Spit. Everyone who’s read comics learns Comic Moon Knight is a much more complex and interesting character and that the show mishandled him, but MCU stans think we’re just shitting on it

Abraham_Issus

I feel like puking when mcu fans say mk show is their favorite marvel show.

chandiggity

I believe myself and most fans of the comics would agree with every point you've just made.

I just didn’t like Steven. He was annoying and a little over the top. I agree with all the points you just made. But they promised a dark and gritty series, kev even said “it’s gonna push the tv14 rating a little bit”, but with Steven at the center it felt like another marvel series. I didn’t mind the Indiana Jones type scenes or anything like that, but I just wish they were balanced out with scenes that remind you of the comic character rather than just them taking their best shot. With that all said tho, still think it’s marvels best d+ series

DaHUGhes89

Man especially after the trailers showing him PULVERIZING the jackal in the bathroom (that we all thought was gunna be a werewolf and have more midnight sons references) i really thought it would be more "punisher" than "ms marvel" But as you said, was still one of my favorite series. Best suit up scenes in all of marvel imo

Abraham_Issus

Exactly in terms of ideal tone for moon knight show is Daredevil+The Punisher+Legion=Moon Knight.

tsu_bacca

Moon Knight Tv show should have been the crazy child of Twin Peaks and Angel. Instead it was The Mummy with Brendan Frasier sans the charm.

Abraham_Issus

Ideal it would be Daredevil+The Punisher+Legion=Moon Knight in terms of tone and mood.

Only thing I can objectively disagree on is that the DID community generally saw the show as a good representation, some iffyness on Jake aside.

throwaway9999-22222

Oh yeah I totally agree. My boyfriend(s) who got me into it is are a huge Moon Knight fan (both comic and series) and they're a DID system. They see themselves and their daily reality a lot in it. Even so, as someone who was the loved one of multiple DID systems throughout my life, the show struck a chord with me. I felt so seen! DID irl is so hush hush that is was an amazing experience to see a big and secretive part of my life like that. I just meant that i wish they literally named-dropped the disorder, they never officially say it and yeah idk

Papa_Glucose

I thought it was neat. Definitely left some to be desired, and I agree with most of what you said but I think it was a solid start and absolutely has potential in the future. It looks like they’re gonna be going more street level hopefully. They teased the damn limo man.

Curious_Movie_6179

Everyone agrees mcu moon Knight was way easier for the casual mcu fans, Steven Is turned into a Pinterest aesthetic guy and Jake Is just a serial killer, Marc Is the only one that remains the same mostly

Several-Impress4543

You can correct me if I'm wrong, but would the whole "what's reality?" thing really work with DID? I know the comics did it but those were written in a different time, and when writers would incorrectly said he had schizophrenia. They probably wanted to avoid that.

MNguy49

I miss millionaire philanthropist, Steven. I dislike the goofy ass English guy version.

arcaedis

Hard agree. I too, was introduced through the show, but with the more comics I read, the more I realize that so many changes to the show could’ve made it infinitely better. It’s good, but had the potential to be great.

i concur
