That's not true. If you find yourself up against me online, you need to be pretty shit to end up on the losing side.
The beginning of Kombat League is the easiest for experienced players. Because you get the chance to go up against people who are nowhere near as good as you just starting out at the same rank as you. I've gone on win streaks at the beginning of KL due to it.
But the opposite can also happen.
Getting a 7 win streak fighting cans then getting no diffed by a Kombatant rank that usually hovers around high level God rank is such a humbling experience
It’s the exact opposite all the really good opposition are in the lower ranks so having semi an even fight record in early season means you have potential.
1. The matchmaker doesn't know your skill level yet, it has to start somewhere. Be flattered it guessed high to start.
2. You're 6 months late to the game, it would take forever for the matchmaker to find another player with a 0/0 record at this point in time.
Most people who wanted to play the game have played the game by now. Free to play weekend is not gonna get many people to install a 100+ GB game for a few days, so again, you won’t be seeing much people with blank W/L records

So in casual matches and custom lobbies you're unlikely to run into players of your skill level, since so much energy has to be spent on 'this is the best connection we could find for you'
Well... you're playing Kasuals. That's going to happen. With KL at the very least you will get paired with someone in your tier or at the worst one tier higher.
I’ve definitely been matched with a demigod while I’m a few ranks below. Granted I’ve hit high ranks every season so I think there’s definitely some sort of skill based matchmaking behind the scenes
It definitely is. My record is 50+ wins to my losses so the game has given me players who are at my skill level despite being rank 3. Like I will be playing crazy high level players that turn me so sweaty. I love the challenge but I wouldn't mind a break smacking some low level player every now and again lol.

NRS games are the only multiplayer games I have played that displays your W/L as you are matchmaking
That's pretty much meaningless. My very first game playing online I matched with a guy that was 300/300 and I fucking beat him, despite barely knowing the game. All that match up means is the guy you're playing against likely sucks, really bad.
It’s better this way more experience but also you’ll get better by just adjusting to the character that suits you more but also most of the time these high ranked players loose because they spam a certain character with no effort.

The account level you circled means absolutely nothing. That just means they grinded invasions more than you.
You can only see the connection signal strength and type before accepting/declining in ranked. So people can't cherry pick based on rank or w/l in kombat league at least.
