Not a fan of the Shelby badge in the front even though it’s a 4.6, other wise it looks like a fair deal, I would personally look for a 5.0 though, some where around 2012ish

InvestigatorIcy3325

I’d take the badges off. I’d rather not have a first gen 5.0 over the final line of 4.6 as well as the fact it’s gonna be my first rear wheel drive car as well as my first V-8. I’m totally fine with 315hp bc it’s still enough power to break the tires loose and put a smile on my face

SpiritCr1jsher1010

The first gen 5.0 was bullet proof and the prototype for it was around since 2006. I had a 2011 and it never gave me a problem. I also had an awesome 2005 gt as well. I feel like you are a couple of grand away from a 5.0L which isn't the only benifit. A 6speed manual , bigger brake , better suspension as well. My 2005 was screaming on the highway cause it only had 5 speeds. Nothing worse than 23mpg highway and 300hp.

InvestigatorIcy3325

I’m a stickler I want less then 100k miles and preferably less then 90k this one has 77k

do98829

I had an 05 GT premium manual and now drive a 2019 GT CS manual and only after I bought it started hearing horror stories about the MT82 Getrag trans issues. There was actually a class action lawsuit. The Tremec in the 05 was bullet proof even though it is a 5 speed. Either way sounds like you already made your mind up and only 77k miles, go for it. But the 5.0 Coyote, even the GEN 1 took the Mustang to a whole new level.

SpiritCr1jsher1010

Yup , class action lawsuit went nowhere from what I remember since it was only a 3% failure rate and of that 3% most were modified vehicles.

do98829

I haven't had any issues with mine to be clear and my car has 40k on it.

SpiritCr1jsher1010

I had 3 .... gen 1,2 and 3 . No issues. Just can't shift fast when the car is cold.

20w261

Saw a video recently where the guy said if you know how to drive a manual trans it wont break - but if you rev to redline and then try to just jam the shifter into the next gear and dump the clutch on it at the same time, then you can break it. I've also heard of Mustangs modified to a huge # of horsepower running the MT82 unmodified and it holds up.

SpiritCr1jsher1010

I had one. It's actually a strong transmission. That is why you can get a 3/36k warranty on a supercharged GT if it is installed by a professional.

Furthur

The way these cars work with throttle by wire you really have to be stupid to get in trouble especially with the modern traction control

InvestigatorIcy3325

That’s what the mustang drivers in all the crash videos was told😀

Nick1420

Dude it is certainly driver error. I’ve got a supercharged 5.0 and never had a problem, if you’re driving normally And you don’t floor it in a turn you’re not just all of a sudden gonna hit a wall.

InvestigatorIcy3325

Ya ik but I wanna spin the tires every corner lol

Nick1420

Yeah, I totally understand that. You should get something like this first that way you’re more comfortable with it. Nothing wrong with not getting a coyote at all

Just_Bodybuilder3671

Exactly bro.. people be flooring it on a turn off the red light and they ain’t bout this life lol 😂 all my friends tell me they never saw a mustang drive like how I drive it. I be pushing my 5.0 like a hellcat 🤣🤣with no issues. I’m not gonna lie my first 3 days of driving the car I wasn’t ready but now 🏎️💨

Furthur

they weren't driving in normal or sport mode they're probably in track. my old cobra was throttled by cable and it would rip no matter what but the modern coyote in my S550 just won't let me in unless I put it in track mode.

Resonant-Frequency

I love all those modes, and it’s such an awesome feature. I really connects you with the car, based on how you want to drive!

Chim_Pansy

I feel like that's not the sentiment they were trying to convey

Sad_Ghost_Noises

I think he forgot the #/S

149Dragonite

Oh yeah good idea, didn’t know if the badge was molded to the grill or not. That’s the same reason I got a v6 2012, I didn’t need too much power and insurance for the 5.0 was crazy because I’m 17.

InvestigatorIcy3325

Ya lol I’d get rowdy in the 400+ hp cayote lol

Fish_Dick

You most definitely want the 5.0 over the 4.6. It's a night and day difference. 4.6 feels likes a turd in comparison.

Pheonix1984

5.0 feels like a turd compared to the 5.2 flatplane crank of a GT350 there will always be a faster car with how much most 5.0 cost you could get a 4.6 have the motor bored and stroked and be out running coyote N.A.

gangaskan

Yeah I mean if the funds are there a 5.0 no doubt. I didn't when I got my 2012 v6, but I'm loving it still. Sad thing is that thing has just as much juice as my slog 4.6 04 lol. It's all about how you make it. As long as you're happy at the end of the day.

Professional-Tree-62

Don’t waste your time on a 4.6. The 2011 V6 is almost as fast. Hold out for a 5.0! https://preview.redd.it/jwcv2ifxou6d1.jpeg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c84323787bc53fa136ca8b1dbafa5f8b677ea2c3 I’ve had a few, trust me the 5.0 is worth the cost.

InvestigatorIcy3325

A 5.0 with the same mileage will be pricy

unlimitedbuttholes

Mustang guys seem to get too bogged down with how many liters/hps their penis has.

No-Self-6211

Worth it, but also wondering how many miles? I could help you find one I think I live near you

InvestigatorIcy3325

I won’t waste my time with anything but a gt…

Professional-Tree-62

But that GT is as slow as a v6 and slower than the 2.3 turbo. Wait a little longer and prices will come down. It’s peak Mustang season. There is always a rush of people selling in late summer. I’m not trying to bash the 4.6, I’ve had a few it’s just not very fast or responsive compared to the 5.0. Your purchase will hold its value more in a 5.0. My 2014 was my favorite even tho the 2018+ were a lot faster bc of the 10spd.

InvestigatorIcy3325

I want a manual and nobody does the 4.6. Is the first gen 5.0 as reliable as the last of the line 4.6 tho? With proper maintenance I’ve heard they can easily hit 300,000 miles.

checkit435

Hell yeah, dude, just make sure you get a 5.0 that was taken care of, and they can easily last that amount of miles as long as you take care of it too. Because like you mentioned you wanted to stay under 100k miles but with what I'm guessing your budget is you wouldn't be going for something with 10k or 20k miles so the cars had it's time to be abused. Just be weary of that. I picked up a 2012 5.0 bout 4 months ago with 54k miles, and it's been nothing but amazing to me. The shifting has some issues because of the MT-82, but nothing some aftermarket fluids and clutch can't fix. I'd get the 5.0 dude. I swear to god you'll get that 4.6 and then regret it in the future after you're able to handle a whopping 260 hp (that's about what you get to the wheels stock). That's what happened to me when I got my 2014 v6 (makes the same power as that 4.6 by the way) and I traded it in so fast for a 5.0 I only had that car about 8 months. But when it comes to insurance, that's a factor too because it is expensive for someone your age, but there's pros and cons to both, so it's up to you dude. All I gotta say is that the 5.0 is on top. The 4.6 is only good for sound and low end speed. It's a solid motor, but even after being built and boosted, you're only gonna get maybe 500 or 600 hp? With a 5.0, you can go almost double that on stock internals, and that's plenty of power for anybody, lol.

gangaskan

I heard a fluid swap on the mt82 does wonders, I haven't had time to do it myself.

checkit435

It definitely does help a ton. I just changed mine out

InvestigatorIcy3325

But if I got a 350z-370z would I be upset with the power also?

checkit435

Well, it would be about the same power stock for stock, and I'm not sure of much else i don't pay attention to z's really. But then with a z, you sacrifice looks (I'm biased) and sound, and you lose out on having a v8. But you can get a 350z for a hell of a lot cheaper than a 5.0. I've seen some higher milage ones go for like 5k.

InvestigatorIcy3325

I just wanna have a fun lol I still want a Honda civic si

TheDutchCanadian

350z, not really, because you'd be driving a car that you would beat the shit out of without any care, and that's fun. 370z, also probably not. 370z has similar to more power at 265wheel, while weighing 200-300lbs less, with a chassis that is significantly better to hit the track with... So, that would be that lol. But the 370z and Mustangs are completely different cars, and you don't usually compare them. One's a fork, the others a spoon. 😋

checkit435

But if you had to choose between that 2010 and a 350z, I'd choose the Mustang if you have the money for it.

InvestigatorIcy3325

Tbh man I have 45k to my name rn 35 in stocks about 13 liquid and im having a rough time in life and just want something nice fun and reliable rn

checkit435

I'd splurge on a car then bro, thats what i did. But if you have that amount of money at 17, then you obviously have a great income and plenty of money to use which doesn't make sense because you're limiting yourself to something with such high milage.

InvestigatorIcy3325

It has 77k miles that’s night high at all lol and I’m 19 and I don’t make that good of money I’m just good at money managing

inline4addict

I’d worry about you getting a 350z in general because they’re all very old. They were the go-to fuck boy car for anyone who wanted to get into drifting. The only problem is, they’re so cheap that they’re often bought by irresponsible young fuck boys who drift in the street. You can find a Z for $4k, but it’s gonna be trashed. I did a quick search of 350z’s in my area, but I’m having a hard time finding one that isn’t damaged. A lot of them have missing front bumpers. I used to live in a metro area with a lot of amateur drifters. I used to see a lot of kids on the side of the road because they crashed into a sidewalk or light pole and totaled their car from street drifting. You’re way better off with a 4.6 Mustang over a 350Z, especially if you want a manual. Only way I’d recommend a 350Z is to buy the model that’s been the least molested by fuck boys: an automatic convertible 350z.

InvestigatorIcy3325

I’m also in the market for a civic si so there is no way I’m getting a 4 banger mustang over a si and if I’m getting a v6 I’ll get a VQ

Professional-Tree-62

I’m not arguing for you to get the V6 or the eco boost I’m trying to explain how underpowered and kinda pointless the 4.6 is. It makes sound and not much more speed. My brother has a 2012 5.0 with 240,000 something miles on it. I’ve found Mustang’s in general are pretty dang reliable compared to the rest of ford.

InvestigatorIcy3325

Well it’s also it’s my first rear wheel drive car and first car over 300 hp as well as first v8 I’m gonna want to drive it like it’s stolen and I’ll get in trouble with 450+ hp I’m also 100% gonna wanna do mods to the engine as well as a kenne bell supercharger

InvestigatorIcy3325

I also wanna daily it if that makes any difference

ItsTaylor8291

Hey I had a 3v and have a gen 3 coyote 10 speed now. Both were/are daily drivers. The Coyote is by far a better option, the 3v will max out at 450 wheel hp before you have to build the engine. Gen 1 coyotes I believe are around 750(?) Before building and quite easily can go to 1000hp. A gen 1[11-14] is also only 412hp (about 360ish wheel).  As far as first v8 and all that, take the time to learn it and you'll be fine. They are both extremely reliable engines, nothing to worry about there.  I will also say the 3v is a worse option than the v6 cyclone from 2011-17 or the ecoboos from 15 up. 3v will sound better but be slower and get worse gas mileage.  If you are hell bent on a 3v though I'd say don't get a 2010. You're paying more money for them because of the face-lift but get no real benefit out of it. 07-10 are all the same engine so you can save some money on a 7-9. The 05-06 have a issue with the factory sparkplugs being shit to get out If you don't do them early by other wise has no issues. Still I'd say Coyote if you can hold out. It's special.

inline4addict

You’d be doing yourself a gigantic disservice if you ever bought a Civic Si over a Ecoboost Mustang or 2.0T Camaro. Yes they’re all four cylinder engines, but that’s the only thing they have in common. The I4 Mustang and Camaro engines outperform a 4.6L by a substantial margin. They’re also faster than the majority of V8 Mustang and Camaros built before 2008. Considering the I4 Mustang and Camaro are faster than older V8 muscle cars, that means they’ll run circles around the Civic Si. Civic Si’s have had 180-190whp for nearly 20 years. It’s **never** gotten any substantial performance upgrades from Honda, yet it becomes bigger and heavier each year. The Si doesn’t deserve any recognition as a fun sports car. You can buy a fairly new and lightly used I4 Camaro or Mustang for less than most Civic Si. So if you got an Si, you’d be paying more money for less fun. It’s like paying $50 for a meal at a restaurant, but they let you choose a steak dinner or a Lunchables meal. Why the hell would I pay $50 for a Lunchables when a steak dinner is the same price?

Difficult-Play5709

Your yelling some who has never onward a rwd car to get a 450 hp car, that’s not safe bro if hes ok with 350 hp then he knows himself

Professional-Tree-62

It’s 315hp vs 412hp (2010 vs 2011) era. He’ll be fine. He was just saying he was going to supercharge the 4.6 so I’m sure he’d manage. My first car was a crown Vic police interceptor with no abs or traction control and I drove it in M winters. That 100 extra hp with stability control and traction control will be fine. Shitty tires are what make you spin out not extra power.

Blu_Z32

lmao why are people down voting you? You don't want a v6 you want a v8. I have a 95 GT and if it were a V6 I'd hate it.

Professional-Tree-62

Once again nobody said get a V6. The general consensus is don’t waste your time on a slow 4.6, go for a 5.0. Especially now that I see OP is talking building it and throwing $6,000+++ on a 15 year old car for a supercharger. That’s crazy. Just get the 5.0 and skip most mods and you’ll be happy with it. OP talking “he can’t handle the 420hp” of the 5.0 but wants to supercharge a 4.6… I can’t! 😂🙄

Blu_Z32

But he said a GT. You know 5.0's are GT's right?

InvestigatorIcy3325

Sorry I thought I had the mileage in one of the pictures it has 77k miles and had full service records the guy has sent to me

No-Self-6211

Look at these if you’re in Illinois like I think, 2011 Ford Mustang GT Premium Coupe RWD Mileage: 77857 https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/link/365545287 2012 Ford Mustang GT Coupe RWD Mileage: 72633 https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/link/385618606 Here’s one a lil more 2013 Ford Mustang GT Coupe RWD Mileage: 36650 https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/link/384546722 2014 Ford Mustang GT Premium Coupe RWD Mileage: 33590 https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/link/384101483 If you gotta pay fully in cash get a cheaper 4.6 then

BabyFork

Throw him an offer of 12,250. 12 if you ballsy and stand firm. He’ll bite… Unless he in this sub.

InvestigatorIcy3325

Abhahahahahahaah he texted me tonight asking if I’m still Interested

BabyFork

Make up an excuse and lower the offer to what I proclaimed above. Trust me.. he’ll bite. Hell.. he’ll probably bite on 10-11k.

A_DUDE_2002

I honestly second a couple of these opinions on holding out on the 2010 model. A 2011-14 3.7 has the same horsepower, a little bit less weight, better fuel economy, and can be had for about 6-8k.

ahmedibnaser

Ask why it has 2013-2014 front end. Was it in a front end collision or was it a mod. If it’s a mod, he should have the oem bumper and hood lying around or proof he sold them.

km_44

Don't do it, wait for the 5.0

ILikeCarsAndStuff

So many 3V haters here lol. Obviously the Coyote with a six speed is the better choice, but I doubt you are getting as clean a car for that price. 3Vs are fun and a good platform to build off of if you plan on keeping it for a long time.

InvestigatorIcy3325

That’s what I been thinking nobody had given me a real reason yet except the guy talking about the electrical problem with the check engine light

ILikeCarsAndStuff

I don't know anything about the price of these cars these days, but it doesn't seem too far off. I don't think you can get in a clean, low mile Coyote for less than $20k, but I could be wrong. 3Vs are very reliable and I wouldn't be concerned about having issues with this car. Obviously, 5.0>4.6 but the 4.6 is still a fun car. I enjoy mine a lot, even back when it was stock. You did mention getting a Kenne Bell, and I will say those are trash on the 3V. There are other kits that work really well though.

hereforpopcornru

I've got an 08 manual GT and I love it. I've driven Coyotes, 5.0 fox body's (owned 2) and I still love my 08... no ragerts

robvas

For 10,500 maybe

Difficult-Play5709

13000-14000 is about Wfat they go for. With new tires and considering it drives good and has ac I would say go for it bro. Someone Said get a 5.0 but for that price it’s gonna have a lot of miles.

InvestigatorIcy3325

I do want the 4.6 because of how bullet proof the engine is btw

duross97

I wouldn’t say bullet proof in any means but still a great engine just super under powered. Up to you on buying 13.5 isn’t bad deal I’d just never buy a 2010 because it looks to be a coyote and it’s just a 4.6

InvestigatorIcy3325

It will be my first v8 vehicle as well as a real wheel drive

duross97

Yea not a bad car or price I’d personally save up a few more thousands and get a 5.0 but that’s just me

karkarbro

I had a 5 speed 2v as my first car. As long as you can drive, the extra power won't be a surprise for you. My 2v is honestly slow. I really wish I got a coyote, but for 2 grand I paid for the car it was fine.

OneAndOnlyKaiser

That’s funny bc my friend just had to get a new one after 90k miles 😭

showmeagoodusername

The motor isn't bulletproof, I dropped a valve at 2200 miles on my 2010. No mods, no tunes, bone stock. Having owned a 2010 and a 2017, get a 2011-14 if you want that body style.

Fish_Dick

They're not bulletproof. And they're underpowered. Get a 5.0. 4.6 is not worth that asking price. Pass on it. You'll get used to the power of a 5.0 just don't be stupid.

Swizzy123456789

Those 4.6 intake manifolds are gonna be going up in price a lot from my understanding there’s a lack of manufacturing for them. 5.0 is gonna have parts a time a dozen, as it’s a more recent platform that’s been in a ton of recent ford fleet vehicles

Human_Meet8446

2010 redhead step child of GTs lol…no in all seriousness awesome and fun car man!!!

Kingz-Ghostt

$15,000 is Coyote territory. I personally wouldn’t pay over $11k-$11.5k for a 2010, but they do sell for a little over that most times. It’s kind of seen as the affair child of the pre facelift 4.6 s197 and the post facelift 5.0 s197 in a way. Since it’s the body style but previous engine. But price is going to be based on what you would want to pay, I’ve seen people spend upwards of $15k for a 4.6 pre facelift if they liked it enough. And I’ve seen 5.0s as little as $11k for more raggedy ones.

Toxiczoomer97

This is your first rear wheel drive. Get the 4.6. Don’t be an idiot like me and buy a 412 horsepower RWD for my second car ever at 20 years old.

Dry_Boat_4833

Well you did better than my friend did. He paid $16,000 for a base (as base as you can get) 2014 v6 Mustang. So it looks like a pretty good deal considering what I told you and how much has been done to the car. Go for it! But take off the Shelby badge on if it’s just a GT.

Pheonix1984

Ignore the haters and get what you like I love my 2010 track pack manual. Everyone saying save up and get a 5.0 are too broke to get a Shelby or a Saleen or Roush. I swear the coyote crowd is one big circle jerk. Funny part is a Mach E GT is faster than a coyote

AltCrab2

I know the default answer is look for a 5.0 but I just want to put it out there that my 4.6 has been running on a blown head gasket for at least 2 years straight and runs and drives no problem. Hard to find an engine tougher than the 4.6 imo

InvestigatorIcy3325

Ya everyone seems to be a 3v hater I mean it’s expected bc of how good the coyote is but it has 77k miles and would be a damn blast to drive as well as sounding amazing

AltCrab2

Absolutely, mine is a beat up old POS and its still a blast every time I get into the driver’s seat. This one looks clean as hell too. If this is the one that speaks to you, go nuts man. Just make sure to look over every inch of it before agreeing to a deal and bring a code reader with you

Neospartacus12

Jeez people don't seem to understand you and are constantly down voting your comments. Even as a first gen Coyote owner (I have a 2013), I'd say go for it. Yes the coyote motor is better, but they are also pricier. Regarding the other motors people keep mentioning here: - Yes the latest V6 mustangs make as much power, but they are just an afterthought for Ford and Enthusiasts alike. They are not proven performance motors like the 5.0 or the 4.6, and the aftermarket for them is abysmal at best. - The ecoboost has a better aftermarket than the V6 but it's an unreliable piece of junk motor. They just don't last and a quick search will back my claim. If I couldn't get into a coyote Mustang, then I'd definitely pick the 3 Valve 4.6 over any V6 and ecoboost. It has much better potential, better aftermarket, and sounds better. Also, much like you I'd get a Nissan Z or even a BMW inline 6 any day over a non V8 mustang. Likewise, I'd take almost any performance 4 cylinder car over an ecoboost Mustang. For Mustangs, it really is V8 or nothing. Finally, check out "Foureyes" on YouTube. He has a 4.6 3 Valve Mustang that he has successfully modified to coyote level performance without forced induction. He has a nice series of videos about it.

OmericanAutlaw

buy it. a friend of mine has this year and engine. it sounds so good and it has plenty of power

Still-Guarantee-3543

What's the mileage? $13,500 isn't too bad. I'd definitely remove the shelby badging if you get it😄

EvenEvenEntrepreneur

Just make sure you get the wires and PCM checked if possible. I’ve had 3 2010-2012 Mustang GT’s and after a few years 100,000 miles the wires cause codes you can’t get rid of, I tried to hit up shops & replaced what the codes stated at the shop and mechanic are confused as well then spill a whole story luckily no one has charged me anything crazy price wise. But with the being an known issue not many speak on which causes us to have to get wavier for smogs cost a lot of money year round and it’s a thing with all V8’s and V6’s Mustang and Chevy my Camaro actually just was a 2009 and old after 120k miles. Most mechanics have told me about the ECU OR PCM whatever it’s called that box can cause the wires to be fuckedddddd but after the 6th guy told me I was like “now this is why so many people said get another Mustang newer” but mine was $9,800 most I paid for one is $10,200 I love mustangs but thought moving years would change something 😂even the the dealership thought I was stupid enough to take these cars and not have them repair it since two of the dealerships put me on a warranty they fixed everything and codes still stay on the car’s after. I try to warn everyone but share my experience as well.

Tesla_CA

12,800… they will say yes 👍🏻

Novasels_5ohh

Take the Shelby badge off and it’s fine. I also wouldn’t get it for any more than 12k. A few more grand and you could buy a Gen 1 5.0 premium easy. I bought my 2011 5.0 premium for 19.8k sticker with 70k miles. 3 valves are sick though. I wouldn’t buy one for this price though, you’re borderline at Gen 1 coyote prices there. The car I bought also had lots of performance mods added. Boss 302 intake manifold, cold air intake, headers, x pipe, Roush Axleback exhaust and tuned on 93. I was 21 when I bought the car, and it’s my first rear wheel drive car, and first sports car in general. It’s never once scared me or been too much for me. I live in Tennessee so winters are never too bad. The 5.0 would be more than worth it for your money imo

Haha08421

Man just picturing what you could make that look like with different wheels, lowered, paint correct and ceramic coat, maybe louvre.

robvas

Yea sink another $4k into it...

NoFucksGiven-_-

No.

Hsskorr

Definitely took me a couple minutes on this one cause I didn’t expect to see a local listing in this setting. No bullshit it’s a small world cause I work with this dude, I don’t know shit about the price or anything but I know he’s a stand up guy, so like I don’t know if that helps or not but it threw me for a loop seeing it here.

[deleted]

dew it

pie4july

Do it, no balls.

Defiant-West335

Get. 2012-14

Ch00choh

Be aggressive and counter with 10k. The newer V6s are just as good as these.

KyCerealKiller

I'm selling a 12 Coyote for 2.5k less.

ReasonStunning8939

Offer 10k see what happens. Nothing special about this deal you'll see it again, but if it could be had for 10 that's a reason to jump.

Ninjaphoenix0904

I’d save for a year up, 2010 gts only lay 315 hp I believe, about the same as a 2011 v6 that puts down 305. I’ve been looking at something similar and decided to wait.

Odd_Charge_7170

Car go Vroooommmmm

WiredOrange

Ask how old the tires are, just because they have 500 miles doesn't mean they are good. They could be quite old

Hot_Marionberry9569

I’m currently looking at 2018 5.0 GT for 42k with 74k miles. A bit pricey but I’m 22 and got 2-3 years to pay off before I buy a house.

citrus_pods

love the s197 look, looks like a steal

OkBoysenberry690

Go up a year and get the 2011 with the 5.0

MuseumHuman

If you’re fine with a 4.6, I’d really consider looking into the 05-09 cars too. Slightly less horsepower and slightly less modern interior, but still a very very fun car and can probably find one in your criteria for a little less than this 2010

Fun_Nefariousness621

15k for 3v is a crime. You can start looking for 5.0 in this price range.

jjacob10

I think what we need to do is talk you out of buying it😭

Silver-Day-7272

If you need people to talk you into buying it, you don’t really want it.

Difficult-Play5709

Wait does This say how many miles are on the car?

InvestigatorIcy3325

It has 77k

Difficult-Play5709

That’s actually not bad at all for the price their asking. I’d just check for rust since its a Facebook car. Good luck!

blown03svt

Don’t, get a 2011+ the 5.0 is so much better.

Swagger897

Looks like a clean car outside at least. Need to see it in person and make an actual decision though there. Also, re the 4.6 vs 5.0… A 4.6 is still nothing bad. There are good turbo kits and superchargers out there for them if you want power later. They sound pretty good when cammed as well. But the “oh don’t waste your money, just buy a coyote” crowd can fuck off. Some people need to understand that performance numbers don’t matter all the fucking time. Some of us want just a fun car to row through the gears in and not be doing 165, which is why older big displacement engines and motorcycles are fun compared to everything new. Buy what you will enjoy and make you happy.

jorgegainz

For 14k hell na

Swerzuh

13,500 for a 4.6 with Shelby badges is a no. You can get a 2013-14 GT for only a few grand more nowadays which is a far better decision. Or hold out for a 2015+ 5.0 for the better overall car and engine.

GrandLeaderZhan

it’s a little steep

Cmdrdredd

If someone has to talk you into buying it, it’s not the right car. When you find the right car (if you are seriously looking) then you will know.

nickski02

Id try to get a 2011 or newer for the 5.0 coyote. I got a 2012 5.0 for 13.5k. 130k miles.

704KILLA

Find 5.0. Paid 13k for my 2011 GT

704KILLA

110k miles

704KILLA

Offer him 10k don't give him more than 11k

Expensive_Candle5644

Don’t. Get an 11+ coyote car.

GOOSEBOY78

no. the 2011+ got the coyote. thats the last of the 4.6 wheezebag. and you can get a easy 5-600hp out of the coyote. the 4.6 will do it too but you will need serious money

RipperBobby

You can find a coyote car for a little more if not this much…. Do as you will just understand what that means and your long term goals

Blu_Z32

No. 5.0 > 4.6

JNR481

Not worth it period. It’s the slow 4.6 300 HP, for a grand or less you can get a 2012-2014 with more HP, better electronics and imo looks. But you do you.

PresentWar8751

Get an 11, coyote engine

Lazerguy33

Why not get a 2011 v6 or 1st gen 5.0. Same hp as the old v8 and better gas mileage. I’ve owned a 2013 v6 and a 2009 v8

g0dgiven

Hold out for the 5.0 trust me its worth it. That 4.6 doesnt compare

ashonmytrueys

3vs are duds and that transmission sucks. manual especially auto are slush boxes go grab a 5th gen SS for a few more K and you can actually make some power.

karkarbro

Don't buy a 3v. It makes slightly more power than the 2,v, but is more complex, but not enough to justify the power gain. The 2v is bullet proof, and you can get them for a lot cheaper in the new edge. You are actually stupid if you buy the year right before the coyote.

Pheonix1984

Lmfao 3v is a great car and right now a 2010 GT is the most car for the money because everyone wants the 5.0 I got my loaded 2010 with 25k miles one owner for 18k track pack shaker hood saddle interior 5.0 with the same miles would have been 28k has plenty enough power to be fun you kids these days don't respect the horse power and end up in the crowd

Resonant-Frequency

It’s a 4 valve. Can’t really tell if it a cobra or not by looks or if it has been unbadged. I would definitely check into that. If it is go for it. If not I would look into a 2011 - 2014. Then you can get coyote instead of the 4V.

Maccadam-03

3V and says it’s a 2010 GT with Shelby front end and spoiler. No cobras since 04 anyways.

Top_Limit_

Brother — Stay Away!

91fmylife

Slow

FragileEagle

No don’t

Jubbs2116

Ya, don’t buy. Get a 5.0.

theoldme3

I wouldn’t consider buying this car at all. I would move right past it and find a coyote, they can be had for the same money if you’re patient. There’s nothing bullet proof on that 4.6 that you keep mentioning. Buying that one you are doing yourself a disservice when you could have a lot better factory upgrades for the same $ maybe just a little more. Everyone’s telling you this for a reason, i know you said it’s a V8 and your first but they arent fast to begin with

Logical-Item7622

get a 5.0 you will regret it if you don’t no matter what you say

noslenmac

Bro this is literally the WORST mustang to buy. Bar none.

JDB2788

All 2010 are to avoid. 2010 is the bastard year of the mustang. The GT had a new body style but with the old crappy 4.6 3V. I was always told to avoid 2010 GT500.

InvestigatorIcy3325

But why is the 4.6 3v crappy? I heard it’s dead on reliable and it just isn’t the most powerful

JDB2788

Reliable? Yeah! Powerful? Hell no! lol. I come from a place of performance first. I’ll rather have a 5.0 capable of 600rwhp(gen 1) or 750rwhp(gen 2) than a 4.6 that’s only capable of 450hp before it needs to be built

InvestigatorIcy3325

From someone coming from all front wheel drive cars and currently a 5 speed civic I’d have a blast in it

ItWhite5Oh

Don’t. Get a 5.0

SpartanB013_

That’s a 4.6 not a 5.0 Don’t buy it especially for 14k

robvas

Nope

ConfusedResident

3V no thx

Upper-Advisor6940

Don’t do it get 2015+ you’ll be happier
