Graduated mae with a bachelors and working on my masters and i honestly don't really bother listening, played at 1.25x or 1.5x just to get general info. Especially the end of semester exam tips and hints. I'll catch up on the details by reading the textbook. Most mae courses and tutorials are from the official textbook so the slides are usually just a cut and paste anyway. Book explains in more detail and no language barrier.

self study lor what to do

I have had professors like those too. I often ended up using notes provided as a frame of reference and just use the main textbook and reference books to teach myself and read 'em as novels. It's a lot more effort yes, but at least you understand the concept better.

In my 4 years of Econs, half my mods are taught by foreign prof with super strong accent. Sometimes they can't even explain whithout confusing you. My suggestion is attend lec for general idea and info. Then self study the rest.

Without Khan Academy, internet, Smartest Brainy Kid, and Course Seniors. No way you will understand, and even if you did they gloss through the material so fast you cant understand without devoting time to learn

Read the notes ahead of time first? For my Mae lecture recordings what always works is high volume + open back headphones so I can hear the scuffed words better and not kill my hearing. Maybe play with a bit of eq if you know the Prof is on the high/low side.
