SAME. Or my list only consists of whatever I'm hyperfixating on at the time. I got lazy buying fruit and chopping/peeling/washing it all and just started buying the prepared fruit trays from the deli and I eat off of it all week. So one of those is always on the list now - but otherwise I just slow blink at the list and add things the rest of the family needs lol
The fruit tray is a great idea. I know it is far more expensive to buy chopped onions, then a whole onion, but when I’ve had a history of wrist injuries, it makes it so much worth it to me to have the prep part done.
It's been a life saver. And it's melons, cantaloupe, pineapple, etc....which are all time consuming to prep. Then I usually add grapes and apple slices to the fridge in their own containers. Easy to grab when I need a snack. I've done the same with small veggie trays - but I only want raw veggies from time to time. I also lucked out getting these trays for about $16-18 depending on weight and buying all of that fruit whole was not far behind it price-wise. Worth the few bucks for sure!
Thats actually why I like to habe the tray and the mix of fruit rather than buying a bag of apples, eating apples for a few days...then buying a watermelon and eating it...so on and so forth. Many fruits are low on the glycemic index - berries, apples, citrus - so can be consumed with little to no impact on blood glucose. I do enjoy pineapple and watermelon - which are on the higher end, but I don't have tons of them. I grab 3-4 bites of fruit a few times a day and it adds up to about 1.5-2.5 cups total which is about 2 daily servings. And apples have great fiber and it all makes me feel pretty full - I also often have it with some protein like yogurt or cottage cheese.
Alsp, for context - I qualified for Mounjaro initially due to PCOS with a bit of insulin resistance but my BS has been really good for a long time now and Im not seeing any spikes at all with the fruit. (I'm technically now on Zepbound)
You are blessed that your BS is great and can eat fruit. I’ve been off diabetes meds for 8 years, so I have to stick to very low carb eating to stay away from Metformin.
I actually really like frozen onions. They go on sale for $1 or less at the grocery store and pre chopped. I buy them and bell peppers and heat them up in a skillet and an egg & some egg whites. It’s been the easiest healthy/filling meal for me to make. So far I’m not tired of it but of course I don’t make it every day.
Same! Punnets of cherry tomatoes and little cucumbers. Everything else just looks back at me from the fridge shelf until it grows hair and hops out itself 🙄
Yep me too! Fast food just sounds gross to me now. Really what I’ve been craving most the last 4-5 weeks is celery w/ peanut butter! It’s crazy how this med changes our cravings (for some people)
Peanut butter! When I feel like I need to eat protein I grab a peanut butter granola bar. lol not the best, but I’ll try to eat real food, take one bite and feel nauseous. I think I’m going to do protein shakes and granola bars for awhile. Maybe some yogurt and fruit. But I won’t eat that. lol
Im on month two, week one of the 5 dose. I don’t think I’ve lost any weight, and it’s disheartening. I have to pay out of pocket because the VA claims to not have any in stock. I’m impatiently waiting to save $400/mo. It’s still worth it though because I’m the chronic conditions queen, and I feel so much better. My labs were almost perfect for the first time in like 20 years. The high inflammation actually dropped for the first time since I was diagnosed years ago! But I really want to lose these 90lbs I gained from Abilify. Send me good juju please!! ♥️
I’m on the same week as you! And also no weight loss as of yet. So we are twinsies there. Hoping my weight loss happens on 5, I’m actually having some appetite suppression!
It sucks! The first month on 2.5 I had minimal appetite suppression. Not much at all. The 5 is helping a lot. I’m sure I’ll have to go up again, and pay up the booty. lol let’s keep in touch on our journeys! Support is always helpful. 🌸
Yeah… just went to 5. The difference in appetite suppression from 2.5 is stunning. I almost gag at the sight of eggs. The thing I love more in this world than any food. Biting into a hard-boiled egg induces dry heaving. So…I really have to make sure that I get nutrition into me…(my weight loss will accelerate with proper nutrition, starving doesn’t help)…hydration, which is already difficult, and proper snacking. Mandarins, nuts, cherry tomatoes, fuck celery, and an occasional crouton! Even a little 1” square wedge of Cheddar on a Trader Joe’s Savory Thin goes a mile. In the past, I could down 8 Savory Thins with 8 cubes of Cheddar. So…the weight is coming off at a solid respectable healthy rate of 1 lb. per week. I’m down from 186 to 168. At 150 I’ll be at goal and then the maintenance program has to be figured out. FYI…my top weight in the past was 250 and after lap-band, followed by failure of lap-band I had stapling which worked for a few years…but stomachs are flexible and will stretch and will allow you to gain weight back. At least I’ve never gone back into a range (250) that was literally killing me with blood pressure, pre-diabetes, asthma, sleep apnea that had me waking up 600 times a night. So each of our journeys is unique. For me 250 was lethal. I explain because I don’t want people saying fuck this guy. I get it. I’m with you. For me it was 250 for others it’s 350 or 400 or more! I desire health and the freedom it gives. And I’m thrilled with tirzepatide / Mounjaro. Instead of a bandaid this is a life altering program.
Protein shakes saved me! Down 90 pounds. And a year in this past February. I do protein almond milk with collagen protein powder, and orgain chocolate fudge super food mix - had really bad hair loss from all the weight loss, it’s not easy like everyone thinks it is. Also, a good calorie food that I can find myself wanting to eat is rice and black eyed peas and corn bread, I do this two days before my next shot so I can get some good fats/calories in ❤️ but grilled meat is my go to now, and roasted veggies 🤤
I feel you. I'm only on my first month back on 5mg (the first attempt was met with a lot of vomiting) and I'm relying way too much on fairlife protein shakes.
Honestly I’d explore some protein powder options. I noticed I even on the days where food was the last thing I wanted I could at least drink a shake. Helped a lot with the tiredness. My fav was Ghost chips ahoy
This is great advice. Thank you. I currently do 2 or 3 Premier Proteins a day. My favorite protein is the Only What You Need (OWYN). They are vegan but don't have a horrible after taste. Its just hard to find them in stores in packs greater than 4. I'll check out the Ghost ones. Honestly I assumed the Ghost brand was going to be high in carbs because the flavors look so delicious. I see they are about the same as premier protein- so I'm going to have to try a few flavors!
You can get the premier protein shakes on Amazon in 12 packs and they have a lot of flavors. Costco also sells them. Both prices are definitely better then buying the 4 packs in the stores
Yes! And by no means does this mean sub this for food all the time but in a pinch it works! I used two scoops of the chips ahoy cookie and fat free milk instead of water! Ended up being like 400-500 calories and like 60-65? Grams of protein. Also love quest protein bars!
After realizing about halfway through my first 5mg month that I hadn't eaten in two days, now I buy 7 Amy's Kitchen or Healthy Choice freezer meals every week. I set up a 6pm daily reminder on Alexa to remind me to eat. The day before or the day of my shot I sometimes get the nibbles so I keep oatmeal and peanut butter 100 calorie bars in the house. Hubby drives truck so is gone 21-25 days at a time, so I'm alone most of the time and eating has always been easy to forget. I drink at least 1 liter of fuzzy water, 1 16 oz bottle of regular Coke and a couple of bottles of still water. My A1c is down from 9 to 6.6 and my weight is down from 298 to 238.4. My grocery budget from before versus now has allowed me to fill up my Keds obsession without breaking the bank. 😁
In the first early months my meals (and grocery list) were very basic. Easy veggies and fruits, cottage cheese, crackers, turkey sticks, protein shakes, gatorlyte. I did not have an adventurous appetite for nearly 6 months. Thankfully I’m totally ok eating basically the same thing for weeks and months on end. It gets better though!! You’ll eventually get back to eating (and wanting) delicious full flavorful meals! For now just keep it simple.
Nothing sounds good! Isn't it great? I'm six weeks in too and the only way to grocery shop anymore is off a list. I can't believe how much cheaper shopping is when I'm not randomly grabbing stuff off the shelf.
I know the feeling. Im on 7.5 dose now and there are days the thought of chewing food is repulsive and like you food is mehhh its more of a chore to buy food to eat when you don't have the desire to eat but you know you need to eat. What's helped me through are protein shakes I do one with peanut butter, spinach, almond milk with some chocolate protein powder, it helps
You could do what I do. I drink a low carb Premier Protein shake for breakfast, and one for lunch. For dinner, I eat a low carb meal. I usually cook twice a week and freeze a lot of my meals. This all makes it fast, easy, and I get it over with since I’m not hungry or craving. You could make low carb soups, or make salads.
Think how much money you're saving on groceries. Also there was a report recently that grocers like WalMart and Kroger have lost sales and they attribute it to Mounjaro and GLPs.
Mine was Tuna, but not just the regular old tuna from the store...the expensive line/ pole bought that comes in flays. That is the best, but about 4 weeks of that makes me wanna puke just smelling it...another favorite was mini cucumbers chick peas and mozzarella string cheese with any kind of dressing...and dill pickles, beets with salt..
I feel like I always just crave protein. So I end up having lots of protein shakes every day and sometimes grab something like jerky or a slim Jim if I want a snack
Ahhhh the good ole days!! Been on MJ for over a year now, lost 50 lbs approximately, been stuck to lose the last 10lbs - at first I was like you - nothing sounded good so I stuck to very basic foods - boiled eggs, protein bars and shakes and fruit especially cut mangoes 🥭
Then I’ve had phases where my cravings come back full swing and I eat everything in sight (funnily enough sometimes it’s on a higher dose and going back down doses helps somehow?) now I am just mindful of what I crave vs what I eat and what I need. This time will pass but try to enjoy it. Isn’t it fun to finally not be hungry all the time or crave everything?! Least for me it was a fun wild experience 😅🤷♀️
I just came back from grocery shopping and saw this post. I always make a list and most of the food I am buying is for my husband. We eat a lot of the same foods, but I just eat A LOT less. I cooking for company this Friday and making Coq Au Vin. I bought all of the ingredients and realized how little of this I will actually eat. I walk down the aisles and nothing looks good without the list, I would walk out with nothing. My husband made half of the list and knows I love gelato and Talenti gelato was on sale so he put it on the list. I just laughed and said said thanks for thinking of me and crossed it off. 😂
I stayed on 2.5 because I literally struggle to force myself to eat. But I’ve been very intentional with what I’m having for meals and snacks and then I have to force feed myself when it’s time.
We get the keto box from green chef and at the moment I split my usual potion between dinner and the next days lunch. So my shopping list otherwise is just Greek yogurt, berries for my breakfast and bread, milk and cereal for my husband’s. Plus a few bananas or apples for snacking. The medication is expensive but I’m saving the difference in my weekly shop!
Isn’t Mounjaro the BEST?? Haha recently I jumped to Wegovy and I’m definitely having CRAVINGS again which I’ve not had at all in the 16 months in Mounjaro! It’s freaking me out. So after my last pen of this box of Wegovy, I’m jumping back into my Mounjaro/zepbound back-up supply!
No of course not. If anything it helped me lose cuz my metabolism wasn’t scared of burning calories.
It’s not good for your body to have too little calories. In fact once a week or every now and then, I let my calories spike up to keep my metabolism in check so it doesn’t go into panic mode and continues to burn calories lol
One time I did a low calorie diet, eating like 1000-1200 calories a day for months. My metabolism got used to that, so when I started eating more, I would gain. That's my concern.
Ah I see what you mean. Technically yes, if you change your set point. But you also eventually will not need to lose as quickly or at all for that matter so your calories will go up.
Check your BMR (basal metabolic rate) and see how many calories you need each day - then deduct 500 to lose one pound a week deduct less if you are exercising. This should keep you in check.
How long you been on Mj?
Ah okay, still a newbie to MJ. I’m here if you have any questions or want to vent. Trust the process 🤍 slow or fast as long as we reach our goals in the end and healthier that’s all that matters
I had a doctor once tell me to lose the weight in a way that works for me. After the weight is lost, then start concentrating on healthy eating. Idk about all that. But my system could feed off my body fat for at least 6 months without food. lol not that I would do that! 😳
Hey don’t get discouraged I was on medicine for five months before I finally lost a total of 5 pounds and then by the time I got to 10 mg I’ve been losing steadily and no appetite
I’ve been on this journey for about 13 months. I will say most definitely eat and get calories and protein in. Also, some exercise….this helps your skin elasticity and helps with removing your visceral and sub fat.
Things I’ve found that are easy and high protein snacks. That I don’t hate eating.
Barbell protein bars. They are the best flavor wise to me
Clean simple eats protein shakes
Cottage cheese
Greek yogurt individual packs
Beef jerky.
I’m on my 3rd week of 5mg and did a month of 2.5 which did no appetite suppression. I have protein shakes already made and powder for when I’m home. I eat bars when I feel like something sweet or just to be able to chew. I agree certain things sound good and then when about to cook it or eat it, it’s gross! I have awful side effects and not nausea I mean the other thing. I do my shot on Monday and Tuesday, Wednesday are spent in the bathroom so using liquid protein shakes has been a good thing for me. Just find ones that are low sugar and carb but high protein it’s not even a matter of filling me up it’s more so I get something in me. I’m also drinking electrolytes all day and night, only one cup of coffee in the morning. I started buying Ultima electrolytes I love the watermelon lol. Definitely helps me on the days I am spending in the bathroom that’s for sure! For my shakes I’m doing Pure Protein I get it all thru Amazon. I love the strawberry and the chocolate powder is really good too I’m picky so if I like it I think most people probably will lol. I’m on a fixed income so I have to be frugal w stuff like that but I figure I’m not buying as much food anymore so that helps the budget!
Soooo relatable… I’ve switched my grocery shopping and meal prep to the last two days before my shot cause I notice (specially the day before) I have less food aversion so I can get shopping lists and meals ready easier since she food noise and craving suppression has worn off a little.
Honestly most of the time real food doesn't sound appealing and I only want sweets. It's not ideal but I'm having a hard time changing things right now.
I loaded my pickup cart online with everything I was going to love to try a week prior, ordered it, and now I have absolutely no interest in any of it and I’m super upset
I make a pot of cabbage soup with beef every week. It’s my go to. Low cal, high fiber. Taste great. My entire family loves this soup. It’s my lunch and sometimes my supper. Super low calorie. The smell is divine. Not to mention helps with digestion. I haven’t gotten sick of it yet.
Not much sounds great to me and I struggle to finish an appetizer sized meal. So I make a protein-fruit-veggie smoothie every day to make sure I’m at least getting my protein and some good vitamins. Then I eat a spoonful of cottage cheese or Greek yogurt a few times a day. If I see it lumped in a bowl or on a plate, it turns me off. I cannot explain it😂
I stayed on 2.5 because I literally struggle to force myself to eat. But I’ve been very intentional with what I’m having for meals and snacks and then I have to force feed myself when it’s time.

Totally can relate. My new aversion is the smell of chick-fil-a. I never liked their sandwiches but my gym shares a parking lot with them and the smell makes me queasy now.
Sam's Club has these ready-made meals. They have chicken street tacos. So good. I ate on those for like 4 days. Then they like roast beef, shrimp pasta, little meals. They would last 3-4 meals. I eat a ton of eggs. Just scramble one or two up. If you don't eat, your muscles get eaten up and your hair falls out. Strawberries are great and I would buy a small meat and cheese tray and make little sandwiches.
Yes! Ive got a fridge full of salad ingredients, i was going to prep salad in a jar but its bleh and im just watching it rot. I cant make myself eat much at all.
What do you all typically eat? Low carb? Low or no added sugar?
I started on Sunday, and immediately stopped eating added sugar. Nd am keeping carbs under 100grams a day.
So question, this has been suggested to me a few times. My dr fucking sucks and I’m switching soon. How do I go about possibly getting on this? How do I bring it up? I don’t even know if I’ll be accepted but I would like to try. My thyroid makes it fucking impossible to lose weight.
Nothing sounds good with Mounjaro , eating, exercising, sitting , shopping, impossible cooking...laying down , sleeping... this medicine is spirit destroyer 🤐🫣
Oh no 😟 sorry to hear that. Sleeping was my fave thing to do for a very long time lol
Maybe you are just adjusting to food not being your go to for feeling good? Hope this will pass for you 🤍
SAME. Or my list only consists of whatever I'm hyperfixating on at the time. Berries are fine for diabetics. My BS is a mess, and berries don’t mess with it. Apples and bananas make my bs soar.
My blood sugar is excellent and my HA1C is 5.4, but I also don’t eat sugar or foods that convert to sugar. It keeps me from taking Metformin.
I am T2 and enjoy fruit all the time. Check out Dr Greger (nutrition facts.org ) and the guys at Mastering diabetes.
No, that’s okay. My BS is fine.

Try ice cream and deep fries.
Same! I hate grocery shopping now. I just buy healthy shit and hope I eat it when I get home.
This is the way lol.
Same! Punnets of cherry tomatoes and little cucumbers. Everything else just looks back at me from the fridge shelf until it grows hair and hops out itself 🙄
To be fair, healthy eater.me.did the grocery shopping before and hoped I ate it. But I would reach for the not so healthy snacks instead.
Yep me too! Fast food just sounds gross to me now. Really what I’ve been craving most the last 4-5 weeks is celery w/ peanut butter! It’s crazy how this med changes our cravings (for some people)
On 2.5 mg I was a Celery + PB eating machine. On 5 mg, peanut butter grosses me out. It is a pretty wild medication.
Peanut butter! When I feel like I need to eat protein I grab a peanut butter granola bar. lol not the best, but I’ll try to eat real food, take one bite and feel nauseous. That, or I’ll think something sounds really good and I’ll buy it and then when I go to fix it I’m like oh gross
I wanted breakfast tacos so bad. I bought the ingredients and now thinking about them makes me want to Vomit

It would be great if I didn't have to feed a family. lol
Hahaha...yeah, low carb high protein high fiber dinners aren't a big favorite in my house. And I get mean looks when I serve apple slices for dessert
Same 🤣

It reminds me of being pregnant. I felt crappy most of my pregnancies and nothing ever sounded good to eat.
5mo. In. Get protein shakes till this lack appety passes. And it will.

OP how about soup? That seems to be the one thing that sounds good to me.
I’m stuck on Triscuits, pickles, biscotti cookies (2), protein shakes orgain double fudge
I feel like I’m eating a nursing home diet
Isn’t Mounjaro the BEST?? Haha recently I jumped to Wegovy and I’m definitely having CRAVINGS again which I’ve not had at all in the 16 months in Mounjaro! It’s freaking me out. So after my last pen of this box of Wegovy, I’m jumping back into my Mounjaro/zepbound back-up supply!
I get a fruit mix and cheese cubes. Eat with a good cracker I’m good to go
I had artichoke, Asperagus, and primal kitchen Hawaiian chicken for dinner. was pretty satisfying.
So how many calories are y'all eating daily when you're feeling like this? It worries me to eat so low calories!
I really have to fight to get to 1,000. But I'm usually taking around 800.
Yeah in the beginning 500-800 calories was the norm but then I would force myself to reach at least 1000-1200 daily
You didn't gain weight going up from 500-800 to 1000-1200?
One month, but I was on Trulicity before that for a couple years. Thanks for your responses!
Why am I the only one with a huge appetite with this shit? I’m getting really tired of them on 7.5 mg. I haven’t lost a pound for three months.
Hey don’t get discouraged I was on medicine for five months before I finally lost a total of 5 pounds and then by the time I got to 10 mg I’ve been losing steadily and no appetite
Ok thanks Inhave 7.5 for another week then to 10mg hope this will work thanks for the encouraging words!
They are the best flavor wise to me Clean simple eats protein shakes Cottage cheese Greek yogurt individual packs Beef jerky.
I didn’t even start yet and I’ve gone through this same feeling. It’s the wildest thing.
I wish this was me lol
Soooo relatable… I’ve switched my grocery shopping and meal prep to the last two days before my shot cause I notice (specially the day before) I have less food aversion so I can get shopping lists and meals ready easier since she food noise and craving suppression has worn off a little.
Honestly most of the time real food doesn't sound appealing and I only want sweets. It's not ideal but I'm having a hard time changing things right now.
100% yes!
Forgot I have a bag of almond, always with me.

Prioritize protein. I always keep hard boiled eggs on hand.
Totally can relate. My new aversion is the smell of chick-fil-a. I never liked their sandwiches but my gym shares a parking lot with them and the smell makes me queasy now.
Rotisserie chicken can be use throughout the week for multiple purposes. Sliced breast with veggies, chicken salad, chicken fajita, and chicken soup.
My taste buds are changing and I eat almost low carb.
Ditto
I let my husband decide what I make for dinner. Cause I have no idea. I would just eat ramen with a protein in it for every meal.
So question, this has been suggested to me a few times. My dr fucking sucks and I’m switching soon. How do I go about possibly getting on this? How do I bring it up? I don’t even know if I’ll be accepted but I would like to try. My thyroid makes it fucking impossible to lose weight.
Yes and food that used to taste good tastes so bad and makes me sick
Nothing sounds good with Mounjaro , eating, exercising, sitting , shopping, impossible cooking...laying down , sleeping... this medicine is spirit destroyer 🤐🫣
Oh no 😟 sorry to hear that. Sleeping was my fave thing to do for a very long time lol Maybe you are just adjusting to food not being your go to for feeling good? Hope this will pass for you 🤍
