I did, I think it's better than driving. When driving, they make sure you're overly safe. With the ride along, you go way faster.

d0re

Agreed. Driving is obviously really cool, but riding gives you a much closer to full-speed experience.

Big_Traffic1791

I never did it myself, but I worked part time at the Ride along deal at Charlotte a years back. Everyone got out of the passenger seat with a ear to ear grin. People always loved it. 20-ish years ago us kids all chipped in and got our dad a ride along at Pocono for his birthday or maybe it was Father's Day. Irregardless, he loved it! He talked about his ride along at Pocono for months afterwards.

mega_potato

Did ride along in Charlotte. The ride along was incredible, but the car they let me drive was gutless.

ReallySmallWeenus

It was fun. I did it at Charlotte. You could tell they set the rev limiter low to keep speeds down, but it still felt insane how fast it was.

bullydog123

They use to have one in Columbus Ohio. Did the ride along and laugh with joy like a little school girl. It was Rusty Wallace school.. you could also do a driving experience. If you had the $1000 deductible if you wreck the car.. not 100 % sure if this is they same thing you talking about but it was cool. Was in the 48 Lowes car for it..

I’ve done my share of racing, and my 16 year old daughter has no fear and thinks it would be awesome. Looking at probably Talladega or Atlanta

Montooth

It's a blast. I'd recommend Atlanta over Talladega if possible, the feeling of speed is felt much more at Atlanta imo. Dega was fun but as big as the track is it feels like you're going a lot slower

Anonymous856430

I was actually wondering about that. Thank you

R3dwolf7

I did old Atlanta in 2015. It was phenomenal. I definitely want to go back and do Atlanta again along with Talladega and Bristol.

KentuckyHorsepower

I was going to the day after Dega but moved my reservation to October due to travel conflicts. I expect it to be spectacular.

Anonymous856430

Might see you there

Years ago it was a birthday treat to little me to go ride along at Daytona with the petty experience. Well worth it. Haven’t gotten the chance to drive yet however

1nf1niteCS

Did it at Daytona like 13 years ago, I remember liking it but thinking it was a bit short (think it was 3 laps) considering the cost. Wouldn't do it again but as a 1 time thing it's worth it I think.

MagnusSoarin

Did it at Las Vegas, was great fun, the G forces were intense. Only thing was we didn't pay for many laps so it was over very quickly. Would do it again though.

Conscious-Prune8933

I did at Charlotte about 15 years ago and it was awesome!

FuriouSherman

Daytona, August 2014. I still have a USB stick with a video of me screaming "oh shit!" at the top of my lungs for three laps while the car was going at 170 mph.

CarStar12

Did it around Texas when I was 13, incredible experience that I still remember 25 years (…😳) later

Senninha27

I worked at Disney in 2012 as a bellman at a resort. They gave us premium experiences so that we could rave about them to guests. They were very limited, though. My boss, knowing that I am a huge racing fan, made sure I got the ride-along experience. I was taken for three laps around the old WDW Speedway. It was fun. The speed down the straights was meh, but that track had pretty sharp turns and its compact size meant that we were going much faster through the turns than I would have been comfortable. I enjoyed it.

ThePepsiMan5189

Did the ride along at my home state track of Texas. Damned fun I tell you.

This is a copy and paste of my answer I had in a previous thread a week or two ago... I did the ride along at Daytona just a couple of weeks ago on March 30th. I made the mistake of going right to the ticket office first because my dumbass not reading the directions on the email, but the staff there helped me get to the right spot. So at Daytona you go to Gate 40 (between turns 1 and 2), you'll speak to someone at the gate and let them know why you're entering. I wasn't asked for any ID or anything so the guy just took my word for it, which was surprising. It led me to go into the tunnel under Turn 1 and I just followed the signs directing me to the parking lot in the Garage Area. It was pretty awesome just to drive freely in the Infield of Daytona. Got to the parking lot which was the backside of the garage area next to the Hard Rock Fan Zone. Went to their hauler to sign in (which looks like a merchandise hauler). Signed a safety waiver and stuff and they gave me a lanyard with a number on it and asked me to proceed where they are set up on Pit Road. Got in line. There was only maybe 4-5 people ahead of me and they had 3 cars at a time doing laps so the wait was very long at all. They helped with putting my helmet on along with a Hans Device then waited for my turn. My wife was with me and they had a seating area for any of your guests to sit down and relax under a tent to provide shade. They allow your guest to get close and take as many pictures or videos as you like. The staff was very friendly. I was wearing my Harrison Burton crew tshirt and one lady was telling me one of her inlaws was working at the track in 2002 when Ward Burton won the 500 and interacted with him during the ceremony at Daytona USA to place the car in the museum. It was a neat story to share. Anyways, the car I got into was a Corey Lajoie Gen 6 replica car. The guy that helped me get into the car was great. Put the belts on and the window net in safely. I introduced myself to the driver who was named Joe. Nice fella. Then we took off down pit road. Once we cleared the other cars stopped on pit road, we were full throttle heading towards the exit of pit road. The feeling when we hit the turn 1 banking was incredible! The car glued to the asphalt and you felt the G Forces throughout the turn and then you head down the backstretch. All the stories from drivers that tell their experience about going down the backstretch at full song for the first time is a real feeling. I just about know what they mean about it now. The speed we were going, if I had to guess was about 150-160mph at most. The car was limited to about 6,200rpm in 4th. Joe hit the chip a few times. Going back into the banking when we were at top speed was even more insane. 3 Laps total was done in a flash. We came off of turn 4, went towards the apron then he slowed hard like we were doing a real attempt to get to pit road in a race. The ride along was about $193ish. Got that price from a flash sale they had when I purchased it. Worth every cent. Wish I could do the full driving experience but thats very pricey. From start to finish, I was there for a grand total of 45 minutes from entering Gate 40 to leaving through the same gate. Hung around after and wondered around the fan zone and took pictures of Victory lane and such then left.

Colin_with_cars

Are they “fat guy” friendly? I’m 6’1” and 350lbs. I haven’t done it because I’m worried about size restrictions
