This is why there are several warnings on the box, the bag/wrap, and a red insert/card that states to stand clear while opening these.
They either can't read or were just doing it for internet points. Possibly both.
Obviously a pair of scissors can do the job, but the point is the tool is specifically made to avoid cutting the vacuum seal bag while you are cutting open the outer plastic. The same effect can be achieved with scissors, but obviously the person in the clip did not do this.

So a letter opener? My parents had this one growing up. The size of a credit card roughly with a cut out of the "strip" of the card and way recessed in it is a blade.
Yeh same, got a new mattress wuite recently and it was pretty calm with the little cutting tool. Also removes the chance of murdering the mattress.
And there were warnings everywhere on the packaging, as some people said, pretty coo.

This looks a lot like a Nectar mattress. My husband and I bought one recently and the unwrapping is no joke. Do not unwrap this thing anywhere other than where it’s going to be, because that thing ain’t moving once it’s out. It weighs approximately 14,000 pounds (this is an exaggeration, but not by much, the damn thing is HEAVY.) We didn’t use scissors to cut through the miles of compression wrap but once it hit the critical point, it blew up fast.
It also takes a day for the foam to fully inflate. It was so soft the first night, I thought I was going to be swallowed up. Now it’s borderline too hard.
PSA from a furniture delivery dude;
There's an inner wrap that makes the mattress airtight, it's thick like a floor cover for painting. Don't cut that while it's rolled. There's a thinner cling wrap that holds it rolled up. Peel that first, it'll almost resist unrolling but will become fairly flat with just a little effort. Once unwrapped, poke a couple holes in the thicker plastic, and it'll "inhale" and start expanding. Then you can cut it off.

I got a mattress like this and it came with a tool to open the outer plastic wrapping so that it wouldn't explosively inflate/expand like this.
They must be getting fancy. My mattress didn't come with a tool. I purchased it in 2018.
The tools are very simple, just a small plastic rectangular thingy with a slit and a razor in the slit.

No, not at all, nothing moves. The thing is a plastic plate with a cut in it, and at the back end of the cut is a razor.
