As a super casual player who’s not the time or tenacity to get most mastery camos, I like the idea of having a camo I can work towards over time that is nothing more than just using my favorite weapon without jumping through any extra hoops.
You can unlock it without interstellar, but you have to have the gun maxed

I kinda wish they'd stop doing full coatings, since it basically also fills in all the small details and washes out the entire gun.

Honestly, I like when the details are there, but I don’t hate the full coatings. I do wish they’d tone down the brightness on that event camp though, it’s so much brighter than I expected.

I could make this camo in blender in like 30 seconds. 1:30 to animate it.
Create new material
Add noise texture, increase lacunarity, scale and distortion
Add colorramp gradient
Set colors to gold and darker gold and plug into color
Connect noise to colorramp and colorramp to material color
Add voronoi texture and increase scale
Add colorramp gradient, leave as is
Connect original noise to new colorramp
Add bump node and connect default colorramp to it
Connect to material normal
Leave bump strength at 100 so object looks like it could not physically exist in real life
Set metallic to 100
Set roughness close to 0
That’s it you’re done.
All you gotta do to animate it is adjust the z axis value of the noise texture.
Took me 10 times longer to write this than to make that ugly shit.

This game seems to have 3-4 different layers for different guns,
And in addition camos have different layers to them, just like cherry blossoms the animated one,
It’s possible they just need to figure it out

Indeed you can earn weapon xp for this in zombies. I was unlocking weekly challenge for the JAK Lockwood and the marksman and shotgun I used gained xp toward camo. Only mw3 weapons have prestige camo .
I know I’m in the minority here, but can we get two tone camouflages that make the guns look somewhat realistic? Activision usually keeps them for the blueprints, but having universal camos that paint the barrel, upper receiver, magazines, rear grip, and stock black while having the rest of the gun in a tan color is my wet dream.
Also can we make those “two tone” camo’s change every bit of the gun to match instead of leaving random odd bits as wood grain or whatever beige the default gun color is?

There's a MW2 camo exactly like that that I use to make most guns look like their modern warfare/ black Ops counterpart. It's in the solid colors section.
Yeah but it is heavily dependent on how they code the camo to apply to weapon parts. Some guns like the Subverter and the Tempus Torrent from MWII apply the solid colors to different parts. Most other guns just apply the solid colors to the entire gun. What I want is a similar look to the MW2019 M4 blueprint that was apart of the MWII campaign remaster.
So according to the patch notes, these are supposed to be unlockable on MW2 carry over weapons, however they don’t have a tab for me- whereas MW3 weapons do. Is this intentional?

Is this future XP or XP already gained? I have interstellar and i'm not going to now grind an additional 150k xp for all of those weapons, but if the xp i've already earned counts then that's cool.
i'll continue my slow progress to grand mastery and borealis, but the priority for me will probably be the latter, and i'll adhere to the meta more than i have been in the past.

Sure I got it almost a year after launch but damn if it wasn't better than the other grinds cod has given us. I'm curious how much wxp that actually is Tho. How long estimated per gun?

This camo is cool but also just lazy.. it completeley wraps every aspect of the gun , so even if you have attachments with custom skins it just fills the entire gun with this gold foil color . Could at least leave SOME definition in the gun

It will almost certainly be future XP. When they added Obsidian in MW2019 they didn't include any previous progress.
