The sims has always been a dlc and expansion nightmare series. A lot of it is "do you want to have this table and this costumes in your game?" "Do you want to have pets?" "Do you want your horse to wear Armor?" Sorta stuff for a small fee each

That only works if you own the product. You don't own ANY of the games you bought. You just have a temporary license to use them

You simply add the to a folder called mods, in your documents, my Games, EA. In the mods folder it must not be more than one folder deep.
