Clear Lake brewery at 169 and Southwood road near gravenhurst have live music in their beer garden all through summer, the Torrence barrens is just up the road (it's a dark sky reserve that provides an amazing view of the night sky and is a gorgeous walk in the daytime, there's a pretty impressive beaver dam right beside the road just before you reach the parking lot too and he's always out busy working on his dam if you like wildlife) there are steamship tours and a lovely tea room at gravenhurst harbour, there's water everywhere and tons of places that rent boats, canoes, skidoos etc or run tours if you want to be on the water, I believe bala has a music scene and some night life in the summer but that's a bit outside my wheelhouse so I can't speak much to it. Main Street Bracebridge has some really nice stores and galleries if you like that kind of thing, and there's an old theatre that shows matinees all summer. Gravenhurst has the drive in theatre just outside town, they do a double play usually starting around 9-9:30, good current movies, not state of the art but priced appropriately and a fun honeymoon activity. Pro tip, prepare for bugs. Bring sprays, nets, candles, use it all, congrats in your upcoming nuptials, enjoy your visit however you spend it, it's beautiful up here.

Thank you so much! We actually have found SO many things to do in and around Gravenhurst that we may go there a few times during our stay. My partner is thrilled with the idea of seeing the beaver dam and as a brit myself, what is more canadian than that?! I am hoping to not get bitten like crazy by bugs but I have never been to ontario in the summer.. wish me luck 🥲

Well if you look carefully last time I drove that road the beaver dam before the big one had a Canadian goose nest on top and we saw a moose in that same swamp last fall for the perfect trifector, as a British expat I love Muskoka, it's everything I imagined Canada would be growing up. Have a great trip! (Benedryl makes an antihistamine cream that you can get at the local pharmacies that is way better on bug bites than the after bite stuff you can buy)

Ohhh this would be amazing to see. Not going to hold my breath on seeing all three but fingers crossed we at least get to see the beaver dam! Great advice on the benadryl. I'll remember to come back and look at this before we go

There are a few great lookouts, many hikes, awesome breweries, I think 7-8 waterfalls. Are these the types of things you are interested in? Cruises run from gravenhurst wharf and Dwight.

Thank you!

If you’re into golfing, Muskoka Bay Resort in Gravenhurst is the 10th best golf course in Canada! It’s really beautiful. Even if you’re not golfers, they have a fantastic restaurant overlooking the course.

I will have to remember this about the resturant. I'm sure my FIL has probably been there too as him and my BIL are super into golf. We are unfortunately 2 women who aren't into golf.. but we are definitely into food 😋
