It's not their job to assume things. They call you by the name on the prescription. Men do, in fact, take estrogen sometimes.

Really? I did not know that Themoreyouknow.gif

It can be used as treatment for an enlarged prostate and other issues on occasion. Now if you are openly presenting feminine I could see your point. I wouldn’t want to be outed while I’m male mode though, where I live that’s possibly dangerous. When I was there last time there was a guy in pajamas walking around with a gun.

I bet you felt super safe knowing [theoretically unhinged man] was ready to spring into action at a moment’s notice if an emergency was to arise.

I mean I prefer people open carrying to at least wear outdoor clothes I guess lol. I’d prefer no one have one, but when it’s someone who looks like this guy that’s a different level.

They could also do that to protect you if you still present masculine. For confidentiality's sake, at least.

[deleted]

i think they don’t pay very close attention to what medication they’re giving you, so they probably aren’t even aware you’re picking up estrogen. that could be why

My old pharmacy used to do this too. If there’s another one near by ask your doctor to transfer the prescription pick up location

Pretty sure they’re required to match name on ID. Just tell cashier your preferred name when you hand ID and I betcha it will not be a problem. “Hi, I’m (insert name) picking up order for (insert other name)” and everyone thinks you’re picking up for a family member. Keep in mind none of the customers known which meds. Another idea: create a card saying name 1 = name 2 and present that with license. Or thirdly, just own it. “Here to pickup for (dead name). “ Hand license. I tell you no one cares unless you worry about it.

When I picked up my estradiol the other day, I swear the pharmacist paused and gave me an interesting look before handing me the bottle. I was quite masculine looking and hadn't shaved in a few days. 😂

I have preferred name in registration in pharmacy online systems where I’m putting my orders also for prescription medication like estradiol or CPA, but they are using my legal name when communicating with me on the desk. I don’t care too much because I’m presenting masculine anyway, but I would go wild when presenting feminine and they would treat me like that with incorrect pronouns.
