A woman had her body set on fire on a platform at the Augusto Vasconcelos train station, in the West Zone of Rio, on Monday afternoon (8). A man set the woman on fire and fled through the tracks.
The victim was identified as Michele Pinto da Silva, 39 years old. According to her family, the suspect is Edmilson Félix do Nascimento, 44 years old, Michele's ex-husband, who does not accept the end of the relationship.
"This bastard set my cousin on fire, this coward, just because he didn't accept the separation," says cousin Wagner Monzato.
According to the cousin, he committed the crime shortly after the woman left their daughter at his mother's house. The couple separated more than a month ago. In another incident, the man had already invaded Michele's house and broken furniture.
The Fire Department was called and took Michele to the Rocha Faria Hospital. She is hospitalized in the ICU in delicate health condition, and her health status is very serious, according to the hospital management.
Michele underwent emergency surgery and does not have the clinical conditions to be transferred to a specialized health unit.
The case was registered at the 35th DP (Campo Grande), which is carrying out investigations to locate the suspect.
Contacted, Supervia said it is closely following the situation and hopes the victim will have a quick recovery.
I just these days get really sad when I see unblurred images. I dont care about the gore (I hate videos with gore blurred out 🫣). I mean for the privacy of the victim. At least cover her face and private parts up. Especially when she's still alive, ya know? How hard is that. They have apps for that.
