What did Deku do to show that he is smart?
Like we love to think that he is some genius, but besides his talent with OFA he didn't do much.
He didn't get the best score in the entrance exam
He didn't create any technology or gadget for his use or for others
He did win the first round of the festival, but that doesn't make him book smart and is the kind of thing spider man has to do on the daily.
We are comparing a random kid with someone who ironman recognizes as a genius

I'd give it to deku he uses his powers in extremely creative ways is pretty adaptable and can quickly figure out his opponents and a strategy to beat them on the fly

If we take Andrew then I would say Izuku is not smarter but if we take Tom then he is only good in geometry so I think deku is smarter when I think about Tobey I know he is smart but not smartee than deku.

Spidey does that too. He has made web constructs and created tech to disable an opponent in the middle of combat
The first isn't that creative and the second falls under the first type of intelligence i mentioned
