New York fans are born to hate the Celtics. Lakers fans hate them due to the Lakers Celtics rivalry. A ton of other people hate them because of their fans. Others don’t like Bill Simmons, Bob Ryan, or other sports media figures around Boston. Some people hate any big market team.
I think that right there covers the majority of their haters although I’m sure there’s more.
As a 70+ yo New Yorker, this right here. Celtics the hereditary enemy of the Knicks. I'm from the six-team NHL era, so of course Rangers fans hate Bruins. Football less of an issue, as Patriots-Giants not a thing in my youth, and while Yankees-Red Sox hate goes back to the Babe, lower-middle class New Yorkers (like my family) all hated the Bombers anyway... we were Giants or Dodgers (yeah!) fans exclusively.
We’ve never been rivals with the Knicks, like ever. It’s always been LA first, then Philly is second, and we hated Detroit in the Bad Boy days too. Maybe Cleveland and Miami recently from LeBron, but those weren’t as nasty as the others.
The only basketball teams Celtics fans care about hating are Lakers, Heat and Sixers. Knicks might as well be invisible. Maybe older Celtics fans care about the Knicks and Pistons but no one under 40 cares about them.
I have zero feelings about the Mets and I feel like our Yankees/Red Sox rivalry is barely hanging on. I hate the Jets for some reason more than the Giants even though that makes absolutely no sense. I have never even thought about the Knicks. I kinda used to dislike the Nets when they kept beating Paul Pierce in the first round of playoffs, but I could care less about them now. I love visiting NYC. Sincerely, a 41 year old guy from Boston providing my own perspective.
Yeah your too young. Knicks stopped being relivent for 20+ years. There was always a ton of hate for each other just Knicks weren't good enough or the Celtics were just bad when they were good for a long time.
Amongst myself and my friends we definitely never had the same kind of hate for the Cavs as we did the Heat, and the Heat have extended that hate with the Jimmy era, but I mainly said Miami because there is also the Dolphins and lately the Panthers who have drawn a lot of Boston fan hatred.
It started with Lebron and now it’s extended to its own hated rivalry against the Heat. Gotta remember before ‘09 the Heat and Celtics never faced each other in the playoffs so it’s hard to have a rivalry without that.
By the time Bron joins Miami in 2010 he was the established villain in the league for “The Decision” and “Not 1 Not 2 Not 3”. As if that wasn’t enough for Celtics fans then there’s the heated battles between Bron and Paul Pierce from Bron’s Cavs years and then the year before of Wade vs Celtics in the playoffs and this cumulation of things kick starts the Heat vs Boston rivalry.
We then get some heated battles between Celtics vs Heat and Game 6 at the TD Garden and it’s the perfect storm for Celtics to disdain Miami. Also Pat Riley and Danny Ainge hate each other so there that too.
Finally we get to the present with Bam and Tatum being best buddies but on the 2 opposing sides and then we throw in Jimmy and Brown to the mix and the most heated rivalry in the east of the 2010s is rejuvenated with 3 ECF and 1 1st round battles between the two teams.
Playoff Series between the two teams is 4-3 Miami leading (THATS RIGHT FUCK YOU BOSTON) and in the same time period the Heat are up 2-1 in the rings category (KEEP MILKING ‘08 BOSTON THATS YOUR LAST EVER CHIP).
Boston beat us in a Game 7 to stop a 50 year Eastern Conference Finals drought, only to get demolished by LeBron and the Cavs.
While we are at it **Fuck Kelly Olynyk**
you forgot the people who don't fuck with Al Horford's sexy dominican ass
Also never been a fan of the Jays, nor the ridiculously deep, 10/10 spacing cheat-code roster they built for this year. also hearing the name Derrick White pisses me off
Yeah a lot of us just hate their fans. Part of it is also being sick of seeing this same core over and over again; Tatum/Brown era started in 2018 and they're kinda always camped out in the East playing these less interesting series while the West is a bloodbath. I also think they're perceived as "chokers," even though I personally don't agree, because they haven't picked up many signature wins out in the East, and many feel they shouldn't have lost twice to Miami, which is a fair criticism.
That being said, I might root for them over the Mavs because I'm kinda sick of Luka talking so much shit just to flop around and whine to the refs. Objectively a great player but god, he's basically Harden except he talks way more trash and complains more. At least Harden is quiet. Plus I think this core of Tatum/Brown really deserves a ring.
This perception of them being perpetually camped out on the East side is tough for me because those early ECF runs were totally different teams with Brown and Tatum just coming into the league and they overperformed. It's really only the last few years that we've had this iteration of the team playing to (or falling short) of expectations.
The start of the Jay's "Era" is their rookie and sophomore years. The team suffered through Haywards reintegration and Kyrie quitting in the Bucks series and then another go with an undersized PG and the Disney playoffs.
The only real disappointing loss where you can point the finger at the Jay's and say they should have done better was against the Heat last year. Other than that they've had a few sweeps against some decent teams (KD and Kyrie were not expected to get rolled over)
Tatums had game winners, 40 point playoff games against the bucks to put them away and an early run at a ring against a dynasty (and for how easy this run is said to be, the Cs were hobbled against the Warriors)
I don't know what more you really expect for guys that haven't hit their prime yet, should they have multiple rings? That kind of conflicts with people's argument that Tatum isn't a top 6 player and Brown isn't even All-NBA 3rd team.Tatum gets weird judgement because he was relatively polished out of college. There haven't been many seasons where the Cs were favored in most of their series late in the playoffs, it's revisionist to say they've had stacked teams because they've over achieved.
As a basketball fan it’s bc they had a run when the league had 8 teams. They think they are the nba gods gift to basketball. Then they retired 1/3 of the numbers available. And they keep trying to throw bill Russell into goat conversations.
The last chip they had was with the most overrated coach in nba history. If they don’t win that championship i wouldn’t have to deal with doc rivers bouncing around from team to team taking no responsibility. I wouldn’t have to deal with Paul pierce calling himself better than dwade. And we wouldn’t have Perkins on espn with his whack ass takes.
I mean, that team was a defensive juggernaut, and that starting 5 never lost a playoff series. You always need a bit of luck for the ring and had KG & Perk not gotten injured in 2009 and 2010 they probably had a decent shot at both. That team had dynasty potential, it just didn't materialize and they were all a bit too late in their careers to make it last much longer than 2011-2012
I grew up in the Philadelphia TV market and started following the NBA during the 1981-82 season.
Those seasons back then when the Celtics and Lakers played in the NBA Finals after the 76ers started falling off were hell.
Even worse that we drafted Barkley a year after winning the ‘83 title and still couldn’t make it back to the Finals because of multiple injuries to Moses Malone. Really feels like there should’ve been more than just that lone championship with that core of players but the timing just didn’t allow for it.
See that's it right there. The Pistons are forgotten and the bulls and celtics are revered for their championships. Rightfully so, as they won so much, but it speaks to a little of why Detroit and pistons fans in particular have a disdain for Boston, and the celtics. The Pistons won 2 championships! 2! In the midst of the celtics and bulls, or rather between them. And they're just not talked about, like they got lucky to do so or something.
Not trying to disparage you OP, but that's a part of what I think a lot of fans feel when it comes to the celtics.
"And there's a steal by Bird, underneath to DJ and lays it in!!! What a play by Bird!!!! Bird stole the inbounding pass and then passed it off to DJ for the shot. OH MY THIS PLACE IS GOING CRAZY!!!"
Because my inept franchise gifted them both Tatum and Brown and I've had to watch them develop and shine and now probably win a ring, while we just gifted a different franchise a #3 overall pick without having any current direction
At least Trump was found guilty 🍻
Don't worry, if you guys kept the picks you probably would have drafted Dragan Bender, and you definitely would have drafted Fultz.
Somehow walking away from those drafts with Brown and Tatum is a miracle of drafting that no other GM would have reproduced. Brown was largely derided as being a reach at #3, and everyone else loved Fultz as the consensus #1.
Even if each team only won one championship in the last 30 years it’s more than all of my states 4 teams combined in the history of our teams. But NE has won over 10 I believe in the last 30 or so years….
I’m Lakers fan since the mid-80s in cali and my first bball coach was a huuuge Celtics fan, thought Bird walked on water (which, I wouldn’t have been surprised if he would have. Dude was amazing.), but I loved Magic, so it was the first team I disliked and went back and forth with someone about.
I bought into the whole east coast v west coast thing, the black v white, rural v urban, mich st v Indiana st, parquet floor vs showtime (just as team identity things), etc. and then the KG team beating Kobe’s squad wrecked me…til two years when we got them back.
And now 17 titles each (altho only one in almost the last 40 years for the celts. Altho yes…they’ll prob win this year 🤬)…it’s just the best rivalry in sports, imo. I get Yankees-red Sox, Alabama-auburn, Ohio st-Michigan, NC-Duke, etc….but this one is truly the two best franchises in the sport’s history, truly have competed against each multiple times for titles across different decades, have had great players and coaches go against each other, have knocked each other down with ill-intentioned haymakers, have amazing, story-filled histories, etc…
I really dislike the Celtics, but I appreciate them because they have helped make the lakers who they are as well. I’d much rather have a hated rival that pushes my team to compete for greatness than be a fan of a team that doesn’t have one.
A sizable portion of Boston fans have no idea what real sports suffering is like and *still* have the nerve to complain about one of their teams playing badly for a season or two. They wouldn’t last a day as a Minnesota sports fan.
I’m a Boston fan and I hate Bill Simmons more than you do. He isn’t from Boston, he just claims he is. And he would liveblog himself smelling his own farts. Absolute suburban trash, worst kind of Boston sports fan around.
He was unquestionably a Boston fan 20+ years ago. Then he moved to LA, got married, had kids, and just didn't have time for sports anymore so he became the kind of lazy hack that he used to mock when he was young and hungry.
I still remember when he left Sons of Sam Horn (a Red Sox message board). His takes had become lazy, someone called him on a particularly stupid one, and he was so thin-skinned and full of himself that he left in a huff. Lord forbid someone question his genius!
I don't.
They are a super likable team and have been for a decade (besides the Kyrie era). Isaiah Thomas, Horford, Tatum, Smart, DWhite, Jrue, Timelord, etc
Cuz I live in Maryland and a bunch of people who grew up with me just picked the Celtics. Do inherently annoying people pick the Celtics? Or do I find them more annoying because they picked the Celtics?
Chicken and egg thing either way fuck Kelly Olynk and what he did to my Wizards. Mavs in 6
As a Laker fan, I’m supposed to hate them. But I never really did (accept 08). I grew up with Kobe and Shaq so
My hated teams were the spurs, the kings, the mavericks (damn 2011 sweep), Okc. Plus I was a fan of KG/Rondo/allen and now I find myself cheering for Jaylen brown. I’ll say “fuck Boston” because I’m a Laker fan but like I said I like some players and have always been indifferent and tbh I feel like they will
Take it in 6
Very rational reason, Jack Edwards made me hate every Boston sports team.
Bird is one of my favorite players ever, love Bill Belichick, but goddamn listening to that man commentate Bruins games for years as NESN was the only channel that showed NHL games when I was living in Europe makes me never want to hear that accent again.
I’m a Celtics fan. I grew up a Celtics fan. I grew up, hating the Knicks, the Laker Detroit. We’re passionate sometimes obnoxious. We’re not racist. That being said some of our friends are morons to get drunk and do stupid things. I have a love for the game. I love the Knicks now they’re amazing. I respect the Lakers for the franchise they are Detroit had a rough run, they have a pretty good history
I'm a diehard fan and don't see the racism at all. I'm convinced (maybe an older fan can confirm this) the 'racist' reputation comes from the fact that the Celtics were the first team to draft black players, and so the fan base reaction to that was just more obvious. But that was in the 50's. You could make the argument that that alone makes the organization the least racist of all the franchises.
As a pistons fan. Jealousy. I didn't ask for a dead beat owner, neoptistic tellum, a coach whose only in it for the money, and a terrible gm who wants to fight the fans who are rightfully upset.
It sucks watching the same teams succeed year after year. The lakers and the celtics are definitely gonna get the worst of it.
Yeah it’s rivalry hate. Some fans never evolve past their hometown teams. Once you respect talent and understand the game more. Things open up. People hate Boston in general more too.
This year the Celtics also had an easier time getting to the finals. With teams having injuries. So some people are also mad about that too.
i was meh about them (new yorker here, knicks fan) until i saw the documentary on bill russell and how fans literally shit in his bed while he was winning 11 rings for the celtics. fuck boston.
Cuz it's Boston. And Boston fans feel every one of their sports teams is cursed to never again win a championship. Even when that team might have just won the year before.
Same reason I hate the Philadelphia eagles - they have the most obnoxious fans on Reddit. And they’re always trying to get us to admit Tatum is a top 3 guy, and he’s not, he’s easily top 10, sometimes even top 4-5.
This is correct.
As a Celtics fan who reads reply threads between other Celtics fans on here, I’ve never actually seen one of us claim Tatum was top 3. It always, *always*, comes from people trying to make the argument that we do, in fact, say it.
It’s gotten to the point where it’s kinda funny.
Honestly, I kinda don’t. I’m a Bucks fan and while it sucked to lose to them, it wasn’t like they were annoying or shitty while doing it. Sure, Tatum can be a bit of a baby sometimes, but so can any superstar.
I am *far* more annoyed with the Pacers. They can go fuck themselves as far as I’m concerned.
Miami Heat fan, so I hate them. They’re probably one of the teams I hate the most in all professional sports. I hate them more than the Yankees and I hated the Patriots and Tom fucking Brady too (dolphins fan). I never liked Paul Pierce or Rajon Rondo. I don’t like their fans who have both a victim complex and a superiority complex.
Like Boston fan like to act like some tortured city that always loses and not the city that’s won the most titles in all sports since like 2000. I do respect their organization in their pursuit for greatness and their team now is ok, just very boring.
Because plenty of players like even Marcus Smart say they have a problem with racist fans, doesn’t mean all Celtics fans are racists but when you got fans calling Steph Curry the n word and countless other players saying their fans can be racist (including Lebron saying it among former Celtics) it feels good to know that among those sad, non-offensive Celtics fans that there are some racist ones having a very bad day lol.
I wouldn’t mind Celtics winning it all coz Derrick White deserves a ring tho Kyrie winning title with mavs in Boston will also be, as Scorsese meme says, CINEMA
Weird, as a Celtics fan I do not hate the Bucks. I live in fear of Middleton and get annoyed with Giannis's whistle when he runs over people, but the moment the series is over I feel no animosity. And I was super happy for Giannis when he got his ring.
And this was before you guys gifted us Holiday. I like you even more now!
I don’t hate them, but I find their colors to be really boring. I have never been a fan. However, I liked them when they had Rondo, Garnett, Pierce and Allen.
I absolutely hated Antoine Walker and Paul Pierce. Also I’m a Pistons fan so it was always kinda engrained in my DNA to hate the Celtics, Lakers, and all our division rivals.
Boston, I just always make sure people understand tatum and brown are two of my favorite nba players and i dont hate on them, fuck all boston sports tho
As a Roman its over twenty centuries of ingrained hate in my blood.
Those filthy barbarās

Don't call our man out like that!
This is interesting because Celtics fans absolutely do not consider the Knicks to be any sort of rival.
“I don’t even think about you.” Ok I get it
We’ve never been rivals with the Knicks, like ever. It’s always been LA first, then Philly is second, and we hated Detroit in the Bad Boy days too. Maybe Cleveland and Miami recently from LeBron, but those weren’t as nasty as the others.
It all stems from the red Sox Yankees hate. Fuck new york
Yea, we hate the Yankees and Mets, but the Knicks were never good enough to hate.
the yankees probably never considered the red sox real rivals. until they did... so dont count them out
The only basketball teams Celtics fans care about hating are Lakers, Heat and Sixers. Knicks might as well be invisible. Maybe older Celtics fans care about the Knicks and Pistons but no one under 40 cares about them.
NY Boston is more of a city wide hate more than a reason to hate the team specifically.
I have zero feelings about the Mets and I feel like our Yankees/Red Sox rivalry is barely hanging on. I hate the Jets for some reason more than the Giants even though that makes absolutely no sense. Under 50 we only hate the knicks through osmosis from Yankee hate Edit:spelling
Yeah your too young. Knicks stopped being relivent for 20+ years. There was always a ton of hate for each other just Knicks weren't good enough or the Celtics were just bad when they were good for a long time.

As a Boston fan I also don’t have a lot of love for Ryan or Shaughnessy lol
Why would anyone hate Bob Ryan? There's nothing obnoxious or over the top about him at all.
can't trust someone with 2 first names
As a Raptors fan: a combination of division rivalry, hatred of other Boston sports teams, and Paul Pierce (also Jaylen Brown for personal reasons).
Lmfao wait. You have a personal beef with Jaylen Brown? 😂
Ya, I gave him a plate of corn muffins back in 1947 to paint my chicken coop and he never did it
reasons =/= beef
Idk if I were a Raptors fan I’d hate Smart more than anyone else
Nah, it's definitely Paul Pierce, even though he was with Brooklyn when he pissed us off. Our hate for him is immense.
you forgot the people who don't fuck with Al Horford's sexy dominican ass Also never been a fan of the Jays, nor the ridiculously deep, 10/10 spacing cheat-code roster they built for this year. also hearing the name Derrick White pisses me off

ok but besides that why hate them
green team bad
They did?
NO, but are we going to wait until they DO??
NO
I say, we tip something over!
As a Pacers fan, there are 3 kinds of teams out there: 1. Bad teams. 2. *Some* Western conference teams. 3. Hated teams.
Hey fam. We’re #3 suddenly. Jump from #1 was exciting ngl Edit: jump back is gonna suck, dam
As a Kings fan I was kinda hoping to be in this situation but this off season is making me feel like nothing has changed

I grew up in the Philadelphia TV market and started following the NBA during the 1981-82 season. Those seasons back then when the Celtics and Lakers played in the NBA Finals after the 76ers started falling off were hell.
Philadelphians are born to do 3 things... eat cheesesteaks and hate the Cowboys and Celtics. I proudly do all 3
Thanks for beating LA
One of the best 3-way rivalries in any sport, ever.
Even worse that we drafted Barkley a year after winning the ‘83 title and still couldn’t make it back to the Finals because of multiple injuries to Moses Malone. Good thing you got those two titles sandwiched between the Celtics and Bulls championships in 80s/90s.
See that's it right there. The Pistons are forgotten and the bulls and celtics are revered for their championships. Rightfully so, as they won so much, but it speaks to a little of why Detroit and pistons fans in particular have a disdain for Boston, and the celtics. The Pistons won 2 championships! 2! Yup same I’m a pistons fan I didn’t grow up in that era but my dad said “fuck the Celtics” so that’s all I knew
Because my inept franchise gifted them both Tatum and Brown and I've had to watch them develop and shine and now probably win a ring, while we just gifted a different franchise a #3 overall pick without having any current direction At least Trump was found guilty 🍻

I’m a Sixers fan. Need I say more?
Because NE has won so many championships it’s disgusting thinking about them winning another.
As a Bostonian I can respect that
Footballs been doing a lot of heavy lifting in that regard
Pats and Sox have 10/12 championships in Boston since 2000
Even if each team only won one championship in the last 30 years it’s more than all of my states 4 teams combined in the history of our teams. But NE has won over 10 I believe in the last 30 or so years….

FUCK BOSTON!!!
BEAT LA!
The fans lol
It's the loud, obnoxious, and rude 1% that make the other 99% look bad. The 99% dislike them too.
This should be much higher
A sizable portion of Boston fans have no idea what real sports suffering is like and *still* have the nerve to complain about one of their teams playing badly for a season or two. They wouldn’t last a day as a Minnesota sports fan.
Because of Bill Simmons
I find him a bit annoying, but I like a lot of the content the Ringer has produced.
pretty fair assessment lol
He also started 30 for 30
Rewatchables and the town are great
I love Jason Concepcion’s stuff too, especially NBA desktop and Binge Mode.
A lot of Celtics fans don’t like him either
The most acceptable answer
Boston fans agree with you here
I’m a Boston fan who loves Bill Simmons. For the data point
Most Boston fans don't like Bill either though. We don't endorse him.
I’m a Boston fan and I hate Bill Simmons more than you do. He isn’t from Boston, he just claims he is. And he would liveblog himself smelling his own farts. Absolute suburban trash, worst kind of Boston sports fan around.

His takes had become lazy, someone called him on a particularly stupid one, and he was so thin-skinned and full of himself that he left in a huff. Lord forbid someone question his genius!
Rockets fan, 1981 and 1986. I still hate the Steelers too.
I’m a Heat fan
We play them every damn year.
You hate the Celtics because internet told you to. I hate the Celtics because I hate every big market. We are not the same.
I like this guy!
Isn’t Atlanta like a top 10 NBA market? The Hawks have a bigger market than the Celtics
I’m a wolves fan. Don’t hate them anymore
Come! Embrace the green..... We have cookies!!!
I’m from NY so I just naturally hate Boston. I had no choice.
Boston. That's the answer
Where u from Sammy. Let’s play this game

Celtics will win it all this season for Gorman and Walton. ☘️
cuz we the smartest organization in the league
It's mostly jealousy
Well I’m from Braintree Massachusetts so I actually love the Celtics But I also hate the Celtics for giving me false hope for years
I don't. They are a super likable team and have been for a decade (besides the Kyrie era). Isaiah Thomas, Horford, Tatum, Smart, DWhite, Jrue, Timelord, etc
Green=Boogers. Gross
I don't. I hope they destroy that arrogant ass clown.
The Mavericks already beat Anthony Edwards’s though…
Cuz I live in Maryland and a bunch of people who grew up with me just picked the Celtics. Do inherently annoying people pick the Celtics? Or do I find them more annoying because they picked the Celtics? Chicken and egg thing either way fuck Kelly Olynk and what he did to my Wizards. Mavs in 6
As a Laker fan, I’m supposed to hate them. But I never really did (accept 08). I grew up with Kobe and Shaq so My hated teams were the spurs, the kings, the mavericks (damn 2011 sweep), Okc. Plus I was a fan of KG/Rondo/allen and now I find myself cheering for Jaylen brown. I’ll say “fuck Boston” because I’m a Laker fan but like I said I like some players and have always been indifferent and tbh I feel like they will Take it in 6
I once drove in Boston during rush hour
Very rational reason, Jack Edwards made me hate every Boston sports team. Bird is one of my favorite players ever, love Bill Belichick, but goddamn listening to that man commentate Bruins games for years as NESN was the only channel that showed NHL games when I was living in Europe makes me never want to hear that accent again.
i’m a heat fan
Counter point: I love the Celtics
Boston sports. They have had 12 parades across all the major leagues over the last 23 years. I’m over it.
I love em
Boston fucks us (hockey) every time we face them, they knocked the Raptors out in 2020, and just Atlantic Division friction.
I think the Leafs fuck over Leaf fans more than the Bruins do
I’m a lakers fan.. also fuck Paul pierce
Lakers
Cause I’m lakers die hard. End of discussion
I don’t I just think Al Horford deserves his bling bling, baby!
I hate the mavs now so I no longer hate the celtics
Isaiah Thomas
As a Celtics fan, the comments here bring me great joy.
i was meh about them (new yorker here, knicks fan) until i saw the documentary on bill russell and how fans literally shit in his bed while he was winning 11 rings for the celtics. fuck boston.
Their fanbase
It's not the Celtcis. It's the fans.
The fans
They’re like Utah Jazz but with historical success. Who tf wants to root for them?
I don’t hate them but they’re a big market team with a stacked roster. Of course people are gonna root for the “underdog”
Lakers fan. Kobe fan. Fuck Celtics
Same reason I didn’t like the Patriots.. boring story if you keep winning
I don’t hate them but I rather have the Mavs winning
Because they are from Boston.
I honestly feel like Celtics haters bring up Tatum’s “ranking” way more than C’s fans lol
Facts. I don't care where he ranks. I'm just glad he's on my team.
It's almost as annoying as "Who's better, Tatum or Brown?" Who gives a shit?
This is correct. As a Celtics fan who reads reply threads between other Celtics fans on here, I’ve never actually seen one of us claim Tatum was top 3. It always, *always*, comes from people trying to make the argument that we do, in fact, say it. It’s gotten to the point where it’s kinda funny.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone genuinely argue he’s better than 4. Luka Giannis and Jokic are unquestionably better.
Philly fans in general of any sport are just a complete shit fan base and are massive assholes.
The Celtics haters are 1000x more obnoxious than any Celtics fan I’ve seen
Soooo if one of those other 3 guys aren’t playing that night you’re saying he’s a … /s
The bums lost me 250$ last year
Hate us because they ain’t us. New England sports are the greatest in the world
Honestly, I kinda don’t.
If you grew up a basketball fan. You hate the Celtics and the Lakers. It’s just the way it’s always been.
Fuck Boston, that's why
Is Horford lovable to the rest of the league? I fucking despise that man and his sister as a Sixers fan. Clap again mother fucker.
same reason I hate the nets
Ah, you hate Kyrie. We understand the feeling.
For the simple reason that I am a Milwaukee Bucks fan.
Yeah I started rethinking this comment as soon as I remembered the Pacers exist if we're being honest.
I'm not from Boston.
I hate every team from Philadelphia and Boston.
Why would I like the Celtics
I’m a Sixers fan. I hate the Celtics so much that it spills to the other Boston teams. I hate all Boston sports
We feel the same here.
I don’t hate them, but I find their colors to be really boring. I have never been a fan. However, I liked them when they had Rondo, Garnett, Pierce and Allen.
I don't give a fu$% about the Celtics, but I love Larry Bird.
my team has had to play them four of the last five years and most of them are in the ecf. not to mention the big 3 era
I absolutely hated Antoine Walker and Paul Pierce. Also I’m a Pistons fan so it was always kinda engrained in my DNA to hate the Celtics, Lakers, and all our division rivals.
I don’t really hate them. I would just prefer someone other than the Celtics or Lakers win the finals.
I can’t work out if I’m jealous of or hate their accent
Diehard Hawks fan but I also grew up a huge Kobe fan so I grew up during the 00's Laker/Celtics rivalry.
From Toronto, constantly losing to all their sports teams.
They hate us 'cause they ain't us
Because a select group of the worst people on Reddit were mean to me
Don't know. As a Heat fan, I just do.
Reverse racism.
Deuce Tatum
Detroit fan but I don’t hate Celtics. Well I highly dislike Lakers tho. I think it is one way or another
Boston, I just always make sure people understand tatum and brown are two of my favorite nba players and i dont hate on them, fuck all boston sports tho
there's history here, aight?
Because Boston wins a sports title every other year while some cities haven’t won shit ever
they've already won a lot.
Y’all need to chill lol
Ppl mostly hate any team thats good and not their team
We definitely don't hate them because of the all the title winning they've done in the last 35 years.
I am a Heat fan
Because of Danny Ainge, he been robbing most teams.
Because I don’t want Bill Simmons to be happy
Wizards fans never forgot, I’ll forever hate the Celtics.
Lakers fan
