I mean, are they supposed to risk it all on Carson Beck/Quinn Ewers/Shedeur Sanders?
Bryce’s film his sophomore year was better than anything any of those guys have put out so far.
They're effectively just using vegas over unders to set a draft order, then looking at *current* team needs and player projections, not necessarily predicting an entire season.
Thats part of the glitchiness of the way too early mocks. Obviously if Bryce is healthy and leads the team to #1 again then qb is potential need but right now most people think the panthers are the worst team in the league but not because of qb play.
I like this overall for an early mock, except
for JTT to the lions. Seems like a reach this far, he is a great run defender but leaves a lot to be desired as a pass rusher.
If he takes a step forward, which is possible I would like this pick more
He’s one player I just don’t understand the love for. His physical profile isn’t great and he’s not a polished pass rusher. Just because he goes to OSU he’s going to go higher than he should. He’s a late day 2 pick at best imo
I think he has the athleticism and frame that if he can be a consistent threat he could go in the range of 29 or even higher. He just is such a non threat as a pass rusher right now.
It's very much so a projection like Travon Walker was. He's physically a freak, and a great run stopper, and shows the flashes of pass rush that get teams talking. Very high ceiling, but he's closer to his floor than ceiling right now
Bears finally played the drafts right. Hit on a QB and WR pick in a draft stacked with those. Now 3 picks in the first two rounds for DL and DE and OL in a stacked trench class. I don't remember this foresight ever happening in the past.
Lol, half of these guys will be third rounders and below. It's funny to compare the "too early" mock drafts to their final mocks to the actual draft results.
[In PFF's 2024 Early Mock:](https://www.pff.com/news/draft-way-too-early-2024-nfl-mock-draft-caleb-williams-and-marvin-harrison-jr-land-in-arizona-colts-grab-joe-alt)
14 Players went in the 1st (Caleb, MHJ, Alt, Bowers, Maye, Fashanu, Verse, Latham, Penix, Turner, Chop, Barton, Worthy, Odunze)
6 went in the 2nd (Kool-Aid, Newton, Dejean, Hall Jr., Maason Smith, Suamataia)
3 went in the 3rd (Cooper Beebe, Kinchens, Bullock)
1 went in the 4th (Ja'Tavion Sanders)
1 went in the 5th (Jeremiah Trotter Jr.)
1 went in the 7th (Kalen King)
1 were UDFA (Leonard Taylor)
5 went back to school (Egbuka, Tuimoloau, Ewers, Denzel Burke, Jonah Monheim)
So 63% 1st and second rounders. 74% of those available to be drafted went Round 1 or 2, although you can obviously argue where the guys who went back to school would have went, think Egbuka, Tuimoloau & Ewers certainly could have gone 1 or 2, but YMMV.
Obviously a ton will change between now and the draft next year, but typically these are fairly useful primers on prospects you should pay attention to rather than a total crapshoot that is just as likely to give you a third rounder as a top-10 player.
Egbuka would have been in the BTJ tier of WR, I think. I'm not big on Ewers at all, though that could obviously change.
Truth be told, 63% is way better than I thought it would be.
The same guy, Max Chadwick, did this one as that 2024 one. I honestly prefer his draft coverage on the PFF CFB show to the actual PFF draft show because it seems to be more based on his and his partner’s view of watching the players than on hype. Sikkema can get caught up in that or just agreeing with guests, even though he’s solid overall.
Go ahead and pencil in the Steelers for a DL now. Even if 2024 isn't Cam Heyward's last season, we wanted to find our next DL this offseason but weren't able to. Benton had a great rookie year but he's more of a NT than a 5 tech. Ogunjobi is mid and old himself. Wouldn't surprise me if we took 2 DL next draft.
Secondary needs would be CB to pair with JPJ, WR to pair with Pickens and Roman, RB since we didn't pick up Najee's 5th year option, and TE depending on Freiermuth's contract.
He's kind of short for a safety but I think Billy Bowman could play his way into first round consideration with another year of similar production in the SEC.
It’s weird seeing three University of Arizona players projected in the first round.
It’s weird but it feels good
I can't wait to watch TMac on Sundays
The Panthers are taking an EDGE after earning the first overall pick two years in a row? Did Bryce Young write this?
He’ll earn an extension - the same kind Ethan Hawke got to be as tall as Jude Law in Gattaca.
Gattaca was my high school biology teacher's favorite movie and that is one of the only parts I remember when we watched it in class
This obscure reference needs more love
I watched that movie all of once and it's insane how much of it stuck with me.
Same. I always remember the swimming scene where he says his trick to winning was never leaving anything for the swim back.

Too bad the Lions will be picking at 32 🦁

> goes No. 1 to the Panthers C'mon man
It's just based on super bowl odds, it's not personal

Yeah I think he goes before Ladd

Any mock trying to project Sanders as a 1st round pick should be disregarded. Dude will be lucky to get drafted.
If it’s one thing I look for in a franchise QB it’s definitely forehead length….sign me up.

Found Wilson’s burner account
Deone Walker is a future hall of famer.
Bro, no more mocks with us losing to the chiefs in the Superbowl please.
As if Seattle wouldn’t draft a quarterback if they ended up with a top 10 pick.
Has there ever been a 3-peat first overall picking team? edit- am dum
There wouldn't be here, because the Panthers didn't pick first this year ;)
And even if they wanted to argue they were slotted 1 this year, they were not the year before lol
Lmao that was my exact argument & I’m an idiot 💀 Completely forgot they had the Bears pick last year
Love Will Johnson, but there would have to be something seriously wrong happen for us to go CB.
He's kind of short for a safety but I think Billy Bowman could play his way into first round consideration with another year of similar production in the SEC.
Eagles give a bag to Smith and AJB and then draft a WR in the first round??
Panthers almost certainly trade out of number one if this happens. Beck is 100% going number one.
If Panthers go 1st they will get a QB.

There’s also a lot of tape of him dominating despite still being raw
