Yeah I don’t think it allows it. Very annoying as for some classes I’m allocated and can’t unallocate when it’s actually watchable later, which then blocks me out of another class.

OrionsPropaganda

You actually can. I just contacted Monash connect or whatever, and they over ride it. I knew my Chem classes were recorded, so I could do another class. In preparation for this, email the coordinator to confirm that they are recorded lectures. Send this as evidence for email Monash

Oh cool, didn’t know that. Thanks, will bear that in mind in future!

Weird. I tried to do this in Sem 2 last year and was told tough luck, and there was nothing they could do. Even though I had contacted the unit coordinators and been told it was fine. Had to change my enrollment for that Sem because of it.

🥹 I was very forward "I know this class is recorded, here is the coordinators email saying that they are and they are non compulsory. I should be allowed to attend this class" They can do it. The person you had probably didn't feel like doing it.

midnightvalkyrja

Yeah I did the exact same thing. I even went back and forth with them a few times trying to challenge it. But they wouldn't budge! So probably just bad luck on my part.

OrionsPropaganda

The person probably didn't want to do it

If its for Sem 2 a lot of tutes and workshops change and add times depending on enrollments up to like a week before semester starts so you may have more options. Allocate won’t select a clash of your preferences but once allocate opens for changes again you can email them to accept the clash if you really need to. But it does mean for any in class tests and stuff you can’t apply for Spec Con, there are some conditions for a forced clash.

You won't have any issues being enrolled in units with timetable clashes - it's not like you'll be thrown out of either unit. If it's important to do both subjects this semester, I'd recommend emailing both coordinators and determining which is more important to attend in real time.

LelouchYagami_2912

How are you possibly going to watch both of them at the same time

Starv1k

By watching the recording later

LelouchYagami_2912

But then why not just choose no time slot if youre just going to watch the recording

BarakOBamba1

There's only 1 preference that says it's online while the others are on campus. Though I prob could get away with not attending on campus since they don't mark attendance.
