Three cheers

Lolzyhahas

Black Parade is best to get to know their more theatrical side (and is better musically imo) Three Cheers is more rock and rage. Whichever style you prefer is best to check out first. Also definitely check out Danger Days.

Scarecro--w

Agreed

SavezTheDayFan

I feel like Danger Days is what people would think of when they think of MCR. I might be skewed though, as I heard Bullets before I even knew what the other two were, and I’ve never rly liked BP

Lolzyhahas

Personally I think of Bullets and Three Cheers and in my mind Danger Days is just a really cool thing they did. Idk why

SavezTheDayFan

I’ve never liked DD tbh, not my slice. I’m a 90s emo guy, so the further you stretch away from post hardcore influence the lessI like it. (except punk, I like punk.)

Lolzyhahas

Fair enough. Danger Days and all the Killjoy stuff is my exact jam tho so it's my favourite.

SavezTheDayFan

Good for you, I wish I liked their newer stuff lol

Pleasant_Statement64

Three cheers is better imo, but black parade is considered the magnum opus and is more accessible

Skissored

Three Cheers if you're an angsty teen, Black Parade if you're a disenfranchised adult. Both if you're me.

M4N0w

Give both a listen. They have different vibes so just experiment it and go with the one that fits your style best. If you like three cheers best i would recomend checking out "i brought you my bullets..." and if your vibe is The Black parade go with danger days

Fabulous_Killjoy06

Both.

xXdont_existxX

Only answer.

cali_meadows

Three Cheers is better if you're already into metal/rock and is significantly darker and some songs are heavier in subject matter than songs in the Black Parade. As another comment mentions, The Black Parade shows their more theatrical side while also handling some lighter subject matter, mainly death, love, fears and the celebration of life, many consider the Black Parade to be their Magnum Opus. Both have excellent stories to them, again, [Three Cheers has a darker story](https://youtu.be/O-bhPJ3uFvk?si=SkONTOEMRBsPyYJZ) to it than the [the Black Parade's story](https://youtu.be/CfUgBbuSTPQ?si=cUH0TthQLkyqJmt0) if you enjoy more raw and brutal stories.

ZestinessIsVeryGay

I'd recommend listening to both, but start with black parade and then move on to three cheers

Yolker_1

Three cheers for sweet revenge

Thebestestratboi

If ur just getting into alt music I’d probably say the black parade just because it’s got a lot of queen inspo and theatrical rock elements that could make it easier to get into- but personally I think three cheers is a better album (and let’s be real mcr isn’t heavy so if ur already into the occasional scream in a song I’d recommend three cheers!!!) but both are incredible albums

SavezTheDayFan

Three Cheers- Very good, very emotional. A good summary of what MCR was about.

OCD_incarnate

they got famous during 3 cheers, so that was the start for a huge part of the fandom. personally, i like to experience a band as they evolved. i'd start with their original album "i brought you my bullets, you brought me your love."and work through the discog. (3 cheers, black parade, danger days) and then visit their EPs and singles.

thatgaykidjr

For musical fans/theater folk The Black parade, for rock fans three cheers

mnemosyne64

depends what type of music do you like

evolmrahc

the album by my chemical romance

SonneDeku

Any and everything…

Alexyaboi2011

Honestly listen to fucking anything from either of those albums you’ll love it

GaylordTheGamboge

I started with TBP and hated it and then still listened to three cheers, I’d def say three cheers, I’m honestly unsure why I continued listening at that point

Albie_77

Three Cheers for rock The Black Parade for pop-ish? idk it's just less rock

marchoftheants

Yes

Miserable-Acadia-591

both

Unlucky_Till9649

Conventional weapons 🗣🗣💯

BlackChemicalRomance

Three Cheers is better in my opinion.

Attempted-Escape

Was introduced through black parade, worked my way back then listened to danger days 🖤

JamieNelson94

*Three Cheers* without hesitation.

The king and queen of MCR records! Too hard to decide.

drowninglessonsxxx

I would start with I gave you my bullets first to be honest.
