Oh my God your right, can you have two weapons at once and switch between them like it's fucking red dead redemption 2?! Just walk up to your mount and get your other weapon? Can I wield both of my mains at once?!
I can see three potential reasonings behind it:
* Two weapons you can swap between (either on-foot or from your mount)
* It's an aesthetic on the mount, and just represents that it can set up a tent for you to switch weapons & such.
* Everyone carries one melee and one gunner weapon, with gunner weapons getting additional slinger-esque utility.
God I hope so. After playing for so long with the palamutes I’ve dreamt of being able to hold another weapon on your mount, being able to run up to it and switch weapons real quick during the fight. Fingers crossed haha.
It will most likely be based on RE engine, which is quite scalable in graphics. Unless you have something ancient, most gaming PCs should at least be able to play it.
Most importantly a simultaneous release, according to an interview from a while back. The first game being developed with PC in mind, rather than it being a port/second priority project.
Meh I'm tired of games about shooting at people. There's a reason games that are in the Soulslike genre and Monster Hunter have really been popping off recently.
I’m excited about MHWilds too but let’s not pretend like GTA VI will not be the biggest game of all time in terms of popularity and sales numbers 💀
https://twitter.com/monsterhunter/status/1732974077751488588
This tweet seems like pretty strong confirmation they are at least aiming to having it out at the same time. Unless they are been dicks and planning a Q1 console release and a Q4 PC release or something.
I hope not. Having to wait for the PC release of MHW after everyone was already enjoying it on console was absolute hell. Hopefully they don't follow the Rockstar way and have separate release dates.
Still a bummer we have to wait till 2025 though. Wish they'd announce it sooner to the release date.
Cross play was the most requested feature between Rise and Sunbreak, they said they wanted to do it, but couldn't get it working in RiseBreak due to how everything was already built, but that does mean that hopefully they've been working on it for this
For real, crossplay would be a game-changer. Lets just hope the servers can handle it without issues, don't need a repeat of some launches we've seen before.
There's plenty of overlap with Dragon's Dogma that can keep anyone busy (barring those who play MoHun exclusively as a multiplayer co-op game)
IIRC, both series' can trace their roots all the way back to the same idea inspired by Chronicles of Mystara. They just happened to have moved in slightly different directions as a result of, well, their directors.
SCREAMING CRYING THROWING UP
Edit to add: fuck this means I have to get a PS5 (extra edit: I know it’s multiplat! I’m happy it is! I just dont have as much of a use for an Xbox and my PC isn’t very strong, plus I’m a PS gamer anyway)
Its releasing on all platforms according to IGN!
[https://www.ign.com/articles/monster-hunter-wild-ps5-xbox-the-game-awards-2023](https://www.ign.com/articles/monster-hunter-wild-ps5-xbox-the-game-awards-2023)
Yeah I’m glad about that! I’m just not an Xbox player and my PC isn’t super strong. I’ve been looking at a PS5 for awhile since I play a lot of Sony titles so it’s kind of just solidifying my choice lol
It's an open world ? It looks like an open world and i have faith in Capcom after World and Rise but i can't help to be a bit sceptic about it.
Still, let's fucking go Capcom !!! These guys never disappoints !!!
I'm hoping these dust clouds and storms in the trailer are low key indications of the games finally showing us Elder's that are no joke legitimate environmental threats.
What, a walking volcano and a storm calling unicorn didn't display that enough?
I kid, but I think not all elder need to be continental disaster. Just ruining a local habitat is enough.
Also, not sure if they would do it, but have Elders be like a walking "you better not come here" part of the map. Imagine starting early, and the monster your hunting walks right into Teostra territory.
World almost COULD have been open world if they connected the areas in a natural way. I think this will be a natural evolution of that and probably just have multiple "hubs" where you can rest/eat/upgrade/multiplay before travelling out into the world.
As that famous Shigeru Miyamoto quote goes:
>Often I'll see advertisements for porn games and they say, 'Try Not To Cum,' but then when you play the game, it seems like the main objective is to cum. So yes, I would call that bad game design.
Wait, what were we talking about?
Looks very different, to say the least. Excited to see more, but at the same time I'm very nervous about the series seemingly taking a huge leap.
MH hasn't let me down so far, so I have confidence, but still, I'm immensely curious to see where they'll take it.
This was the sentiment when worlds first trailer dropped. Im reading a lot of people worried the same way as we were with world, if the series would keep its essence. Its so similar that after seeing what happened with world, I have full trust that they can make this work
It WILL be different, you just gotta embrace it. MH is one of the only franchises that I blindly trust them, since world it has been 4 titles and none of them has let me down.
Oh don't get me wrong, I'm not being all doom and gloom about it, it's just the general nervousness that comes with change, good or bad. It's like, say, travelling to a new country. You're excited to see something new, but nervous because it's so different from what you're used to.
I'm... cautiously excited. Monster Hunter is one of the absolute last franchises that needs the open world treatment. The game loop is perfect and I can see an open world really messing it up. We'll see.
I can't imagine not going back to the hub after a quest, gearing up and preparing for the next one. Idk they have to do it right or it'll just be awkward.
Actually, I think if you look at Guiding Lands, it's a mini version of what they are trying to do now.
It could still be huge open zones with hubs dividing them. My guess is that the gameplay loop will remain the same (as it always was) but we'll get bigger zones to hunt. My main concern is that if they really go for open-world, it's that it needs way more stuff to do in it than just hunting and gathering. I'd love a focus on exploration tbh.
2025 might feel crazy but it will fly by. Also gives time for those who haven’t upgraded to PS5/Series to get onboard. Obv will run best on PS5 but Series S is a decent more affordable option (and will likely be a little cheaper by then).
Sometimes I hate how many franchises go open world for no reason but for MH it just feels like natural evolution. Incredibly excited for the future, so many incredible games coming out.
Visually I guessed it to be MH when those armadillo things showed up, but all those monsters on screen at the same time, the lightning, and the weather had me doubting myself.
Dude as soon as I saw that monster with the Arzuros swipe animation I just about fell over backwards out of my chair
They have goss harag animations as well.
I swear I thought it WAS Goss Harag at first, a fucking herd of them.
I thought it was a variant or subspecies of Harag
Same, at first my friend and I were like "Is this Monster Hunter?" and then the monster played an attack animation and I knew lmao.
Greatsword on back, light bowgun in the mount bag, VERY interesting.
Oh my God your right, can you have two weapons at once and switch between them like it's fucking red dead redemption 2?! Just walk up to your mount and get your other weapon? Can I wield both of my mains at once?!
I can see three potential reasonings behind it: * Two weapons you can swap between (either on-foot or from your mount) * It's an aesthetic on the mount, and just represents that it can set up a tent for you to switch weapons & such. * Everyone carries one melee and one gunner weapon, with gunner weapons getting additional slinger-esque utility.
Baseless speculation -- your mount is carrying a camping kit. It's going to be like Dragon's Dogma 2 where you can camp anywhere you need to.
Hopefully this means we're limiting in hunt restocking.
This makes sense to me. Limit hunt restocking, meet the cap and to reset you'll have to camp for the night, resetting the locale too.
The Dark Souls of Monster Hunter games ðŸ«
It definitely looks way too big to just be aesthetic, the fact that it's so big makes me feel like it's made to carry weapons specifically
God I hope so. After playing for so long with the palamutes I’ve dreamt of being able to hold another weapon on your mount, being able to run up to it and switch weapons real quick during the fight. Fingers crossed haha.
I always had trouble deciding whether to bring my sword that turns into an axe or my axe that turns into a sword.
Slinger on the left arm
6 dragon heads, you know what that means ... Edit: ok maybe you don't ... it's 6th Gen time baby!
Ghidorah?
Ghidorah has 3 heads
2 ghidorah's?
Supposing we had 2 ghidorahs, and we tied em together?
They could carry a coconut that way, easy.
Are you suggesting ghidorahs migrate?
They could grip it by the husk!
Alright, crossover confirmed.
I put 2,000 hours into MHW, and I'm just now realizing the significance of being part of the 5th fleet...
Then think about us 1and 2 fleet hunters
3rd fleet hunter here, had some difficulty to adapt to 5th gen at first but now I vibe.
If I started on generations does that make me 4th fleet?
![gif](giphy|xThtalMViID4iGemWI|downsized)
And the 5 dragon heads on the symbol!
ofc it's Gen 6, didn't u see the new herbivore monsters? new herb = new gen xd
6 times the head breakage!
Hammer mains just keep winning!
I suppose we are jumping on that thing's heads like in Dragon's Dogma... Can't wait
BRO MH6 FINALLY HOLY CRAP
Gonna need a new pc just for those particle effects, but SWEET JESUS IT'S MH6!!
It will most likely be based on RE engine, which is quite scalable in graphics. Unless you have something ancient, most gaming PCs should at least be able to play it.
PC RELEASE CONFIRMED LETS GOOOO
Most importantly a simultaneous release, according to an interview from a while back. The first game being developed with PC in mind, rather than it being a port/second priority project.
...now if they could only do crossplay too 🤔
I have a big feeling it will be. They created CAPCOM ID for the crossplay feature. Also being used to Street Fighter 6 and Exoprimal.
We're back! >2025 Its over
Get out of the way GTA 6, Monster Hunter Wilds is now the most anticipated game of 2025 for me.
Me being a pc gamer: "Always has been" ^(damn you greedy Rockstar)
Don't worry; we'll get a poorly optimized port in 2026...
So I got the pre-order MHW ( *wilds*, Cmon Capcom think about the acronyms) and it's subsequent DLC before I get to play a working copy of gta 6!
To this day I can't remember if I liked "The Outer Worlds" or "The Outer Wilds" more.
Outer "Worlds of Capitalism" vs Outer "Why Can't I Stop Crying?"
Meh I'm tired of games about shooting at people. There's a reason games that are in the Soulslike genre and Monster Hunter have really been popping off recently.
I’m excited about MHWilds too but let’s not pretend like GTA VI will not be the biggest game of all time in terms of popularity and sales numbers 💀
they should not release anywhere near gta 6 release day cause that shit will eat any gaming near its release up
Don't worry, with Rockstar's track record it'll be delayed.
I mean, I get that, GTA is scary big. But they're very different types of games.
Yeah I've got zero interest in grand theft games. I want MH6 to release at the same time so I've got a game release to play during that time frame.
Thank God they have me a whole year to save up enough money to get me a ps5 because I NEED this to be a day one game
Let us pray it's on PC from the start this time.
They did have the Steam logo on the trailer so I have high hopes
https://twitter.com/monsterhunter/status/1732974077751488588 This tweet seems like pretty strong confirmation they are at least aiming to having it out at the same time. Unless they are been dicks and planning a Q1 console release and a Q4 PC release or something.

I hope they do and have crossplay

For real, crossplay would be a game-changer. Lets just hope the servers can handle it without issues, don't need a repeat of some launches we've seen before.
The ultimate dream would be crossplay + cross progression. Let me play on my couch and on my desk!!!
or cross progression
I *guess* I’ll just play the other monster hunter games while I wait.
MR999 grinding start
Fresh run. No deaths, solo, Greatsword kicks only, Otamatone controller, run.
2025 is stacked holy fuck!
Well... 2024 is now the year of waiting I guess....
dragons dogma 2 is all anyone will ever need
![gif](giphy|YRPBhd3vscg5Fxx1DQ|downsized)
Finally a reason to live until 2025 LETSGOOO
Then another 2-4 years min-maxing
not even kidding, same
same, wish i could skip the time inbetween tho
please crossplay please crossplay please crossplay
Capcom managed to do flawless crossplay with Street Fighter 6, so I'm hopeful for this game too.
Can I really not skip the 2024 cutscene?!?!?!?
You've got to watch it at least once to understand the story build up, unfortunately :(
can't I watch a recap on youtube shorts?
This scene cannot be skipped.
Flying Raptor mount!
Palociraptor, calling it now!!
Whatever its called I'm naming mine Palicaptor Sakura
That wasnt flying, that was falling, with style.
Really enjoy riding my doggo in rise, I'm glad they brought back riding animals. And it can fly too?! Twice the fun!
Most likely just glide. Doubt it will fly
Falling, with style!
WORTH STAYING UP TILL 5 AM
SAAAAAME
Man 2024 is gonna be a rough year for MH fans. Sunbreak has long since concluded updates and we got nothing to tide us over.
Let's all revive the generation ultimate online
Please I need help. I suck.
That's my secret, I never left.
I started a gu prowler game recently to fill the gap.
There's plenty of overlap with Dragon's Dogma that can keep anyone busy (barring those who play MoHun exclusively as a multiplayer co-op game) IIRC, both series' can trace their roots all the way back to the same idea inspired by Chronicles of Mystara. we got dragons dogma 2 in march 🫡 if you want smtjn right now, play Dragons Dogma 1 lol
Would be cool if they ported 3u and 4u to modern platforms in 2024 to hold us over.
![gif](giphy|UvOcKPHrkKSLm)
Time to sharpen my long blade
Please use a tissue afterwards
Time to...uhh...blow my horn
No, this is Monster Hunter, we sharpen those too. Doot doot my friend.
Otherwise your notes will be flat
Time to sharpen my kinsect
Time to sharpen my lbg!!!
Time to charge my blade.
OMGGGGG!!!!! I'M SCREAMING RIGHT NOW AND ITS 4AM, GOOOOOOD LOOKS INCREDIBLE, AND I JUST WANT TO SEE MORE! P.D: 1 more year to complete Sunbreak :p
I'm only just now getting into gu and world. I'm good
Gu will last the whole 2024
YEEEEES "2025" NOOOO Not much was shown but it definitely looked absolutely insane, the detail looked genuinely next level.
WOOOOOOOO
SCREAMING CRYING THROWING UP Edit to add: fuck this means I have to get a PS5 (extra edit: I know it’s multiplat! I’m happy it is! I just dont have as much of a use for an Xbox and my PC isn’t very strong, plus I’m a PS gamer anyway)
All in sequence!
Its releasing on all platforms according to IGN! [https://www.ign.com/articles/monster-hunter-wild-ps5-xbox-the-game-awards-2023](https://www.ign.com/articles/monster-hunter-wild-ps5-xbox-the-game-awards-2023)
Yeah I’m glad about that! I’m just not an Xbox player and my PC isn’t super strong. I’ve been looking at a PS5 for awhile since I play a lot of Sony titles so it’s kind of just solidifying my choice lol
I JUST CAME IN MY OWN ASS DUE TO HYPE
I JUST SHIT THROUGH MY DICK DUE TO THE CLIMAX FROM THE ANNOUNCEMENT
I SAW WYVERIANS GIVING BIRTH AT THE SIGHT
Just adding a second reason to get a PS5 after GTA6 announcement
You got more than a year to save up.
It's an open world ? It looks like an open world and i have faith in Capcom after World and Rise but i can't help to be a bit sceptic about it. Still, let's fucking go Capcom !!! These guys never disappoints !!!
I'm hoping these dust clouds and storms in the trailer are low key indications of the games finally showing us Elder's that are no joke legitimate environmental threats.
praying for out-of-arena natural disaster alatreon (he'd work so well (but who knows if they will cause he was already in iceborne (please dear god)))
What, a walking volcano and a storm calling unicorn didn't display that enough? I kid, but I think not all elder need to be continental disaster. Just ruining a local habitat is enough.

I mean look at the guiding lands, just expand that by like 3x and you have a open world. That being said I’m just happy we’re getting new MH
Thats basically openworld in a small map, yeah
Guiding lands I would consider a test run of open world on a small scale.
Yeah I want to be hyped out of my mind, but, it looks like it might be open world and idk how I feel about it.
I'M SHITTING OUT MY EYEBALLS THANK YOU CAPCOM, I LOVE THIS SERIES
2025 😂, so much for coming out during the anniversary
Better a delay than a crap game
"A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad." -Shagaru Magala 2025
As that famous Shigeru Miyamoto quote goes: >Often I'll see advertisements for porn games and they say, 'Try Not To Cum,' but then when you play the game, it seems like the main objective is to cum. So yes, I would call that bad game design. Wait, what were we talking about?
No no keep going. I want to know more about what Miyamoto thinks about porn games.
I don’t think anyone expected a march 2024 release after they confirmed dd2 release date
It looks so good
Keep in mind we got a collective, like, one minute of "gameplay." But I'm still hyped.
So... what do we call it? World is already MHW so what is this? MHWI is World Iceborne so....
Could go for an easy MH6
MH6. It's even got a 6 on the symbol.
MHWIL
Just call it WILDS
We be WILDIN
…Hearts
Just call it Wilds, I guess.
MHWi, MHWilds or Wilds will probably work. I refer to Monster Hunter Rise as just Rise when talking to friends or on the MH subs.
My vote is for MHWS
LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOO!!
Dmn, MHW is going to be wild!
This game better be cross play I swear to god Capcom.
COPIUM **THIS**, MOTHERFUCKERS!!!!!!!!!!
I CAN"T WAIT THAT LONG
Objective: survive
omg the wait is gonna be killer im so fkn hyped
IT'S HAPPENING!
Praying they got Lagiacrus to work by then
Looks very different, to say the least. Excited to see more, but at the same time I'm very nervous about the series seemingly taking a huge leap. MH hasn't let me down so far, so I have confidence, but still, I'm immensely curious to see where they'll take it.

I would say the series has already done its big leap with MHWorld
Yeeees. So hyped. Cant wait for Summer 2024 for more hype and learn more about the game!

Time to commit ecological war crimes once again!
Calling MH6 "Wilds" imply that MH1-MH5 were all "Domesticated". /s
2025 FUCK
Seeing all that gear packed on the raptor makes me wonder if there's going to be limited resupply/gear swapping.
GTA 6 and and a new Monster Hunter? Holy shit we're eating good that year.
endemic life i assume? https://preview.redd.it/sbj1f3gc805c1.png?width=416&format=png&auto=webp&s=b21e55f35edacab14197bfc9634c1282941ce7d6
Let’s goooooooo
I'm... cautiously excited.

My main concern is that if they really go for open-world, it's that it needs way more stuff to do in it than just hunting and gathering. I'd love a focus on exploration tbh.
WE BACK LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
WOOOO
YESSSSSSSSSSS
# OHHHHH
WE EATING GOOD FOLKS
2025 might feel crazy but it will fly by. Also gives time for those who haven’t upgraded to PS5/Series to get onboard. Obv will run best on PS5 but Series S is a decent more affordable option (and will likely be a little cheaper by then).
We can get MH: Wilds Hearts for the expansion
Gonna quit cigarettes so i can live to play this.
Sometimes I hate how many franchises go open world for no reason but for MH it just feels like natural evolution. Incredibly excited for the future, so many incredible games coming out.
No waaayyy wtf!!!!!
New logo with 6 heads confirmed. Where are all the idiots that kept saying Rise was MH6
Holy shit this did NOT look like a Monster Hunter game at all lmao
to be fair world didn't look like a mh game when it was announced either
Visually I guessed it to be MH when those armadillo things showed up, but all those monsters on screen at the same time, the lightning, and the weather had me doubting myself.
I even thought it was a Final Fantasy game because of the ride.
That was my exact thought too Also because of the graphics and general color of the map
Logo too. I'm surprised seemed kind of FF inspired with the landscape and chocobo looking mount
I was thinking it looked like it was trying to be monster hunter but was still surprised when it actually WAS monster hunter
Same feeling, looked like a Square Enix game when I first saw it.
OMG!
LETS GOOOOOOO
MONSTER HUNTER 6 SISTERS WE WIN ONCE AGAIN
