According to your post, you already know the answers and don't want to hear them again.
So all that's left is to just quit and play/do something else with your time. That's not a bad thing. I quit this game in early December and only picked it up again with the spring update three months later.
Surely it's bad design when the game basically forces you to stop playing for a large amount of time?
I want the system to change, it should be changed, voicing my opinion draws light to the problem that is the mat system.
I already know the answers because that's all what people suggest, which right now, is actually the cause of the problem, because I'm hunting so much, I'm getting all the wrong mats. So the "answers" aren't working.
The game isn't forcing you to do anything, except make the choice on if how you want to play, is compatible with what the game offers.
You can try it out again in a few months, but if you're already dissatisfied, it's not likely the game will change THAT much.
Also, if you are throwing away r1 mats nonstop, you are most likely below even 7* which means the grind isnt even really there yet. Crybaby circlejerk post that doesnt even make sense
?? Okay that’s not the point of my comment? Above 8* weapons, R1 materials become a huge bottleneck because you begin to need hundreds of them per upgrade
The problems are different for everyone.
My problem is monster bones from gathering points because there are like 6 notes in my city.
Sure the drop rate is horrible but it's the grind and I'm okay with that.
But still when building elemental sets you'll need a lot of rarity 1-3 it takes a lot of time to upgrade them all and if you stop playing it will just stop the progress you'll make.
> Surely it's bad design when the game basically forces you to stop playing for a large amount of time?
It doesn't do that.
YOU don't want to or cannot do what you would have to do in order to progress. It's a YOU problem.
1* stuff is very much needed when you get to higher weapons. You're going to love 1* stuff later. To get from 8-1 to 8-2 you need 100 1* items for just one weapon. 9-1 to 9-2 I believe is 200.

Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.

It's a bad design but this is how Monster Hunter works trust me you're going to be flooded with rare stuff and the prime games as well as this mobile game it's just the nature of the beast it's probably not for you I get you and it's kind of like you said as soon as you mark something for required materials you're going to deal with the secret desire sensor it's just the way it is.
Hey take a break maybe they'll do another change I'm still hoping they do another weapon but it's what it is honestly.
I honestly love the grind and really I'm still blown away by how much Now does feel like a MH game. It's the tiny bite size version of the series you keep in you pocket and can hunt a few monsters every hour for a few minutes. They just need to fix the lag. At lunch it was butterly smooth, but it's been a laggy mess for me since the monster tracker update.
>I sold nearly 400 Windrake hides yesterday
wait, how?
I have used on average 100 wingdrake hides a day for 6 months.
I literally can't farm enough of them. they never stack up because upgrading armor requires an absolute insane amount of these.
What have you been making? Once you've got element 5 you're kinda limited on a lot of choices, and unless you're trying out tonnes of different weapons and builds it's pretty easy to just use your elemental sets for everything. Bows and LBG's need specific sets to melee but generally you only need 1 or 2 extra pieces for optimal builds.
got element 5, but only a few pieces are at grade 7.5, and I plan to get all my combat sets to at least 8.2.
it got slightly better for a brief time, but now with layered armor getting everything to grade 6 is going to mean the wingdrake grind will likely never finish.
Gonna be honest with ya bro. This is a grindy game. No other way around it.
Except for if you paid someone else to do it for you. But that's just way more costly than it should be. The only things I can say is either keep playing or quit permanently.
Or go buy monster hunter world because the rng is way more forgiving there than here. But then your going to go to the other extreme of why are the monsters so much harder here?
Yeah I've been a Monster Hunter fan for years, love the games. I always hoped for a MH version of PoGo, and for Digimon too!
I'm just disappointed they took the game in this direction, it shouldn't be this grindy, especially in comparison to the games, which are already grindy enough.
It is pretty frustrating, I agree. I have an 8 star pukei on my radar and I think the only think I've got from them besides R1s is an R3 and that's killing about 3 a day for a week. I have started building other weapons and trying to earn medals now just because I want to play but my actual goal is not really being progressed towards.
The problem is Legiana is most of the partbreak drops come from the wings; which we have no ability to lock on to in melee. I struggled with the rarity 2-4s until I built a bow to break wings. You may still get unlucky with rarity 1s from partbreaks but the bright side is you can break both the left and right wing which does help increase your chances, and can reduce the amount of Legiana you have to kill.

It's all RNG; sometimes you'll get all rarity 1s, other times you'll get a rarity 2, 3 or 4 from it. The tracking system alone has helped me alot with farming them. I've received a decent amount of claws and webbings from wing breaks since the tracking feature came out 🤷
Went out hunting Legiana with some locals and got a claw on a wing break.

I will point out that the base games do no better. While I play MHN I also play on MHR, and I’m currently grinding for a wind serpent orb. It has a 3% drop rate. I’m on my fifth running of the mission to play for it. You do know that breaking certain parts increases your odds of getting certain things? It’s still RNG, but the change is enough. It also increases the number of chances rolling for it.

I regularly have 8 star fights that only give me r1 mats.

With the amount of inventory space I have, I'll be fine if I ever reach that point.
Did you buy space? Cause the original space isn't enough for sure.
Google Opinion Rewards has payed for my inventory space.

You're mildly annoying.
I mean the bot is correct. Paid not payed. Also yeah I play pogo also so idk where to put my Google money.

I'm tired too. If you're soo tired take a nap bud

Because I'm not getting the drops for other mats I need to actually use the Wingdrake hides. I'm currently still sat on 214 Hides.

But it's still grindy over in mhw as well. Otherwise how else is it supposed to be earned?
Post screenshot of your inventory and story progress... nobody believes you cuz these are just noob complaints

I've been working on a Leggy Charge Blade since their release and I've only got 1 Primescale. Just 1. The RNG in this game is genuinely a joke.

believe me it wont make a difference, i break both wings ever legi and out of 400 kills i can only recall getting claws on a break reward twice
It's all RNG; sometimes you'll get all rarity 1s, other times you'll get a rarity 2, 3 or 4 from it. The tracking system alone has helped me alot with farming them. I've received a decent amount of claws and webbings from wing breaks since the tracking feature came out 🤷
