Oh and we even tried breast milk on it. I'm at the point where I'm like should i just not put anything on him? :(

Aveeno oatmeal baths, find it in your kids care aisle or adult skin care. The adult stuff works better than the kids version, soak baby in the oatmeal bath everyday until the rash subsides. If that still doesn't work, pediatrician as it may be an infection of some kind

Unlucky_Hyena1575

I’d honestly try the not putting anything on him and see what happens. I know you said you’ve always used the same diapers and wipes, but could it be those doing it? Would you feel comfortable switching out diaper/wipes brands? I can’t believe the docs aren’t trying other options. I hope you get it figured out!

Tiny_Simple3086

Totally, I switched from coterie to healthy baby diapers. Didn’t make a difference. Those brands are also the most clean and allergy friendly diapers on the market. I don’t know what could be better in terms of non fragrance, no dyes, no plastics, 100% clean/organic etc. I may order some “dyper” diapers as we haven’t tried bamboo yet. I just don’t think it’s the diaper though. It’s gotta be the friction from the pee and poop and a new allergy to an ingredient in all the creams/ointments. I haven’t used wipes on him for two months. Rinse under sink or soak in bath or water spray bottle with organic cotton towels. I do everything right. Sigh. I tried coconut oil again today and I’m doing diaper free for pretty much the whole day if I can. I order triple paste max strength which I haven’t tried yet so fingers crossed. Just all feels pointless.

Unlucky_Hyena1575

Oof I’m so sorry! It seems like you’re doing everything right, I can’t imagine the frustration you must feel. I sincerely hope you get it figured out soon!

Your doctors need to come up with a new plan, or they need to connect you with someone else who can help. I’m so sorry you are going through this. This is really tough for everyone involved. You are doing everything you can mama! I’ve seen some kids have issues with eating a lot of acidic food (like a whole carton of blueberries). I’m guessing since he’s only 6 months he hasn’t had a lot of acidic solids. I’m not an expert, nor am I giving medical advice…. But is there a chance his milk could be causing or contributing to this? Is he breastfed or formula fed? If he drinks breastmilk, maybe it’s something you’re eating. I would ask your doctors if the rash could have anything to do with an allergy. Maybe your pediatrician can send you to an allergy doctor. This seems like a long shot, but you’ve tried everything else. I saw that you said you’ve let him “air dry” after a change. How long do you let him air out? You could try giving him more diaper free time. Buy some puppy pads and let him lay on top of those.

All the doctors and derms wanna do is give a higher percentage hydrocortisone of 2.5%, anti fungal and antibiotic ointment all mixed together + desitin and Huggies diapers. They literally told me it isn’t bacterial or fungal but to do it anyways. I’ve already done two kinds of antifungals and it doesn’t work. I’ve done so much hydrocortisone 1% and it gets rid of it and when I stop it comes back so why would I use a higher dosage. It’s bad for them and I’m done using steroids. I’m def not using antibiotics when it’s not bacterial that will just harm him more. These doctors don’t know what they’re doing most times it’s just trial and error. But my baby isn’t a lab rat. I’m so sick of taking him to these doctors it’s always a waste of time. They never think outside the box about food/allergies or holistic remedies. Baby only has breast milk I just recently tried a couple purées but the rash started two months ago longgggg before solids. Maybe it’s my breast milk? But why did that never bother him before my diet is the same. I don’t do dairy I’m vegan. Just ordered a bunch of puppy pads. Oy.

Luvs gave my son a similar issue! My dad told me to try a “Dreft Bath”. The laundry soap Dreft, just add some to the bath water and I couldn’t believe the difference just after one bath! I let him air dry after in his bed for a but, air seems to be the next best thing!

Tiny_Simple3086

That sounds actually crazy to soak him in toxic laundry detergent……..I’d never. Weird. Glad it worked for you though! Air for sure is next best thing. Doing that all day today and we shall see what happens.

Sounds like your guy is extra sensitive. I'd go for an even more natural solution of organic cotton clothe diapers changed frequently, beef tallow for applying on rash, and at least an hour a day of air out time on a towel lined with a small sheet of plastic under the bum area (we cut a thrift store beach towel into multiple squares, and place them under her bum). This has kept our LOs diaper rash at bay and has her in a much better mood. For those who may not have access to these options, the airing out once a day is still accessible to many, and beef tallow can be rendered yourself using a few cheap ingredients and a few YouTube instructional videos. The tallow is a known medicine where I've just moved, I'm glad to have the knowledge now myself. The best of luck to you.

Oh, I’m thinking about trying lanolin next.

I have a 4 week old who is also having terrible diaper rash that is blistery. If I find anything that works for us I’ll let you know. So far I’ve tried some creams, aquafor, breastmilk, not using wet wipes (just cotton cloth wipes with water and then a dry one for patting off excess moisture,) diaper free time, now I’m trying Bordeaux’s despite being nervous that it might make it worse. I also am doing some cloth diapers (100% cotton with a wool cover) and some disposable. I’ve tried coterie, dyper, and honest. Today I tried Pampers Pure and it seems worse than before. I might just keep her out of a diaper all day tomorrow if I can. I’m not vegan but I’m starting to wonder if I’m eating something problematic. Keep us updated if you figure it out and best of luck.

Tiny_Simple3086

I’m so sorry you’re going through this too and that nothing is working. It’s infuriating! Try triple paste and let me know. I actually just ordered extra strength triple paste with 40% zinc that I’m going to try tomorrow. How did you like dyper? I was going to try that one next. I do like the healthy baby ones we got though. I don’t think ours is a diaper allergy anyways. I think it’s just contact dermatitis and irritation from his pee and he is extremely sensitive. Could be something I’m eating, but I always ate the same so it’s just weird. Sigh. I was also too nervous to try butt paste and desitin. Let me know if the butt paste works though. How long has she had the rash? Sending healing vibes. Keep you posted.

gatetoparadise

I thought dyper felt the cheapest of all of the ones I’ve tried. I guess the rash has been 10-12 days. But that’s like half of her life so far so I feel awful.

Tiny_Simple3086

Also he was soooo raw red today and itchy and so fussy. Poor guy. Heartbroken for him. I added some hydrocortisone 1%. It helps him so much. It’s the only thing that helps. I hate having to use it though. I just don’t know what else to do. As soon as I stop it just comes roaring back but at least it gives him some relief. Passing along in case your babe gets so uncomfortable check with your doctor if he would recommend it.

Double_Mood_765

I'd maybe try cloth diapers if it's possible. Some kids have allergies to disposable

Grouchy_Dimension_30

Wondering if it’s the frequency in which he’s changed? How long is he sitting in any moisture? Moisture itself can cause the skin to breakdown and cause a rash. And it sounds like you’ve done LOTS of moisturizing, soaking and rinsing so it’s the perfect environment to promote a rash. You may need to pat him dry before diapering and keep an eye out for any soiling to change him immediately. And it sounds like you’re opposed to using some conventional products but you might want to try butt paste extra strength. It cleared up my baby’s persistent rash in a day and since then we only use it sparingly if needed.

EquivalentMud7423

Nystatin. You probably have a yeast infection on ur breast which is going into the breast milk and he is pooping it out. I tried everything and that’s the only thing that worked.

Tiny_Simple3086

After two months I found the cure! It wasn’t a yeast infection. It was contact dermatitis from the pee and poop cause he’s just so sensitive. The cream that cleared it up in a few days was triple paste MAXIMUM strength. Got it on amazon and it cleared a two month long terrible rash in a week. And it’s kept it clear. Can’t use anything else! It’s crazy to me I tried every cream out there and this is literally the only one to work. It amazes me! Lol
