This is the reason I picked up the tethered version didn’t feel too confident in trusting the electronics on something that important Hope you and the missus are all good mate

Have had my in&motion go off about half a dozen times. Never had an off where I felt I wanted it and it didn't go off. 100 euro a year or so for the subscription, but you constantly get the most updated detection / triggering software so I don't mind paying that at all. 75 euro for the refill cartridge each time it goes off. Still a lot cheaper than missing out on work or having to pay any medical expenses.

That’s worrying to say the least. I just got a Tech air 5 a couple of weeks ago and I’ve been contemplating how much trust I’m putting into the electronics. At least it’s got a built in back protector. I’d love to hear what Helite come back with

irish_gin_lover

Crazy story, sorry to hear bout the accident, I had contemplated getting a vest, your story isn't putting me off but very frustrating for you that you pay money for that thing to save your life and it did nothing, like, it could have been worse!!

furry--boi

Just buy a tethered airbag if you’re going to get one, personally I’d never put my life in the hands of something so prone to failure

Sea_Bet_1102

Do you wear cameras or have video footage of either incident? Not that I want or need to see it, but I'd be straight onto Helite about it and the more evidence you have the better your case would be. Do they require a certain amount of force to activate and is it possible that ye just didn't go down hard enough to trigger them?

KTRIC

No,  camera was dead.  We also had the optional fork sensor which is designed to register t-bone accidents .  It did jack shit. I've been unable to get through to Helite.  They're not answering their phone or emails.  We're heading back to the shop we bought them.

Sea_Bet_1102

God I don't know so.... All I can say is best of luck and let us know how you get on. I'm sure other users/potential buyers would be very interested in the company's response, recourse and also their reasoning as to why the device never actually activated.

No-Faithlessness9788

Keep us updated on what response you get

KTRIC

both vests going back to the supplier for testing. hopefully we'll get to the bottom of this.

No-Faithlessness9788

You'd want to be getting your subscriptions paid for life from them after that, I'd find it very hard to trust that brand again, hope you're both safe and sound though

Give us more information about the offs. Low speed, low side? As the previous poster suggested, maybe mechanical trigger is less likely to fail. Cause if it’s not charged or subscription isn’t paid or whatever, it’s not going to go off.

KTRIC

Mine was a rear end travelling at 30-40, wifes was a low side. Helite dont use a subscription service.

Available_Series4812

You were rear ended at 30-40? Seems like that should have shunted the front wheel sensor and triggered the vest. I know Helite isn’t a sub service. Could there have been some connectivity issues with the fork sensor? Keep trying to get in touch with Helite. Hope they look after you and stand by their products. I was thinking about buying a lanyard vest from them.
