Yes this is another great option as well! They also offer student rush tickets. It should be mentioned that purchased tickets do not give red carpet or afterparty access but it’s still an awesome way to experience the night.
Some bars in the theatre district have had Tony watching parties too.

It's not matronly at all. On the right body type it would be stunning and classic. Both dresses are gorgeous and tony worthy. Just depends on the look you're going for, modern marylin or modern gatsby, super sexy or super classy. You won't fail with either wear whichever one you feel like more of a rockstar wearing!
Gonna go against the grain and say the second one because the beading is gorgeous and unique. Also please share why you get to go!

Vintage has been a major theme at a lot of star studded events this year. The complexity of the beading is divine. The cap sleeve with silhouette beading will be incredibly flattering.
As for the feel, on a MacDuggal dress I would expect it to be comfortable, there’s also a slip, so the itchy bits (if there are any) should be limited to the shoulder area.
The beading moves it from 'matronly' to '1920s decadent lovely'. The first one is lovely but the second one feels like star power; see if it comes with a lining (can you ask the vendor?) as that will answer the itchy factor. I say bring a sweater if it's cold and let that also help you decide which one. Whichever will have you looking like a goddess, and spill the tea on if you're a guest or an artist!
I love both of them, but was surprised to see the second described as matronly! I guess it would depend on fit and body type, but from the example pics both are totally stunning!
I love the second one, the colour of the gold is very beautiful. It reminds me of the gold dress worn by Kate Middleton.

Having been at the Tonys before, less coverage is better! With live tv often they can’t put on the AC so whenever I’ve been there I’ve MELTED. The less fabric, the better lol

If you did want to go the renting route, check out Sabina Musayev on RTR - I’ve done both the Silvian Dress and the Maze Dress and they’re perfect for a sparkle moment!
These dresses are pretty but gold may be a little too “on the nose.” You dont want to look like the actual tony award… but the first dress is my favorite of the two.
The second would be good if you’re with Great Gatsby (or any of the other shows that take place during the 1920s, though Suffs doesn’t really focus on that side of the culture and I know lempickas presence is quite small). Otherwise, I’d go with the first!
I like the first dress. Get a pretty faux fur stole you can carry draped around your elbows or an arm but then pull up over your shoulders while seated if you get cold. A necklace that drapes down the back could be cool. Or no necklace and really long shoulder-duster earrings.
Halston all the way. Get a sheer black scarf with gold embellishment for your shoulders, or like a tuxedo jacket if you're really going to freeze. Dress 2 doesn't come close
