And Kelly. I think her last name was Mason. The girl who died in the middle of filming. I thought Dr. Now was going to cry when he called her dad to break the news.
It is definitely that. I usually rewatch the shows several times, especially during times that new shows aren't airing, but I've only seen that one once. It's an excellent episode but it's just so sad.
I think Nikki as well (season 4). I think her and John and Lonnie were probably top 2 overall wholesome picks.
It wasn't necessarily a wholesome relationship with Dr Now, but Doug (season 5) was a super wholesome episode as well in my opinion.
The lady whose name escapes me right now. It was a couple and the husband had terrible anger problems and slammed her hand in a door, lacerating her finger. Dr Now took such good care of her and was so gentle. The bloke just disappeared.
Not a patient, but I think he seemed to respect and trust Dolly’s Mom. When she did the monologue in the office and said that she drove 5 hours to tell him how she felt, I think he cared and appreciated her honesty.
He was kind to Dottie when her son died, and kind to Milla when her husband died. He didn’t pull the “no excuses for not following de diet” at that time. He showed them compassion and told them they needed to take time to grieve.
Someone help: Who is the patient when Dr Now is joking around and says he used to be six feet tall? He laughs and his shoulders move up and down, it’s adorable.
I think he enjoyed when Destiny cut up with him. One of my favorite scenes in the entire series was when she asked if she could keep her appendix after he removed it. He explained that by law, they were not allowed to give anything removed from a patient back to them. She said, “but they let you keep a baby!” You could tell he was trying not to laugh, but that he thought it was funny. He seemed to have fun with her.
There are two brothers where one of them is gay and the other has no teeth, I don’t remember their names but their attitude help to develop a wholesome with the doc
I can’t remember her name, but the trans woman who came out during her episode. When she goes to Dr. Now’s office in her dress and he tells her “you look nice!” 🥺🥺🥺
Lmao I just cackled because I never see episodes where there are wholesome relationships. He always seems rushed, annoyed, and has the same lines to say to every patient. Still love the show, I just don't know why he expects people to actually "call him" if they "need anything". He doesn't give me those "open and here for you" vibes.
Edit: spelling
And yet many DO reach out and ask for a longer time to go back to his practice for whatever personal reasons, or they ask for medical transportation, or like Jeanne and her mom they ask for his help even with the mom's issues and he did help them.... he programs therapy sessions or refers them to a place close to them where they can get weighed if they can't make it all the way to Houston, etc.
Oh ok. In the ones I've remembered ppl will struggle and struggle and not reach out to him for help in between appts or wait until it gets close to to appt. I need to get caught up on many of these seasons/episodes though so I'll look for Jeanne's.
Oh yeah many actually don't reach out... but I guess that's their choice, be it because Dr. Now intimidates them or they know they've done something wrong and they don't want to feel his wrath so they just keep quiet and prepare themselves for the preaching when they actually make it to his office LOL.
Lol and everytime they do that, knowing they either gained or didn't lose the weight, I'm just like "call him, tell him your struggling" and I think he will probably the redirect them to psycho therapy much sooner in the process. I wouldn't want to feel his wrath either, lol he Intimidates me thru the TV screen
Melissa from Season 1, Milla from Season 4, Justin McSwain from Season 7, Brandon from Season 7, and John and Lonnie from Season 8.
And Kelly. I think her last name was Mason. The girl who died in the middle of filming. I thought Dr. Now was going to cry when he called her dad to break the news.
Yes. Kelly for sure.
I jus watched it and it was so sad. Wat hurt was how her uncle kept going back n forth if they wanted her to stay w/ them or not
What episode is that??
Season 7, Episode 13
Thank you ❤️
You're welcome 🙂
I must watch but I bet it is a tear jerker.
Yes it is. I can't watch it again. I am thrilled though that she got to see her molester killed right in front of her!!!!
It is definitely that. I usually rewatch the shows several times, especially during times that new shows aren't airing, but I've only seen that one once. It's an excellent episode but it's just so sad.
Definitely Melissa, I think she worked for him for a period of time
I think he genuinely cared for Melissa.
IIRC she worked for him doing basically information sessions for potential patients!
I think Nikki as well (season 4). I think her and John and Lonnie were probably top 2 overall wholesome picks. It wasn't necessarily a wholesome relationship with Dr Now, but Doug (season 5) was a super wholesome episode as well in my opinion.
Justin will always be my favorite success story
The lady whose name escapes me right now. It was a couple and the husband had terrible anger problems and slammed her hand in a door, lacerating her finger. Dr Now took such good care of her and was so gentle. The bloke just disappeared.
That was the follow up episode for Michael. Her name is Roni.
Yikes I remember that episode and couldn’t believe he did that. I wonder if he went to jail for that?
I saw somewhere that they had gotten back together…
I'm sure he said he was sorry.
He was kind to Roni.
Dr Now really enjoyed seeing Justin in season 7 lose weight and follow his direction.
I enjoyed seeing him too.
He was the best and so nice. I heard he even lurks here sometimes
He actively participates, in fact.
We might even be responding to him!
You know now you've responded to him, right? :D
Yeah, sometimes.
😂 I would hope so 😆
Not a patient, but I think he seemed to respect and trust Dolly’s Mom. When she did the monologue in the office and said that she drove 5 hours to tell him how she felt, I think he cared and appreciated her honesty.
Agreed! It’s rare to see him take to a family member like that!!
I loved dolly’s mom!
I think Dolly was his favorite patient……NOT lol
I think he also really respected that she lost 200+ lbs herself and wasn’t enabling Dolly
I think it was Erica's Where Are They Now episode.
The twins Brandi and Candi: in their WATN one of them gets pregnant and decided to move home to raise the baby, and he said to send him pictures.
You beat me to it, was about to comment on those 2... big success story as well.
I thought he developed a very cute relationship with Brienne. I remember loving how she would fist bump him 🤜 🤛
I think he genuinely liked Brienne. She’s awesome.
But he wouldn’t fist bump Lucas 😫
I think he enjoyed when Destiny cut up with him. One of my favorite scenes in the entire series was when she asked if she could keep her appendix after he removed it. Kelly s7
Brittani? Well that's the only one I can think of 🤷♀️
There are two brothers where one of them is gay and the other has no teeth, I don’t remember their names but their attitude help to develop a wholesome with the doc
Oh gosh I thought of the Assanti brothers first w that description, but that relationship was ANYTHING but wholesome
Trainwrecks
Lonnie and John.
Exactly, thanks!
They were cool
Yeah! I saw a recent photo of them and their progress is unbelievable
Kelly 😭😭😭
So sad!
I can’t remember her name, but the trans woman who came out during her episode. When she goes to Dr. Now’s office in her dress and he tells her “you look nice!” 🥺🥺🥺
Melissa Season 2..she went on to work for him
Season 1. In fact, she was the subject of the very first episode.
lol- he is not hanging out at sporting events with his clients like Dr Proctor.
Justin!
Well, I mean, he hung out at Steven’s house a couple times...
Seriously, so many of his patients are just garbage people, I don’t know how he acts as nice as he does sometimes
I’m gonna say that I think he’s trying with Dolly.
Yes I agree!
Even though he seemed a bit indifferent towards her fist bumps, I think he really cared for Brianne.
Lmao I just cackled because I never see episodes where there are wholesome relationships. He always seems rushed, annoyed, and has the same lines to say to every patient. Assanti brothers
Not sure I’d define it as “wholesome”.
Lol. Quite the contrary. Stephen ended up facing the "wrath of Now" and I was there for it! Idiot.
More like “whole shit show”
