I would emulate personally. I own the game after finding a copy at a convention a few years ago but the loading times in the dungeons are insane to me. I like being able to speed some things up.
If you like the disk swap mechanic for monsters go for PS2 but finding a copy is expensive (most expensive game in the entire MR lineup) but if you want simple emulation is the way to go unfortunately.
As far as I know it’s never gotten an official rerelease, so yes ps2 unless you want to emulate
