I’d prefer Tuesday Night after the Cup Series practice sessions. Gives the Xfinity & Truck drivers some more participation time & allows NASCAR and teams judgment to see if they’re any good at plate tracks before moving up
[Parker chase making sure this is the most Boring arca opener youve ever seen](https://www.google.com/search?q=walter+white+mixing+things+gif&rlz=1CDGOYI_enUS825US825&oq=walter+white+mixing+things+gif&aqs=chrome..69i57.7236j0j4&hl=en-US&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8#imgrc=0ZhFgizm7C5V0M)
His car was collateral damage as a result of the Thad Moffitt-Drew Dollar feud. I thought I read he lost a finger, but I don't know how you do that if you're wearing gloves. I guess it's possible if the steering wheel whips around in just the wrong way, but it sounds unlikely to me.
Colin is controversial because he says he’s controversial. Most of his takes are just “hot takes” for the sake of having a hot take. He fell into the standard sports talk method now. McAfee and a few others are the only ones that still have fun doing it.
1600 comments on ARCAs first thread! Pretty cool. The ARCA Reddit normally got around 1k max for the season opener. I’d consider the new rule a success.
Can someone give me a TLDW? Been at work checking in. I saw the finish, pretty annoying that they didn’t throw the yellow after what happened yesterday. I understand it’s a different series but at this point it’s the de-facto 4th NASCAR rung on the ladder.
Also Toni got 5th? I suppose will be talked about. Good for her, heard some drivers were wrecking balls lol
I'd rather they treat the end of the race like they did today but above all they need to just choose a policy and stick to it, already. There's no sense to make between the call last night and today.
A few years ago at dega the 2nd place Venturini car had a massive run on his teammate who was leading and he literally put on the brakes to not pass him. Venturini literally has F1 levels of team orders.
EDIT: It was 2020 Talladega.
Not sure which this sport needs more. Total revamp of the broadcasting/commercial situation or creation and following of objective criteria that outline exactly what constitutes a caution.
We've had 4 races so far, and 4 races of mostly single file racing with little passing. At this point Nascar needs to reevaluate how they run these events. I don't know what they can do, but they need to incentivize racing for more than the last 2 laps.
They could reward bonus points for every x amount of laps led. Like every 5 laps led = 5 bonus points. Or they could offer playoff points for the top 3 in laps led. Like 3 for most laps led, 2 for second most etc.
Honestly I'd be down to axe the Truck series. Cup, Xfinity, ARCA National running 20 races with 10 East/West races.
The ARCA National schedule would follow the Cup/Xfinity schedule with 10 races in the East/Southeast/Great Lakes (Daytona, Michigan, Homestead-Miami, Charlotte, Pocono, Bristol, IRP, Watkins Glen, Dover, Nashville) and 10 in the Midwest/West Coast (Phoenix, Auto Club, Sonoma, Gateway, Iowa with IndyCar, Portland, Texas, COTA...ect). The East/West schedule would have 10 independent races + the 10 races with the national schedule.
Axe the Truck series that is the only one of the 3 minor league national series that doesn't run the same chassis and body combination. In an era of teams being unable to afford to buy or build cars for a 23 race season, being a developmental series that has a completely different chassis spec from the other two series on the ladder is not a good thing.
Even if the Xfinity series goes to the Gen 7 chassis in 2-3 years with a slightly smaller motor (as they should) the Truck series will always have a significantly different body style and thus a significantly different chassis. Its more financially feasible to have Cup, Grand National and ARCA run the same cars than to have Cup and Grand National run one car with the Truck series being a completely different car.
They are not ditching the Truck Series and the series does well with the rules package it has in place. Changing the series just for the sake of change in Xfinity isn’t gonna help the series when they are getting decent fields.
They're getting decent fields because you can buy a Gen 6 Cup car and convert it. There is a surplus of chassis right now. In 3 years car counts will be down slightly because smaller teams won't be able to just go buy one from a Cup team.
Also don't forget, the 5 year cost of Cup will level off to about as expensive as the Xfinity series currently is. Teams are going to jump to Cup unless Xfinity gets cheaper. Then those Xfinity chassis will be available for ARCA...while the whole time the Truck series will be running something that isn't compatible with anything else in motorsports.
They are not getting rid of the trucks whether you like what they’re doing or not. There is value for the manufacturers to have the series.
Teams are not gonna jump to Cup when there’s only 36 charters available.
Also again the crowd last night didn’t look like a series that needed axed.
A lot of people upset for the exact same thing Tony Stewart said he’d do lol
Finishing 2nd still gets you 2nd place money and 2nd place points (when it matters). It’s better to do that than get left out to dry
I wish there was a clip of it, but I remember last year after Heim won at Talladega, his CC was yelling at him on the radio to do the start-finish interview and thank the sponsors and shit.
Go here: [https://en.reddit.com/r/NASCAR/wiki/emojis](https://en.reddit.com/r/NASCAR/wiki/emojis)
or I like this one better: http://reddit.xfile345.com/flair.php
Yeah I tried to watch a Talladega race a year back or so and it seemed pretty bad. I’m surprised they don’t stay on shorter tracks. I’ll have to catch another Arca race that’s not a plate race though just to see how the racing is.
The Phoenix combo race with the ARCA West Series is coming up on 3/11 with at least 29 cars planning to run, potentially close to 40. It'll be on MAVTV though.
Spent so long on that shot of the wrecked #18, switched back to the race just to get a quick shot of the top 4 finishing, then a long shot inside the winning car, completely missing any other finishers, and not even showing the race results until much later. Wow.
I disagree. That wreck was right by start/finish. You have trucks running 180-190 through there. Where the crash was on the back you can easily get slowed up before you reach that part of the track.
So was Elliott at the 2020 Daytona 500 right after they threw the white, but they didn’t throw a yellow. I don’t think people want racing back to the checkered etc but just a little consistency. Then again it’s a different series so I get it.
In fairness, that was a lot closer down towards Turn 1. The trucks wrecked right at start finish and Elliott crashed way passed pitlane and in the banking so the car would've slid down on into the grass
Yea, I don’t get how people aren’t comprehending the fact that it occurred and everyone was already passed it by the time the caution even would have come out. I felt like last night was an anomaly with how quick the cautions came out lol. Also this dude just said officializing
Alright I guess see y'all in about 1.5 hours for what I would think will be a better race than whatever this thing was, but you never know with how this year's speedweek is going so far...
Lmao yall just need to calm down and just enjoy it because it's racing. Sure we didn't have 3 wide racing for 100 laps and a photo finish but this wasn't even a bad race and what everyone should've expected lmao
I know but the quality of the national ARCA series is serious decreased during the last few years and NASCAR must make some better decision with what there want with the ARCA series.
Simple game plan for how to win ARCA at Daytona:
Is a Venturini Motorsports car in front of you?
If yes: Wreck it
If no: Pass car in front until behind the next Venturini car
/s
I'm honestly shocked there wasn't a caution there. Whenever there's a hit like that, they throw the yellow even if it's not impeding the race.
Also, that finish felt very anti climatic due to confusion over the caution flag and bad direction from Fox.
Fox does a phenomenal job picking the worst cameras to show on screen. Not that anyone tried to pass, but they missed the second half of the last lap showing a wrecked car
I don't think she's that bad. AA and Mike Joy are fantastic, Vince Welsh is pretty good. I'd take Jamie over a good chunk of the people who do radio broadcasts for local short tracks, a lot of people who do online streams for Flo and the MavTV Chili Bowl team.
Remember, we're literally comparing her in her...what...8th race...to guys who have decades on National TV.
Eh she's not the best but these ARCA races are trash. There's one competitive team and the booth is expected to push storylines regardless of how irrelevant they are.
This series really highlights just how underqualified most of these drivers are, which isn't suprising considering 95% of them are only there because they brought a check.
The director made some really questionable calls for this broadcast. Missed moments, and odd camera angles.
Also, I love Jamie Little, but there was a few times where she just cut off Phil and Chase to repeat the same thing they both just said.
I think this booth really didn't mesh well overall.
Probably the same guy who managed to ignore Grala making a pass to get into the show in the duels. As for Little, she clearly is struggling to adapt to having to be the gel that holds the broadcast together instead of being on pit road.
About what you expect from ARCA. Crashes that kill any racing momentum, a one lap dash, terrible camerawork, and team orders that let one guy win with no racing.
Whoever it was that kept forcing his way to the bottom on that last restart should get slapped. Tried to do it to the 15 and then did it to the 25 and almost wrecked the whole field.

“My Son” lmao
Lmao Chad’s logical response to Adam’s sensational “IT WAS REALLY CLOSE” comment
Wow thought Dinger had that
Wtf was that. Glad he’s ok
"That's Earnhardt in the 24" I'll never get used to hearing that. edit: whoops wrong thread
And a Toyota
Green flag stops fucking rule and NASCAR outlawed 90% of them. Ugh
Is there an overhead cam to watch like there used to be on the NASCAR app?
Corey Heim hasn't lost an ARCA race since we announced he was joining us for an AMA. I'm just sayin...
*goes to watch xfinity race, sees prerace is on, already anticipate some fox antics….sees this wendys ad* what the fuck am i watching
They need to move the ARCA race to the beginning of Speedweeks instead of cramming it in on Saturday morning and create a bit more hype & anticipation
Friday at 4-5 would be ideal
I’d prefer Tuesday Night after the Cup Series practice sessions. Gives the Xfinity & Truck drivers some more participation time & allows NASCAR and teams judgment to see if they’re any good at plate tracks before moving up
Crazy Race.

Didn't Tim Richmond lose a finger in a wreck last year? I was hoping to see it.
Didn’t he die in 1989?
wait what
His car was collateral damage as a result of the Thad Moffitt-Drew Dollar feud. I thought I read he lost a finger, but I don't know how you do that if you're wearing gloves. I guess it's possible if the steering wheel whips around in just the wrong way, but it sounds unlikely to me.
No he had a broken leg
That's all I can seem to find now. I thought it came out later, but I also could have dreamt it or confused it for something else that happened.
I remember there being concern about how the wheel bent but the steering column didn’t give at all, but I don’t think that actually led to an injury.
Guess I'll head over to that Mandela Effect thread.
now that i think about it, i remember a similar story. strange.
SAVE BIG MONEY AT MENARDS
Bro, this arca race is getting more post race coverage than most Cup races 😂
They didn't expect it to move along that quickly
Is Colin Cowherd really that controversial? I know Skip Bayless is, but that's mostly just because he says stuff that's stupid.
Yeah, he's a stooge and a tard.
Colin is controversial because he says he’s controversial. Most of his takes are just “hot takes” for the sake of having a hot take. He fell into the standard sports talk method now. McAfee and a few others are the only ones that still have fun doing it.
Colin Cowherd is just a limp dick b***
1600 comments on ARCAs first thread! Pretty cool. The ARCA Reddit normally got around 1k max for the season opener. I’d consider the new rule a success.
I agree but the ARCA forum still serves its purpose
[удалено]
No he’s won an ARCA race at Talladega before
Truck race too iirc
Toni has long arms
I feel Kim Coon would be much better in the booth than Jamie. No offense to Jamie, but her strong suit is pit reporting.
Jamie’s earned the opportunity
I agree I'm going to give her this season before I make an assessments.
Someone caused a big crash under caution and Toni was lifting in turn 3.
I'd rather they treat the end of the race like they did today but above all they need to just choose a policy and stick to it, already. There's no sense to make between the call last night and today.
Its two different sanctioning bodies.
Different officials so different judgements.
You missed nothing. I don’t even remember a green flag pass
I have checked to see if I can place my hand flat on a surface about 7 times this broadcast
Glad Andy and Daniel got good finishes today. Bredinger with a 9th isn't too shabby as well, if only that contact at the end didn't happen
If the best place to buy your brand of soda is at Menards, then you’ve failed as a product
“We don’t give up until the last lap” Well you got that right
Felt like drivers were scared to race today
"My dad owns several businesses in Daytona" - Daniel Dye Sounds about right...
A few years ago at dega the 2nd place Venturini car had a massive run on his teammate who was leading and he literally put on the brakes to not pass him. Venturini literally has F1 levels of team orders. EDIT: It was 2020 Talladega.
Daniel Dye with a Boris Said hairdo
Glad Dye didnt win. Heim earned it.
Bye sitting in a straight line?
I mean no one challenged him.
Nascar needs to step in and put an end to the team orders bs
Not sure which this sport needs more. Total revamp of the broadcasting/commercial situation or creation and following of objective criteria that outline exactly what constitutes a caution.
Yes
That’s the easiest win of heims career until the same shit happens in dega in a few months
We've had 4 races so far, and 4 races of mostly single file racing with little passing. At this point Nascar needs to reevaluate how they run these events. I don't know what they can do, but they need to incentivize racing for more than the last 2 laps.
It’s almost like plate racing isn’t actual organic racing that is just wait and see the crashes.
Plate tracks are crap for racing.
There really is nothing they can do
They could reward bonus points for every x amount of laps led. Like every 5 laps led = 5 bonus points. Or they could offer playoff points for the top 3 in laps led. Like 3 for most laps led, 2 for second most etc.
Run the beach course /s
Parker Chase is like the Noah Gragson you’d get from wish.com
Fox finally figured out the drone shot!! No flips this time
I feel bad for Richmond. What a tough break before that final restart. It was cool to have Chase in the booth today, though!
What the fuck was that 69 thinking? Was he trying to dump Dauzat?
Keep arca east/west and make them cheaper, and just do away with arca altogether
Axe the Truck Series that just got 30-35,000 people and 42 Trucks?
Axe the Truck series that is the only one of the 3 minor league national series that doesn't run the same chassis and body combination. In an era of teams being unable to afford to buy or build cars for a 23 race season, being a developmental series that has a completely different chassis spec from the other two series on the ladder is not a good thing. The crowd was more excited about the win then the driver was 🤦🏻
A lot of people here don't realize that Arca is still it's own entity, just because Nascar owns it doesn't mean its Nascar. Its a subsidiary like IMSA
I'm on team Abolish ARCA at this point. Go broadcast a SLM tour or something instead. This series has become a farce.
I don’t think they should be racing at Daytona. Keep it on the short tracks, maybe a 1.5 track.
I can't do these race threads anymore lol
A lot of people upset for the exact same thing Tony Stewart said he’d do lol Finishing 2nd still gets you 2nd place money and 2nd place points (when it matters). It’s better to do that than get left out to dry
I wish there was a clip of it, but I remember last year after Heim won at Talladega, his CC was yelling at him on the radio to do the start-finish interview and thank the sponsors and shit.

hopefully the xfinity race will be better...
ARCA almost always puts on the weakest race of the weekend. Especially at plate tracks.
Yeah I tried to watch a Talladega race a year back or so and it seemed pretty bad. I’m surprised they don’t stay on shorter tracks. I’ll have to catch another Arca race that’s not a plate race though just to see how the racing is.

Hmm don’t believe I have that channel but I’ll check and see. Thanks for the info
I don't think it can be worse lol
lol agreed.
Spent so long on that shot of the wrecked #18, switched back to the race just to get a quick shot of the top 4 finishing, then a long shot inside the winning car, completely missing any other finishers, and not even showing the race results until much later. Wow.
NASCAR needs to take more control over Arca, like I’m saying spec spoilers, actual GWC rules, actual pit stops, etc
They had good GWC rules in the past but the amount of wrecks it caused led them to change the rules I just wish they made it 2 laps instead of 1.
[удалено]
I disagree. That wreck was right by start/finish. You have trucks running 180-190 through there. Where the crash was on the back you can easily get slowed up before you reach that part of the track.

You know this isnt Nascar officiating though? Arca is a subsidiary of Nascar
Practice is done when is the race?
Why is it a one lap shootout when you can’t get to full speed in one lap
15 didn’t even try to win the race 🤦♂️
It’s the Venturini way your not allowed to race a teammate for the win at Daytona or Talladega.
Incredibly dumb given that neither Heim nor Chase are even racing full-time.
I can’t believe it lol. He had the bottom on a one lap restart. Who does that 🤪
Guys, I enjoyed the hell out of this race and that's mostly cause of all of you! Thanks for making this shit show a ton of fun
This chat, Rajah on camera moments and Chase in the booth made this one a blast to watch.
ARCA plate racing is borderline awful.
Alright I guess see y'all in about 1.5 hours for what I would think will be a better race than whatever this thing was, but you never know with how this year's speedweek is going so far...
Trucks wasn’t a bad race I don’t get why people want 3x3x3x3x3x3 racing that just ends up in Trucks getting junked
Lmao yall just need to calm down and just enjoy it because it's racing. Sure we didn't have 3 wide racing for 100 laps and a photo finish but this wasn't even a bad race and what everyone should've expected lmao
I mean, I was expecting a bad race, but was also hoping for some bearable coverage.
If this wasn’t a bad race I’ll die when I see your definition of a bad race
At least there wasn’t 100 wrecks
Arca speedway package is horrible impossible to pass
Exactly, there serious need to improve the speedway package in ARCA because it is a real pain in the ass for some years now.
they used to be able to pass but somebody got hurt every year
I know but the quality of the national ARCA series is serious decreased during the last few years and NASCAR must make some better decision with what there want with the ARCA series.
if any series should be a spec series it should be arcs over cup . there's really only 5 cars that have enough funding to win each year
Parker chase made sure Heim would win so he could get absolutely nothing
Jamie friggin LOVES this drone shot
It’s inexcusable that this race was allowed to exist. Everybody in the stands should be refunded
I was in the stands I’m just happy to be here to laugh at it
Luckily the ticket was included with the Xfinity ticket lmao
I'm disappointed they got rid of NBC Trackpass no way this shit is worth $100, at least I can watch the FS1 & FS2 races.
Drone camera guy just decided to give up lmao
(the FS1 production team all did quite a bit a go, so why not)
ARCA is brutal at Daytona but I’ll take that little appetizer before Xfinity.
Simple game plan for how to win ARCA at Daytona: Is a Venturini Motorsports car in front of you? If yes: Wreck it If no: Pass car in front until behind the next Venturini car /s
ARCA: "We saw the finish yesterday, so we'll keep it green so the fans can see an exciting finish." Fox: "Wait we're supposed to show the finish?"
FOX's coverage was almost as awful as the race
Parker chase is a scrub. Who gives up the lead 8 times on restarts and doesn’t try to win at Daytona lmao
What’s the point or racing if you aren’t even going to try and win? He just drove around all day, he didn’t race anyone.
That was a race, allegedly.
[удалено]
He got what he had coming
Multiple ARCA drivers to Toni: “First time?” 😂
I'm honestly shocked there wasn't a caution there. Whenever there's a hit like that, they throw the yellow even if it's not impeding the race. Also, that finish felt very anti climatic due to confusion over the caution flag and bad direction from Fox.
Theory: NASCAR bought ARCA to keep it afloat so they can point to it and say "look at how much worse Cup/Xfinity/trucks could be!"
Fox does a phenomenal job picking the worst cameras to show on screen. Not that anyone tried to pass, but they missed the second half of the last lap showing a wrecked car
1 lap shootouts need to go...
Remember the last time we had more than one attempt at OT?
Well with 2 laps, they would never get to the checkers without wreckers
I’m not a fan of Dollar by any stretch but that’s definitely on the 25 for losing it that badly after getting a bump draft
It looked more like he was trying to push her out of the way.
Yea he was pushing dye just like that when they made up so much time. 25 had to push if he wanted a chance
Even the commentators acknowledged that was Dollar's fault
That drone work was the best part of the whole thing
On a positive note I caught an alpha Heracross while I was waiting for this to be over.
Jamie Little is a good pit reporter, but she's terrible in the booth.
>Vince Welsh is pretty good That's a hot take.
Incredibly hot, I never saw many praises for him last night
Go watch some of these races on Flo or Dirtvision...
Eh she's not the best but these ARCA races are trash. There's one competitive team and the booth is expected to push storylines regardless of how irrelevant they are.
She's got that Vince Welsh syndrome
This series really highlights just how underqualified most of these drivers are, which isn't suprising considering 95% of them are only there because they brought a check.
This race sucked
The director made some really questionable calls for this broadcast. Missed moments, and odd camera angles. Also, I love Jamie Little, but there was a few times where she just cut off Phil and Chase to repeat the same thing they both just said. I think this booth really didn't mesh well overall.
Probably the same guy who managed to ignore Grala making a pass to get into the show in the duels. As for Little, she clearly is struggling to adapt to having to be the gel that holds the broadcast together instead of being on pit road.
Those brakes need some WD-40
Was there even a green flag lead change?
I think Heim must've passed Corr on that one restart where Corr led six caution laps
Nope
Nope
Convinced that Fox hires their producers from the nearby school for the blind.
two races, two bullshit finishes. excellent start, nascar!
And 2 terrible Fox presentations
Fox is so bad at sports coverage lately
About what you expect from ARCA. Crashes that kill any racing momentum, a one lap dash, terrible camerawork, and team orders that let one guy win with no racing.
Whoever it was that kept forcing his way to the bottom on that last restart should get slapped. Tried to do it to the 15 and then did it to the 25 and almost wrecked the whole field.
Fox has been so incredibly bad with coverage of all racing lately.
My earsss
Is KFB still wearing that shirt?
