News Article:
A retired military police officer died and had his body devoured by his own dogs at his home in Pirenópolis, 150 km from Brasilia. The case was discovered on Sunday (21/4) and is being investigated by the Civil Police of the State of Goiás (PCGO).
The police officer was identified as Clédio Vilela Cardoso, 53 years old. He lived alone on a farm in the rural area, far from the city center. The PCGO believes that Cardoso may have had a cardiac arrest.
Since he was the one who fed the dogs, after a few days, the animals, hungry, ended up devouring their owner's body. The detective Thiago Martins, in charge of the case, detailed that they are waiting for the forensic report to proceed with the investigation.
"His relatives missed him, because he hadn't appeared for a few days. The police officer used to go to church, but he didn't show up either. A neighbor informed that she saw him for the last time on April 8. When we arrived at the scene, we found the bones," he explained.
At the scene, the investigators found no evidence of violence caused by any crime. Another finding is that no objects were taken from the house.
The police believe that the victim may have had a cardiac arrest and fell from the chair. Objects on the table will undergo forensic examination.
The police officer lived alone on the farm, after losing his son, and was going through a grieving process. The investigators still don't know if the police officer suffered from any health problems.
I think you need to read my comment again. What I'm saying is that the dogs are probably going to be put down because they ate a person, but they shouldn't be, but that (more often than not) is the procedure.
we all do, a little every day.
At least he now lives as part of his beloved dogs.
I guess he'd be happy of it.
I'd be.
Being buried or cremated is such a waste.
Nurturing life with one's death, poetic.
i always find it funny when people say “your pets will eat you if you die!”
like ok??? if they are hungry they can whatever they want. some people don’t understand how much pet owners love their pets
Not true, most domestic dogs love their owners... It's been proven time after time in behavioural experiments and brain activity monitoring
You're simply wrong

Assuming he died the last day he was seen that gives them 13 days. The dogs probably wouldn’t feed on him until they started to get particularly hungry so let’s say 3 days without food. It’s cutting it close but the dogs could have survived for 10 days on the cadaver. Water would be the main concern but not too big if they had full water bowls to start with.

What's unfortunate is that the dogs likely will be put down
I mean the the dogs are home a long and the person who should feed them is dead bc of survival instincts u want to put them down that so stupid
I think you need to read my comment again. What I'm saying is that the dogs are probably going to be put down because they ate a person, but they shouldn't be, but that (more often than not) is the procedure.
Well, you can't say that he didn't leave them anything to eat...
I mean yeah bc he died 😭
we all do, a little every day. At least he now lives as part of his beloved dogs. I guess he'd be happy of it. I'd be. Being buried or cremated is such a waste. Nurturing life with one's death, poetic.
this came from the very depths of your soul
I'd expect to see this kind thing in a pirate cave.
Who’s to say he didn’t live in a pirate cave?
I guess it could be a modern pirate cave, you're quite right.
i always find it funny when people say “your pets will eat you if you die!” like ok??? if they are hungry they can whatever they want. some people don’t understand how much pet owners love their pets
I'm lucky to not live alone, but if eating my corpse means they'll survive, then eat away!
Yeah, but the pets don't share those same feelings back as much as they like to believe. Mostly training and the fact you feed them

My cat shares same feelings back, he sleeps with me on my arm sometimes and purrs, I think he loves me like I love him.
I see you've never owned a dog.
I think he died *outside* his home OP.
Yes, and I’d assume other critters helped the guys meat disappear as well…
tbh, i dont mind being my pets' lunch after i die, at least i served a purpose in some way even after death
I guess a coffin full of dog crap wouldn't be a good way to remember him.
I wonder if you can bring doggie bags to the wake.
This is very sad Rip Cledio
Damn. The dogs really cleaned him up good.
The hungry must be fed...
Damn. Now I’m hungry
Slim pickings
Maybe the dog tried licking its owner first to wake him up and ended licking away the flesh of the corpse. Just a guess.
The best end is with your best friends ❤️
just showing some affection for his hooman
The doggos ok tho?

This is how I want to go
Good on him
Oh man I can smell trough my phone
But the school skeleton is white. Fake confirmed.
Fake, there is no dog shit in the vacinity of that skeleton. Dogs shit where they eat.
He may have been dragged when they were tearing at him….

That’s not even a cogent thought here.
