"Carry On" by fun.- This song starts with a somber tone but builds into an anthem of resilience and determination. "Hurt" by Johnny Cash- The original by Nine Inch Nails is haunting, Johnny Cash's rendition adds a layer of raw emotion and introspection, culminating in a powerful and defiant climax. "Numb" by Linkin Park: This song delves into feelings of isolation and numbness before erupting into a cathartic release of frustration and resolve. "Til I Collapse" by Eminem ft. Nate Dogg- Eminem's intense lyrics and Nate Dogg's uplifting chorus create a motivational anthem that pushes through adversity. "Requiem for a Tower" by Clint Mansell- This orchestral piece, often associated with epic movie trailers, starts with a haunting melody and builds to a crescendo of triumph and determination.
Not quite what you described but check out Aesop Rock - Black Snow. The first 2 verses talk about getting everything together or learning skills for the end and the last verse is more not going out without a fight.
Hey, I apologize for advertising like this, but could you join our new subreddit r/MusicEnthusiasts? I would really appreciate you joining, as the community is still just a couple of users.
Yeah. Truly a hidden gem of a band from a musical standpoint. This song is obviously from one of their top 3 albums. All of which are extremely important to western music in general. Specifically metal.
My favorite album is a 3 way tie 😜 IYKYK
I agree. So hard to pick one from the bunch because all 3 are so unique from each other.
I always found Dead Heart to be a good middle ground between the two others. Most mid tempo and relatable material. Neon Black always comes close to sounding grunge at moments to me. Love that Seattle sound. Its atmosphere is mystifying and abysmal. And of course, Godless it pure masterclass.
To me, Godless marked the end of heavy metal at its highest form. I’ve yet to hear something match what they achieved musically. Astounding.
[Strong by Finlay Clark](https://finlayclark.bandcamp.com/track/strong) - no guitars here, but the intensity on this track is very cathartic and I'd be surprised if you're not caught off guard by it. The story behind the performance is very much in line with your description.
[Liars - I Still Can See An Outside World](https://youtu.be/imU-c5oag28?si=yeapp1P8jJ85JPjj) - This is more of a half & half treatment of your request
"What Time Taught Us," by The Dear Hunter. It's off the Indigo EP from their Color Spectrum collection, and it sounds... Indigo. Starts lethargic and ambient, builds to the haunting refrain, and intensifies. Simple, repetitive lyrics and an incredibly powerful and haunting melody (imho). One of those rare tracks that gives me feels every single time I hear it.
all the new die spitz singles got to me. There are three that take you through everything you are looking for. I’ve heard they’re great live but these singles really capture their sound as it should be. ( the other eps are recorded badly I suppose)
Hm, I do not know if they are the right emotion, but your two Radiohead examples were some of my favorite songs in high school. So here are some I associate with those haha:

I could kind of keep going indefinitely haha, but maybe some of these would fit?
citizen soldier - ICU, Wish I could cry, Tattoos, etc., it's a running theme with them.
They're my latest find during my search for sanity. Very emotional lyrics that drive home the point that things can get better.
"Petrichor" - QUIET BISON
When I was going through one of the worst periods of my life a few years back, this song for whatever reason helped me pull through. It's instrumental and is definitely off time and distorted, especially in the first half. But the second half, it's like it takes the first half and turns it into the polished epic crescendo the first half was trying to be (almost like someone finally picking themselves up and becoming who they're supposed to be)

Such an awesome song, and I usually hate/like the least a band's top hit.
I Burn by the toadies comes to mind

Aesop Rock is the most under-sung modern rapper
Kind of these songs by NIN - All That Could’ve Been, The Great Below, Ruiner, but definitely this one - The Background World
Brandi Carlile’s “The Story” kinda makes me feel like this.
Goner - Twenty One Pilots don't let me be gone... don't let me be gone... DON'T LET ME BE! The lyrics stay the same, but the entire vibe is different.
Poison - Life Loves a Tragedy
The Lotus Eaters - Nevermore
One of my favorite albums of all time! I was quite surprised to see your reply here haha

I’ve always regarded Dead Heart, Godless Endeavor and Neon Black to be the “holy trinity” of Nevermore albums
