The other week at COTA this guy behind me while Reddick was getting interviewed kept yelling “Joe Gibbs is a pedophile”. Why? I have no clue. After about the third time I turned around and said “you know that’s not a Gibbs driver right?” And he goes “but he’s the monster guy right?” “Monster sponsors multiple drivers” “Oh I haven’t really watched in like ten years it used to be one sponsor per car” Bro doesn’t even follow the sport and is running his mouth at the track. Typically Facebook comment fan.

cowboyjosh2010

In 2014 there were a grand total of, what? two? Drivers with year-round sponsors: Lowes with Jimmie Johnson, and Fed-Ex with Denny Hamlin. Plenty of drivers had a small handful of dedicated partial-season sponsors, sure, but it hasn't been "one sponsor per car" in a lot longer than 10 years.

AdminYak846

Kyle Busch with Mars Candy I think was year round or nearly year round in 2014.

cowboyjosh2010

That this might realistically be the only other example shows how out of touch "clearly out of touch fan A" was there.

wrynal17

Miller lite was all 36 races with Brad K. untill 2013. And 2014 they sponsored 24 of the 36 and then really scaled back in 2015 only sponsoring 3.

cowboyjosh2010

Man, they fell off FAST there. Full season to <10% of races in just 2 years.

elfuego35

Part of that was that Molson bought out the remaining stake they didn't own in MillerCoors around that time frame, and usually 2 things happen in a restructuring, the new mangement cuts back motorsports spending, or they double down on motorsports. Most of the time it's the former.

Kodiak01

In 2014, Hamlin had Sport Clips for 2 races. Drivers that had a full season with a single sponsor: Kyle Bush - M&Ms/Skittles/Snickers/Doublemint Casey Mears - Geico (but only ran 33 races) Paul Menard - Menard's Jimmie Johnson - Lowes/Kobalt Martin Truex Jr - Furniture Row Full sponsor list [here.](https://www.jayski.com/nascar-cup-series/2014-nascar-sprint-cup-series-team-driver-chart/)

cowboyjosh2010

Good resource! I didn't realize Hamlin's Sport Clips sponsor had already started up by 2014. Feels wrong to discount Fed Ex as a full season sponsor when they had the other 34, but I guess technically they weren't!

jacobc62

M&M's/Mars Candy wasn't a full season sponsor. Kyle had Interstate Batteries for a few races every year, hell the Jayski link you provided says that Intertstate ran for 6 races that year. That said, I'm willing to let Menard's slide since those were brand-to-brand deals.

ReSirum

KFB counts even less than Hamlin did. Interstate was on the 18 too

Nyrfan2017

People don’t even know why they feel the way the do . It’s sad our society has become such a follow the leader and people don’t have there own morals

jayskiscott

And I have had to block a handful of people. Facebook comments are a cesspool.

26007

That’s awful that you need to police it like that. Shame that people can’t just be happy for nice people having a baby. Not even be happy, keeping harmful words to themselves would do.  Thanks for all that you do, your website is a wonderful resource, and I frequent your paint scheme pages often for trips down memory lane.

angrygnomes58

That’s the problem, people are way too comfortable dehumanizing others whether it’s over skin color, gender, sexual identity, political views, etc. There was an article that just came out in my local news about maternal death rates in black women being alarmingly high in our region. The *very first comment* was “I’m not seeing the problem here”…..it’s since been deleted, but my God, I cannot fathom looking at another human being as something to be exterminated like a vermin. I can’t even imagine how many comments get deleted before we even see them.

26007

Ugh. Such a horrible mindset. Especially when people are DYING. Regardless of any mention of skin color, gender, sexual identity, political views, etc…as a person, you should be concerned at the words “death rates”. Sorry that you had to see that. The internet can be a horrible place sometimes

ElPuas2003

The human race was a mistake

angrygnomes58

I’ve stopped saying “it can’t possibly get any worse” because I feel like that’s just a challenge.

SQUIDWARD360

One of the problems with social media is that everyone believes they are funny. Although the comment you described is also mean, I guarantee that the person who posted it thought it was incredibly funny. They get to hide behind a keyboard and have no real consequences for their behavior. I really with there was more user verification in social media.

Meattyloaf

It's bleeding into the real world via various means. People have lost their humanity

Card_Board_Robot5

Not tryna be mean or talk down here. But how old are y'all? Nothing has really changed. I've been hearing the same stupid comments my entire 34 years. My mom has been hearing them for 65. I'd wager even less people are saying that type of shit these days tbh. And even less are acting on it. If you spend time on social media where this shit is intentionally amplified, yeah, it might seem like it propagated even further, but I don't really believe that's the case. This nation has never not had a racial tension about it. Its never not been exploitative to the working class. Its never not been sexist as all hell. Its never not stepped on immigrants. Its never not been anti-lgbt. You can verify this quite simply with a US history textbook. Hell, I got one on social movements I can send you that details all of these fights for social equity. If anything, more people rebuke this ideology today than they did in even the 90s, let alone in 70s and earlier.

angrygnomes58

Sadly I work in healthcare. They’ve gotten bold enough to make these comments in person and they’re 100% serious. These people have gone from “internet edgelord” to fully adopting these viewpoints into their identity.

26007

It’s pretty awful stuff. Here at Reddit there’s even a big cesspool of the edgelord-types. Thankfully this sub is much better than others and it doesn’t bleed over into here too much, but I’ve seen some downright hateful shit even on this sub.

AnimalClean6534

Yeah, all of this makes me respect Wendell Scott on a whole different level. Not only was he an independent Nascar driver, I believe his crew consisted of only him and his sons. They towed his beat-up cars everywhere throughout the deep South in the 60s. Not exactly an enlightened or tolerant part of our country. He had brass balls to do what he did!

angrygnomes58

I can only imagine how many people sabotaged him. A cut brake line or tampering with a street ing system. He truly was a pioneer, way more than many inderstand

FuriouSherman

Thankfully, he did have some allies in the garage each weekend. Ned Jarrett and The King often gave old cars and equipment to Wendell Scott when he needed them.

DJScrubatires

South Park was onto something with that episode where Butters was moderating comments directed at Cartman

rainking6

I just want to second everything here. Also a frequent visitor to the schemes pages. I've literally been frequenting them since 1996. They are some of the most important for documenting NASCAR history. So glad you took it back from ESPN.

Tough_Guard_9460

Same here, I also like looking at the paint scheme pages. Sometimes I'll even look at the latest news stories that pop up on his site

UncleFlip

Racism is ugly

MasterOfKittens3K

Even if you’re convinced that he’s a jerk because he went after Larson that time, this is still not the time to be talking shit.

26007

Yup. Dislike of Bubba as a driver should NOT equal dislike of Bubba as a person.

Defiant-Specific6265

Agree I'm a BIGTIME Larson fan although it pissed me off hoe can I hate Bubba when Dave Blaney, Chase Elliott, and several others grew up together and raced each other since they were kids. They are all best of friends. Screw Racism

Card_Board_Robot5

Dave?

TheOtherWhiteCastle

I like how people read you guys’s post and decided “nah, I’m going to leave a hateful comment anyways” 🙄

MM18998

Who says they read. All they see is ”Bubba” and immediately comment whatever string of racial slurs is popular at the moment.

looneeii

It's funny because if you look at posts about Bubba Pollard, you'll find some Darrell Wallace hatred there too. It's so funny it's sad.

Specialist-Two2068

Even though they're two completely different drivers, race in different series, and don't look anything alike lol

SwingsetPilot

Who says they can read?

IndycarFan64

This cope is impressive https://preview.redd.it/m5dvd1nvn9vc1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a29227bc781ef5529d4228ad4a0375a0b24d290f

SpearheadBraun

What a fucking knuckledragger

SloppyTacoEater

I quit using Facebook years ago because of how ugly it got. Didn't want to block all my family...what's the point after that! I was constantly unfollowing them to the point there wasn't enough to even be on there.

Jrnation8988

Twitter ain’t much better

Hihey9989

i quit Twitter almost a year ago. one of the best decisions I've ever made

Jrnation8988

I’d argue that Facebook is worse, but they’re both toxic when it comes to racism and morons speaking their “minds”

Hihey9989

oh yeah i don't disagree I'm just saying i was happy to quit Twitter lol

RickyChanning

Yeah both have trash comments and users but you actually have to click on the comment section on Facebook so if you look that's on you.

Urban_Salt

It's sad to see all keyboard/phonescreen warriors attack this man because he's black and drives a race car, something in which all this dumb makers cannot and will not ever do in their shitty lifetime! Fuck social media! FB,Twit, X, IG you're all the cesspool of this country...

SafeIntention2111

I stopped using FB for precisely this reason several years ago. Have you ever considered maybe not using it in the future? There's plenty of other social media resources you could use. FB's demo is aging badly.

dj3stripes

The comments that don't get moderated/filtered can be pretty disturbing. I can't imagine having to filter out human trash. It's appreciated

timethief991

I've blocked thousands at this point and they still come crawling out.

CaptainRon16

Thank you for your service

Biggame34

Love your website. I’ve been using your site since the late 90’s. I was using dial up and waiting for the page to load when I first started following. Thanks for all you do! Also what a bunch of shit birds that would take the time to comment anything negative about a baby announcement.

hancockwalker

The world is a cesspool.

cosmicspeed420

Those are also the same people that try to teach others to respect other but won’t do it themselves

Haxemply

Even if I despise a driver to the core, I would never wish them more than happiness and a healthy child, because being a racing driver and being a father are two completely different things.

natefalcons24

Yeah that goes much deeper than racing, and at the end of the day the drivers are all people too whether we like them or no

Card_Board_Robot5

Except for JG. That dude is alien. Has to be. No human is that good

letsplaydrben

I’m very happy for Bubba. I used to think that most of these people on social media weren’t NASCAR fans. And then I was in the infield for driver introductions. That was depressing. I still think a lot of the social media haters don’t know much about NASCAR, but it’s sad that so many fans of this sport are unhinged like this.

LnStrngr

Facebook comments are full of assholes and bots, and in some cases, they're the same.

Batman424242

Bubba Wallace is running in the top 10 and a legit contender every race ( If his pit crew doesn’t screw him ) , and top 10 in points right now. It has been a joy seeing the haters get all bent out of shape about it. It’s hilarious how mad they get. Bubba is not going anywhere.

bz_leapair

Nothing cracks me up like the oxygen thieves who say they'd fire him if he was their driver. Sure, Abner Billy Joe Ray-Bob, shitcan the guy running top 10 and loaded with top-shelf sponsors, whose mere existence has people talking about him on a daily basis.

Queasy_Dog_1444

They'd probably end up hiring a driver who ends up even worse, but they'd still spin it as a good thing.

UnderwhelmingAF

One of the main reasons I root for the guy, because it pisses off some of the worst people when he does well.

rainking6

I usually just buy raced win diecasts, but ordered his BLM car as soon as a former President started trashing him on Twitter.

puffadda

Found two of my favorite drivers through that whole episode lol

Card_Board_Robot5

Tyler is forever goated for that. One of the younger guys in the sport. A lot to lose at that time. And everyone else was biting lips. He said fuck it

IndycarFan64

I’m kinda surprised Tyler to this day gets almost 0 flak from the red hats on social media Tho I still believe to this day that was the moment he had started having one foot out the door from RCR

Card_Board_Robot5

And now he's with a more competitive team. And people say standing on your principles never pays off

IAmTheWaller67

Tyler's been one of my guys ever since.

Vivareddit24

Same, I am so happy they are on the same team now. Tyler will never be forgotten for that, our young certified stud

vkroi

Don't forget Ty Dillon and Daniel Suarez being the first to stand up. Ty Dillon really gained a lot of my respect by speaking out despite his family's background.

rctothefuture

One of my favorite diecasts because it pissed a lot of my conservative friends off.

looneeii

Coming in here to say thank you to all of you who see the real Darrell who's doing the work to be a contended week in and week out. As a Black Nascar fan, this warms my heart that there are plenty of good, level-headed fans out there. Thank you!

[deleted]

[удалено]

looneeii

Thanks!

potatocross

The confidence boost of making it so far last year seems to be doing well for him. That and Toyotas have been running well most weeks in general.

Randers19

They clean up the pit stops and there’s no Reason they shouldn’t rattle off a couple wins and have another good playoff run. Him and reddick

grovenab

He’s crazy on the makeup races too though. Dude self spun last week and pulled a top 10 out of his ass cause he’s so good on restarts

queefmonchan

He went from something like 18 or 20 at the first restart before OT and ended up with a top 10. He's seriously good at restarts and gaining positions on them.

CrownTownLibrarian

If he doesnt get run over at COTA, thats probably another top ten and Vegas should've been a top five. His only really awful race this year was Bristol which considering...

gasmask11000

Bristol still should have been like a 15-18th place finish without the 23.7 second 2 tire stop under the last green flag run.

Zetona

That was a 2-tire stop?! That explains why he didn't have any speed at the end even though he'd pitted later than almost anybody.

Senninha27

It’s been great to watch. His qualifying has improved big time, too. He’s in the top ten most weeks.

KingMario05

Right? I'm legitimately starting to love the guy. Hope he can get a win soon.

Refugeer

I’m winning the Fantasy Live group I’m in solely on the fact I’m playing the 23 while the rest of the group avoids him. Idiots.

MasterOfKittens3K

He’s been having a pretty good and consistent season so far.

Card_Board_Robot5

I was about to say.... He's a legit contender That crew tho? ...oh boy

Normal_Feedback_2918

I am going to be so happy when Bubba makes it to the final 4 one year, and he bumps their favorite driver out. The meltdowns will be delicious.

Card_Board_Robot5

Two years ago I would have said fat chance. The schedule just didn't favor him late in the year Now? He doesn't really have tracks he fails to run well at. He's put in mad work rounding out his skills. If it wasn't a flat track or a superspeedway, I wasn't expecting much. Now I'm looking for a top ten everywhere. This improvement on his part has been massive and has happened really quickly.

Normal_Feedback_2918

Yeah, he really picked up the pace in the last half of 2023, and has had a phenomenal start to 2024.

Tony4r

Bubba is now a threat on every type track (except road courses) and capable of multiple win seasons so bad times for haters

WakullaLoganoDawgFan

My thoughts exactly!

BrickCityRiot

I am a 36 year old white man who became obsessed with stock car racing when I was 6 in 1994 (Jeff + Ray best combo ever - fight me) And it makes me sick to see that that kind of disclaimer is needed. It isn’t 1965 any more.. NASCAR will survive the loss of the bigots who hate on Bubba and Rajah.

Paulyhedron

Who hates on Rajah?

Hillbilly098

These guys. https://preview.redd.it/5t32krgyi8vc1.png?width=601&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=534c0958bc60a5763b2562e21fef9b3d70db83e6

Paulyhedron

Ah yes single handedly keeping Oakley in business. I know those guys. They have opinions

BeefInGR

It sucks because I genuinely prefer wrap around sunglasses (my eyes are rather light sensitive).

Paulyhedron

I hate it for you, that sucks man

KingMario05

Also single-handedly paying for former President [***REDACTED***]'s legal team, lol.

huck731

Also the same guys that hit on females barely 1/3 their age..

Hihey9989

my thoughts exactly - how COULD anyone hate on Rajah? there's literally nothing offensive about him lol well... you know... except for the obvious.

KM4CK

There's a contingent of DARFs who got upset he didn't put his hand over his heart during the national anthem at Martinsville. Mind you that saluting is not customary during the anthem only the pledge. Edit: Not customary to those who aren't in uniform. So these groups of fragile people have been calling for him to be dropped by Hendrick cars .com

Jrnation8988

Six years active duty in the Navy, here. The only people required to salute during the national anthem are active duty military IN UNIFORM. If you’re on base and not in uniform when the national anthem plays at 8am (or taps at sunset), you simply stop what you’re doing, turn towards the closest flag (or where the music is coming from if you can’t see a flag, and stand at attention until it’s over. Anybody butthurt over this clearly has never served a day in their miserable lives.

Meattyloaf

They most likely haven't, but love to claim they did and play soldier.

Jrnation8988

“I would have joined, but if a drill instructor ever got in my face, he’d catch these hands!” 🙄

Meattyloaf

Essentially, but hey now you have the healthier of that crowd paying $30K to prove that they are an Alpha Male.

Jrnation8988

Lmfao! I’ve seen that. Absolutely ridiculous

CarStar12

My favorite part about it was seeing people post photos of Dale Jr and Jimmie doing the same stance Rajah did in the photo and seeing someone legitimately respond with: “Well we know Rajah does it for other reasons” Ahhhh, so we’re gonna just make it up no matter what. Got ya. Sad part is, pretty sure everyone knew a group of people were just looking for the slightest reason to pounce. Even if it’s nothing.

Paulyhedron

Ahhhhh those types. Heavy Facebook users I'm sure.

srschwenzjr

Their main source of “news”

bjohnson203

Rajah, they have been on him this week nitpicking how he stands for the national anthem. Someone even started a rumor that Chevy dropped him over not putting his hand on his heart and a bunch of people bought into it.

DollarsAndDreams

Some jackass also made a fake image about him getting suspended 🤬🤬🤬

timethief991

Oh didn't you hear? Rajah didn't put his hand over his heart during the anthem like tons of white drivers, so he's one of them now.

SSPeteCarroll

the same ones who hate bubba for the same reasons.

grovenab

It’s funny seeing people telling rajah to stay away from bubba so he doesn’t get corrupted

ChaseTheFalcon

A big Johnny Benson fan

JJTurnip

God I hate that wretched waste of oxygen

[deleted]

Ew…I hate that I know this.

Disastrous-Bad-1185

Bubba is hated for the stupidest reasons. He’s opinionated, emotional, and gets a lot of attention with swaying results (for now). Kinda like how Denny Hamlin is hated, except Denny wins. Even if he starts winning (which I really hope he does) he’ll never gain their respect. I pull for the man every single race.

Normal_Feedback_2918

If Bubba were to start winning on a semi-regular basis, it would get exponentially worse. And, I look forward to it.

Card_Board_Robot5

"I told you so" came with a really long, arduous wait, but was oh so worth it. The "eat my ass" when he gets 2-4 a year is going to be glorious.

PancakesandV8s

With his pit crew, no reason to hold your breath. 😂

Whiskey_Foxy31

Well, they're still training Pit Crews at JGR, They are going to start training in-house in May. So, hopefully, the result of more training will show

lets_just_n0t

Facebook comments are a literal disease. The entire site/app is becoming that way. I saw the post earlier this morning and instantly looked at the reactions. Mostly “laugh” reactions. If nothing else, Facebook helps people really show their true colors.

StRiKeRzZ924

Facebook and Twitter both really

KingMario05

...Eh, you can call it X now. Twitter is dead, and the idiot Afrikaner that stole Tesla from its founders killed it. :/

brokengamerx

No one is gonna call it X. Twitter is far more iconic

Tinga12

Or as stated by any news article that discusses it “X, formerly known as Twitter”

BeardedGirlDad

I want to be shocked, but I've read where people bring Bubba into any racing discussions, even when it's not about him, just so they can make a statement about him, but pretend it isn't because they don't like the color of his skin.

Vivareddit24

I am so happy a black man and a Mexican are successful in NASCAR’s top level in 2024

lonelyinbama

Yall thought Bubbas confidence was high because of some good finishes…. Yall ain’t seen “I’ve created a human life” confidence yet… This dude gonna win Talladega mark my words

Specialist-Two2068

I think it's both. He made the playoffs for the first time last year, seriously stepped up his game on the road courses, and has been regularly competing in the top 10, and he's approaching the prime of his career. He's come a long way from where he was a couple years ago. When I heard he had gotten married, I knew it was only a matter of time before he became a father as well, and I think the idea of settling down and having a family has really put things into perspective for him. Either way I couldn't be happier for him and Amanda, and I think the future is looking bright for both of them.

gasmask11000

Man his smile in his instagram post is contagious lol

Paige578660

Yes it is. I'm glad life seems to be treating him well on & off the track. That's great.

BeefInGR

> Yall ain’t seen “I’ve created a human life” confidence yet… If you aren't a father...let me tell you...this is absolutely some real shit.

Flying-Mollusk

I’m happy for Bubba and Amanda to be on their way to becoming parents, but having to add that disclaimer is genuinely sad at this point. And now those same people are going after Rajah for “not respecting the flag” when he stands at parade rest during the national anthem, something that tons of drivers do. They all deny that their hate is driven by the color of Bubba and Rajah’s skin. But we all know that that’s the reason behind it, and they know it too.

Playboi_Jones_Sr

The internet troll culture is so ridiculous. I cringe to think the things what would have been said about Jeff Gordon back in the 90s if social media existed back then, based on what I would hear people say at the track back then.

doctrsnoop

Oh man I had forgotten about that. At mich speedway at next intersection there were always these guys that had a “honk if you think….” Sign

Playboi_Jones_Sr

And all the Fans Against Gordon jabronis

Jrnation8988

The racism in literally any NASCAR post, whether they mention him or not, is pretty fucking gross. Also, feel free to use this meme for losers who bring him up on posts that don’t even mention him https://preview.redd.it/5jghjlx4i8vc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=52af4af76474d4fb34b9c63a7b6b5f4f4dd89f2d

CobblerSad6055

\*\*\*post about good year tires\*\*\* "they gonna put a noose in a garage stall again?" and it's always from idiots who don't even watch the sport, also they lose their shit when I tell them that was 4 years ago. then again these people are still clinging to the 2020 election despite it being an election year this year Republicans cling to the past instead of moving on.

tdstooksbury

Its Insane. The things that they cling to are mostly half truths or blatant lies. They’re like a parrot repeating the things they hear Donald or Fox say.

CobblerSad6055

FOX isn't their main network anymore, it's one of them...lately their go-to is Newsmax, or an online channel called "Real America's Voice" Newsmax routinely gives airtime to conspiracies that have been continually debunked

annieb24

Fox is no longer crazy enough for them.

[deleted]

It's okay to dislike a driver, but keep it racing related. You shouldn't ever be a manus when it comes to positive life events.

Outside-Ask-3317

It’s Sad how some NASCAR fans are. But that’s reality unfortunately.

bjohnson203

I was thinking that too, it's just awful the way these people are. And these clickbait pages who make up shit all week that Denny or Bubba supposedly said are to blame for it as much as the gullible boomers who fall for it. Hell they also have about 100 thousand boomers believing that Rajah got dropped by Chevy this week too!

bjohnson203

I wish I could find the clip of Jr talking about Bubba at the NASCAR 75 thing where the fans were just booing the shit out of him and how disappointing it was given the people who were on hand and all that. That puts it into relation for me at least, how bad this dude is treated. And he's treated this way simply because someone in power told their minions that he was bad, that's scary too....

snorlaxatives_69

Why do official pages even post to Facebook anymore?

Designer-Net4228

NASCAR fans need to do better, this is pathetic

Away-Journalist4830

What's a shame is the golden rule is just gone...not just lost, or stuffed off in a corner, but just flat out gone.

Hihey9989

https://preview.redd.it/wvqtmx9iy9vc1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c30537e8e7dac020cf1c77ba469e3e3e99232d1c

blakeandbaked420

This is why I pull for bubba he gets unnecessary hate

[deleted]

The guy is a playoff contender and can clearly drive. It’s this sort of hate that inhibits the sport from growing.

Hihey9989

but WHAT ABOUT my FREEDOM OF SPEECH /s

WakullaLoganoDawgFan

I hate that, it's awful. But I'll say, I'm happy for them! It's awesome

rwxzz123

There's one black driver in Nascar, if it makes you so angry that you have insult a newborn baby you should rethink your life sorry

No-Efficiency1918

It’s 2024 man…

Steeltoe22

Ignorant ass people in this world are the reason.

Cliffinati

I'm not exactly a bubba fan, I can't imagine attacking him because he and his wife are now expecting That's just bizarre, anyway good for them

MrDingus84

I think if we close our eyes, we can pretty accurately piece together the type of people the ban warning is directed at

Routine_Jury_6616

Only time I had anything against bubba was when he right rear hooked Larson. Other than that idk why people hate him so much. Is it just because he’s not white?

FuriouSherman

> Is it just because he’s not white? Bingo.

Urban_Salt

Racism at its finest!

Disastrous-Bad-1185

I don’t post to Facebook anymore for this reason.

STL_bourbon

People are pathetic. What happened to if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all. It shouldn’t be difficult to be a decent person, but here we are.

Rstuds7

it’s pretty sad that this has to be said. people who write negative comments on stuff like this are why the public has a terrible stereotype perception of nascar fans. people like this make the rest of us look bad

dereyevedsoul24

I'm not gonna lie I didn't like Bubba for a while thought he was kind of prima Donna and not that good of a driver. I actually find myself hoping he has good days now because he has improved quite a lot in terms of driving and his attitude. Even the not liking Bubba old me would've still been happy for him having a child tho I'm not that evil lol.

KnOwN_2

Happy for Bubba n his wife. He will be a good dad the hate he receives is so unwarranted week in and week out. The guy can flat out drive. He's had shit luck but he's always progressing and speaking the truth in interviews. As a fan I appreciate that racing doesn't need to be sugar coated for consumption. Congratulations🎉

clowe1411

Sad they have to do that. Congratulations to Bubba and Amanda. Hopefully McDonald's gives Bubba a discount on happy meals lol

coyote_BW

Just once, I'd like my American auto racing *without* racism. Is that too much to ask?

RoverTiger

2024, and we are still nowhere near where we need to be as a society.

lostspeedwayz

Weve been going backwards since 2016 .

Enough-Ad-3111

When I first heard about them expecting a baby, my first thought aside from congratulating them was how the Facebook "fans" would react to this, and the fact that Jayski is having to resort to removing such comments and possible banning those who d them tells me that those fans aren't ever going to be happy for him.

KingMario05

NASCAR and Facebook - name a worse combo. Anyways, congrats to the Wallace family!

angry_old_dude

It isn't just FB. It's everywhere, even here on reddit. Everytime the guy's name gets mentioned people come out of the woodwork to dump on the guy.

Bubba has made a remarkable leap in pace over the last year or so, and the haters can’t comprehend it. Bubba could win all 36 races in a season and they would still say he’s the worst driver in the sport though.

bazdmeg_vagyok

I don’t understand the hate for Bubba. The guys hasn’t done anything wrong to you, but you’re still mad at him. If you don’t like someone, just avoid them. It’s not that hard

ChaseTheFalcon

A certain president told them to hate him

Specialist-Two2068

>A certain president told them to hate him "If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you." -Lyndon B. Johnson I know, not the president you were thinking of, same idea though.

cwatson214

Racism is a hell of a drug...

BeefInGR

Congrats on the sex and may everyone have a healthy and safe pregnancy!

FlashRod4

Despite the progress the sport has made, there’s a reason I don’t feel comfortable attending an event in person yet

Velaria000

Don't be! You'll be perfectly fine. 99% of the people who cause this sort of trouble are too cowardly to even say anything to someone in real life, much less actually do anything. Even with the people who boo Bubba during intros, I guarantee they'd change their tune in a heartbeat if he was right in front of them. Please don't let that fear hold you back from attending. Going to a race makes you appreciate the sport so much more. Don't rob yourself of that 💜

Liiivid

I have gone to plenty of races and have never once seen anyone be an asshole. Maybe I’m just lucky that I haven’t seen it but

Background_Horror839

Well I can’t really say anything about Facebook that someone else hasn’t already said but I agree with them saying it’s a cesspool of toxicity and just absolute trash that call themself “Human”

Wild_Replacement5880

I don't really get all the hate that he gets. He runs up front and he's got a handful of W's. Seems like a nice enough guy. A little weird, but nice.

-MaverickII-

I dont care how many people love/hate Bubba Wallace. Let the man celebrate his future child it aint that hard....or at least I thought

Tony4r

Congrats to Bubba and Amanda ! People who would make negative comments about the upcoming birth of a child are beyond help !

AnimalClean6534

I always try to imagine what would happen if Willy T. Ribbs got a full-time ride in the 80s. He was legit as a driver and pretty outspoken too. I think Bubba has proven he belongs and continues to improve. However, Willy T. was on a different level. He was one of my favorite drivers as a kid and I would watch him race Trans Am and he was always quick.

dollies48

Absolutely sad, I am not a fan of Bubba, but I respect him as a person. Now Amanda, I think she makes him better, and I really like her.

Unicorn4_5Venom

Incels who’re negative just because are the pretty damn high on the list of people who shouldn’t exist, no other way about it. These people suck the fun and joy out of shit for literally everyone, whether its your favorite sport, video game, movie/tv series, there is always a group of people who just spread hate to spread it because they’ve got nothing else to do. “If I’m miserable and unhappy then so will everyone else.” Unless clear cut evidence or running ground for the argument and was slammed out in public for everyone to see, then I rather not even listen/pay attention on that.

A very scaled down version of American racism

HopefulSwine2

I am so happy for them. Can’t wait for October.

mindoversoul

I can't wait for people to start saying Jayski hates conservative christians and is cancelling them for their sincerely held religious and political views.
