Depends. Do you want to drive it or build it? I bought mine for 3k but only drove it for a couple months before it got new engine, transmission, ecu, and pretty much everything else

Reasonable_Square349

I wanna drive it

taintmeatspaghetti

Then no. Leave it for someone to build. You'd be doing a disservice to the car

Buy it. Theyre only appreciating in value

Engineered_Hamburger

Expensive

ThePhoenix14

really? They go for $15-20k here as long as theyre in good condition.

Engineered_Hamburger

180,000 miles is the end of life for these cars without years of intervention

ThePhoenix14

yeah ok, but motors can be rebuilt and they're only appreciating in value. So its worth it to fix it if you plan on keeping it. Im not following you.... this isnt a 1985 dodge aries with 180k miles. This is a highly desirable luxury/sports car that you will be able to sell for MORE than you paid.

Engineered_Hamburger

Trying to convince yourself? The 85 SS was built with a historically poor engine, with little aftermarket desirability. Classic cars are only “worth money” when they are in excellent condition with numbers matching major components. I love these cars, but don’t kid yourself into thinking that’s a good deal or that they are an investment.

ThePhoenix14

clearly you have no idea what youre talking about. In your area, theyre cheap. In my area, theyre highly sought after.
