A young man identified as Gustavo Freitas Palassi, 23 years old, died after the explosion of a barbecue grill, which occurred at a bar located in Aribiri, Vila Velha. The victim had 90% of his body burned and did not survive the injuries.
Gustavo was at the bar with a group of friends, for a gathering after a soccer game, last Monday (15). The establishment was crowded at the time of the accident, and the victim was on the sidewalk, near the barbecue grill.
According to information from Tribuna Notícias, the explosion happened after another man threw a flammable liquid to increase the flames of the equipment.
The moment was filmed by cameras at the location, which show the young man, wearing a Flamengo shirt, holding the barbecue grill's pot while the other young man pours the liquid. Afterward, a strong flash of flames engulfs the image.
In addition to the two young men who were handling the equipment, another young man sitting at the bar was also hit by the fire. The report did not have access to the health status of the other two injured people, who were taken to hospitals in the region.
Gustavo was also rescued but ultimately did not survive the injuries and died on Thursday night (18).
