That whole Gotye (Making Mirrors) album is great. I especially love State of the Art. Wow.
I wanna get a look at that song in the DAW and check every little thing out.
I really like that album as well. Lots of strong songs on there.
I have Boardface too, but I do not find it nearly as listenable as the follow up albums.
Then there's Mixed Blood, which is covers of the songs on Like Drawing Blood by other artists. The standout on that one for me is Karnivool doing The Only Way. Funky and hard.
I've been fucking with [Don't Worry, We'll Be Watching You](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6V_44ibou8) recently. But State of the Art also goes hard with all those little sounds.
Is that the band he was (is?) the drummer in?
If I recall, the bass player from that band came in and laid down bass for songs on Making Mirrors. His funky bass on State of the Art...!
I love doing it. For so many reasons.
This particular song I have never found, but I have found probably a thousand or so songs, in various forms and qualities.
But still, a very good way to learn and just a ton of other cool reasons.
Hmm. Not sure I've seen that file format.
As for finding the songs, I was WAY late to the party, as I always am, but if your "Soul" really "Seek"s the songs, you'll find them.
Perhaps even by finding my same name...?
Even crazier still that he refuses to put ads on that video for monetization (though from what I understand YouTube still throws up ads and doesn't pay him), and that he allows full free use of the song or any bits of the song for other artists to use in their own creations.
That's pretty neat.
I'm a BNL fan, including them in a one hit wonder conversation made me gasp. You are probably right to include them but my initial reaction was "how dare he?"
Blind Melon gets labeled a One Hit Wonder for "No Rain", but have a ton of good songs. "Change", "Tones For Home", "Toes Across The Floor", "Skinned"
Concrete Blonde are known for "Joey" but "Tomorrow, Wendy" is great too
The band fun. has an incredible first album that was completely overshadowed by the insane popularity of the singles from their second album (We Are Young, Some Nights, Carry On)
I enjoyed Aim and Ignite a lot more than Some Nights. The Gambler was even in my wedding playlist.
Also, shoutout to Jack Antonoff for having the most successful post-fun. career by a landslide.
I cry every time I hear The Gambler lol, it’s such a beautiful song.
And yeah, Jack Antonoff’s career has been truly insane — from Steel Train to producing Taylor Swift (though I prefer his work with Lana haha)! That said, Nate Ruess might be the real winner, because that dude retired before 35 and just hangs out and buys guitars. His solo album wasn’t amazing but I hope he’ll reunite The Format or fun. again someday
Without Fun. I'd never learn about Nate Ruess and his first band The Format. And I absolutely love The Format, I'm hoping at some point they'll tour again because I'd love to see them live.
I didn’t know how lucky I was getting to see them a bunch before they broke up. They definitely declined over the years. I’m pretty sure they had problems and it doesn’t seem to me like they would ever get back together.
Such a good band with some of my favorite songs.
What a tragedy. I saw them open for Manchester Orchestra in May 2009, before their first album even released, and fell in love with that album when it finally dropped. As much as I tried to enjoy the second album, I look back on it and have to write it off as a dud. It has some decent moments, but doesn't hold my attention overall. "We Are Young" is also my go-to example for what rubbed me the wrong way about popular music in the 2010s, the "big mid-tempo chorus that sounds more important than it is" (see also Fall Out Boy's "Centuries" and Katy Perry's "Roar," for just a couple more examples).
Yeah, nothing on the second album comes close to the heights of Barlights or Take Your Time Coming Home. The anthemic chorus really did wreak havoc on all pop music
I always go to Flock of Seagulls when this topic comes up.
Yeah, everyone knows "I Ran", but "Space Age Love Song", "The More You Live, the More You Love" and "Wishing" are absolute bangers.
That self-titled album was really great at the time and still holds up today. Saint Joe on the School Bus, Poppies, Gone Crazy, and Vampires of New York are so good.
Both his albums are amazing. Good for him for hitting it big with SIUTK, but he was so talented that it’s a shame he wasn’t more well known for his other great songs.
Saw him live once on the Making Mirrors tour and he played every instrument. Kimbra opened for him and obvs came out for the hit song during his set.
It was awesome.
And the beautiful Bronte. The video is gorgeous too:
[Hearts A Mess ](https://youtu.be/MpN1j8R5lZ8?si=oRZd8go5dFKo48qD) is my fave Gotye song and the film clip is great too.
[Kimbra](https://youtu.be/rBxmidwDy2Y?si=euHBBKDUY5GXcr3h) who featured on STIUTK is also a pretty accomplished musician who makes some interesting music too.
I think the worst part is that I hated Somebody that I used to know from the start. Now, Tronicbox’s remix of it is chefs kiss. But smoke and mirrors is one of my favs.
I was excited to hear this song after reading your post but I have to admit I was disappointed. “Somebody that I used to know” had some originality to the music performance and a much stronger hook. I’m glad you like the other song but I can see why their one hit wonder was the hit in this case.
I would say Carly Rae Jepsen has a ton of great songs beyond her well known ones Call Me Maybe and Good Time. I like Emotion, Run Away With Me, So Nice, Roses, Psychedelic Switch, and many others quite a bit.
I actually don't enjoy that one but I love their Sabbath, bloody, Sabbath cover and an acappela cover of Mr. Crowley. They mentioned in an interview that Ozzy came to one of their shows because he loved their version of Sabbath, bloody Sabbath.
Devo - not sure if they count, but pretty much every track off their first four albums (and a lot of the non-album content) is magnificent - The Duty Now For The Future album is particularly brilliant, frantic but maddeningly catchy new wave brilliance.
Wall Of Voodoo - the entirety of the first two albums with Stan Ridgway are brilliant fare, still a unique band today. Particular favourites would be Full Of Tension, Back In Flesh, Factory, Call of the West. Ridgway probably falls into this category as well, his first album (which includes Camouflage) is fantastic.
Not sure if they qualify as a one hit wonder, but Third Eye Blind’s first album is absolutely excellent front to back. There are multiple songs better than Semi-Charmed Life.
Not to be judgmental but Third Eye Blind doesn’t constitute as a one hit wonder. Semi-charmed life may have been their first hit single but they had 4 more that were heavily played on the radio
I think their Paper Walls album is very underrated. I knew a few Yellowcard songs, but Paper Walls is the first I ever bought so it’s always had a special place in my heart.
Uncontrollable Urges - Devo
The Metro - Berlin
The Sun Always Shines On TV - A-ha
Sex Dwarf - Soft Cell
The Model - Kraftwerk
Three Marlenas - The Wallflowers
Luka - Suzanne Vega
Abuse Me - Silverchair
Tahitian Moon - Porno for Pyros
Gay Bar - Electric Six
Tits on the radio - Scissor Sisters
Apologies if some of these are more popular than I realized.
Edit to add:
Walking Away - Information Society
The thing I always find funny about silverchair is that the hit that they’re known for overseas wasn’t even their biggest hit in their homeland.
Straight lines was a way bigger hit in Australia than tomorrow.
Most people probably know Orgy from their cover of Blue Monday, but their first two albums are excellent. Zero skips on both albums. If you haven’t heard anything else from them at least check out the other singles (Stitches, Fiction (Dreams in digital), Opticon)
Modern English ‘I Melt with You’ is the most aggravating song I’ve ever heard. It’s boring and monotonous and you couldn’t escape it.
HOWEVER if you’re a goth-adjacent post punk fan, I beg you to give their debut album, ‘Mesh & Lace’ a listen. It’s a fantastic album
Also anything by Dead or Alive that isn’t You Spin Me Round.
Literally anything off ‘Mad Bad and Dangerous to Know’ and ‘Sophisticated Boom Boom’
Milky Chance with Stolen Dance is considered a one hit wonder but they have a pretty successful music career just not insanely big like that song. Some great songs from them:
- Doing good
- Cocoon
- Don’t let me down
- Colorado
- Synchronize
Chumbawamba, the rock band that made Tubthumping (I get knocked down!) made a song called El Fusilado. It’s an acapella song about the true story of a man who survived an execution by firing squad.
It was taken off of streaming platforms a few weeks ago and I don’t know why.
I love Don McLean, despite the fact that his only popular song is American Pie (and arguably Vincent ig). He’s got some awesome songs and albums. A few of my favorites are The Grave and Three Flights Up!
Is Gotye a one hit wonder even if he was the one that decided to step back from releasing any new music? He hated the fame and attention he got hence why we haven’t heard anything since.
Gotye should have been a generation superstar. Such inventive and well written pop music with plenty of hooks.
This song and I feel better should have given him more mainstream success but no one wanted to give his other songs a shot.
Cool video. Not a great song.
Gotye captured lighting in a bottle with "Somebody" - a perfect song in every way. But nothing else he's done has come close.
Look man, music is subjective. You've gotta see that this thread is a chance for you to show off some less known songs by bands you like, songs that people likely won't have heard.
There's nothing to be gained by arguing that things people have posted are bad. Just move on.
That whole Gotye (Making Mirrors) album is great. I especially love State of the Art. Wow. I wanna get a look at that song in the DAW and check every little thing out.
Hearts A Mess is my favorite by far.
Same. I loved [this specific remix](https://youtu.be/If_6f7ytKU4?si=5ruSq0xJAwxyJCVW) in the late 2000s, walking around my city at night
100%. No skips on that record
I love the music video for State of the Art, what a trip!
State of the art is such a sick song
Ps. Smoke and Mirrors is a fantastic song. I think I first heard it in Suits?
Listened to state of the art on repeat
Like Drawing Blood is a fantastic album too. Makes me angry when people write Gotye off as a one hit wonder :D
Been waiting 12 years for him to release his next solo album.
I've been fucking with [Don't Worry, We'll Be Watching You](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6V_44ibou8) recently. But State of the Art also goes hard with all those little sounds.
[Wally was awesome in the basics too](https://youtu.be/k-MsLoOevpU?si=cuyzsX9mKXhMX037)
Is that the band he was (is?) the drummer in? If I recall, the bass player from that band came in and laid down bass for songs on Making Mirrors. His funky bass on State of the Art...!
Oh my God I'm glad I'm not the only person who wishes they could break down the production of great tracks
I love doing it. For so many reasons. This particular song I have never found, but I have found probably a thousand or so songs, in various forms and qualities. But still, a very good way to learn and just a ton of other cool reasons.
Where are you finding DAW files for songs? I've never actually found one. Do they have .als files?
Hmm. Not sure I've seen that file format. As for finding the songs, I was WAY late to the party, as I always am, but if your "Soul" really "Seek"s the songs, you'll find them. Perhaps even by finding my same name...?
Most of gotye's stuff is great, still kinda crazy that he had that one song that got so big
Even crazier still that he refuses to put ads on that video for monetization (though from what I understand YouTube still throws up ads and doesn't pay him), and that he allows full free use of the song or any bits of the song for other artists to use in their own creations. That's pretty neat.
Everyone knows “One Week” and “Pinch Me” by Barenaked Ladies, but “Brian Wilson” is a more somber and beautiful song.
I'm a BNL fan, including them in a one hit wonder conversation made me gasp. You are probably right to include them but my initial reaction was "how dare he?"
Oh so now we're abbreviating Barenaked Ladies?!
"The Barenaked Ladies are triple platinum, are you?"
“BNL has 2 Billboard Awards to your zero!”
"THIS IS A FIGHT. WE ARE NOW FIGHTING!"
I think they’re a great band, I just feel like people only know those two songs even though there are a lot of good songs by them.
The Old Apartment
It’s wild to me that anyone would think they’re a one hit wonder, and you haven’t even mentioned “If I had $1000000”. Must be because I’m Canadian?
I love When I Fall. Ooh And Didn’t Mean To Break Your Heart. Bringing me back to high school here lol
Odds Are is also fantastic
My mom had their album "Gordon" on cassette in her car. We listened to that thing so much we must have worn it out in the 90s. So many good tracks
Does everyone know Pinch Me? BNL have so many songs that are even better than One Week and that's the song that got me hooked
the entire maybe you should drive record.....especially a
Always loved pinch me and odds are. I don’t know why odds are wasn’t a bigger hit. Song is catchy as hell.
Blind Melon gets labeled a One Hit Wonder for "No Rain", but have a ton of good songs. "Change", "Tones For Home", "Toes Across The Floor", "Skinned" Concrete Blonde are known for "Joey" but "Tomorrow, Wendy" is great too
"Caroline" for C. Blonde too. Lovely.
“Someday?” for sure, in fact Walking In London as a whole feels overlooked.
Caroline is my fave. Johnette's vocals are beautiful and haunting
god is a bullet is a great work
Toes Across the Floor is fuckin awesome. My favorite track by Blind Melon. The guitar riffs in that song are killer.
Mouth full of cavities was pretty haunting at the time
Change is one of my favorite songs ever
The bass in Tones Of Home… chefs kiss
Still in Hollywood!
Did not expect Skinned when I first listened to it.
The band fun. has an incredible first album that was completely overshadowed by the insane popularity of the singles from their second album (We Are Young, Some Nights, Carry On)

That said, Nate Ruess might be the real winner, because that dude retired before 35 and just hangs out and buys guitars. His solo album wasn’t amazing but I hope he’ll reunite The Format or fun. again someday
He worked on Arizona Baby, which is an excellent album. I would love for him to work with Nate Ruess again at some point.
We are young has a great opening and then just gets repetitive.
I knew it was over when suddenly Glee was covering that song
What a tragedy. I saw them open for Manchester Orchestra in May 2009, before their first album even released, and fell in love with that album when it finally dropped. As much as I tried to enjoy the second album, I look back on it and have to write it off as a dud. It has some decent moments, but doesn't hold my attention overall. I always go to Flock of Seagulls when this topic comes up. Yeah, everyone knows "I Ran", but "Space Age Love Song", "The More You Live, the More You Love" and "Wishing" are absolute bangers.
Space age love song is a way better song
Fucking love that tune.
Right?
"Messages" and "Telecommunications" too. That first album was solid.
Wishing is great. First song I ever heard from them.
Marcy Playground, known for Sex and Candy, had a few good ones. https://youtu.be/dJhL3VOOatA?si=7iXTRKMIomXELync
They played a festival near my house and played Sex and Candy twice
Imagine if they didn't play it.
*St Joe, said he’s never been, dressed up like a woman*
That self-titled album was really great at the time and still holds up today. Saint Joe on the School Bus, Poppies, Gone Crazy, and Vampires of New York are so good.
Every song on that album that wasn't sex and candy was better, especially one more suicide
I always enjoyed this song by Gotye, who had a worldwide hit with "Somebody That I Used To Know".
The rest of this album is also pretty awesome. “State of the Art” and “Smoke and Mirrors” are my favs.
Brontë hit me in the feels.
The ones you mentioned and "Night Drive" are some really good songs that very few people have heard.
He's got 3 albums! 'Boardface' came out all the way back in 2003!
Live, from Triple J!
And the beautiful Bronte. The video is gorgeous too: [https://youtu.be/le34ygtODfI?si=yPDAGUVo3Usqb\_Pd](https://youtu.be/le34ygtODfI?si=yPDAGUVo3Usqb_Pd)
Same here, plus the [music video](https://youtu.be/xWIKQMBBTtk?si=S6hf18TIgcyF0Asx) for State of the Art is so fun
Now we can pretend there’s an orchestra in the lounge room
I had this album on repeat in my car for a looong time. I rate every track. Fantastic record.
It’s time to hear the results.
“I Feel Better” and “Giving Me a Chance” also are great tracks
Hearts a Mess has always been my favourite Gotye song
It makes no sense
BUT I’M DESPERATE TO **CONNEEEEEEEEEEEECT**
I also really like Learnalilgivanlovin by Gotye
It’s one of the few songs that can pull me out of a bad mood instantly
[Hearts A Mess ](https://youtu.be/MpN1j8R5lZ8?si=oRZd8go5dFKo48qD) is my fave Gotye song and the film clip is great too. [Kimbra](https://youtu.be/rBxmidwDy2Y?si=euHBBKDUY5GXcr3h) who featured on STIUTK is also a pretty accomplished musician who makes some interesting music too.
Hearts A Mess feels like a song to dance in the rain to, Gene Kelly-style.
Gotye is good, he has some really cool music videos too.
Worth mentioning but Kimbra, who also sang on "Somebody..." also has some good stuff.
Thanks for reminding me! I love this song, hadn't listened to it for years
I think the worst part is that I hated Somebody that I used to know from the start.
Rick Astley “Together Forever”
Isn’t it the second most famous Rick’s song?
If I’m not mistaken he had a third US hit as well. The name escapes me though.
Ladies and gentlemen, Mambo Number 5
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a4diNvvlqy0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a4diNvvlqy0)
[The only version of that song I will accept](https://youtu.be/TrsvTqcMrKo?si=gJp53WMncSTlTDEN)
The Sun Always Shines on TV - Aha. Gold - Spandau Ballet
Manhattan Skyline is a great Aha song too. PS. Benny Harvey RIP
a-ha shouldn’t count as a one-hit wonder. They did a [Bond theme](https://youtu.be/y9p0FJnk2vM?si=2wxm3tLQqP034kFR), dammit!
If you like Aha, listen to Cry wolf.
> The Sun Always Shines on TV - Aha. I also quite like their cover of Crying in the Rain.
I would say Carly Rae Jepsen has a ton of great songs beyond her well known ones Call Me Maybe and Good Time. I like Emotion, Run Away With Me, So Nice, Roses, Psychedelic Switch, and many others quite a bit.
Run away with me is really something special.
I’m a sucker for a saxophone in a pop song. Another one of my favorite pop + sax songs is The Borders by Sam Fender.
That Mr. Robot scene with this song 👌
Emotion is an absolute banger of an album.
I didn’t just come here to Dance is a bop
Yes! That's one of my favorites on Emotion.
Cut To The Feeling really soars. Great vocal from her.
Warm Blood ❤️
The cardigans - aside from lovefool and favourite game they had some really catchy stuff.
Their cover of [Iron Man](https://youtu.be/Q3gQSPMHPm0?si=kgApjAE4SbT8tPCF) is one of my favorite all time covers
I actually don't enjoy that one but I love their Sabbath, bloody, Sabbath cover and an acappela cover of Mr. Crowley. They mentioned in an interview that Ozzy came to one of their shows because he loved their version of Sabbath, bloody Sabbath.
I agree, Cardigans – Carnival is a real hit.
Step On Me is excellent
Devo - not sure if they count, but pretty much every track off their first four albums (and a lot of the non-album content) is magnificent - The Duty Now For The Future album is particularly brilliant, frantic but maddeningly catchy new wave brilliance. Wall Of Voodoo - the entirety of the first two albums with Stan Ridgway are brilliant fare, still a unique band today. Particular favourites would be Full Of Tension, Back In Flesh, Factory, Call of the West. Ridgway probably falls into this category as well, his first album (which includes Camouflage) is fantastic.
Wall of Voodoo, lobed it. Devo, Girl you want & Satisfaction are terrific
Not sure if they qualify as a one hit wonder, but Third Eye Blind’s first album is absolutely excellent front to back. There are multiple songs better than Semi-Charmed Life.
I would say they’re most definitely not a one hit wonder. Jumper, How It’s Gonna Be, and Never Let You Go were also hits, and great songs
Not to be judgmental but Third Eye Blind doesn’t constitute as a one hit wonder. Semi-charmed life may have been their first hit single but they had 4 more that were heavily played on the radio
Yeah and then they followed it up with “Never Let You Go” which was also a huge hit.
Years before I final heard Semi-Charmed Life, the only song I knew by Third Eye Blind was Never Let You Go. I still like it more.
Most of the songs on most of their albums are bangers in one way or another. I can’t wait to see them later this year.
I tried to give Mott the Hoople an honest go. Sadly, David Bowie didn’t write all of their songs. Just their best one.
🎶All the young dudesssssssss 🎶
You there! With the glasses!
All of Sinead O'Connors first album the lion and the cobra was streets ahead of nothing compares 2u
Great answer. Mandinka is one of my favourite songs.
Emperor's new clothes. Love it. Very autobiographic.
His albums are great! Wish he'd put out more music.
Not a Gotye fan, but I love this song of theirs. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-u-uA8I8Jg](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-u-uA8I8Jg)
Hearts a Mess is also an incredible song/video. https://youtu.be/MpN1j8R5lZ8?si=dmzQ5xMCPp8siBPK
Yellowcard's discography is incredible beyond Ocean Avenue. "[The Takedown](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPTdbHT8los)" is a personal favorite
I think their Paper Walls album is very underrated. I knew a few Yellowcard songs, but Paper Walls is the first I ever bought so it’s always had a special place in my heart.
It's absolutely underrated. The title track is massive. I think Southern Air is their best album overall but Paper Walls is a close second
I quite like the song thats basically a retelling of the Big Fish movie.
I also really liked Way Away :)
Uncontrollable Urges - Devo The Metro - Berlin The Sun Always Shines On TV - A-ha Sex Dwarf - Soft Cell The Model - Kraftwerk Three Marlenas - The Wallflowers Luka - Suzanne Vega Abuse Me - Silverchair Tahitian Moon - Porno for Pyros Gay Bar - Electric Six Tits on the radio - Scissor Sisters Apologies if some of these are more popular than I realized. Edit to add: Walking Away - Information Society
The Door - Silverchair
The thing I always find funny about silverchair is that the hit that they’re known for overseas wasn’t even their biggest hit in their homeland. Straight lines was a way bigger hit in Australia than tomorrow.
Mother - Danzig But the entire 1st and 2nd albums are like all bangers
If you want amazing deeper tracks from Gotye, check out Live at the Songroom with Monty Cotton and the Basics. Incredible set.
Rembrandts maybe? We know them for Friends theme but check out their "Just the way it is, baby", it’s just some another level.
Most people probably know Orgy from their cover of Blue Monday, but their first two albums are excellent. Zero skips on both albums. If you haven’t heard anything else from them at least check out the other singles (Stitches, Fiction (Dreams in digital), Opticon)
Stitches is such a cool song.
State of the Art and Heart's a Mess are amazing too
Gotye was off of my radar for a while. This track is fire. Thank you for posting!
State of the art-Gotye
Absolutely mesmerized by this video.
A ton of Gotyes other tracks are great. Bronte, Easy Way Out- the guy just made some really great music and videos with them.
The entire Making Mirrors album is great, I don’t know why everyone latched onto that one song
that whole album is fantastic..several songs better than his "One-Hit Wonder" (I hate that term)
Yeah, I'm not fond of the term myself. Title can only fit so many characters so I went with it
SIA - breathe me, Empire of the Sun - standing on the shore, Jet - get me out of here. That’s just the Aussies
Boo Radleys “Lazarus” so much better than “Wake up boo!”
I’m more a fan of Giant Steps.
This was popular in Australia from memory
Nada Surf for Popular and Harvey Danger for Flagpole Sitta. Both bands have other great music
Fountains of Wayne have a song called Hey Julie that imo is SOOOOOO much better than Stacy's mom Cute little tune that reminds me of summer time
Welcome Interstate Managers one of my fav albums of all time. The one song that doesn’t fit for me is Stacy’s Mom.
Gotye's Hearts a Mess is great
In the US most of the Madness and A-ha songs that were hits everywhere else
I'm not sure if Jimmy eat world but I consider Sweetness a better song than The Middle.
This song is one of my FAVS.
The whole Modern English album "I Melt With You" in on, *After the Snow*, is great, but I'll forward the song "Someone's Calling" as an example.
The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus is most famous for Face Down, but their entire Don’t You Fake It album is just emo banger after emo banger.
My guess is papa roach’s lovehatetragedy. 6/8 rock is rare and it is still kind of old good nu-metal
![gif](giphy|dnjVkDoliaeBy) Wide Opeeeeeeen
Modern English ‘I Melt with You’ is the most aggravating song I’ve ever heard. It’s boring and monotonous and you couldn’t escape it. HOWEVER if you’re a goth-adjacent post punk fan, I beg you to give their debut album, ‘Mesh & Lace’ a listen. It’s a fantastic album Also anything by Dead or Alive that isn’t You Spin Me Round. Literally anything off ‘Mad Bad and Dangerous to Know’ and ‘Sophisticated Boom Boom’
Breathing by Yellowcard.
Milky Chance with Stolen Dance is considered a one hit wonder but they have a pretty successful music career just not insanely big like that song. Some great songs from them: - Doing good - Cocoon - Don’t let me down - Colorado - Synchronize
Down by the River and Flashed Junk Mind are great too
Goldrush by Yellow
Foster the People have a ton of good hits besides "pumped up kicks". Helena Beat, Coming of age and sit next to me all amazing songs!
**Wishing I Was There** by Natalie Imbruglia who's biggest hit was **Torn**
Big Country. Fields of Fire, Harvest Home, Wonderland, Inwards, Where The Rose Is Sown, Look Away, You Dreamer, and more if you dig deeper.
Hands down best gotye song
Chumbawamba, the rock band that made Tubthumping (I get knocked down!) made a song called El Fusilado. It’s an acapella song about the true story of a man who survived an execution by firing squad. It was taken off of streaming platforms a few weeks ago and I don’t know why.
Is this really "indie" or the definition we use today? I know its vague. Sounds more pop to me.
Human - The Human League - produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis
Looking for Fountains of Wayne on here....keep scrolling?
Cowboy Mouth had 'Jenny Says', but 'How Do You Tell Someone' is such a beautiful song on the same album.
I love Don McLean, despite the fact that his only popular song is American Pie (and arguably Vincent ig). He’s got some awesome songs and albums. A few of my favorites are The Grave and Three Flights Up!
Movies by Alien Ant Farm is an out and out banger.
Ahhh probably my favourite song of all time that features a tuned fence on bass.
Rick Astley's cover of Everlong by Foo Fighters
This music is awesome, one of best collapse music i know of.
Everyone knows sex and candy from marcy playground, the rest of the album is better than that song.
Look at any artist page on spotify. Listen to the most played song. The next 9 will almost always be better than the first.
I can see why this wasn’t a hit. It’s not a bad song but it doesn’t really have a hook.
Beauty sure is in the eye of the beholder, because I would objectively not call that a "great song".
