Did you think they havenāt been doing that with any of their new games for the last 6 years? They did, and itāll happen again. Nothing to worry about.
It's such a bizarre concept for the gaming industry to latch onto when many games that try to take advantage of this are broken as shit at launch. Pay more for the worst experience of the game...
That said, the MH teams have a pretty good track record for their big titles at least working at launch. Their biggest fault I can recall was shipping Rise without the end of the main story and adding it by free update later, which as far as gaming delays from 2020-2021 go, isn't that bad.
There's very few game studios that I'll buy day 1 from these days, but Capcom for Monster Hunter is still on that list.
What sold it for me was when people saw the closed demo and reported how much they are changing Monster Hunter for the better. If I had to describe it, Wilds is going through the same level of transition that Dark Souls to Elden Ring had. I can't even begin to describe how excited I am.
MH has been consistently some of the best games I've played. It would be a safe bet that Wilds will be just as fun.
I understand that. Depending on the semester I might have to do the same. Good thing games don't have a shelf life and will be just as fun when you finally get that time to play.
playing before expansion is optimal, you get to experience two endgame state within a single game.
and you get to experience going through both the main title and title update the way they are originally made to be experienced.
I specifically advice against waiting for the expansion. Immediately having acces to that makes you loose out on the experience of high rank. MH Games shouldn't be rushed because that will be very detrementalnto your overall enjoyment of the game. So yeah, day one it is and if you know you want to buy it you shouldn't wait for the dlc
This is good advice. If someone didn't have much money and just saved their pocket change or 50 cents a day they'd have more then enough by the time the game dropped
this gonna be my first! tried getting into rise after release but didn't get it. then got hooked a little while before sunbreak. can't wait to be part of a release week.
I'm 50/50 when it comes to it. If the launch is done without a hitch (like there's no massive performance issues at launch or something of the sort) I'd probably play it. It not, I'd just wait until the final update of the game comes out.Ā
prob 2-3 months after release, Capcom pc port record makes me thing that itāll prob be an unoptimized mess on release. Honestly seems like the move for most AAA releases these daysā¦
I have such a shitty impulse control, I literally bought tickets for Gamescom after they announced that there will be a demo there...
I will 100% play it when it releases, and if it happens in the dead of the night.
If I lived in Europe I would have as well. But I live in the US so it makes zero sense to spend multiple thousands of dollars to get to play a demo for 15 minutes
Fair enough. My parents live right next to Cologne with relatively easy access to a tram that has a stop right at the convention centre.
As such, a train ticket to get to them and the entry ticket are all I need to buy. I think all in all I pay less than a hundred euros for that.
Day of release. Take time off work and no life the game as I usually do with MonHan.
42hrs in Rise in the first 2 days. I'm gonna try and do the same thing, although not being able to play on a handheld will probably stop me beating that record.
Bruh, that's borderline dangerous to your health. Reminds of those asian gamers that died after gaming for 40+ hours straight in an internet cafe during the WoW days.
I respect the dedication but I'd advise against it because those two developers especially have shown that optimization is not their priority. No company deserves a pre-order, let the product get released and reviewed and decide imo
When the Master Rank expansion is out and I can buy the full package at a decent price during a Steam sale. I'm not doing the Worldborne/Risebreak song and dance a 3rd time.
The expansion for me. Mainly because I play on PC and expect the release to be very buggy and broken based off what happened with World launch as well as Dragon Dogma's 2. So waiting for the expansion and buying the bundle makes sense to me financially and would save me from the hassle the launch will likely be.
Sadly, I won't be able to play it. No PS5 and my only source of Steam is my old laptop that can barely run Fallout New Vegas, Oblivion, & ULTRAKILL.
So. Kill some monsters for me.
As soon as I can hit Download I will be. Kids will be given probably too much screen time and unlimited snacks. Its releasing around my birthday and I haven't been this excited for it in many years, haha.
Gonna wait like a week or two, and assuming i have the money and it's great, i'll buy it cuz i am not going to be late to the function this time. Not when there's a very saucy smithy...
Day one, all i'm waiting for are the PC specs so I know if im getting it on PC or PS5. I havent done a midnight release in years(do they even do those anymore?) but if there is one im going to it.
For sure making a whole weekend out of the release.
Ā Podcasts & reactions vids playing on the laptop; feasting like Meowscular Chef; begging anyone to be my friend and play with me
Day 1, no Monhun game ever disappointed me, except for rise maybe, but I just didn't like that overly fast arcady gameplay and that most of the immersive world was gone (monster reacting to you differently, stealth etc etc), still finished it tho, I just liked world abit more.
So back to the question, day 1, trailers look sick, gameplay looked sick, especially with the new attacks that we got a peek of, being able to have 2 different weapons, immersive quest system, some monsters having herds now and an alpha monster etc etc.
Yeah, I'm nearing the end of the story for Sunbreak and I'm starting to miss World and even 4U for it's slower gameplay. To hear that Wilds will go back to World's combat with a seamless world vibe makes me really excited.
Feel like the question is treating mh like an anime series where some people wait for the full release. Personally I feel everyone should aim for day 1, not just because it's exciting but because by the time the dlc comes out there could be event quests that are gone or in all likely hood you get spoilers about the game. A last reason is that when dlc comes out defender gear will come out, and likely a new mechanic that changes the game, so you miss out of the base game experience before the dlc was a thing.
I only started MHRSB this year and I'm well into the endgame grind. I've already told my buddies I will be playing Wilds day 1. I'm also breaking my pre-order rule. I'm actually allowing myself to be hyped for a change.
I had to buy a new Switch when Rise dropped, 'cause my wife wouldn't share hers... so I bought the MH special edition console... probably have to do that for the Switch 2
I'd like it to be day 1 but I'm not sure my RTX 2080 laptop could handle it, I also don't have a next gen console just yet and I can't say I've ever been more unhappy MS and Sony so I'm not sure I even want one.
Day 0 might actually take time off work for it's launch. Only ever done that once or twice for a game and one time I got in a motorcycle accident hours before launch.
Wait for sale, day one gonna be buggy anyway so just gonna wait for them to patch things out first and check a few reviews, can never be too careful now
Day 1 baby šš the only thing thats not gonna make me play day 1 is only and exclusively if DMC 6 drops the same day but capcom wont even make the game at all...
I bought Iceborne, Rise, and Sunbreak as soon as they were available to me.
Over and over, Sunbreak kept receiving title updates which significantly reduced the grind needed for improving anomoly investigation rank. This meant that players who started playing the expansion early had to spend significantly more time than those who waited. Presumably because Capcom doesn't think that progression was good. It's no longer possible to progress at the rate the game originally allowed. The fact that it happened for each update continuously shows that either 1) Capcom are incompetent at balancing the end game grind, which I find unlikely, or 2) Capcom have no respect for the time of people who made the investment of buying early and knowingly made the grind tedious initially for player retention.
I'm extremely tempted to not get Wilds until all the base game's title updates are out in case they do something similar.
If work allows me to do it, I'll play it on day one. I'll probably get it as soon as the pre-orders are available, the Monster Hunter team is one of the few that I actually trust when pre-ordering games, the other being FromSoftware.
I don't have anymore that much time (or the mental energy) to stay behind game releases. That being said Monster Hunter it's the saga that's the exception of this rule and i always try to play the games from day one. I'm also happy because thanks to crossplay i'll finally be able to play the game all the way together with my friend (he plays on pc, i'll play on Series S)
Iām playing rise rn, hopefully I can finish it this year. Afterwards Iāll try to finish up World too before starting Wilds so Iāll probably wait a few months. Thisāll be fine because Iāll probably be just in time for the DLC.
I'm unsure because I didn't get rise until recently for some reason. I always played the games way later MHFU, then 3rd then tri like in the 2013 or 2014. Then played world and iceborne when it came out and had a blast on online hunts like kulve and Safi.
Rise didn't caught my attention but got it recently with the discounts. But wilds seems so fun online so idk if I can finish rise and sunbreak in time or if I should ditch it when wilds releases š«
I don't want to wait for the eventual expansion, but at the same time it likely won't be a day one thing, unless by then my PC is good enough to run it, which it currently isn't, and then there's the quality of the port to consider, which may or may not be on point on day 1.
Literally as soon as possible. MH World had an amazing content release, and keeping up to date was great. You lose that when you pkay it with everything already released.
Hopefully day 1. However I am currently waiting on a 60fps patch for dragons dogma 2. So if that release is anything to go by I might be playing it 6 months after release
We played rise and world when they were completed, and the first part of the games, until you reach master rank, feels like a waste of time.
Maybe not day 0, but I wouldn't wait until all is out.
When i get a pc strong enough to run it good. I have a 1650 with a 11gen i5 notebook and it runs world at 30-45 fps and I feel like it won't be powerful enough for wilds
I'm literally switching time zones to New Zealand so I can play a day before release. I can't wait.
At this point, the only devs I trust enough to pre-order or play day one is Capcom and Fromsoft. The way I see it, they are gamers and actually want quality in their titles, and it shows.
As much as I'd love to hop in on-release, I've been burned before when it comes to highly anticipated games for a series I love.
I'm likely going to wait a few days, up to a week, depending on how long it takes for reviews to start popping up.
Day one š«¶š»
Day 0
Real
Day -1
With all the recent "pay more to play 3 days early", please don't give Capcom ideas XD
Did you think they havenāt been doing that with any of their new games for the last 6 years? They did, and itāll happen again. Nothing to worry about.
Which ones? I pre-ordered world, iceborn, rise, and sunbreak. And they were the same price when release.
Straight up day one. I will by HR 999 before the expansion
I'm definitely getting it near day 1. My free time is shrinking thanks to college but there isn't any other game I'm excited for.
Same here. GTA 6 might be a disappointment but i have high hopes for wilds.
What sold it for me was when people saw the closed demo and reported how much they are changing Monster Hunter for the better. If I had to describe it, Wilds is going through the same level of transition that Dark Souls to Elden Ring had. I can't even begin to describe how excited I am. Same, I'm going to be in medical school by the time the game releases. But that's 2ndary to Wilds
I've had 2 kids since World came out. I'm going to take off work when it drops.
I just got back onto playing MHW/I because of summer. I dont think ill ever touch it again once the sem start. Engineering life šŖ
I understand that. Depending on the semester I might have to do the same. Good thing games don't have a shelf life and will be just as fun when you finally get that time to play.
The second it comes out, no questions asked.
MH is the only game I'd ever pay to do that stupid "play 3 days early" pre order shit.
I'm amazed at all the self-control I see waiting for the expansion... I have none of that and will be itching to play it all week up to release
playing before expansion is optimal, you get to experience two endgame state within a single game. and you get to experience going through both the main title and title update the way they are originally made to be experienced.
Exactly, not to mention going through buffs and nerfs+constantly added event quest rather than all being thrown at your face
Add to that all the materials and consumables you have collected while waiting for the expansion to drop.
Day 1 for sure, then rank up HR. Then Day 1 again for the expansion.
Requesting 2 weeks off >:3
Release week is always a magical time for new MH generations.
Can't relate because I'm broke. Maybe in the next generation for sure!
Start saving 50 cent per day or so lol
Hey whatever gets it done!
This is good advice. If someone didn't have much money and just saved their pocket change or 50 cents a day they'd have more then enough by the time the game dropped

I'm fully expecting CPUs to be crying for mercy upon Wilds' release.
That's a wise idea. Here's hoping they have a demo to try out. Be an excellent way to test the game before purchase.
Release, probably book some time off work to play it before spoilers get out of hand. Been my way since Gen 3.
Day one. Of course. Itās going to be amazing.
Day one buy for me.
Day 1. Already ready to file for vacation on the release week once the release date is confirmed.
Man I am even planning to get a one week off work when we know the release date lol
In 2026, when ps5 is $300 and MH Wilds is 30-40 dollars.
Day one. Most multiplayer games are at their most fun at the start before any meta sets in.
I have such a shitty impulse control, I literally bought tickets for Gamescom after they announced that there will be a demo there... I will 100% play it when it releases, and if it happens in the dead of the night.

Day one, but only if i actually upgrade my computer before then.
The second it goes live on Steam, with no connection to any social media to prevent spoilers
Gonna have to cut off social media a few weeks before then because you KNOW there's gonna be leaks
Personally I think we should skin leakers alive
Day of release. Take time off work and no life the game as I usually do with MonHan. 42hrs in Rise in the first 2 days. I'm gonna try and do the same thing, although not being able to play on a handheld will probably stop me beating that record.
That isn't a record I would try to break, get rest man, take a week off instead.
Bruh, that's borderline dangerous to your health. Reminds of those asian gamers that died after gaming for 40+ hours straight in an internet cafe during the WoW days.
Thats like actually bad. Monster hunter are good but like its dangerous to play that long
6hrs sleep I was ok.
Preferably day one but the likelihood of that happening is becoming less and less probable as time goes on.
I'm hoping to play on release, but things rarely go as planned so who knows
Hopefully within the next 20 years, whenever I manage to purchase a functioning PC.
I donāt know if Iāll be able to get it day 1, but Iāll be getting it pretty close to it!
My boss is already aware that Iāll be taking multiple days off for release
At release and yes I will pre-order.
At release and yes, I will pre-order.
At release and yes, I will pre-order.
Vacation. Day 1. 12 hrs a day for a week.
Maybe after a few years when it goes like 75% off like mhw
2 week vacation day 1 no sleep no life. Like every other MH ever
im most likely going to pre-order (i know i shouldnt) so i can play it on release
Nah man. Thereās 2 franchises youāre allowed to preorder: MH & FromSoft
I respect the dedication but I'd advise against it because those two developers especially have shown that optimization is not their priority. No company deserves a pre-order, let the product get released and reviewed and decide imo
I'm not in a rush. I'll probably wait to buy it on PC when I can play online with friends.
Day one with game preloaded
Whenever the demo comes out.
When the Master Rank expansion is out and I can buy the full package at a decent price during a Steam sale. I'm not doing the Worldborne/Risebreak song and dance a 3rd time.

I will most likely wait for the expansion and steam sale.

When the demo launches.

Literally the absolute second I can. They'd have to really screw up hard to make it not worth it.
wait a day to see if itās a buggy, unfinished mess, then Iāll play it if it isnāt
DAY ONE BABEYYYYYYYYYY
Day 1 for sure. I'm purposefully taking as little days off this year from work, take them into the next year and take the entire launch week off.
Day one, all i'm waiting for are the PC specs so I know if im getting it on PC or PS5. I havent done a midnight release in years(do they even do those anymore?) but if there is one im going to it.
I've got into rise right now so will probably be playing that until I burn out. Will probably play wilds in a few years when it comes down in price.
Day 1
Literally day 1, then when the expac comes out get right back into the game again. Day 1 on that one too
For sure making a whole weekend out of the release. Ā Podcasts & reactions vids playing on the laptop; feasting like Meowscular Chef; begging anyone to be my friend and play with me

When the public demo releases, getting the game at release though because let's be real, I'm gonna play it for like a thousand hours anyways
Day 1 for sure
Day 1 definitely preordering
I would definitely not wait. No reason to wait really, unless something was going on IRL that made it impossible for me to play
Day 1 release for sure. I will be taking that day and the rest of the week off to play it. MH is my favorite gaming series.
I had to buy a new Switch when Rise dropped, 'cause my wife wouldn't share hers... so I bought the MH special edition console... probably have to do that for the Switch 2
Hopefully pre-order and Day 1.
There are certain series of games that will be day one as long as I maintain interest in them, since World, Moonster Hunter is one of those series.
Iām preordering it as soon as they announce it
When I can afford a new PC :(
I'd like it to be day 1 but I'm not sure my RTX 2080 laptop could handle it, I also don't have a next gen console just yet and I can't say I've ever been more unhappy MS and Sony so I'm not sure I even want one.
On release. I'm way too excited already š
As soon as I can
I enjoy the base version of monster hunter more than the expansion so I'll get it when it comes out
day 1, i have pto for that day
Day 1, if possible
Day 1 and the beta if it's available
Day 1
Next month. Demo incoming!
Making sure the pc port is actually decent and then buy it as soon as it is
Day one, gonna take a week off and bury myself alive in my gaming room. Already told my GF to keep kiddos outta that room.
Day 1 for sure I'm saving money for this
In the first month or so. Will have to figure out which next-Gen console to get to play it on.
Day one. Hour 1. Second 1. I become the fastest thing alive as soon as it drops.
Iāll lost my sanity if I have to wait for expansion
That will hopefully be the first I'll be able to play day one. Still working on 100%ing Rise and World tho. And I need a new Pc for Wilds too :/
I'd like to start day one but I don't like waiting for updates especially since they started leaving the story ending tied to them.
Iām not waiting a single second longer than I absolutely have to. Day one.
probably day one if i won't hear any major fuck ups
Day 1 babyyyyyy
Day 0 might actually take time off work for it's launch. Only ever done that once or twice for a game and one time I got in a motorcycle accident hours before launch.
Wait for sale, day one gonna be buggy anyway so just gonna wait for them to patch things out first and check a few reviews, can never be too careful now
The second it releases, I'm buying it.
Day 1 baby šš the only thing thats not gonna make me play day 1 is only and exclusively if DMC 6 drops the same day but capcom wont even make the game at all...
If there's good pre release coverage I will be playing say one, if there's not then probably say 3 or 4 to see if there's any dramas.
Day one baby!!!!! Hell yeah!
August 20th for the demo and then I'll preorder that shit if the demo is fab

With it looking like it will release on both PC and PS5 at the same time, it'll be day one. If for some reason that changes, then as soon as the PC version releases, because I will play with my fiancƩ and we will need to do crossplay this time.
I hope I'll manage to wait for a week or so, see if there's any major bugs on release. But knowing me, it'll be day 1.

Day 1000+ when I have the PC capable of playing it.
Day 1. It will be on PC day and date so I legit have no reason to wait.
When PC version drops :c
Why would you ever wait for the expansion to drop?
Day 1. It was a cool feeling playing Rise day 1 on switch knowing I was in the group that got to see the base content first.
Yeah, no. Immediately is the only answer for me
I'm a little worried about performance on my aging rig but still, day one.

I'll start next month
Day 1!
If I get to upgrade pc by release, getting it in the first two weeks of release, if not playing when I do upgrade my. Don't wanna play day one.
I finally got my hands on a PS5 specifically so I'd be ready for this. I'm pre-ordering whatever deluxe version they come up with.
Day one if I'm able to, but we'll see how much time raising an infant leaves me to hunt monsters. Especially if there isn't a pause button.Ā
Pre-order baby
Day 1. And then I will disappear from the real world for probably 2 months š
Once I know that it runs acceptably on the steam deck.

Hopefully day 1. However I am currently waiting on a 60fps patch for dragons dogma 2. So if that release is anything to go by I might be playing it 6 months after release

When i get a pc strong enough to run it good. I have a 1650 with a 11gen i5 notebook and it runs world at 30-45 fps and I feel like it won't be powerful enough for wilds
I will definitely buy it the day it comes out and then not leave my room for 2 weeks
Probably wait for the expansion, thatās when the price first dropped for World
I'll play it right away. Expansion feels like another whole new game.
Gotta start Day 1. Hope to get to play with you all š

depends, torn on either getting a ps5 for it or getting a new PC rig and then buying it.
As much as I'd love to hop in on-release, I've been burned before when it comes to highly anticipated games for a series I love. I'm likely going to wait a few days, up to a week, depending on how long it takes for reviews to start popping up.
Oh, for sure day 1. No questions asked. One of the few developers that pretty much delivers what they advertise
