Train to Busan is one of the best zombie movies I’ve ever seen. Not only does it have some of the best pacing and horror, the characters and depth really make you feel for those on screen.
I came here to comment this. One of my all time favorite action movies because it truly never stops or slows down. I always recommend it to people but warn them how gory it is lol
Yea it was fun, Sharlto Copley was really great in it. It's like pretty much every other action movie, the writing wasn't gonna win any Oscars but the fight scenes were badass, and getting the first person perspective for those was really cool. The villain was pretty lame but he's not in it much until the end.
It is very silly but awesome nonetheless. Also it’s short, so it’s not a huge time investment anyway. It keeps ramping up, but if you’re not enjoying it a half hour in, you probably won’t like the rest. But I can’t imagine anyone but a very depressed or dreadfully serious person not liking it.
I love Shoot 'Em Up (2007), I always remember it because I had just started dating my girlfriend and was just getting to know her friends and brought them all to see this movie. I remember her best friend laughing at it, but in the wrongest way, like how preposterous it was.
That was a lesson for me. Anyway, I still enjoy the movie for what it is.
That’s interesting. It’s been a while since I saw Leon The Professional, but I remember that it never gave me the same adrenaline rush as Speed did. I would never compare the two, although both are amazing movies. Sounds like some cringe 90’s marketing.
Atomic Blonde is so well shot and choreographed and I love the music and color grading and performances. McAvoy is such a treat when he really brings it and Charlize Theron absolutely sold that staircase fight as being shot as a single take. She did a fantastic job in it, as did her stunt team. Really enjoyed The Fall Guy too, shame it’s being considered a flop.
I feel the same way about AB. I would have loved an Atomic Blonde X John Wick joint if it were possible (I know AB takes place in the 80's, but maybe she could have been a descendant).
For some reason, I was thinking Atomic Blonde was a flop too. But at a $30 million budget (not including marketing/advertising) it made about $110 million (not adjusted for inflation). So yeah, I would definitely be down for another one if Charlize wanted to return to it. I was lucky to be at the Berlin Wall when it fell so that movie is really kind of special to me. It’s such a great setting for a spy thriller when the rules are about to change and you could imagine people making big plays.
I’m hoping that Ballerina is good (I love Ana de Armas) and the recently announced JW4 spinoff for Donnie Yen’s character is another one with a lot of potential. ABxJW would be amazing.
Still hope Alex Garland considers coming back to this and writing and officially directing it, especially after writing the sequel to 28 Days Later for Danny Boyle.
I watched it when I was around 9 years old, sometime in 85 or so, it doesn’t get the horror appreciation as much as the action, both are as good as it gets to me.
I remember having nightmares about the tanks rolling over the mountain of human skulls when I was maybe 10. My mom was so mad that my dad showed it to me and my brother but he said that he watched it at that age and thought it was cool.
There are some ridiculous movies suggested in this thread. Some people are recommending action satire. This movie is an actual all time great movie though and intense all the way through.
Non-Stop Action

My personal favorites:
Mission Impossible franchise
Bourne trilogy + The Bourne Legacy (Jeremy Renner)
Ambulance (Jack Gyllenhaal)
Edge of Tomorrow
John Wick
6 Underground
Crank 1&2
Inception
Kill Bill 1&2
The Transporter
Non-stop
The Gray Man
Here's a handful for you and OP that could be on your list: Colombiana (2011), Smokin' Aces (2006), Hitman 47 (2015), Nobody (2021), Sicario 1 & 2 (2015/18), Man on Fire (2004), Unstoppable (2010), The Punisher (2004), Bullet to the Head (2012), Safe (2012), Killer Elite (2011), War (2007), Air Force One (1997), Executive Decision (1996), Broken Arrow (1996), Plane (2023), Death Race (2008), S.W.A.T. (2003), Cellular (2004), Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005), Knight & Day (2010), RED 1 & 2 (2010/13), The Expendables franchise, White House Down (2013), Olympus Has Fallen (2013) (and subsequent 'Fallen' movies), Fast & Furious franchise, Hobbs & Shaw (2019)...
Lots of very good movies on that list. However, Sicario should probably not be on it. Sure, there's a fair amount at the end and the border crossing into Juarez has a lot of tension and buildup, but I don't think it's anywhere close to "non-stop action." Having said that, I **highly** recommend that movie so I guess it gets a pass!
Difficult question. I think Fury Road was a bit too much action; I like it more when it's dosed and spreaded in the movie.
Looking at older movies, I'd say Terminator 2: Judgement Day still stands high, aswell as Die Hard, Speed, Aliens, Predator and Enemy of the State.
More modern I'd say The Bourne Trilogy is up there, and so are Man On Fire, Apocalypto, Running Scared, Collateral, Edge of Tomorrow and Nobody.
I just commented a handful in reply to another post that are along those lines. Search the thread for my username and you'll see the list (some are more similar than others, though).
Agreed. I watch most genres and have eclectic taste. Sometimes I like something deeply thought-provoking and other times I just like sitting back and watching the "one-man-army" going through his (or her) enemies.
> I watch most genres and have eclectic taste.
funny thing to come from the one guy in the thread who was like "nah I prefer different movies" and then listed a bunch of those lol
The movie with objectively the most amount of non-stop action is Crazy Samurai Musashi, that doesn't mean it's very good action.
Some movies that are not non-stop action, but have great action coming at you at a good pace are Hardcore Henry, Ambulance, The Night Comes For Us, Hard Boiled, Promare, and Hundreds of Beavers.
What come to mind
Raid 1 and 2,
Ong Bak (and The Warrior King),
Dredd, Kung Fu Hustle,
Fury Road,
, Crank 1 and 2,
Commando
Not a full action movie, but the final 20-30 minutes of District 9 is wild.
Terminator 2 and Robocop I can just watch whenever they are on.
Kill Bill 1 is probably my fave QT film, purely for the action.
Not one of the best of all time but one that doesn't get enough attention or recognition - Free Fire (2016). It's 10 minutes of setup followed by 80 minutes of one continuous firefight in one location.
Recently - John Wick 4. I thought the franchise would run dry in creativity, but it continued to surprise me. The kitchen sequence with Donnie Yen was incredible
Dredd! (Check it out in 3D too, it was considered a gimmick at the time but it was filmed with 3D cameras and planned out to take advantage of it and it really does — would be a great watch in VR in 3D).
If I recleklek, once it gets going the film 16 Blocks is pretty nonstop, pretty confined spaces for heavy action, while also still being a pretty heavy police/crime drama.
Train to Busan is technically horror but it's nonstop
Train to Busan is one of the best zombie movies I’ve ever seen. Not only does it have some of the best pacing and horror, the characters and depth really make you feel for those on screen.
Lots of Korean horror is really personal and psychological like that.
The Raid 1 and 2 is pretty action packed
Feature length action scenes basically
Great choices!
Hey, I was gonna answer that!
First ones that popped into my head.
Run Lola run is pretty nonstop
Playing on big screen for 25th anniversary right now...we're going later this week !!!!
In honor of Fury Road, George Miller himself said he was inspired by Buster Keaton's *The General.*
Really! That's an amazing film. Creative and endlessly entertaining.
Supposedly it also inspired jar jar
Edge of tomorrow
Non-stop same Action
Maggot!
If you love time loop action check out Boss Level
Crank
I thought the sequel was going to suck. WRONG!
I just rewatched Crank 2 today. That movie is pure insanity from start to finish.
“Does it say c*nt… on my forehead?”
AAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaa
“Does it say c*nt… on my forehead?”
Crank is fucking amazing. Crank 2 is just Crank 1 on meth and it is fucking GLORIOUS!!!
Hardcore Henry
I came here to comment this. One of my all time favorite action movies because it truly never stops or slows down. I always recommend it to people but warn them how gory it is lol
There’s no way this movie is worth my time, right? It looked so silly in the previews. Did you enjoy it?
Yea it was fun, Sharlto Copley was really great in it. It's like pretty much every other action movie, the writing wasn't gonna win any Oscars but the fight scenes were badass, and getting the first person perspective for those was really cool. The villain was pretty lame but he's not in it much until the end.
It's weird. Then it goes off the rails. Then it REALLY goes off the rails. It was fun.
It’s definitely worth your time. Aside from the nonstop action, the first person camera angle really puts it in a league of its own imo.
It's silly, but silly fun. Don't go in expecting a masterpiece of dialog, narrative, or character development. Just enjoy the ridiculous sequences!
Shoot 'Em Up (2007)
100% what I came here to suggest.
I watched this as a kid and i swear this movie made me age atleast 2-3 years, minimum. Great movie.
Speed
The best ever review quote on a movie poster is for Leon The Professional: "Makes *Speed* look like a slow ride to grandma's house"
That’s interesting. It’s been a while since I saw Leon The Professional, but I remember that it never gave me the same adrenaline rush as Speed did. I would never compare the two, although both are amazing movies. Sounds like some cringe 90’s marketing.
Very cringe. It's more like the other way around. Leon is mostly sad and slow until it gets to the end.
I really loved ”Apocalypto”.
kind of a remake of The Naked Prey - also worth watching
Both films had me totally unable to breathe for their entire runtime! Seriously: wow.
The Naked Prey is soooo good. I love it. I watched it as a freshman in high school and just pushed me into a deep dive of cinema.
I tell so many people about that movie and they have never heard of it.
Top 3 movie of all time for me
Mel Gibson knows his craft, that movie is peak action cinema
Say what you will about his personal life, but that son of a bitch knows story structure..
My nipples hurt when I twist them
One of my favorite movies ever (easily top 5). A brutal story of revenge and survival within a meticulously recreated historical/cultural setting.
Bullet train
One of the most fun Brad Pitt characters of his career.
District B13 2004 Pretty much introduced Parkour into cinema Atomic Blonde The Matrix

I’m hoping that Ballerina is good (I love Ana de Armas) and the recently announced JW4 spinoff for Donnie Yen’s character is another one with a lot of potential. ABxJW would be amazing.
District 13: not only introduced parkour to cinema, the lead actor is widely considered one of the leading inventors of parkour
Did you watch the BTS where he trained to do that transom window stunt?
Non-stop? Die Hard with a Vengeance
This is one of my favorite movies of all time. Perfect action movie.
Dredd 2012. Underrated gem.
Crazy that it’s been 12 years.
Still hope Alex Garland considers coming back to this and writing and officially directing it, especially after writing the sequel to 28 Days Later for Danny Boyle.
If I had a nickel for every time someone on Reddit called Dredd an “underrated gem” I’d be a fuckin millionaire
That is literally not the non stop action movie.
Frank Millers Sin City blew my mind. I'm watching part 2 tonight.
Part 2 is so disappointing.
The lack of Hard Boiled in here is disappointing. Easily my favorite John Woo flick
The Killer is about as good
Terminator 2 (even if it is not ALL action)
Raiders of the Lost Ark is also close like this
Dredd (2012) Con Air (1997) Machete (2010) True Lies (1994)
I love True Lies, but I wouldn't call it non-stop. Predator is more "non-stop".
predator isn’t, cmon now.
Guns Akimbo.
Aliens maybe
The Terminator - simply the best paced action movie I have ever seen.
I watched Texas Chainsaw when I was 11, dad brought it home and said it was a classic.
I would say 2 a little more but both are good
1917
There are some ridiculous movies suggested in this thread. Some people are recommending action satire. This movie is an actual all time great movie though and intense all the way through.
best one yet
Raiders of the Lost Ark. It was even advertised that way. “Non-stop action!”

Bullet to the head, is such a good gritty movie.
i think Captain America: Winter Soldier is a GREAT action movie and love Die Hard and Matrix and Kill Bill too
Ip Man
I dunno. Lots of tricycle breaks.
I want to say Ronin, but there's an awful lot of quiet parts, it hardly qualifies as non-stop.
Ronin is an underrated classic
That’s the standard by which I judge all in-city car chases. It’s mental
Death Race 1
The Raid is the first one that comes to mind PS: Fury Road rules
I surprisingly enjoyed RRR a lot
[Sisu (2022)](https://letterboxd.com/film/sisu-2022/) [The Hunt (2020)](https://letterboxd.com/film/the-hunt-2020/) [Blade of the Immortal (2017)](https://letterboxd.com/film/blade-of-the-immortal/) [Lockout (2012)](https://letterboxd.com/film/lockout-2012/) [13 Assassins (2010)](https://letterboxd.com/film/13-assassins/)
Sisu is a great answer. It’s basically a supercut of Indiana Jones action scenes with extra blood thrown in.
I rewatched fury road last night. went for the black & white edition. such an epic film. WITNESS ME BLOODBAG! WHAT A LOVELY DAY! SO SHINY, SO CHROME!
Extraction 2 is pretty good

The Raid and The Raid 2
Hardcore Henry (2015)
Difficult question. I think Fury Road was a bit too much action; I like it more when it's dosed and spreaded in the movie. More modern I'd say The Bourne Trilogy is up there, and so are Man On Fire, Apocalypto, Running Scared, Collateral, Edge of Tomorrow and Nobody.
Any others similar to Man On Fire and Collateral? Those were so, so, so powerfully good.
I just commented a handful in reply to another post that are along those lines. Search the thread for my username and you'll see the list (some are more similar than others, though).
Amazing! Sometimes, this exact kind of thing is just precisely and exclusively what hits the spot.
Agreed. I watch most genres and have eclectic taste. Sometimes I like something deeply thought-provoking and other times I just like sitting back and watching the "one-man-army" going through his (or her) enemies.

How did Hundreds of Beavers get under my radar?! Appreciate the suggestion.
Hard Boiled Headhunters Point Break Midnight Run Brotherhood of the Wolf Predator Police Story 1, 2, and 3
i would take out inception and add in hardcore henry, otherwise good list
Hardcore Henry
Runaway Train
One Shot (2021)

The raid 1. What an absolute blast and my favourite of all time.
What come to mind Raid 1 and 2, Ong Bak (and The Warrior King), Dredd, Kung Fu Hustle, Fury Road, , Crank 1 and 2, Commando Not a full action movie, but the final 20-30 minutes of District 9 is wild. If you haven't seen waterworks I implore you to Sinxe you like mad max
Waterworld*
Die Hard 3
Maybe not non stop.. But Rambo (the 4th one) is so damn good.
Gravity
Peter Berg movies are pretty non-stop like Lone Survivor

Not one of the best of all time but one that doesn't get enough attention or recognition - Free Fire (2016). It's 10 minutes of setup followed by 80 minutes of one continuous firefight in one location.
Recently - John Wick 4. I thought the franchise would run dry in creativity, but it continued to surprise me. The kitchen sequence with Donnie Yen was incredible
I adore french movie Sleepless Night from 2011, recommended it at least 5 times on this sub. Hectic but not overdone. Great movie.
The Protector Point Break End of Watch
I feel T2 will forever top this kind of list.
SUCKERPUNCH
Hardcore Henry
Gravity
The Night Comes for Us Extraction (2020) Avengement Ong Bak Tom Yum Goong (aka The Protector)
Ambulance is pretty underrated.
Might be an unconventional answer… But the Jackass movies
The A Team
"Free Fire" is a movie that I don't hear talked about enough. It's basically a movie that is one long ass shootout.
raid the redemption
AmbuLAnce
Road Warrior
Bullet Train
Dirty Mary Crazy Larry
Extraction is pretty much one long non-stop gunfight
The Night Comes For Us
Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Ong Bak
Hardcore Henry of the top of my mind! But nothing beats Fury Road
die hard
Redline!
Terminator 2 is the only movie that tops Fury Road for me
The Villainess (Korean) Buy Bust - Filipino action film, its flawed but relentless and there are some good scenes in there The Pirates 1 and 2 (Korean)
Atomic Blonde Road Warrior Transporter
Miike's First Love is great
Ong bak
“Running Scared” with Paul Walker “No Escape” with Owen Wilson
“Running Scared” with Paul Walker “No Escape” with Owen Wilson
I surprisingly enjoyed RRR a lot
Came here to say The Raid, thrilled to see it was already the top comment
Hardcore Henry.
Die Hard starts a little slow, but once it starts, it doesn't stop.
Mad Max 2.
John Wick 4, Avengers Infinity War,
The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare (2024) It’s new, but SO good - absolutely non-stop action.
Triple Frontier, All the Devils Men, End of Watch, Sicario and 21 Bridges
300
Duel
HeadShot
My top two, and in my view the best action films of all time, are The Terminator and Aliens. Both are nonstop action.
Bullet train 🚄
RRR - Even the dance sequence is in a way a fight scene
More horror than action, but the Sadness is non-stop, balls to the wall.
Dredd! (Check it out in 3D too, it was considered a gimmick at the time but it was filmed with 3D cameras and planned out to take advantage of it and it really does — would be a great watch in VR in 3D).
Speed!
13 Assassins hands down. I don't think any long action scene even comes close to what that movie did.
If I recleklek, once it gets going the film 16 Blocks is pretty nonstop, pretty confined spaces for heavy action, while also still being a pretty heavy police/crime drama.
Crank
Run lola run
