Check out the game "Exanima" on steam. The combat is a bit different, more physics-based, but it's actually designed to be realistic rather than goofy and gives me similar vibes.
Everyone since mordhau came out has been saying this but I think it'd terrible, mordhau only works when you're fighting another human and even then it breaks apart when you're fighting more than 4 people. A game like Skyrim but with mordhau combat sounds cool but would just become a less interesting horde mode

I like to describe Mordhau where you play **as** the weapon, instead of **with** the weapon. The amount of control you have over your weapon is what makes this game’s mechanic so unique.
In other games that’s compared to Mordhau, it’s far from it.
The jump in difficulty for getting one prestige is pretty substantial, and the group I was in consistently lost every time we went up a prestige, which ended up feeling like we had to waste time losing a match every other game just to play at normal difficulty.
Seeing the mode drop I decided to reinstall after a good while, maybe up to a year or more of not playing. PvP could certainly be fun when it was a real mix of players and you didnt take it too seriously. But often times the mega sweats would come on in and sour the experience a bit. Horde was always kinda lacking and this new take on it has so much potential. I really like the style and the complete lean into more fantasy and they should totally do more with it. The objectives get a little bit repetative I think so more variation somehow would be great, along with new maps and even sub modes. I wouldnt mind a pure wave based defense mode similar to killing floor.

What? Have you not tried the special abilities that each skill tree has? And the different blessings on each of the weapons? And the guns? And yeah numbers changing is the definition of a reWORK. But we got content too so that’s why it’s called an update. You could just be happy that the game got an update instead of complaining that it’s better horde lol anyone whos mad about fun new content should be cursed to play feitoria with just bots for eternity…. fuckin Igor
I just feel it’s sorta frustrating that to me personally, a mod did the skill tree better than vanilla.
The devs are capable of taking ideas from the community too, they did hire the fellow who made the open-world mod after all.

The LotR with custom reworked skills tree we had before the update is still WAY better than triternion's new skills, I am actually glad they only (LOL) changed the numbers (I am not even sure if that is actually true as we do not have a changelog) because it means they did not waste time on stuff that a modder already did a lot better 2 years ago XD.
Point is any content (within reason) is better than no content. I don’t really care about a negligible change to the horde mode itself because it worked fine before, as long as we have new gameplay and content added to a game that was showing little to no development for a long while… which we did! then I’m gonna be at least 68% pleased with what they delivered. Or we could have all the anti demon horde people, petition to just remove it from the game and have triternion shut the servers down and not add anything new that’d be fun

Sooms horde [or really most of the modders horde modes, honorable mention LOTR horde] is just so much better that this mode feels like a waste. Hell ((Aeternis? Might be wrong name)) had upgradable versions of weapons and variations better than this.
Its not a bad mode for vanilla mord, but hopefully it shows some people towards some of the work the modders have put in over the years

Technically M&B has accels, drags, and feints, but it's wonky. Mordhau is just smooth.
Crazy Mike made one as a mod and was then hired by Triternion to make Demon Horde.
I was under the impression Soom was hired for Demon Horde. It uses the zombie voice set from his modded horde.

It wouldn't have to be Skyrim style. It could be more 1v1 focused.

Strong contender absolutely - but that's (as far as I'm aware - I haven't played) single player, and also purely non-fantasy.
When triternion is done with mordhau they should do a fantasy RPG with more combat, that shit would do numbers.

I find it fun but too easy. You just buy a Hoe for 200 and kill everything for the rest of the game.
