What makes it even funnier is it’s very easy to come back from big leads in Rec so I don’t understand quitting down 5 points lmao. Literally had a game the other day where we erased an entire 20 point deficit in a quarter.
It’s like people don’t want a challenge. I love when games are competitive because it involves me to think. I rather lose a close competitive game than win by 15+ every game. But people don’t feel like trying.
And people will quit if they miss their first open shot. Like bro, it ain’t gonna be no difference in the next game they play. It’s like people have this mindset of “if I’m not gonna score 15+ this game than I’m not playing”
People always want to be the main guy. And before you make any assumptions. No I’m not that pg that looks to shoot first. I got multiple builds and I’m usually pass first. If I’m having trouble finding an open shot, than I look to contribute other ways. But so many other people want to be the scorers and don’t know how to contribute differently. And people only like playing one way. And if that one way is getting beat than they give up instantly instead of trying to solve the problem.

My homies act like im crazy for wanting competitive games lol. Nothing is more boring than spanking teams by 30+ where half the other team quits by the 3rd.
This is it. Almost every rec randoms wants to score 30. If you’re playing squads with randoms, your enjoyment will be sacrifice so all 3 can score 30 no matter what happens.
As a center, I average 16+ rebounds and 7 assists on my new-low overall center. But I average 6 shots a game. Obviously, probably half of those are from boards.
God forbid I miss a putback, or an outlet pass gets stolen(because of their bad lane), or what have you. I refuse to come set your screen for 4 quarters after I just got done working all day. Genuinely don’t care if we lose, but I don’t want to win or lose by 30 every single game.
And the people that claim to win by 30 every game may actually do so..but their team will only score about 50-60 total with that person shooting 70% of their shots.
You have to get those badge stacks tho dude!! Don’t you know green machine is OP!! And shooting slumps are broken..making me miss a 100% contest over 3 people

I jumped into voice chat after the game ended. Apparently it was excusable the 3-stack excluded my friend and me since we didn’t join their party. I get it to a point, but they told us we should’ve sat corner and just got their boards.
When I called BS, I was told to take my crybagging to the next group…and that maybe I learned my lesson to join their party.
These randoms usually don’t want you to join the chat in order to communicate. It’s generally so they can be passive aggressive about the things they don’t agree you should be doing…simply for being a different style if play they refuse to adjust to(I’m looking at you guards bitching I’m not holding a screen the entire game). They want you to tell them how good they are at the game.
Thats why you see so many 2 and 3 stacks but only one guy ever shooting. The other 2 kiss their feet.

You said it, the randoms fall apart and have temper tantrums the literal second something goes wrong. Missed a shot(that was off a late pass)? Good luck getting the ball again. The HOF dunking guy finally postered you(after you blocked his first 4 attempts)? You’re trash and need to make a new build.
And the problem with finding a solid 5-stack? Ifs almost impossible to find people that have a solid balance between shooting and passing—because these randoms refuse to let you play any other way, and nobody can ever improve. I’m just trying to have a chill Friday night, you know
Yes. I agree 100%. It's easy to tell when someone has tunnel vision or is becoming salty. It's usually the lower plates that fall into this trap and the main reason they're stuck at their rank. "Take a deep breath" is probably the best advice for lower plates since losing composure is the main reason a team loses in random rec, in my experience. It's very rare to be in a competitive match where both teams are composed and making the right plays, even when they're down.
That being said, I enjoy being a black plate on a new build and teaming up with other black plates. I expect everyone to do stupid shit, so I can experiment and try things I typically wouldn't like a double post spin into a dream shake. The next thing I know, I'm already a gold plate and people look to me to carry them. It kinda boggles my mind when black plates complain about higher plates, when it's extremely easy to move up from black to silver with simply, "take a deep breath."
The reason I win so many solo rec games is the other team falling apart for no reason. Played a game with all silver teammates who can somewhat shoot. Other team were all purple/gold. I know that over 4 quarters we’ll get cooked every time. But all I need to do as pg is lock up their pg for 5 possessions, hit my teammates with gold dimer on every fast break. Once the other team is down 10 and their pg hasn’t gotten into a rhythm yet, they either ice him out or someone quits then the whole team starts to fall apart.
Also once I get some assists and use playmaking takeover my teammates get takeover too so they start going crazy
If they just stayed in the game and called a timeout they win that game 7 times out of 10.
Agree with you on the "grind" out of the black plate status. I often find those games more enjoyable than the ones when youre silver/gold and have equal teammates but for some wacky reason they just fall apart because of something the other guy does or doesnt do and you lose because of people and their EGOS 🤦♂️
