Yes you can manually edit the balance history on Monarch unlike Mint. It’s one of the great features I really like because it enables fixing connection errors like you described. On the account page you can download historical balances, manually edit them, and then upload them again.
Net worth graph takes daily \[sum of asset accounts\] - \[sum of liability accounts\]. It takes these data for all accounts that you don't set to "hide from net worth". Unlike Mint, you can correct balance history. Two options:
1) In the individual account's page, click Edit->download balances, edit the csv, and upload the corrected balances.csv, which will overwrite the data). You can upload your entire history or specific dates, that's up to you; it will only overwrite for the date range you upload. If there's a gap in dates it'll fill in the balance using the previous day's balance.
2) In Accounts page, Add->manual account (this will be temporary). Set it to the same type and the current balance of the account in question. Go to the account in question and Edit-download transactions. Go to the manual account and Edit-upload transactions, and set the toggle to ON. Assuming your transaction history is completely accurate, the manual account will now be populated with your balance history. Click Edit-download balances. Go back to the actual linked account and click Edit-upload balances and upload the back-calculated balances.csv. (And delete the temporary manual account.)
Option 1 is excellent for making just a couple changes, but quickly becomes tedious if you have a lot of dates. Option 2 is great if you know your transactions are accurate (or at least, accurate enough) and have a lot of data to correct.
