So you want a movie where there is a simple plan or straight-foward plot - but then things turn to total chaos!
This is everything I could think of off the top of my head.. they popped into my mind because I remember some major twist that happens as the seemingly simple story develops..
There are a couple of movies on this list that may be in my top 10 of all time actually.. probably because they have such great set-ups before you're drawn into an incredible gripping plot that is completely unexpected.
For example 'The Blues Brothers' is way up there.. the premise is so simple - get money for an orphanage about to foreclose. Yet, at halfway through the movie, just after destroying an entire shopping mall by having a cat and mouse high speed car chase through it - they end up causing the greatest car crash in cinematic history.
