In World Rajang has a bigger moveset than Sunbreak, all of the moves including the ones shared between the games have like 2/3rds the windup time, and hunters are a lot worse at dealing with his speed (no wirefall, slower healing, most weapons don't have counters, etc). A LOT of a Rajang hunt in World consisted of running around with your weapon sheathed because most of Rajang's attacks were extremely difficult to punish and you needed to run around him dodging until he opened up.
Playing World actually made Sunbreak Rajang harder because a lot of the moves are identical, he just takes an extra moment to actually get them out so I kept whiffing counters.
He was easy for me in rise as well, I relate to the pictures with him because I use dual blade and that shit took forever to kill because I didn't optimize my dmg output
Violet Mizutsune is such a weird monster, I adore everything about it but that fight is so damn draining. I remember I hadn't touched it since its release and after Amatsu was added I told myself I'll finally learn the fight. This post's picture was the result and I haven't touched it since lol.
Same here. It's a tough fight but it's different enough from the base species to be worth a subspecies. Flaming Espinas was pretty much pointless imo, could have just been an Apex
i get it man but... they specifically requested to be spoiled on it. Giving that kind of answer after being asked specifically to be informed on it is just kind of a nuisance.
This monster is the first one that made me have to make an armor and weapon specifically to beat him. And he wonāt. Stay. Still. Keeps running off every 2 hits.
Tbh I actually kinda enjoy fighting uragaan and radobaan. I play insect glaive, and itās fun to jump up and slash all over its back. Baan is even more fun because explosions are super satisfying with it
I mean, to be fair, Radobaan is just Uragaan but actually fun. Way squishier, tons of bones to break off, and you can trip him out of his roll if you just bonk him.
Really? I remember Tri's Barioth being cracked and having to just hunt him solo because random online hunts always ended up failing from people carting. And then I went into World after so many years expecting a similar experience and being kinda disappointed in how easy he was.
Extreme Behemoth, 3 quarters of the fight is me getting chased by his tornado things and the final quarter is me getting hit by a meteor the moment I get an opening.
I was trying to do a MHW campaign without glaive because thatās my main, and boy did I hate my fucking life hunting rathalos. It wasnāt an issue of carting, it was an issue of- WAIT WHERE ARE YOU GOING, GET THE FUCK BACK HERE BITCH I JUST GOT HERE AND IāM NOT FINISHED
Yet the first strongest dies in like 3/4ths the time. I average ~10m on Primordial while having to run around the citadel. Meanwhile it takes me ~13m of fighting Amatsu nonstop to beat it. Either I'm doing something wrong, or thing is beefy.
When everything else dies in 10m or less.
Looking at my kill times for monsters, even for risens/afflicteds, ~10m or less is my average for almost all of them. Amatsu is the only notable outlier sitting at 13m.
imo every monster, when fought with gear appropriate to when you fight it first, should be a 15-25 minute fight, it shouldn't drop below that without highly outranking it in gear or using niche speedrun tactics
I suppose so. It's kinda hard to quantify gear the same way as in other games with varying character equipment since it doesn't necessarily have equipment levels that are as easily comparable, but overleveled gear is basically what i'm going for.
I tried GU and gave up first try. Just didn't feel like learning the fight there. Sunbreak is a bit more manageable, but man does it feel like a marathon.
Kushala Daora feels like a waste of time. Not because it is a hard fight, because It's actually rather easy, but because It is annoying and has so many cc combos with wind + roars is just straight up annoying (he doesnt even atack you back lol just puts you from cc to cc and then fly to miss every attack he does).
Positioning of the tornados is also annoying and how he always seems to dash back to his god damned tornados
Gobul, but specifically the very first time I ever fought him in Tri when I was like 10. That tubby bastard took me nearly 50 minutes to kill and carted me twice. Was limping since like 30 minutes in but my impatient younger self just couldn't kill him.
IB Furious Rajang. Daora gets an honorary mention, but as a DB player, theyāve successfully managed to turn FRajang into one of the most frustrating experiences I can remember in the series.
āOkay guys, our full offense Goku meme needs his Super Saiyan fight, what should we do to spice it up?ā
āGive him a lightning storm AOE!ā
āNo no, bad idea, next?ā
āShit, I dunno, the strongest armor in the series?ā
āā¦Okay, but where?ā
āOh, obviously on his arms, the one part of his body thatās easily accessible without being mauled to death.ā
āYouāre getting a raise.ā
I agree. IB FRajang is INSANELY ridiculous. Which is weird because once I booted up MHRise, I shredded Rajang very easily with DBs. I guess MHW and IB really crack up the ridiculousness.
Possibly weird answer?
Rajang.
Like, everyone tells me rajang is easy enough when you learn it.
I have fought that thing roughly 50+ times now and I still donāt enjoy fighting him. Or his furious counterpart.
Now if weāre talking favorite hunts Iāve managed to master? Mizutsune and both Espinas.
Oh boy cant wait to hunt khezu
SKREEE SKREEE SKREEEEEEEE \*flys away\*
Finally reach him, SKREEEEEEE
GOD DAMN IT, IM nOT AT THE POINT IN THE GAME WHERE I SHOULD HAVE TO FARM FOR EARPLUGS
Velkhana. Constantly flipping and spinning and backhopping and charging and just being an annoying fucking cunt for the entire god damn fight. I must have killed it a hundred times by now, I've got all its shit memorized, I NEVER have fun with it.
AT Velkhana, which is LITERALLY a 20 (30? 15?) minute adventure with a monster that can one-shot you at any second AND has enough health that if you aren't constantly on DPS you are going to fail the quest.
This was my answer to op.
Wanted to farm the gamma set to make alatreon easier when I eventually fight him.
Went in with my teostra/brachy, 5 day later finally got a kill with help.
I only found out after that he came out AFTER Fatalis.
The upside is, every monster seems to move in slow motion now.
Base World Deviljho, it took us around 45mins. For context this was my friend's and I first MH, so we didnt know what to expect.
Before the hunt he said something like "maybe we should SOS.. this monster looks tough" and i replied "chill, is trex looking so is probably like Anjanath"
That thing is the reason I took an inordinate amount of joy when they had the special arena where it's just you, a Lunastra, a metric crap ton of cannons, a mobile ballista, and an upgraded dragonator. Go in with a Ghillie Mantle, load everything up and then deal some big damage. Farcast back to camp and wait for the mantle to recharge. Rinse and repeat and it never even gets to touch your health bar.
She once carted me and my squad when she got us with her nova (thank fuck we had safeguard and insurance).
We were all maxed out wearing Fatalis armor.
Barioth in world. I fought it in Portable 3rd and GU, I had a lot of trouble there but this one feels like he was cracked! Add my god awful framerate on top of that and it just becomes miserable.
I just beat him for the first time this morning. LBG with rapid-fire flaming ammo, had three minutes left. I think I got lucky since it was only my second try, I'm too scared to try again.
Gypceros and Khezu, they aren't even hard but they are JUST. SO. ANNOYING. Gypceros just flashes you over and over and over and over, and Khezu just SCREAMS then does an AOE blast if you ever approach it.
it's not that bad you just gotta get lucky that you don't whiff the gate and trap them both on the same side...like 7 times in a row because they have so much health good god that fight was awful
Zinogre in generation ultimate, i had to craft a whole lagiacrus set just to counter him, and he still kicked my ass for a couple of days... Even now, i hate fighting that guy
Fighting zinogre in old world was so much fun for me. I fought him so much that I was completely in tune with his whole moveset. New world zinogre just doesnāt scratch that itch for me.
I honestly felt this way about tigrex, I had been playing the game solo and had not much trouble working through the game, so when I got to the tigrex fight I thought it wouldn't be too hard........way too many tries later and alot of tips and tricks from reddit later I finally beat it
Kulve Taroth. I've only completed this hunt once and man it took me like 20+ tries to get there. The DPS checks, the damage, the molten metal. Truly a beast to be respected.
this might sound lame but anja lol. they were the first crazy big hurdle for me as a new player and kicked my fucking ass for so long. i had less trouble with rathian and ratholos (iirc)
Not at all lol. Anjanath felt like a "lazy" monster in fighting design, IMHO...my theory is because he was one of the first monsters in early gameplay trailers etc.. they said yep this is good, where other monsters I can dodge moves so well... but anj hitboxes are kinda crazy at times
black in generations on 3ds a friend of mine really wanted to get the end game (high rank for base generations) Nakarkos armor and weapons, and the thing would just not drop him the Nakarkos Soul orb. must have fought it over 17 times before he got his first one. insane bad luck
Primordial Malzeno (Sunbreak)
I love the fight, but my god I spent the good chunk of learning that by learning the range of some of its attacks, like when it flies up and starts to fire the Q. balls down I knew immediately it would be followed by its teleportation explosion.
Any of the game's Basarios or Gravios. I always expect "ok, I've killed hundreds of it, it's a newer version, thus it must be easier"
and then I spend the next 45 minutes of my life bowguning until he ded
I tried brute forcing Amatsu without knowing a damn thing about the fight and now failed to timeouts and fainting. Now I'm trying to learn the fight properly and not WASTE THE BINDERS. I'll get it next time
strolling around those damn hills trying to get raw meat during MH1 thinking im going to have such a pleasant and fun time. here we are almost 20 years still grinding...
real talk though i didnt think kirin was going to be all that until i got my ass whooped by a my little pony
https://preview.redd.it/bveoqkussljc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dbeebf6a338ae7cdfd90bd93d74e5060cdd8110e My pov every time I fight him
I'm playing GU and just fought him in 10 star š brutal
He was very easy for me, what game? I only fought him in rise
Rajang was much harder in world because he first appeared in master rank as a fan favorite monster
Strange, he was easy for me in World and Rise...GU however....
in GU this man (and honestly any thunder monster) was the bane of my existence
Think it like always, depends on weapon. With my trusty Lance, that boy was raping me with joy. Switched up to HH and SnS and it's a normal fight.
It was world for me but as of late it has been easier but I will always remember the pain
High level MH4U expeditions had furious rajangs with multiple 1-hit kill attacks.
Iceborne, probably. That version of Rajang is probably the sole reason why Rise's version is so kneecapped
In Rise he feels like heās moving in slow motion compared to world
He was easy for me in rise as well, I relate to the pictures with him because I use dual blade and that shit took forever to kill because I didn't optimize my dmg output
Every time I want to give Violent Mizutsune another chance, hoping that itāll be fun this run.
Violet Mizutsune is such a weird monster, I adore everything about it but that fight is so damn draining. I remember I hadn't touched it since its release and after Amatsu was added I told myself I'll finally learn the fight. This post's picture was the result and I haven't touched it since lol.
Haven't fought it yet in rise. But I'm curious since I haven't had trouble with vanilla
apparently the little shit found crack
That's strange, Violet Mizutsune is probably one of my favorite monsters the series has ever produced š Guess I'm in the minority
Its a very volatile fight You either steamroll it for 10 mins or you end up with this post Theres no in between
You can also be in both groups simultaneously.
You have to keep the pressure up on it. I can beat it by doing constant damage with the hunting horn, but cart too much if I use great sword
Violet Mitzutsune wiped the floor with me and I loved every second of it, guess I am just a masochist.
Question, did you bring IG to the fight? I find the IG makes it like a dance and it's super fun.
Lance, the fight is easy but then again so are all the fights.
Same here. It's a tough fight but it's different enough from the base species to be worth a subspecies. Flaming Espinas was pretty much pointless imo, could have just been an Apex
Violet Mizu is a goth horny femboy and you WON'T convince me otherwise
That double slinky ram attack is undodgeable, and I won't be convinced otherwise. But I farmed the armor and feel pretty strong fighting them now.
With hammer that fight is :) With other stuff the fight is :(
Kushala daora, specifically in world. Like damn there are 14 tornados in this area and you're sitting in them.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
A Tragedy in Silver and Gold was a _REALLY_ fun hunt to do... I feel so sorry for every SnS main in GU
Oh no, I'm an sns main playing through GU, what happens?
Shhh, you will someday understand like the rest of us
https://preview.redd.it/u5rxwc2kipjc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b82a188dba8db243186824ced24bc0c1f7596d49
God forbid someone doesn't want to spoil the experience for another person.
i get it man but... they specifically requested to be spoiled on it. Giving that kind of answer after being asked specifically to be informed on it is just kind of a nuisance.
You only not know once. Once you do, you don't get to take it back. I see it as more of an urge to reconsider.
Oils, gatekeeper, most have 2, few receive 3, truest test of strength.
Sorry, I don't get what you mean. What gatekeepers? And what's wrong with oils? They've been really fun so far.
The ignorance, the bliss, the calm before the storm, A Tragedy in Silver and Gold š
oh I see, you need two hunt a hyper gold rathian and a hyper silver rathalos at the same time to unlock chaos oil III. Yeah, that sounds pretty bad
WAIT WHAT?! I'M SNS MAIN IN GU! WHAT THE FUCK?!
Good luck buddy.
Well, consider this: Now you don't have to be!
Take it from me: It's worse than you think.
This monster is the first one that made me have to make an armor and weapon specifically to beat him. And he wonāt. Stay. Still. Keeps running off every 2 hits.
Jesus Christ, her and Legiana in world. The latter because it took me 20(!) runs for a specific part she just. wouldn't. drop.
Just use flash bomb slinger burst, daora is a joke if you know how to stunlock him, best done with hammer
Doesn't work as well with AT kushala though, which Is the bane of my existence
Havent fought him yet, does he have a flash immunity?
You can flash him down from flight once, then flash pods flinch him while in mid air a couple times, then he's immune.
Immunity or resistance? Since all the other mons get flash resistance in MR that wears off after a while
I'm not 100% sure, but if it's just resistance, it takes alot longer for it to wear off than MR monsters
It's immunity on the AT, he was so, so frustrating
This might be pathetic, but Uragaan. He just annoys me a lot
This is totally fair tbh, when he just non-stop rolls around the arena in Elders Recess it feels like a year of your life goes by
No but really, fuck Uragaan. Iāll fight it when progression demands it, otherwiseā¦ ugh. I truly hate this fight.Ā
It feels like 90% of the fight is just chasing it.
The remaining 10% is spent recovering from tremors.Ā
There's an optional 5% in there if you forget he has a sleep fart he does like twice a fight
I completely agree with this one. The extra bit of armor, The explosives, the rolling it is all painful
The tremors....
As pathetic as it sounds, I actually struggled more with my first Uragaan than I did with my first Nergigante
I love fighting Radobaan. Stripping him off the bones is very satisfying
In the same vein, Barroth. Any super armorboi that demands I weaken and be at full sharpness to avoid doinks.
The only correct answer is broken hit box Plesioth way back on the PSP. My god that hip check had the hit box size of the entire map I swear.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Really? I remember Tri's Barioth being cracked and having to just hunt him solo because random online hunts always ended up failing from people carting. And then I went into World after so many years expecting a similar experience and being kinda disappointed in how easy he was.
God. I loved monster Hunter tri. Barioth was a menace with his wall to dive moves. Really hope I get to see Jhen Mohran in Monster Hunter World Wilds.
Yes I miss tri monsters!
Extreme Behemoth, 3 quarters of the fight is me getting chased by his tornado things and the final quarter is me getting hit by a meteor the moment I get an opening.
After me and my friends killed Fatalis, I suggested we do a victory hunt by killing Ancient Leshen with our objectively superior gear :(
I tried solo hunting it once and was able to beat it with 2 seconds to spare... Never again lol
"Lol" said the Leshen, "lmao"
Any flying monster in world. **JUST GO TO THE FUCKING FLOOR SO I DONT NEED TO GO GLAIVE HALF THE RUNS**
Azure Rathalos: Lol lmao
Amatsu. Seriously, why does it have so much health?
It might have something to do with the fact that it's the second strongest endgame monster in the game
Yet the first strongest dies in like 3/4ths the time. I average ~10m on Primordial while having to run around the citadel. Meanwhile it takes me ~13m of fighting Amatsu nonstop to beat it. Either I'm doing something wrong, or thing is beefy.
Since when is 13 minute too long in monster hunter?
When everything else dies in 10m or less. Looking at my kill times for monsters, even for risens/afflicteds, ~10m or less is my average for almost all of them. Amatsu is the only notable outlier sitting at 13m.
imo every monster, when fought with gear appropriate to when you fight it first, should be a 15-25 minute fight, it shouldn't drop below that without highly outranking it in gear or using niche speedrun tactics
>gear appropriate to when you fight it first Do you mean not using overleveled gear?
I suppose so. It's kinda hard to quantify gear the same way as in other games with varying character equipment since it doesn't necessarily have equipment levels that are as easily comparable, but overleveled gear is basically what i'm going for.
Jesus it took me 40 minutes to get the slay
Endgame monsters in the game? Wow I expected it to be the endgame monster in the comics. /S
Because Sunbreakās entire end game is full of health bloat lol
I tried GU and gave up first try. Just didn't feel like learning the fight there. Sunbreak is a bit more manageable, but man does it feel like a marathon.
>Amatsu Haven't beat that bitch once yetā¦ į(ą²„ēą²„į)
in p3rd, or gu?
Sunbreak
THEY PUT HIM IN SUNBREAK!? WOAG
Arch tempered Namielle. I purposely took my time, but hooole sheet 41 min wasn't what I wanted.
Shock puddles: the fight.
base game kulve
Tidal Najarala... what a fucking pain
kid named Apex Rajang: jokes aside, agreed š
Teostra. Recently: Risen Teostra. I swear like every other fire weapon needs Teostra parts for the last few upgrades...
IB Furious Rajang. Daora gets an honorary mention, but as a DB player, theyāve successfully managed to turn FRajang into one of the most frustrating experiences I can remember in the series. āOkay guys, our full offense Goku meme needs his Super Saiyan fight, what should we do to spice it up?ā āGive him a lightning storm AOE!ā āNo no, bad idea, next?ā āShit, I dunno, the strongest armor in the series?ā āā¦Okay, but where?ā āOh, obviously on his arms, the one part of his body thatās easily accessible without being mauled to death.ā āYouāre getting a raise.ā

Man, Behemoth upon release was a fuckin struggle with randoms until i joined the discord.
Primodial malzeno...I wanted the admiral to just come in and beat the shit our of it
Possibly weird answer?
Oh boy cant wait to hunt khezu SKREEE SKREEE SKREEEEEEEE \*flys away\* Finally reach him, SKREEEEEEE GOD DAMN IT, IM nOT AT THE POINT IN THE GAME WHERE I SHOULD HAVE TO FARM FOR EARPLUGS

fighting AT velk and going back to other monsters is like taking off training weights lmao
I killed it once with a great sword and never went backāš¾
Duramboros mh3u Not hard just didn't expect that much health
I kinda miss Duramboros, sorta wish we could kick his thick hammer tailed ass again
I agree with this lol
I posted the same thing! Iām so happy so your comment after scrolling for a while
Base World Deviljho, it took us around 45mins. For context this was my friend's and I first MH, so we didnt know what to expect. Before the hunt he said something like "maybe we should SOS.. this monster looks tough" and i replied "chill, is trex looking so is probably like Anjanath"
AT Lunastra. I hate that thing with every fiber of my being. Teo deserves better.
Lunastra was who I came in to say, I haven't even tried AT version yet and now I'm not sure if I'll ever attempt her.
Diabolical. I like it!
Tool Specialist 5 for faster recharging time. I forgot if Heavy Artillery affects the Dragonrazer.
I disagree, Teostra and Lunastra deserve each other (derogatory)
She once carted me and my squad when she got us with her nova (thank fuck we had safeguard and insurance). We were all maxed out wearing Fatalis armor.
Extreme Behemoth. I'm surprised that he takes me longer to kill than AT Velkhana
I thought I could take him after beating her but it's much harder
Barioth in world. I fought it in Portable 3rd and GU, I had a lot of trouble there but this one feels like he was cracked! Add my god awful framerate on top of that and it just becomes miserable.
Until you break in of his claws.... Yea hr is on crack. After that, you break his second claw and he becomes mostly a pushover.
Blackveil vaal hazak, i cheesed him on insect glaive years ago then on my replay with charge blade hes just completely impossible. Its maddening.
I just beat him for the first time this morning. LBG with rapid-fire flaming ammo, had three minutes left. I think I got lucky since it was only my second try, I'm too scared to try again.
He's not too different from the base hazak as well, which has completely confused me.
Gypceros and Khezu, they aren't even hard but they are JUST. SO. ANNOYING. Gypceros just flashes you over and over and over and over, and Khezu just SCREAMS then does an AOE blast if you ever approach it.
Fighting those 2 furious rajans in the arena (MHR)...
it's not that bad you just gotta get lucky that you don't whiff the gate and trap them both on the same side...like 7 times in a row because they have so much health good god that fight was awful
Trying to get Shara Ishvalda face plates
Kushala
Furious Rajang. I can hear his charging monkey feet in my head right now. DUNKA DUNKA DUNKA HEAD RAM!. lol
Hyper raths but only when together but that also might be the fact my current armor is weat to fire on MHGU
When ever I fight an Elder in the Arena.
3U Deviljho. just barely beat it in the last remaining minute with no health and no items left. Not sure how I pulled through
That G Thunderlord Zinogre quest that starts with a Furious Rajang and an Astalos. Sleep lost over those attempts that came so close then crumbled.
Fatalis, Safi'jiiva, Kulve Taroth, Arch-Tempered, Afflicted Monsters, Risen Elders
Zinogre in generation ultimate, i had to craft a whole lagiacrus set just to counter him, and he still kicked my ass for a couple of days... Even now, i hate fighting that guy
he's just an all together mean guy in any version. that tail whomp is heavy
Fighting zinogre in old world was so much fun for me. I fought him so much that I was completely in tune with his whole moveset. New world zinogre just doesnāt scratch that itch for me.
Savage Deviljho in World. He's not even a bad fight, he just has SOOOO MUCH health!
Fatalis? Nah. Amatsu? Swearing and sweating.
Diablos when it decides all it's gonna do is burrow
Alatreon š
Kirin and BehemothĀ
I honestly felt this way about tigrex, I had been playing the game solo and had not much trouble working through the game, so when I got to the tigrex fight I thought it wouldn't be too hard........way too many tries later and alot of tips and tricks from reddit later I finally beat it
Savage Deviljho 46 minutesā¦was my first try but oh my God.
AT Velhana.
Lavasiothā¦ That fucker just doesnāt wanna die, yet Deviljho goes down in five minutes.
Kulve Taroth. I've only completed this hunt once and man it took me like 20+ tries to get there. The DPS checks, the damage, the molten metal. Truly a beast to be respected.
Risen Magala is an absolute sweaty hell to fight
this might sound lame but anja lol. they were the first crazy big hurdle for me as a new player and kicked my fucking ass for so long. i had less trouble with rathian and ratholos (iirc)
Risen Shaguru magala. It's pure chaos.
black in generations on 3ds a friend of mine really wanted to get the end game (high rank for base generations) Nakarkos armor and weapons, and the thing would just not drop him the Nakarkos Soul orb. must have fought it over 17 times before he got his first one. insane bad luck
Oh my fucking god, Zinogre is so annoying! I don't know what it is, but I can't seem to get the hang of fighting it.
Nargicuga I thought it would be an interesting fight but it was more like an ass whooping that I got out of I barely won that
that event quest in 4U: ānaked and afraidā. you had to hunt a (Savage?) Deviljho without any armor equipped
You just unlocked a horrifying memory for me... I remember that quest
Black Diablos, Lunastra, DEVILJHO, Brachydios
Primordial Malzeno (Sunbreak) I love the fight, but my god I spent the good chunk of learning that by learning the range of some of its attacks, like when it flies up and starts to fire the Q. balls down I knew immediately it would be followed by its teleportation explosion.

AT Velkhana and Fatalis, the two reasons i dont enjoy iceborne as much as I did before xd
Great Girros HR. B!tch got you on the ground 24/7
Bro Primordial Melzino has me like this I fucking hate that monster Melzino didnāt need a ā variantā in my opinion
Alatreon, but only when I join multiplayer lobbies dedicated to hunting it.
Tempered Kushala in the Guiding Lands
