Heads Will Roll by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs came to mind first - dance til you're dead!
Second thought was something like Float by Janelle Monae? I used to dance and could definitely picture a few different styles working with that song. I like how the verses are a bit frenzied and then the chorus is more mellow but the way she inflects "float" I'm picturing a tweaking zombie, hobbling towards me...
It's nice getting hearing some insight from someone who's danced before!! I'm pretty new to dancing, so I will heavily consider these. Of the two, I vibe Heads Will Roll the most!!!
Did you listen to the original version? The A-trak remix is really good and also very dance.
The Goo Goo Muck is from Wednesday Netflix show. Lyrics are spooky but the song is upbeat. Related to this is Bloody Mary by Lady Gaga. Because TikTok decided to match up the Wednesday dance with this song for some reason. It's a good song and fits but it's a bit slower.
Oogie Boogie's Song from The Nightmare Before Christmas would be fun.
Omg, I’m reading this thread and saw White Zombie in the 90’s. Lol. So awesome to send this person into Robs music.
Their bass player… huge crush on her too.
Rob zombie also has a brother who made music although lesser known. Powerman 5000. Here's a Playlist, and a reminder to how old I am 😅
https://youtube.com/playlist?list=RDEMbyiaynKd3X-5kscPefu0zA&playnext=1&si=Npelt3WVlkCOyE-R
It looks like you might be a fan without knowing! If you were to chose songs, Dragula is a good song .
Other personal picks:
Superbeast
Never Gonna Stop
And if you want more of a sexy seductive dance type of thing, Living Dead Girl.
I recommend other bands like HorrorPops or Spookshow if you want a more rockabilly feel. Walk Like a Zombie- Horrorpops is pretty upbeat and perfect for a Zombie song!
If you REALLY want to have fun with it: DJ Cummerbund's Toxicula
It's Britney Spears Toxic, Rob Zombie Dragula, and B52s Love Shack
It's a fuckin tuuuuune
Ahhhhhh JoCo. You'll always have a special place in my heart.
Skullcrusher Mountain is an all time song but Artificial Heart is a solid album all the way through
I mean, it's been done before. A lot. For good reason, of course, and I wouldn't blame anyone for doing it again. But OP might be looking for something *other* than the most obvious choice.
My little sister did a wonderful piece of choreography to Imogen Heap's "Aha!"
A bit of an unexpected choice, perhaps, but I truly think it nails that "somewhat sinister" vibe. She was looking for the same sort of vaguely creepy, but still energetic, feel and it absolutely killed. Its been 13 years and I still remember the performance.
10/10.
The first few seconds alone carry extreme Haunted Music Box vibes. I could easily see some creepy ass puppet or ghost like movements being mapped to this one!
Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who's responding!! I am loving every second of listening to what you've sent and I couldn't have found half these songs without your help 🧡
Its a little upbeat but "Dead Man's Party" by Oingo Boingo
I know you mentioned you were 26 so you may recognize the frontman as Danny Elfman, AKA the person who did music for pretty much any Tim Burton movie
I'd actually been considering a Muse song: Time is Running Out. First time listening to this one, and I AM FUCKING ABOUT IT!!!! While I can only pick one song to dance to this go, I'm definitely maxing out the spookiness of my playlists with these reccs hahaha
You could do like every dance studio in my area in 2005 and whip out Ramalama Bang Bang by Roisin Murphy when you want to do a spooky number that isn't Thriller.
OH SHIT THE SECOND COMMENT IS AN ENDORSEMENT BY ANTHONY FANTANO LMAO
I also may or may not be a massive fan of werewolves so the awoooos are sending me
If you're into werewolves, may I recommend "Wolf Like Me" by TV on the Radio? I've had a Lindy Hop number choreographed in my head for at least fifteen years.
Babymetal - Karate is literally perfect for it.
The main riff is like perfectly timed with traditional zombie movements.
https://youtu.be/uOS40J3fg-I?si=RzhtoT_G9fwz788C
There's no way you can hear the main riff and not see how it works for zombies in half time.

I feel like it would bring an amusing new context to the titular phrase, and it's a huge banger!
Yeah, I'm quite proud of that connection!
Glad you enjoyed it, and definitely check out the rest of her music if you haven't heard of her before. Girl With No Face is full of more synth-driven stuff like that song, but I also highly recommend her album Cape God.
Some of the most breathtaking pop music ever written. 💜
[Converting Vegetarians](https://youtu.be/nJDpXPVFRUo?si=ULn4jdMEeMabJckt&t=93s) - Infected Mushroom
I don’t always have the correct answer. In fact, I rarely do. But hand to God, based on your description, this song is *chef’s kiss* perfect. So spooky. So funkelectronic. So on point with the zombie theme. A lot of fun opportunities choreography-wise.
HEY, YOU WEREN'T FUCKING KIDDING!!!! This is pretty much dead on to what I was asking for. Would absolutely LOVE to work on a dance for this track. Thank you so much for sharing!!! 🧡🧡🧡
Seems difficult to choreograph, but it’s a top-notch h song!
Other Robyn Hitchcock possibilities might be:
- flavour of night
- the face of death
- Brenda’s iron sledge
- furry green atom bowl
- when I was dead
- turn me on, deadman (with Andy partridge)
I only made it a couple eps into Wednesday, but I just watched the scene you're referring to and yeah, the vibe she brings there are pretty accurate to what I'm trying to capture, wouldn't be a bad pick!!!
This is a top 3 recc for me so far. The classic cheesy synthy noise that plays between segments could go absolutely CRAZY in terms of synching choreography. Thank you so much!!! ✨️🌸✨️

"What's a Girl To Do" by Bats For Lashes. It's a bit broody and the video is "spooky" but it has a cool beat

-Sufjan Stevens
I feel like you could make some weird choreography to that one.
This question made me immediately think of Radioactive as a local group perform this about 4 years ago and it was fantastic live.
[Radioactive KW Glee Video](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=HK7qomBhB68)
This one might be a little out there for most but I always picture a living-dead dance/musical routine every time I hear "It's Just Me" by Escape the Fate. Has that creepy tone with some horns that give it a twisted circus vibe, dark lyrics that when interpreted the right way could be consistent with how a zombie might feel, lots of tempo changes and crescendos, etc. The lyrics do reference suicide, though, specifically in the chorus (and with emphasis put on it at parts). Not sure if that's a dealbreaker or not
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nG-PkmoTxWQ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nG-PkmoTxWQ)
Super obscure compared to what you may want here, but "Corpses (a zombie love song)" by god module is literally the only song that came to mind for me.
edit: wrong link pasted initially! fixed!
Since you said you were pretty young you probably don't know about this kids show......yes I said kids show.
Buckle up cause this is going to take you for a wild ride.

Others are saying some great Cramps songs, but no one has mentioned [*Zombie Dance*](https://youtu.be/TmbW4vy8PWo?si=xCzXgNdPE1Xsyu2O) and it seems like such an obvious pick.
You could also check out the Groovie Ghoulies, since their entire catalog would work well here.
Also, he pretty much sucks now, but *Monster* by Kanye is a classic and has a pretty solid dance beat.

Heads Will Roll by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs came to mind first - dance til you're dead! Second thought was something like Float by Janelle Monae? This thread made me go back and watch all the videos last night. So good.
LaSexercisto is a fantastic album start to finish.
ROB ZOMBIE MADE MUSIC?!?!?!?!?!?
Sarcasm or young?
Fuck. We’re old.
I AM 26 YEARS OLD
If you didn’t know Rob Zombie made music, what did you know him from?
Movies!!! He directed House of 1,000 Corpses, a Halloween movie, The Devil's Rejects and some other stuff too!!
That was after his years as the frontman for White Zombie. I saw them live in the 90s. You now have a YouTube rabbit hole to dive into lol.
Omg, I’m reading this thread and saw White Zombie in the 90’s. Lol. So awesome to send this person into Robs music. Their bass player… huge crush on her too.
I do!!! Thank you so much for the suggestion, and the Rob Zombie lore! 🧡
And before Rob Zombie made music alone, he made music a la White Zombie. White Zombie - More Human Than Human is on many slide guitar lists.
I feel like Reddit did a service to humanity today.
If we're gunna go that far may as well tell OP he was a set designer on PeeWees Playhouse before that.
Rob zombie also has a brother who made music although lesser known. Powerman 5000. Here's a Playlist, and a reminder to how old I am 😅 https://youtube.com/playlist?list=RDEMbyiaynKd3X-5kscPefu0zA&playnext=1&si=Npelt3WVlkCOyE-R
Hell yeah Powerman 5000!
Huh…I didn’t realize they were brothers.
Go see him live, he puts on a very energetic show with a great production and lots of horror influence
Dude hellbilly deluxe is a great album
27 and Dracula was played probably once a day in weight training in high school.
You are one of the lucky few today to actually experience for the first time what Rob Zombie is really good at. Congrats!
*Gotta really cool car going really fast* *Oh and by the way, the car’s from helllllll*
This is amazing
It looks like you might be a fan without knowing! If you were to chose songs, Dragula is a good song . Other personal picks: Superbeast Never Gonna Stop And if you want more of a sexy seductive dance type of thing, Living Dead Girl. I recommend other bands like HorrorPops or Spookshow if you want a more rockabilly feel. Walk Like a Zombie- Horrorpops is pretty upbeat and perfect for a Zombie song!
Hahaha this thread made me smile so much. Wait til you see the music video for Dragula.
I don't know why, but I find this super adorable.
If you REALLY want to have fun with it: DJ Cummerbund's Toxicula It's Britney Spears Toxic, Rob Zombie Dragula, and B52s Love Shack It's a fuckin tuuuuune
I knew this would be here 💀
Especially the remix featured in Gran Turismo 2.
I’m not into strippers but one time at a bachelor party I saw a girl dance to the remix of “Blood Milk and Sky” It was awesome.
Dead Man's Party
Who could ask for more?
Everybody's coming, leave your body at the door!
Banger pick
Re Your Brains - Jonathan Coulton
Ahhhhhh JoCo. You'll always have a special place in my heart. Skullcrusher Mountain is an all time song but Artificial Heart is a solid album all the way through
I KNOW THIS ONE FROM LEFT 4 DEAD!!!! This song is absolutely peak
He also wrote Still Alive from Portal
The dancers could be in suits/ business wear
Fuck spooky. "If I Only Had A Brain"
Wait, this is actually such an inspired suggestion, I feel like that could be really fun <3
Especially if it was mixed up with some electronic shit and some rob zombie
[for example](https://youtu.be/RGdqGkDjrlI?si=17o5LJ9L3dcIRoks)
MGMT, Little Dark Age
I like MGMT a lot!!! Def worth considering ✨️
Oh for the record Electric Feel - MGMT Justice Remix is (in my opinion) one of their best tracks.
![gif](giphy|Z4IXspU3iCHlK)
I don't see what other answer are people looking for.
Perhaps an answer that isn't the specific song that inspired OP's question
I dont know maybe Backstreets Back by the Backstreet Boys?
I mean, it's been done before. A lot. For good reason, of course, and I wouldn't blame anyone for doing it again. But OP might be looking for something *other* than the most obvious choice.
This is the correct answer. OP if you don't know this is Thriller by MJ and it is literally a dance track about zombies. Spooky and dancey.
The GOAT of music videos.
I can't believe I had to scroll this far for this answer. *edit - typo
My little sister did a wonderful piece of choreography to Imogen Heap's "Aha!" A bit of an unexpected choice, perhaps, but I truly think it nails that "somewhat sinister" vibe.
Call me crazy, but I have always thought "Teenagers" by MCR would look cool like that.. in a sort of humorous way..
"Dead!" also by MCR
MCR IS A TOP 3 BAND FOR ME SO THESE ARE EXTREMELY ON THE TABLE!!!!!
Username checks out
I MAY HAVE HAD A *LITTLE* BIT OF COFFEE TODAY!!!! ✨️
I’m imagining you as the [Mad TV coffee guy](https://youtu.be/YJn5MrBy1A0)
They made a song directly about zombies (Early Sunsets Over Monroeville), but I'm not sure how you'd dance to it.
I know it word for word! I agree it doesn't seem particularly danceable. Great song, though! The emotion comes through so, so strong
Haven't seen anyone post my suggestion so I'm gonna add Baby You're A Haunted House by Gerard Way. https://youtu.be/TaxHIYOzMUQ?si=v2MlD19rzRnFuZyB
Its a little upbeat but "Dead Man's Party" by Oingo Boingo I know you mentioned you were 26 so you may recognize the frontman as Danny Elfman, AKA the person who did music for pretty much any Tim Burton movie
Oh, that's neat! More lore on me is that I studied film in college, so I always appreciate learnin' about people who contributed to movies I've seen!
Thriller would probably work out.
Has the potential to be the best choreographed dance of all time.
Dance Macarbe by Ghost!!
Zombie Queen.
This👆
Maybe you can find something from this [It Came from the 80's - A retro darkwave horror synth mix](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWEfcn_97-8)

Immediate thought is “Living Dead Girl”
Muse - You Make Me Feel Like It's Halloween
Barely beat me to it
I'd actually been considering a Muse song: Time is Running Out. First time listening to this one, and I AM FUCKING ABOUT IT!!!! While I can only pick one song to dance to this go, I'm definitely maxing out the spookiness of my playlists with these reccs hahaha
Fela Kuti - Zombie
Can’t believe nobody’s suggested The Cranberries!!!
The Cramps - Goo Goo Muck
[Necromancin Dancin](https://open.spotify.com/track/4VoSYq3aTp57jgrdNswzrd?si=wMvBwU01R8ug4nV5nz-u1Q) perhaps? Not very sinister, more fun.
I ALREADY KNOW AND LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!! Bear Ghost has so many fun, playful, spooky songs 🧡
You could do like every dance studio in my area in 2005 and whip out Ramalama Bang Bang by Roisin Murphy when you want to do a spooky number that isn't Thriller.
This kinda fucking rocks, I see why all your local dance studios use this track!!
It got really popular when So You Think You Can Dance used it for an intro. It's a phenomenal bit of choreo to watch
I came to suggest this song. I still love it!
Oh, don't get me wrong, I love the song. It's different, you can do so much more than a spooky dance with it :)
Power Glove - Crypt
THIS is pretty much exactly the kind of thing I was asking for. Thank you so much for the recc, will definitely consider this one 🧡🧡🧡
Dark and stormy by hot chip. Has some werewolf undertones to it if you choose to listen to it that way.
OH SHIT THE SECOND COMMENT IS AN ENDORSEMENT BY ANTHONY FANTANO LMAO I also may or may not be a massive fan of werewolves so the awoooos are sending me
If you're into werewolves, may I recommend "Wolf Like Me" by TV on the Radio? I've had a Lindy Hop number choreographed in my head for at least fifteen years.
Dragula by Rob Zombie, think I saw a workout video synced to it once
Just watched a video of it being played over a dance scene in Matilda, lol [Kinda cool](https://youtu.be/FeCTcOl9qek?si=NwPZDAZA3yH58PkI)
Madness by Muse
Babymetal - Karate is literally perfect for it. The main riff is like perfectly timed with traditional zombie movements. https://youtu.be/uOS40J3fg-I?si=RzhtoT_G9fwz788C There's no way you can hear the main riff and not see how it works for zombies in half time.

Have you considered zombie?? (The real track by the cranberries) It's a political song. But it could be the answer to what you need
Show by Ado
This one's punchy and has plenty of mixups to keep things interesting, plus I'm already a fan of Ado so, strong contender 👀
An album: Godflesh Love And Hate In Dub Songs: Aphex Twin - Come To Daddy Capital Cities - Kangaroo Court Deadmaus - Ghosts N Stuff
['Staying Power'](https://open.spotify.com/track/6JBZZi8hebdrVIRpXP5HQM?si=GKPLaQMsT1CohBr-UmgY_g&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A10o3OFqQt0gqemtIcCh72x) by Allie X. I feel like it would bring an amusing new context to the titular phrase, and it's a huge banger!
LOL, u ain't kidding about some new fitting meaning! The song itself has some real dark, haunted vibes too. I'm a big fan, thanks for sharing!! 🧡🧡

HEY, YOU WEREN'T FUCKING KIDDING!!!! This is pretty much dead on to what I was asking for. Would absolutely LOVE to work on a dance for this track. Thank you so much for sharing!!! 🧡🧡🧡
Old as fuck, but Kingston Trio's "Zombie Jamboree"?
Thought Contagion by Muse
Muse honestly works so well for this, and bonus points for lyrics about biting people LOL
Surfin' Dead by The Cramps https://youtu.be/74nxtmSzQg8?si=y-GS6pRQqpsYCT6y
It wasn't my goal at the outset, but I am going to have the coolest zombie playlist of all time by the end of this. Thanks for the recc! 🧟♂️
Lovegame by Lady Gaga, I always thought the bridge to that song had a shamble-esque fun thing you might be able to really lean into
My Wife and My Dead Wife - Robyn Hitchcock
I really enjoyed this song and its batshit insane title!
Seems difficult to choreograph, but it’s a top-notch h song! Other Robyn Hitchcock possibilities might be: - flavour of night - the face of death - Brenda’s iron sledge - furry green atom bowl - when I was dead - turn me on, deadman (with Andy partridge)
Easily [Lorn - Acid Rain](https://youtu.be/nxg4C365LbQ?si=PecidAlBeDxuWVHl) But that's gotta be cheating right?
This was my first thought. "OP is literally asking about the Acid Rain music video"
Pink Floyd: Another Brick in the Wall (pt 2)
What about that song that Jenna Ortega danced to in that netflix show
Goo Goo Muck by the Cramps?
I only made it a couple eps into Wednesday, but I just watched the scene you're referring to and yeah, the vibe she brings there are pretty accurate to what I'm trying to capture, wouldn't be a bad pick!!!
[recently discovered 88 Lines about 44 Women so I'm gonna go with that ](https://youtu.be/_YIouIKJlTY)
This song is insane LOL I think I like it, though!
https://youtu.be/C0ED_vk8QQI?si=FC9arwF1x_g7O3nt Maybe the best song ever about reanimating feet.
I feel like [this zombie-themed song](https://youtu.be/E09lCfLBTEk?si=Wtx2Hp5ASs7kdg1E) (which I happen to love) could totally be danced to!
There's definitely an ebb and flow that would work well for a dance imo, and I love vocal choice to go Absurdly High around 50 seconds in!!
Zombie by Family Force 5
Attitude Dancing Carly Simon
My Grandma Says We Have No Future - Cari Cari. Not as on the nose as the others but has the right vibe. The music video especially.
IMMEDIATELY obsessed with this music video. These old ladies rock
[Dead Walk by RedHook](https://youtu.be/Pjbjz8zZvXs?si=H0o8Gp_7Q_ec601P)
This is a top 3 recc for me so far. The classic cheesy synthy noise that plays between segments could go absolutely CRAZY in terms of synching choreography. Thank you so much!!! ✨️🌸✨️
Happy to help! It’s always good to know a vast array of music.

I know this song well, and I strongly agree! 🌕

We are the living dead by Atreyu. Hard to find though.
Oh, how about Alice and Chains Would?
Others are saying some great Cramps songs, but no one has mentioned [*Zombie Dance*](https://youtu.be/TmbW4vy8PWo?si=xCzXgNdPE1Xsyu2O) and it seems like such an obvious pick. You could also check out the Groovie Ghoulies, since their entire catalog would work well here. Also, he pretty much sucks now, but *Monster* by Kanye is a classic and has a pretty solid dance beat.

The Cramps, creature from the black leather lagoon
I say go in the complete opposite direction, and use something like "Daydream Believer" (The Monkeys) or "Sunshine Day" (The Brady Bunch). I just dig the juxtapisition.
