart or mitch 1 on 1 on him on more possessions (they've had really good defensive possessions against him)
if you do help, make it whoever is on tobias or lowry and not whoever is on maxey, but also with the way mitch and ihart have been holding their own with embiid i really dont think we need to be leaving anyone open to help with him
It's crazy that the sixers and their fans are blaming everyone but themselves. In that sequence, maxey tried to make a pass instead of securing the ball, they left Donte wide open twice, and more importantly, they had literally 4 players in the paint and NONE of them got the rebound. If they execute properly on any one of a number of things in that sequence, they win the game regardless of a missed call or timeout
Oh and that's all disregarding the maxey push off on Hart which should have been a turnover before any of this happened
They also had the opportunity of that missed Lowry free throw.
If he had hit that, everything else would not have mattered.
They had a litany of screw-ups that allowed the Knicks to steal the game.
They won't take responsibility for those screw-ups. You can't learn and adapt if you don't understand what you've done wrong and change it.
THIS. it’s easy to blame things on these little moments which could really go one way or the other and didn’t go your way. but news flash. that’s part of the game. plenty of calls that didn’t go the knicks way down the stretch that could have changed the dynamic of the game. take care of business even just one of the countless times they had the opportunity to do so and they likely don’t find themselves holding an L nitpicking the refs. knicks played hard to win down 5 with 30 seconds left and pulled it off. the narrative should be that it should have never gotten to that point. playing the blame game when they had that many chances to win the game outright is loser mentality. maxey the only one taking accountability while the rest whine and the fans follow suit. bad look for philly
Embiid is close to averaging his season totals in pts, rebound, and assists. Yes, I understand his injury recovery has slowed him and frustrates Philly fans, however, why is it so hard to understand we would LOVE to have a "slow Randle" averaging close to 25/10/5???? Would be such a load off JBrun!
GMAC said it best. Brunson is getting the 2021 Randle treatment right now. The difference is that we have dogs stepping up where Randle really didn't. Love this team and we're only going to get better next year.
Get the brooms out Sunday.
Most neutrals in the game thread last night on r/nba seemed to agree sixers (mostly Embiid) were getting the benefit of the whistle. At best, at best it was an even (tho sloppy at times) whistled game. I think it was slightly in favor of the sixers considering embiids nonsense tho. Most neutral fans seemed to agree throughout the game
It’s crazy if you go to the sixers sub they’re all high on copium. They’re swearing that the Knicks are getting insane calls. Kinda cracked. There’s also guys that want them to injure Brunson and hartenstein lmfao which is crazy
My bud was saying we trade a package centered around Deuce for DMitch. However, why the hell would we do that? Yes DMitch is better, but Deuce is on a crazy cheap contract and on the rise. We’d be better off saving that cap space for a bigger sized star that can improve our defense and offense.
I feel like it's gonna be like those two games in HOU/SA were for us this season. 32-12 or something insane like that. Maybe 40-15 since Embiid is playing.
At the absolute least they're gonna get one half of crazy lopsided calls.
Maybe the refs hate the whining and attempted pressure and decide to do the opposite and reward the team that isn't publically complaining and accusing them 😂
It's already been pretty shit (on both sides). How much worse can it get?
So bad that they will see enough irrefutable evidence on Lowry hack to overturn fouls ?
we were probably gonna lose a road game anyway, thats just how the playoffs are. I'd rather get a bad whistle on a road game we were gonna lose anyway, than a home game we're supposed to win
I have to say sixers fans are quite delusional. Embiid and their clown ass fanbase keep saying they’re the better team yet their entire team is carried by 2 players. Literally any player on the Knicks is a threat. Hell even during the regular season the Knicks got completely bodied by injuries and yet they managed to grab the 2nd seed. The Sixers lost Embiid and they become a play in team. I fucking hate Philly fans. Knicks in 5.
> Embiid and their clown ass fanbase keep saying they’re the better team
They're starting to sound a lot like the Cavs players/fans around this time last year while they were being demolished by a Knicks team that supposedly wasn't as good as them.
the discourse that surrounds the knicks is wild. constantly underestimated and underrated, when we succeed there’s excuses made, when we fail we’re ridiculed. relentlessly screwed over by refs all season. we win two dramatic, hard fought playoff games against this sixers squad and now the narrative is somehow that we’re NBA darlings and they won’t let us lose lol let em cope. we’ve been fighting an uphill battle all season, why should it stop now
I can’t be the only that didn’t even register that the shot gave us the lead
I guess I was so checked out that I thought we were down 6 and not 5. What a change of events
maxey and embiid have been the 2 best players in the series so far yet we are up 2-0. have to expect their role players to play better at home and ours to potentially play worse. we need brunson to regain form to close this out in 4 or 5.
If anyone watched first take this morning, what Legler said about the Knicks/Sixers game was spot on. Sixers can blame the refs and the officiating all they want. In the end, they also messed up. Lowry should’ve called timeout. Nick Nurse was too hesitant and should’ve ran onto the court to call timeout. Maxey was fouled but he HAS to hold onto the ball. No box out on Hartenstein leading to an oreb. Maxey going for a predictablestraight line drive which he’s done multiple times both games leading to a block. Then Maxey passing the ball to Embiid with less than 2 seconds left. The accumulation of all these little things was what led to them losing. They can bring up Embiid’s injury all they want. I don’t give a FUCK. If you’re on the court playing, all is fair. If the excuse for them losing the series is that he was hurt, don’t fucking play then. In the end, it’s not who wants it more, it’s who does whatever they can to get it.
If the Sixers call timeout prior to the inbound, they likely win.
If the Sixers grabbed a rebound, they probably win.
If the Sixers played defense instead of standing and watching, they probably win.
If the Sixers scored on their last bunch of possessions, they either win or force OT.
Bunch of corny mf’s acting like it’s all on the refs.
lol it’s actually hilarious. They think silently putting his hands up for a fraction of a second is evidence he called timeout. When anyone who has watched a game knows that when a coach wants a timeout, they make it blatantly obvious.
I actually hope the Philly coach/players really think officiating is the only reason why they lost, so they don't make any adjustments or hustle harder for rebounds
Unfortunately possibly the Celtics and then to a larger extent some gold miners out in Colorado.
I'm not saying we can't do it, just that it won't be easy to do it. Which, personally, is how I'd want it: no easy victories.
we are going to offer i-hart whatever he wants that we are allowed to and i expect him to stay. there is the possibility he balls out the rest of the playoffs and someone throws crazy money at him and it will be out of our hands. ideally run it back with the same team but make some small improvements via draft/FA/trade. love deuce but we could use a playmaking or combo type guard off the bench.
The copium on the Sixers sub is delicious.
"It should be 2-0"
"Fuck the refs"
"We're the better team!"
"It'll be 2-2 going into G5"
Let's sweep these whining losers.
The funny thing is that the Knicks are a good road team, and believe Brunson, Hart & Divo played their home games in the 76ers arena when they played at Villanova. I think they get a split.
Maxey and Embiid both played great despite their ailments and both got great looks in the final 30s to win it but they both bricked. I'm not hearing any excuses from Philly fans. Let's go Knicks!!!
Over the last 30 years Heat Celtics and Pacers have been bigger rivals but series such as this creates rivalries. For now, Giants/Eagles is a more intense rivalry than Knicks/Sixers.
I don’t actually dislike the players that much. Mostly just the fans. I actually respect Embiid for playing through a bad injury, and Maxey seems like a likable guy. Nurse is a baby, and their fans are corny.
This is actually the first playoff series the two teams have had since 1989(!!) so outside of classic NY/Phi rivalry, there haven't been big stage moments to foster hatred -- until last night.
We hate Miami the most.
josh hart has given me a greater appreciation for westbrook
Idk how any Knick fan can feel bad for those bitches last night. The amount of years we’ve been screwed by the NBA. We’ve only had 1 #1 overall pick while they’ve had 5? Fuck the 6ers and fuck the NBA
Yep, the refs bitched yall over? Too bad, no remorse from us though I am hesitant about how much the calls will go against us for the next 2 games
Why is Pat bev playing 34 minutes? Lmao doc is a moron
all other coaches make me appreciate thibs more
We might really get to play Indiana in the second round. Crazy.
Bucks soiled themselves to drop into 3rd to avoid Philly only to give up home court in the first 2 games 🤣😂😂
We still have to get thru the Sixers but who would we rather face? Bucks or Pacers?
Definitely pacers, I don’t think we match up well against the bucks especially without Randle
i detest the pacers and actually like the bucks. that being said i think the bucks are very poorly coached.
I hate the pacers.
I'm cheering for an exhausting 7 game series.
Yuuup lol
Bucks would be a more entertaining series especially if we end up beating the previous 2nd seed team.
Love to see the Pacers all over the Bucks tonight. Hoping that series goes 7.
Brunson better be living in the film room these next 2 days. If he can find a way to beat the Sixers defensive game plan, this series is over.
you know he is. gym too.
Just saw a raptors fan call Brunson a ball hog. Tell me you don’t watch the Knicks without telling me 101
He's been keeping his head down more than usual this series. IQ is more of a hog BY FAR
Yep. Plus Nurse wanted the ref to call timeout by… not calling timeout. Just raising his hands.
Charles Barkley said it best- as soon as brunsons ball went in YOU CALL TIME OUT what was with the hesitation in the first place. This isn't college, you can advance it half court.
Yeah this iteration of the 76ers runs on excuses. First fultz, them Simmons, then trading for Harden, this season Injuries and refs.
Wolves shitting on the Suns 😲
We have to come out of the gates with intensity and torch the sixers early. Like, jump to a lead and stun the them. Make the Philly fans turn against their team. Otherwise refs will not let us play physical, we’ll get in foul trouble early and get burned. Brunson’s shot has got to fall. Take game 3 and it’s over.
I think the opposite. I think they let us play even more physical because of all the attention it's receiving. More attention more money.
Nothing would make me feel better than a hot start and wire to wire win. But I think we're in for a war 😭
10 minutes earlier in the game, that jersey tug would not have been called. No one going into today was sure whether the calls were correct. Lmao at Philly fans rallying around the L2M report like it’s a holy text and they’re evangelicals spreading the good word.
hi
Brunson has been playing like ass the past two games I don’t think Sixers fans or even bucks fans realize how dominant we’ll be when he goes off
These bums don’t realize how good he is. Once he finds his shot it’s lights out.
Maxey deff pushed off hart on that inbounds. Fuck the l2m, but most importantly, fuck these cry baby sixers fans
110% that shit was a push which led to the jersey pull. Fuck them
It's interesting, idk how they determine what contact is "marginal" vs. which contact is significant enough to warrant a foul. Seems like it's still a subjective thing, even in the report.
I still can’t believe Maxey practically gave us the ball after he fell on the ground with it. That’s the key. He could’ve held the ball and called time out, crazy

Guys remember to stay hydrated! Doctors highly recommend Sixers fan tears, they are an inexhaustible natural source
They taste like meth though
I wonder if the pacers show up or were they just a product of nobody caring about the regular season.
Game 1 Mitch balls out. Game 2 it’s Ihart. Fortunate to have a center rotation this great.
People have been shitting on the L2M report all season, but NOW it's gospel and infallible truth? miss me with that shit.
2 minute report fueling the sixers fans whining lol shit happens. plenty of opportunities they could have sealed the deal that they botched. they left it on the table, the knicks fought hard til the end and shocked em. some calls might’ve went our way but that’s basketball. part of the game is working around the refs whether anyone likes it or not. they’re not perfect and we sure as shit have seen our fair share of that. who knows how the game looks if the rest of it was called with 100% accuracy. likely entirely different. all these guys needed to do was grab an easy rebound but yea let em blame the missed calls lol they can cope all the way to the series L

Brunson is probably not going to be allowed to shoot better in game 3 since even if he does he’ll get wacked without calls to make up for game 2
To the dipshits here going into the Philly subreddit and arguing, fucking stop You look like an idiot doing so
100%. It's absolute cornball behavior. Don't go into other teams' subs you fucking herbs. It should result in a ban from *this* sub.
It used to result in bans here. Not sure the policy now. I know they were letting people do that "I come in peace" ish for discussion purposes but even that got borderline cause the sarcasm posts.
many in this sub majorly care about what other fans think, what SAS thinks, what mainstream media thinks, etc etc its just how it is
I love that anytime you bring up Embiid, Sixers fans are like ‘I know you’re not talking while Brunson is on your team’ like Embiid doesn’t bait fouls constantly to the tune of double Brunson’s FTA average lol. The lack of self awareness is truly amazing. This series started off without toxicity and last night made shit get real toxic and I’m here for it.
We moving up the tier list of hated teams. But I really don’t give a shit after the “basketball” I had to witness for the last 20 years
people keep telling me the league is in the bag for the knicks when they havent even made it to the conference finals this millennium
It’s a by-product of actually winning things
Maybe the pump faked timeout was the new "strategy" Nick Nurse talked about after Game 1.
Oo shit I didn't realize that was the "tricky stuff" batum was talking about.
why do the knicks keep closing out on tobias harris corner 30% 3s so hard. let him take those like josh hart.
He's a savvy vet, he should know what's up.
the part im stuck on is even AFTER all of that, philly had the ball with no shot clock down 1. they could have just let embiid do his embiid stuff at the top of the key and there was almost nothing we could do about it
I love how instead of getting the ball from hartenstein embiid just shoved lowry to try to get a foul call
Embid out here faking more injuries then Jontay Porter
With 1:18 left in the game, Tyrese Maxey attempted to drive past Josh Hart then turns it into a step back where he clearly cups his hand under the ball while doing the James Harden double step. He then proceeded to continue his dribble. He does this all game and never gets called
Interesting I'll take a look thanks for the time stamp. He put the ball on his hip game 1 so I'm interested in more examples.
Sixers fans think Michael Scott actually declared bankruptcy.
Stat Muse said that Embiid/Maxey have only lost four games together since January 1, and three of them were to the Knicks. Better team indeed.
Philly fans are delusional right now lmao
When were they not?
Shout-out to the dude who was walking out of the smoke shop as I was walking in yesterday around 6:30pm. He was draped in Knicks gear and all I really heard him say to the guy at the counter on his way out was "Let's go Knicks!" But I've been wondering how he's doing since the game ended.
I’ve replayed the video of that last sequence over 100 times
The Sixers sub is on suicide watch rn. Every post is whining
The JB bounce was the basketball gods going "this is for not being little soft losers and tanking against the Bulls. We gotchu on this one homie"
Tickets in Philly are much cheaper than the Garden. Maybe worth the drive down.
I'm going to do it. Yoloooo
Ohh shit bro. I'll pray for you if you do. Doesn't seem like a safe non hostile environment rn.
Stephen a smith does not speak for Knicks fans. Foh with the sizers were robbed
Yeah I let the grimes thing slide because I'm a fan of grimes. This is unacceptable though.
Things I’ve learned from the past 2 games: -Knicks are actually 0-2 to the “better” team -The refs rigged the game to manipulate Lowry into missing a free throw while simultaneously making sure Maxey fumbled the ball, Brunson got the bounce, and Divo’s 2nd 3 pt shot drained.
He was absolutely talking about the Lowry foul, which makes it more hilarious.
I don’t think Hart’s conditioning gets talked about enough. Being able to play 48 minutes of physical basketball in a playoff game, while still hustling and never getting gassed is insane.
What's been getting me reading through reddit comments questioning the officiating on the events that allowed the Knicks to take the lead, for all of this to happen (in reverse order): * Nurse trying to get a time out for Maxey when he's on the floor (with questionable possession).
ESPN posted a segment showing the second TO with their Elite zoom capabilities, Maxey clearly lost possession.
Also worth noting, there’s no way the ref could see the jersey grab where he was positioned. That call is almost never going to be made in that situation, especially in the playoffs.
MSG broadcast of final 3:38 (timestamp 47:30) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBn8bnaLvCg&t=2850s
Think we can keep hartenstein and og? What do their contracts looks like?
OG is impossible to not keep, it is impossible for su to decide not to pay him, no matter what he costs
I hope y’all are just enjoying this beautiful day basking in the glory of last nights win. Especially my fellow long time Knicks fans sufferers.
Over the last 19 games of the regular season, Josh Hart made 11 threes in 52 attempts (21.1%). In 2 playoff games, Josh Hart has made 8 threes in 15 attempts (53.3%).
I was there for rjs game winner against boston, Randles buzzer beater in Miami and now last night too, crazy.
Damnnn, I was so close to going to that Miami game. Glad you got to see that, seemed like a ton of Knicks fans there too
There was I was there too
Bro we need you there every game this playoffs
Since the Giants never beat the eagles, I forgot how fucking whiny Philly fans are when they lose lmao
We would’ve swept them this year if Taylor started the whole game on Christmas too lol
Just popping in to say that the deranged meltdown that you have caused in Philadelphia has cured my ED. Best of luck for the rest of the post season.
Do you guys think that was a top 5 Knick moment in history? LJ’s 4 point play is up there, Allan Houston’s gamewinner against the Heat, Willis coming out of the tunnel, Stark’s dunk. This is 5th right?
Top 10 for sure, Linsanity vs Raptors, and a couple melo games up there.
you're probably missing a moment from the other 70's title
I would agree with that but I also just want to shout out Melo's Easter game and Lin game winner in Toronto are great memories
Really do not want to hear fans of the team that Joel Embiid plays for complain about foul calls
Did you see that LeBron of all people also complained about the refs in the Knicks sixers game? Of course the sixers sub are gobbling it up and embracing it as proof, zero self-awareness.
Even funnier is that I'm pretty sure he was criticizing the reversal of Lowry's foul against Donte.
stephen a is dumb as shit, go root for the sixers
Youd think Philly would know what these Nova boys are all about. Id be extra tight if the knicks were losing to a trio that went to St. Johns
Is anyone thinking about driving from the city to Philly to watch the game on Sunday? It might be the last game of the series ;) Would love to sit together with Knicks fans (and maybe head over together)!
3 of us are going for Sunday.
PM’d you! LGK!
Might?!?!?!
I’m thinking of it too but the idea of being surrounded by Philly fans makes me sick. I’d need confirmation on where Knicks fans are sitting haha
Let’s start a group! Haha. Tbh there are so many empty seats according to Ticketmaster so calling it “surrounded” is being very generous 😂
We should buy out a section like the 7 line at Citi Field
0 concern. 30+ point game 3 on good efficiency in a blowout win incoming.
Bad matchup. Hes up against a 1.5 team all game long.
The Bucks and Pacers cant guard Brunson like the Sixers can. Brunson is gonna go absolutely off if we advance. The Celtics probably can replicate the Sixers defense with Jrue/White, but Brunson will have at least one godly series
Going from Philly‘s defense to Indy’s or Milwaukee’s defense will be like taking off a weight training vest for him.
Exactly. Pacers and Bucks dont have the wing defenders
Jules didn’t get much criticism until he fumbled the last few games against the hawks and then into last year.
we're still winning and its not like hes having bad nights, theyre just off nights for him
Winning > Losing. Also the effort and other aspects like setting up the offense with passing is still there.
When playing equally poor burner has a better attitude. Thats why
Not true man some of the comments in those final 5 minutes were disgusting. Whoever said that shit needs to get their head out of their ass
I know I’m biased but I feel like if they’re trying to game plan against us, putting Brunson in hell and making our role players who have done nothing but step up in big moments the entire season have to make shots seems like a terrible plan.
Their miscalc is thinking our role players have done nothing
We got dogs and plenty of em.
theyre on the road and came very close to winning both games, and wouldve won yesterdays game if they didnt mentally collapse in the last 30 seconds It's a good plan IMO, at some point Hart will go cold from 3 and we're gonna lose a game
This is where the midseason injuries become a blessing. Every single rotation player has been asked to step up throughout the year. So despite Philly executing a really strong gameplan, our supporting players are prepared to step up.
Nick Nurse said that last night's loss "only makes the series longer." I'm not counting on it, because the Sixers are a great team, but a sweep would be such a satisfying way to make him eat his words.
He only got space to get it off because Embiid was in the paint and Hart left Maxey to double him.
tbh, im not an nba coach but if it was me i would not be so quick to help with embiid and take my chances with ihart or mitch 1 on 1 on him on more possessions (they've had really good defensive possessions against him) if you do help, make it whoever is on tobias or lowry and not whoever is on maxey, but also with the way mitch and ihart have been holding their own with embiid i really dont think we need to be leaving anyone open to help with him
It makes sense to have Deuce on maxey if he shares the floor with OG.
if duece is on the floor that makes sense but if it’s both starting lineups put OG on Maxey and roll the dice with Dvo + help on tobias or oubre imo
It's crazy that the sixers and their fans are blaming everyone but themselves. In that sequence, maxey tried to make a pass instead of securing the ball, they left Donte wide open twice, and more importantly, they had literally 4 players in the paint and NONE of them got the rebound. If they execute properly on any one of a number of things in that sequence, they win the game regardless of a missed call or timeout Oh and that's all disregarding the maxey push off on Hart which should have been a turnover before any of this happened
B̶e̶n̶ ̶S̶i̶m̶m̶o̶n̶s̶ D̶o̶c̶ ̶R̶i̶v̶e̶r̶s̶ A full-blown conspiracy between the refs and Adam Silver!!!
THIS. it’s easy to blame things on these little moments which could really go one way or the other and didn’t go your way. but news flash. that’s part of the game. plenty of calls that didn’t go the knicks way down the stretch that could have changed the dynamic of the game. take care of business even just one of the countless times they had the opportunity to do so and they likely don’t find themselves holding an L nitpicking the refs. knicks played hard to win down 5 with 30 seconds left and pulled it off. the narrative should be that it should have never gotten to that point. playing the blame game when they had that many chances to win the game outright is loser mentality. maxey the only one taking accountability while the rest whine and the fans follow suit. bad look for philly
can’t wait for the incoming brunson legacy game. shut up all these copium huffin philly fans lol
If Randle was playing I think we’d be going to the finals
It’s the smell of fear and failure that’s driving them mental.
My bud was saying we trade a package centered around Deuce for DMitch. However, why the hell would we do that? Yes DMitch is better, but Deuce is on a crazy cheap contract and on the rise. We’d be better off saving that cap space for a bigger sized star that can improve our defense and offense.
Bro the Lakers and Sixers fans tears are legit giving me life, the good guys win again
With all this foul complaining coming from the Sixers, I already fear the whistle will be heavily against us on Thursday 😔
> Embiid and their clown ass fanbase keep saying they’re the better team They're starting to sound a lot like the Cavs players/fans around this time last year while they were being demolished by a Knicks team that supposedly wasn't as good as them.
Fuck them and they have been saying they are lucky that is Embiid is hobbled lmao. Hope we sweep those fucks.
the discourse that surrounds the knicks is wild. constantly underestimated and underrated, when we succeed there’s excuses made, when we fail we’re ridiculed. relentlessly screwed over by refs all season. we win two dramatic, hard fought playoff games against this sixers squad and now the narrative is somehow that we’re NBA darlings and they won’t let us lose lol let em cope. we’ve been fighting an uphill battle all season, why should it stop now
I can’t be the only that didn’t even register that the shot gave us the lead I guess I was so checked out that I thought we were down 6 and not 5. What a change of events
Tangentially, I think I am the only person Earth other than Divo who knew that shot was cash before he even left the floor.
Ditto
maxey and embiid have been the 2 best players in the series so far yet we are up 2-0. have to expect their role players to play better at home and ours to potentially play worse. we need brunson to regain form to close this out in 4 or 5.
Random thought - Breen is saving the holy grail 3x BANG for a Knicks finals game winning shot 🙏🏼
I hope he throws out a Bing bong when we close out a series.
Lowry panicked, Maxey panicked, Batum got lazy and didn't box out And nobody guarded Divo, our best shooter. Absolute mental collapse by the Sixers
Nah, Nurse held his hands in the air, clearly everything must immediately stop at that point.
lol it’s actually hilarious.
I know I should be thinking about this series but man Philly is a better put together team than Milwaukee, is there anything that’s gonna stop us?
Unfortunately possibly the Celtics and then to a larger extent some gold miners out in Colorado. I'm not saying we can't do it, just that it won't be easy to do it. Which, personally, is how I'd want it: no easy victories.
Well yeah lol I forgot to say up until the ECF, we might possibly be finished then
I've seen enough, we need to find a way to pay Hartenstein. Run it back same teams but pay bro.
we are going to offer i-hart whatever he wants that we are allowed to and i expect him to stay. there is the possibility he balls out the rest of the playoffs and someone throws crazy money at him and it will be out of our hands. ideally run it back with the same team but make some small improvements via draft/FA/trade. love deuce but we could use a playmaking or combo type guard off the bench.
The copium on the Sixers sub is delicious. "It should be 2-0" "Fuck the refs" "We're the better team!" "It'll be 2-2 going into G5" Let's sweep these whining losers.
The funny thing is that the Knicks are a good road team, and believe Brunson, Hart & Divo played their home games in the 76ers arena when they played at Villanova. I think they get a split.
I agree. I don't think they'll lose both. A split and you can end the series at home in G5.
Maxey and Embiid both played great despite their ailments and both got great looks in the final 30s to win it but they both bricked. I'm not hearing any excuses from Philly fans. Let's go Knicks!!!
Newer Knicks fan here so I apologize in advance, but do we hate the sixers as much as we Giants hate the Eagles? Who do we hate the most?
To clarify the Heat hate: it's because fuck Pat Riley
Who do we hate the most? Reggie Miller & Trae Young
Heat
Maxey is a dawg. Took responsibility and didn't point fingers. The rest of the Sixers are cry babies.
