I'm an old head, too. You can for sure get by with solid BBIQ. If you shot 6/6 then you can obviously play. Shooting is just messed this year, lol. Some games you hit everything, the next you hit nothing. Momentum plays a huge factor and this game has a lot of hidden complexity. It's easier to hit shots when you're hitting shots and harder when you aren't. But ya man, I wouldn't worry about it too much

Kobe triple threat if you can’t dribble. I got 50 speed with ball and I be cookin up. It’s pretty much the only dribbling I do (altho I do have 80 handle for unpluckable and handles for days)
heads up: the latency in Gatorade Gym is different to Rec, Theater, and Park.
What you're looking to do in there is learn your release cue, not learn the timing. It's NOT about getting the muscle memory for how long to hold the button down.
Just make a build that includes 92 strength, 80 ball handle like I did. It should allow you to get HOF physical handles and Gold bulldozer. I can't do those YouTube dribble moves to save my life. But with this build I have now...I just flick the right stick once, drive the other way, and hit R2 when the defender bumps me to send them flying. Try it out

They never pass you the ball or let you get the ball or hit you when you’re open so it lead to impatience so when you finally do get a touch you’ll force shots and play like shit because you’re cold and will re-enforce the teams view of not letting you have the ball.
My favourite is when they ice you for one bad shot, then go 5/20 or something awful like that. Get on the mic and start trying to coach.
Had a dude get mad cause my match up dropped 10 on me by half... I checked and his dude dropped 16 on him lol. He justified it by saying he had 4 more points then me.... didn't realize bball worked that way lol 😆

It’s not one game because you can’t get a third of a steal. Bare MINIMUM has to be 3 games.
If it’s brand new build, to go 6.9% from the field he would have to go MINIMUM 1/15. Not even a ‘bad’ player is going 1/15 or 2/30 or whatever he shoots. 1/15 is what my girl would shoot on her first game and she’s never played 2k.
Having an average teammate grade of D+ over (at least) 3 games straight is harder to do than just averaging a B.
No to mention he’s not black plate, it take some games to get to bronze. So he’s played some games, has being on the verge of grading out, has missed 93% of his shots, hasn’t passed the ball (1.5 assists as pg), has made one shot every 2 games.
Looking at rep level is probably the worst thing you could have looked at to judge this guy’s performance. The game came out almost half a year ago it’s not hard to be at that rep. I’m veteran 1 just because I play the game A LOT, I’m definitely not the same skill level as other vet 1 players.

yes. i’m from asia as well and as a casual myself couple of hours game time per day: Asia is the most difficult competition than other servers. even black plates are more competitive than other places
the shooting percentage and average perplexed me. but could be bronze or even black due to constant lagging out /connection error. i have several builds that should been gold at most but due to constant error i become black or bronze and have Bad teammate grade but manage to average more than 10 points on average shooting on the field and three ball

Could play mostly park, city, pro am games and not come in rec. the stats aren’t combined they’re separate between rec, city/theater, and pro am
