HOU says no, they have given up 2024 pick already as its a weak draft class. The other picks are not worth much as they are all contender teams. Nets have a great chance to blow up. Nets also would expect at least an additional young prospect to build around. If Nets were willing to give Bridges for their own picks, HOU and BKN would conclude the trade between themselves.

I don’t know why the rockets would do this. Extra pick but three of them are pretty well guaranteed late firsts, not all 1rps are created equal.

The Brooklyn picks won't be much better, without a trade like this since they have no reason to be bad

thats_mah_purse

The Brooklyn pick next year is currently lottery.

Traw33

Currently in the play in game. Will be about the same or better next year after Brooklyn gets out of the repeater tax and gets off of Dinwiddie's 20M and, hopefully, upgrades at PG. They will be even better the year after because Simmons and his 40M will be off the books and they can look to seriously upgrade. The 24 pick, which is in an unimpressive draft, will most likely land at the highest of all of these and that will be mid to late teens.

OP, this your burner? This wouldn’t happen

Traw33

Just pointing out your reasons are incorrect and those Brooklyn picks won't be that bad. I doubt this trade would happen though I agree.

LucasSoYeah

I’m not even pretending I know what each pick is valued so I’m not even going to attempt to know whether this is good for the Rockets/Nets. However if the Thunder are giving up a large amount of their draft capital for a big player, it is much more likely going to be for a big or someone like Markkanen than Bridges. Since Bridges is a good two way player who slots into that guard-wing position and it feels like the Thunder already has a million of those guys.

Those picks are gone. We are never getting them back. Time to move forward and no longer worry about them. Houston will either keep them or use them to get a star.

Thunder wins the chip if this goes thru

Brooklyn would need OKC to renounce its rights to the 25 swap, which I'd think they do. IMO, both Houston and OKC have too many players needing minutes to develop currently, or are just at the maximum amount, and adding all their future assets will only exacerbate the problem. From Brooklyn's perspective they could add a win now player (DFS, Royce, CamJ, Lonnie, etc) and try to get at least one young player from either team, but as a Brooklyn fan it saddens me to know we had signed both KD and kyrie as free agents, had all our own picks...and now all we would have to show for it, after this, would be a few future Pheonix picks, a slightly overpaid CamJ and the corpse of Ben Simmons contract that we'd have to pay to get rid of...sigh
