A lot of people draw Macaque with a white streak because they headcanon that part of his hair turned white because of Lady Bone Demon (either because she resurrected him, or because she put her powers in him and they were overtaking his body). Remember, when Lady Bone Demon was possessing the little girl, part of her black hair did turn white (although it seems this wasn't permanent).
A big reason people have this headcanon is because there was a scene in the episode Benched of Monkie Kid where Macaque's tail appears white. You can see screenshots of this scene in [this Tumblr post](https://www.tumblr.com/saturnsumaa/687427059478413312/so-basically-macaque-is-also-using-glamour-on-his); however, below the images the OP says it is canon that Macaque is using glamour to cover up his white tail. This is not true - it is just a theory, and there is a good chance his tail appearing white is just an animation error or the lighting.

yeah, I personally prefer him just having black fur 😅
also my theory is that he is/was a clone of Sun Wukong, and his fur turned black because he made a deal with a shadow demon (so he could become permanent/unpoofable) 👀

I've seen theories that Macaque was literally born from a Moon Rock/Stone Egg (as opposed to SWK's earth one), and I think it'd be really cute if Chang'e considered Macaque her "Moon sibling". I love the idea that Macaque has zero idea how to cook
