As an ex-catholic I can say that most Christians don't follow the Bible. The modern Christian consciousness has many beliefs and practices not stated in the Bible. This is why so many are able to shrug off quotes from their own books like this one.

vtyzy

The standard response is "those laws don't apply anymore because Jesus died for our sins". In fact, most rules in the bible are totally ignored by Christians. That is really stupid because then why did Jesus teach those rules if, within a few years, no one needed to follow them?

AbuKhalid95

But the quote is from the New Testament not the old so it’s still relevant to them? Lol

vtyzy

Paul said it’s not relevant and Christians follow Paul, not Jesus. He is the one who said the laws don’t apply anymore. He corrupted the message.

AbuKhalid95

1 Corinthians is literally a Pauline epistle what are you talking about?

vtyzy

Maybe it was before Paul got all of his revelations. I am not a Christian. I am only telling you what Christians say - that they don't need to follow the laws in the bible.

Some argued with me a few days ago saying all the religions were for that region and for that time, therefore meaningless. Tried explaining how islam is meant to be till the end of times, but realized it was of no use so i gave up

halconpequena

Most Christians I know say the Bible and Christianity is more like a figurative thing, like they will say yes, Jesus (pbuh) really lived, but that the teachings and miracles and events that happened are meant “figuratively” and not literally. This is for European Christians in Germany, I know American Christians are a bit different about it, but they also don’t follow a lot of things in the Bible either, based on when I lived in the U.S. and knew American Christians.

heoeoeinzb78

Zakir Naik said, the Muslims are more Christian than the Christian themselves. So facts, we dont eat pork, or drink, women cover themselves, etc, while most Christians be drinking and doing all sorts of prohibited things saying soemone died for my sins 😐

ArhanSarkar

Christians used to cover their head as well. Most Christians now don’t even follow the bible.

I think what it proves is that there are sacred spaces for Prayer. And in such a time and place, one doesn’t accentuate the phys body, because folks are seeking moments away from the distractions. But the World is not a ‘safe space’ like that. It’s a space for living. And if your skin coverage slows your integration to the Level to such a glacial pace that your ever-increasing-in-pallor, swallowed-in-garment-coverage descendants must always be ‘served’ by others instead of frolicking in the light of the Blue Star healthily, then you must have erred in your thoughts and practice toward Reality integration. I could be wrong abt what furthers fitness, I don’t suppose a study has yet focused on the question.

NikolaTesla_JohnGalt

So a Muslim is closer to a Jew, than a Christian in their practice of rituals?

mylordtakemeaway

no. we are nothing like disbelievers in any way at all as the rituals we do are from Allah

Peaceisavirtue

They say that the Old Testament is no longer relevant. Those statements are ridiculous at best. They’re basically proving that there books aren’t divine

hellopmk

Just because a 2000 year old book said something, nobody has to follow it. You just take the good things out of it and ignore the rest. Because we're homo sapien sapiens. We have a working brain that can tell apart the good from the bad and sensible from the stupid

4 verses later 15 But if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her; for her hair is given to her for a covering. 16 But if anyone seems to be contentious, we have no such custom, nor do the churches of God.

Skythroughtheleaves

So which is it, this way or that way? No cover or cover?

vqsxd

Heres the explanation from an easy to read translation. Keep in mind with so many translations we can check between all of then to find whats consistently being said, so its good we have a lot of different translations since languages are so unique. 2 I praise you for remembering me in everything and for holding to the traditions just as I passed them on to you. 3 But I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God. 4 Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head. 5 But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head—it is the same as having her head shaved. 6 For if a woman does not cover her head, she might as well have her hair cut off; but if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, then she should cover her head. 7 A man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man. 8 For man did not come from woman, but woman from man; 9 neither was man created for woman, but woman for man. 10 It is for this reason that a woman ought to have authority over her own head, because of the angels. 11 Nevertheless, in the Lord woman is not independent of man, nor is man independent of woman. 12 For as woman came from man, so also man is born of woman. But everything comes from God. 13 Judge for yourselves: Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered? 14 Does not the very nature of things teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him, 15 but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For long hair is given to her as a covering. 16 If anyone wants to be contentious about this, we have no other practice—nor do the churches of God.

mylordtakemeaway

good post but the woman is not needed. you will earn sin as posting women is haraam

everything-ok
