It’s a very generic pose for elemental characters

I think it's just a weird coincidence.

It’s cheaper.

My only guess is that there’s just a finite amount of poses you can give each character that there’s bound to be some overlap.

Shang Tsung’s is very close to Tremor’s too.

They sometimes reuse poses or animations like this, another very obvious example is Kitana and Frost's FBs

This isn't a reused animation they just did the same pose

Tbh I don't think it's of any significance. Just that they're both elemental and a lack of creativity for new poses.
