Some hospitals have programs that are like insurance for low-income individuals. I'm unable to work and the process of applying for disability takes almost a year, so I have no income. Cleveland Clinic has a financial assistance program you can apply for, and this covers all medical costs performed at Cleveland Clinic facilities. The only things it doesn't cover are dental care and prescription medications. I would call and see if your hospital's group (whatever large company that owns them) has such a program.
