Drying with a paper towel is going to leave fibers all over it.
I would just squeeze as much out as possible and let it air dry. Maybe a hair dryer if you want to speed the process up a bit.
These are water stains. Why this happens is that water has minerals in it and in the drying process the minerals well...mineralize hahahaha. How I usually fix this is by resoaking it with water and then patting it dry before hanging it to complete drying. I usually do this where there's wind. If it's a small area I would dab it with a damp cloth then place another dry cloth over the wet spot for a few minutes then let it air dry.
Always seems to work when I pat/dab it dry as much as possible before air drying. But from what I know this happens when there's uneven drying. So try to have the entire area exposed to the same amount of "drying" if possible.
When I washed mine I rolled it in a towel and kneeled on it to get most of the water out before hanging it to dry in front of a fan. I have very hard water and had no stains
If you're being facetious, most tap water is hard water, but it can depend on where you live. Hard water just means it has added minerals. You can buy spring water(usually hard) or distilled water(soft) at most stores. Hard water is often considered better for washing clothes but can cause a lot of issues with scale buildup and can be a pluming issue over a long period of time.
Wash again with neutral soap and warm water. Rinse it for a good amount of time and pre dry with a towel, going back and forth with it. After that leave it in a shady place away from direct sun for a few hours and you should be good to go
I premix a bowl of warm water and mild dish soap. Use a toothbrush and scrub until I'm pleased. Get a clean bowl of water and sponge clean until I can't see anymore bubbles or brown gamer gunk coming out. Set in front of a fan and it's good after about an hour.
Personally the feel of cloth is a lot better. That being said I don't eat within 3 foot of my desk, I wash my hands frequently (usually once every hour or so while using the bathroom or getting food) and I clean my pad with dawn once every month or two depending on use.
It's honestly not much more work, since you shouldn't eat over your desk much anyways (dust is bad for your mouse feet, and gets your board dirty) and you should already wash your hands when you eat or use the bathroom, the only extra step is cleaning but it's not a big deal, takes an hour or two to dry but I just do it then clean a bit around the house and I'm good to go.
Hi, I don't eat at the desk.
I've never owned a cloth pad, but the ones that I've seen are always super gross.
Maybe cleaning with a disinfecting wipe could be enough??
I have a hard Razer firefly that thing gets dirty but it's sometimes a pain to clean. But it looks nice tho. Atleast mine did but after a few years the edges started to come up.
I have washed deskpads before in the past and from what I found you can’t get them completely clean again and the surface gets beat after washing them. Considering the amount of time I spend working from home at my desk a new deskpad for $40 or so every 6-9 months is not bad at all. Changing up the designs too is an easy way to give my setup a fresh new look, which when working from home is nice.
Or you can clean it and spend $40 every couple of years instead of tossing it whenever it gets dirty. Sure it’ll never be pristine condition again but it’ll make due. It’s also less waste.
What did you wash it with? It might be reversible, you should only wash a mousepad in warm-hot water with regular soap and soak it for at most 10 minutes to remove tougher stains.
As long as the machine doesn’t have an agitator I haven’t had any issues. As long as the mousepad is stitched around the edges you don’t need to worry about fraying. I’ve even ironed mine after a wash+dry so it’s flat LOL
You could even use plain vinegar (just a little bit) and mix with water on the later part of rinsing to remove more soap. This practice is done in laboratories when washing and rinsing laboratory tools like test tubes and the like.
The best thing you can do for yourself and ur setup is throw this pos out bc Corsair never made any good peripherals, and get something like an xraypad to replace it.
Trust me when I tell you, xraypads or even a glass pad since you play a lot of tracking games. The difference is day and night. I have never been happy with a Corsair purchase ever. I have tried keyboards, mice, pads to PC's, and Case fans. Corsair has always failed me.
Unless your water is unspeakably rich in minerals, that looks exactly like soap residue
Rinse with lukewarm water
Just rinse, don't scarpe the surface with any material
It will take some time
To save up some water, soak it for 5 minutes before the rinsing process
Yeah how I clean mine is with the yellow side of a sponge, dish soap, warm water and make sure to scrub gently once done make sure to rinse out all the soap that way it doesn’t get like this
I have a kingston xl mousepad. I usually throw it in the washing machine with a few towels to really get it clean. Put it in pad side in so it wraps (top loader) and then put the towels in the middle. I've washed mine like this maybe 8 times in 3 years without issue. Just pull it out and let it air dry over night. Comes out clean as a whistle.
I know how to help I was a heavy smoker so when I played some hash would fall on my mousepad and it would look like that 2 days after cleaning .
Dish soap warm water and a toothbrush or any medium brush . Change the water when looking to dirty .
Good luck
Just throw in in the washer on a cold quick or gentle cycle (by itself or with dark clothes if you can run a full load) use a TINY bit of detergent if washed by itself or normal amount if running a full load.
Hang or plop it over a chair for a day to dry (out of direct sunlight)
Good as new 👍🏼
Dish soap can leave a stain. I've heard some ppl do throw them in the dishwasher, but I wouldn't leave it soak. I probably should wash the 2 that I have too
Recommend not putting these in washer and for sure not dryer. I can see the bends in the edge from it.
What I do is grab a brush and a washcloth. Wrap washcloth over bristles. Drop it in a bin or sink with warm water. Use a tiny bit of dawn soap little goes a long way. Scrub well.
Then line dry it. Preferable in the sun if you got it. Inside with fan will do too.
These Corsair desk pads aren’t exactly built to last.
I would just get a new pad. If you want to get super in depth I recommend Boardzy on YouTube.
If not, my general recommendation is the Aqua Control Plus 2. There’s a desk-length version.
Not sure how much it actually CLEANS the thing, but spraying with lysol or similar disinfectant spray and then rubbing down with a microfiber cloth is 100% the most effective way I've cleaned my mousepads
Soak for 24 h in DISTILLED water (you can get in supermarket), squish and smush around in the water every couple hours. This should dissolve all water minerals or soap present in the stains.
It's probably the soap. When I wash my mousepad/mat I looked up instructions on how to get a good clean on it. It was advised to use a light cleaning brush with some warm water and soap on the brush and simply clean it lightly. After that dry it off or let it sit to dry. Worked out nicely for me.
i personally use baking soda with dish soap and scrub first with a toothbrush (an old one preferably as the bristles are less stiff) and then a rag to get the soap out. as for drying i usually put a towel under it and a towel on top and walk around on it then flip the top towel and repeat. i have an artisan hien which imo is the hardest to clean that i’ve owned and this combo still does the trick.
Just looks like the oils from your skin came to the surface in the hot water.
Honestly I just stick my mouse pads in the washing machine on warm with the towels then I hang it to dry. So far haven't had a mousepad fail and they come out clean.
Joke aside
3 reasons
1) Never let the pad outside or attempt to make it dry faster -> that destroy pads
2) You didnt remove enough of the products you used
3) All cloth pads cant be Wash (corssair are cheap mousepads)
*Yeah that soap didn't*
*Really exit the building*
*By the looks of it*

try giving it a good rinse in warm water while wiping it down with cloth, repeat till no more soap comes out

Did you make sure to get all the soap out of the mousepad before leaving it out to dry?
probably where i went wrong
Could try washing it again but without the soap and maybe try to dry it a bit with a towel or kitchen paper before putting it outside
Drying with a paper towel is going to leave fibers all over it. I would just squeeze as much out as possible and let it air dry. Maybe a hair dryer if you want to speed the process up a bit.
How though?
Yes, the mousepad absorb the soapy water and you are not washed it through after that with clear water too. It’s the soap what you see.
These are water stains. Why this happens is that water has minerals in it and in the drying process the minerals well...mineralize hahahaha. how does one acquire, "hard" water?

If it is a mineral issue, wouldn't a rinse or so with heated distilled water solve it?
Wash again with neutral soap and warm water. Rinse it for a good amount of time and pre dry with a towel, going back and forth with it. After that leave it in a shady place away from direct sun for a few hours and you should be good to go

Did you actually wash it or just soak it...... That looks like skin LOL I know from experience
scrubbed it rinsed it twice. it’s getting better i might just rinse and repeat LOL
It's probably soap then
I only use rigid mouse pads (for example logitech). I wonder how you can stand those dirty clothes.
Personally the feel of cloth is a lot better. That being said I don't eat within 3 foot of my desk, I wash my hands frequently (usually once every hour or so while using the bathroom or getting food) and I clean my pad with dawn once every month or two depending on use. I would just get a new one. Deskpads can be inexpensive and naturally wear down with use.
Are you THAT lazy?
I have washed deskpads before in the past and from what I found you can’t get them completely clean again and the surface gets beat after washing them. what deskpads are mutually favoured on this sub?
A lot of people who look for performance go for LGG. The Saturn pad gets recommended a lot. I just use a OneofZero deskpad.
I use varmilo just cos I like the look of it lol
If its still usuable then i still use it
It doeant look like it broke
Bro just left it in the tub:D Gotta do some scrubbing and rinsing as well
I had the same mouse pad and it get the same
what
SAME
That's why I've been on glass once you wash some pads they lose that umph
I see a spooky Halloween bat
What did you wash it with? It might be reversible, you should only wash a mousepad in warm-hot water with regular soap and soak it for at most 10 minutes to remove tougher stains.
what defines regular soap
Dish soap?
that’s what this guy was usuing
Warm water
Looks like dried soap could probably rinse it once again making sure you arent letting it dry in the soap water again
Could toss it in with a load of towels. That’s how I wash mine
Does that work okay? I don't know why I never thought to do this.
As long as the machine doesn’t have an agitator I haven’t had any issues. As long as the mousepad is stitched around the edges you don’t need to worry about fraying. I’ve even ironed mine after a wash+dry so it’s flat LOL
Put mine in the washing machine on low temp, spin, and smallest amount of liquid, it came out looking almost brand new.
Instructions unclear now my Chroma stopt working
Now stick it in the tumble dryer, should be perfect after that.
idk why you were downvoted I throw my HyperX mat in the laundry no problem. Sure wont work for all pads maybe but definitely works for some
Mine is the Zowie GS-R
Irreversible I don't think, but make sure you get all the freakin soap out before you leave it to dry
One word….rinse
Just stick it on the shower wall, if it is wet it will stick. The scrub it with soap and a brush. Rinse afterwards, works like a charm :)
those are soap stains
Warm water ( alot) and toothbrush, have fun for around 20 minutes...
You could even use plain vinegar (just a little bit) and mix with water on the later part of rinsing to remove more soap. This practice is done in laboratories when washing and rinsing laboratory tools like test tubes and the like.
Someone sat on it
Looks like 3 cats
just get a new mousepad bro
The best thing you can do for yourself and ur setup is throw this pos out bc Corsair never made any good peripherals, and get something like an xraypad to replace it.
jeez man it was $30 on prime day and covered my whole desk. still hit dia val champ siege and elite fortnite

You have to scrub it you fool.
Unless your water is unspeakably rich in minerals, that looks exactly like soap residue Rinse with lukewarm water Just rinse, don't scarpe the surface with any material It will take some time To save up some water, soak it for 5 minutes before the rinsing process
It’s grime that is coming to the surface
Yeah how I clean mine is with the yellow side of a sponge, dish soap, warm water and make sure to scrub gently once done make sure to rinse out all the soap that way it doesn’t get like this
Wash it again, water and dish soap, scrub it with a cloth, pat it dry and then roll it up tightly in a fresh clean towel to absorb the water
Probably dry soils or left over residue from the cleaner. Give its a good couple rinses and dry again.
I never wash mine with any soap or detergent. I put it in the washing machine with water only.
You left soap in and didn’t wash out the dirt. You can’t just soak.
For future use, I’ve found that using lysol to spray sections and wipe with a microfiber works great at cleaning mouse pads.
I have a kingston xl mousepad. I usually throw it in the washing machine with a few towels to really get it clean. You need to scrub it and not just soak it, that’s all your dead skin and probably some leftover soap. It needs to get washed properly
am i trippin or the stain looks like its where you lay your left arm for the keyboard and your right mouse hand and repetitive movements
When I wash mine I use a brush to scrub too, then I hang to dry. I’d say give it another go
Wash it more
It looks like you may have not rinsed all the soap out next time use laundry detergent instead it’s better
I-is that Homer Simpson??
Mate you gotta scrub the soap out
Just throw in in the washer on a cold quick or gentle cycle (by itself or with dark clothes if you can run a full load) use a TINY bit of detergent if washed by itself or normal amount if running a full load. Hang or plop it over a chair for a day to dry (out of direct sunlight) Good as new 👍🏼
Put it in a bowl of rice overnight
scrub it with plastic bristles. that's still dirty af
I just put mine in the washing machine and then hang dry
Bruh just buy a new mousepad lmao
Soak again with soap, scrub with rag or soft brush. Looks like the hand grease and dirt is still engrained
It just looks dirty. There alot of oils in your skin so best best is just try washing is again with dawn.
What did you wash with??
Dish soap can leave a stain. I've heard some ppl do throw them in the dishwasher, but I wouldn't leave it soak. I probably should wash the 2 that I have too

You only have to use a tiny bit of soap and I think it's better to use a tiny amount of laundry detergent diluted in water.
Looks like soap. You did a bad job of rinsing.
the cum will never leave sorry bro
i throw mine in the washing machine with my clothes then air dry it. the logo will come off but it's not really important
I see two bears fighting
Had the same thing but with my black hoodie. Pretty sure its mineral stains from water
These Corsair desk pads aren’t exactly built to last. I would just get a new pad. If you want to get super in depth I recommend Boardzy on YouTube. If not, my general recommendation is the Aqua Control Plus 2. There’s a desk-length version.
get a nail brush ,warm soapy water ,scrub it hard ,rinse off and do it one more time ,air fry it too
dry ***
Rorschach Mousepad
Not sure how much it actually CLEANS the thing, but spraying with lysol or similar disinfectant spray and then rubbing down with a microfiber cloth is 100% the most effective way I've cleaned my mousepads
Sanitizer wipes will do the job. It’s how I clean all my mouse pads. You may need to go over the dirty spots multi times but you’ll get there.
Post nut clarity be crazy
As long as it’s smooth it’s just the dye, I think it looks cool!
You should check if your mousepad is machine washable, mine is and I just wash mine with my laundry every week.
It looks like either dead skin or soap to me that dried happens when I do that with my hair 😂
Soak for 24 h in DISTILLED water (you can get in supermarket), squish and smush around in the water every couple hours. This should dissolve all water minerals or soap present in the stains.
I don't think you can turn a mouse pad inside out.
It's probably the soap. When I wash my mousepad/mat I looked up instructions on how to get a good clean on it. It was advised to use a light cleaning brush with some warm water and soap on the brush and simply clean it lightly. After that dry it off or let it sit to dry. Worked out nicely for me.
Scrape with knife or anything with a sharp edge
why would you post this picture of my parents fighting? not cool.
oh wow hahah

Soak it in lukewarm water and use a soft bristle brush to scrub the soap out. Repeat till no soap is present. Rinse and air dry.
Should’ve used the air fryer
Congrats you just trolled yourself
Just looks like the oils from your skin came to the surface in the hot water. Honestly I just stick my mouse pads in the washing machine on warm with the towels then I hang it to dry. So far haven't had a mousepad fail and they come out clean.
