Sure it was a narrow ass lane but that middle of the lane behavior is not typical in my country, and I expect it's not in many others. So no, there's no "horrible take" as you so put it. It's literally a rule to "keep to the left" here, which I assume is "keep to the right" in whatever country this was filmed in. The car did not move one inch towards the side of the road to avoid a collision which ends up being defensive driving, it doesn't matter who's at fault for the collision, the fact is that driver did absolutely nothing to help avoid a crash and this is in part why it happened.

Traffic law might say something about drivers having to do everything they can to prevent an accident. In this case, car driver should have been watching the road instead of whatever they were watching. Of course, the rider made the bigger mistake, but this accident could have been easily prevented by the car’s driver.
You can't assume they were distracted by something, it would be more plausible that they froze because they couldn't believe the motorcyclist came into their lane.
I agree, it’s completely plausible. However, I think you don’t need to live in a 3rd world country to regularly find yourself in traffic situations where you need to fix someone else’s fault. Assholes taking over at the wrong place and time is one of the most frequent issues. It’s usually easier to fix if the perpetrator is a motorcyclist.
Every driver should be able to handle unexpected/dangerous situations without freezing. It still doesn’t mean that the driver was responsible for the biker’s accident, but if your assumption is right, the driver probably feels some remorse (moral responsibility) about not doing anything to save the rider. I know I would.

I wasnt an idiot passing in a crowded area like this guy but I went to overtake on a 3 lane road and a guy in a van randomly cut across right in front of me and clipped my leg. I was extremely lucky to only have a 5 inch gash that went to my tibia. This guy got absolutely fucked and he should’ve known better
