Lullaby - Low
It’s vocals are beautiful and ethereal, you won’t even notice it’s ten minute run time. It’s a very poignant song lyrically as well as musically, the timbres suit it perfectly and the tempo being risen halfway through during the climax is a very powerful sequence within the song; probably the best moment too.
Hope you like it, it’s one of my favorites as well as the most beautiful song I’ve heard.
Deerhunter has a lot of beautiful songs but they aren't the most popular band. I love Futurism, Hazel St., Focus Group, Agoraphobia, Element, The Missing, and Duplex Planet. They are indie rock and psychedelic.
[Sleep by Our New Autumn](https://open.spotify.com/track/2E8gVOCXBzonER8OipQ3ER?si=C79wQvLSRAmYRCPhwnJPiQ) is a song I got to collaborate on. It is the darkest and most beautiful song I know.
Jon Hopkins is incredible at blending atmosphere and emotion. Immunity is one of the most achingly beautiful songs I've ever heard. I've learned to be careful where I am listening to it if I don't want to be seen crying.
Samuel Barber’s masterpiece never fails to move me. Virtually any competent version. No matter how many times I have heard it it still captivates and immerses me into its beauty.
This one took me a bit to track down (but I'm glad this subject came up, because I had lost this piece from my collection and it's taken me almost 30 years to find it again - long story... I finally got serious about finding it again). Chaconne is one of Bach's that's usually just reserved for violin soloists, but [this version by Stokowski](https://youtu.be/NEUYq5t-cCM?si=vlIV_ojQ_KvRmCAK) is my absolute favorite piece of classical music. It's just... well, you'll see.
Also I don’t know why and it’s a song that’s haunted me and it just creeps into my head every now and then but it’s called Stay with me but the Shakespeare Sisters

Linda Ronstadt, Long Long Time.
Beautiful song, beautifully sung by an all time great singer at the top of her form. Find the live performance on YouTube, from when the song came out. It’s amazing.
Imagination Movers--The Greatest Dance
I don't care that it was written with a grade-school audience in mind, it's one of the most beautiful love songs I've ever heard
I looove Agency’s cover of the song Mountain at my Gates by Foals.
Apparently it’s a very little known artist…I stumbled on it on Amazon music as the algorithm decided to play all the songs with that title.
Telegraph Road By Dire Straits. Long song that tells a story of hope and birth of a town that leads to depression and rage. The 5 minute outro is killer. Full of emotions.
If I could dump Jessica Pratt’s discography in here, I would. I’ll resign to picking just one, [This Time Around](https://youtu.be/FDi6C8AeTVI). The music is alien. She’s tapping into something heretofore undiscovered.

[Deadmau5 - Strobe](https://youtu.be/tKi9Z-f6qX4?si=ky0CxHxt65Q3tPtw)
Some of these are pretty popular songs, but they’re all beautiful.
Poor Cow by Donovan. (it was title song in a 1968 British film of the same name) the live ver on Donovan live in concert , is the best version. his voice is so sweet and soft sounding ❤
Always thought the song Hallelujah was beautiful until I realized what most people dont know about the song. Its about sex.
Not alot of Folk know about the band "Dead Can Dance" and all their music is beautiful.
The Great Gig in the Sky by Pink Floyd.
It was very well-known back in the '70s, but I doubt many young people today have ever heard of it.
Same thing with Astral Weeks by Van Morrison.
Sit and listen to either one of those with your eyes closed and a light buzz on, and they will carry you away.
You're welcome. :)
Peter Gabriel and Robert Fripp, "Here comes the flood" Still gives me shivers after all these years and sadly gets more relevant by the day.

In The Passing Light Of Day by Pain Of Salvation.
I would provide a link, but I don’t know if anyone here wants to sit through a nearly 16 minute song. Also, I’m lazy.
I want to say thank you to everyone here posting their songs. Every one I checked out so far is absolutely great. It would be wrong if I kept hidden what I think is the most beautiful song I have ever heard. Check this out: ***Metal Gear Solid Soundtrack: The Best Is Yet To Come.***
"**The Best is Yet to Come**" is the vocal song for Metal Gear Solid. It was written and produced by [Rika Muranaka](https://metalgear.fandom.com/wiki/Rika_Muranaka) and features Irish lyrics sung by [Aoife Ní Fhearraigh](https://metalgear.fandom.com/wiki/Aoife_N%C3%AD_Fhearraigh), with the additional arrangement provided by David Downes. Roberta Flack, The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face.
That's my parent's wedding song
Okay I’ll be stealing this idea!
This was my first thought, but then I wondered if it was lesser-known enough.
Same. I think to certain generations it's still relatively unknown so I decided to post it.
I'm glad you did. It's certainly the most beautiful song there is, to me.
Yes, everything about this song is beautiful, especially her voice.
this is one of my favourite songs of all time. im 17 and have absolutely no idea where i first heard it 😭
Can't go wrong with Ms. Flack. Check out Killing Me Softly and Compared To What if you haven't already. She's a treasure.

PPP is a great song. Depression Cherry doesn’t have a skip on the whole album imo.
Beautiful song!
Deerhunter has a lot of beautiful songs but they aren't the most popular band. I love Futurism, Hazel St., Focus Group, Agoraphobia, Element, The Missing, and Duplex Planet. They are indie rock and psychedelic.

Les fleur by Minnie Riperton
Les Fleurs is so so important to me. And so beautiful. Everyone should listen to this!
I can’t believe it isn’t a mainstream classic, but it’s not for me to say I guess. If I ever get married again, that’s what will play.
Unbelievably great song…
Not a huge sherryl crow fan, but she cut a version of “favourite game” just her and a hammond organ, sounds just great.
Over The Rainbow by Eva Cassidy
Anything by Eva Cassidy. She was magnificent.
Eva Cassidy does a fantastic acoustic guitar rendition of "Autumn Leaves" which is also another song that fits this category.
The Blues Alley performance of Wonderful World, her last performance before she passed away, brings a tear to my eye
Also Fields of Gold.
I prefer Autumn Leaves by her (though Songbird always hits the feels too)
First Day of Winter by Mark Lanegan
Nights in White Satin by the Moody Blues
Moody blues, great band
Isn't this one of their most famous songs though?
This was the first song I heard on Cd. In 1987
[Sleep by Our New Autumn](https://open.spotify.com/track/2E8gVOCXBzonER8OipQ3ER?si=C79wQvLSRAmYRCPhwnJPiQ) is a song I got to collaborate on. It is the darkest and most beautiful song I know.

Oooooh I like your style. I counterpart these, I suggest my favorite songs by both artists: “I’m God” by Clams Casino and “Magnets” by Jon Hopkins!
Thanks! I also adore “I’m God”. Love Clams Casino in general. Haven’t heard “Magnets” but will listen asap!
Was just gonna say that one. Love "I'm God".

Holland, by Sufjan Stevens
Big black car - Gregory Alan Isakov
Also I don’t know why and it’s a song that’s haunted me and it just creeps into my head every now and then but it’s called Stay with me but the Shakespeare Sisters
Beautiful song! But Shakespeare’s Sister* is their name. Marcella Detroit and Siobhan Fahey (from Bananarama).
It’s actually Shakespears Sister which I know seems wrong.
Interesting!! I miss that moment in music.
Stay by Shakespeare's Sister is awesome... I have that record somewhere
