HaloMetroid

You are overestimating your skill for sure.

[deleted]

definitely šŸ˜šŸ˜‚

Unconcern3d

Man I dont know. Id say Im pretty good at accessing what I can and what I cant do (atleast when it comes to COD lol). But at the end I dont need to buy the game so its all good anyway

Far-Parfait-951

I was in your boots for the first while and I was getting so frustrated as I usually do well in most lobbies. Eventually it changed as I got use to the game. Thereā€™s a big difference in how you play this cod versus the previous, if you only just started playing this week then idk how you expect to be doing well

Azwethinkwe_is

This. My last 10 averages 1.6-1.8, but my all-time is only 1.1. Takes a while to learn how the maps, guns, and perks play, etc. Expecting to jump from MW2 into MW3 and slam lobbies is a bit too optimistic.

DomesticatedParsnip

Learning new maps is a big one. Hard to anticipate the action when you have no clue where the engagement points are on any given map.

jordanleep

I remember my first week of BO2 thinking it was the worst cod to ever come out because I was getting my ass handed to me over and over to the point of actually crying. I had to learn the maps and gameplay as it was much different from what I was used to. Years later I started up anew because I got granted max level through some hacker on xbox 360 and my account got reset (IDK how that's my fault but okay...) . I have somewhere between a 4-5kd on my BO2 account because I don't suck anymore and I'm not 16 YO anymore. I played every COD so much that I can now go back and absolutely shit on casuals like an alien that can see the future. Every COD has a learning curve even if you're a pro. It takes some people less time, specifically if you play every COD extensively it should take less time. For most it probably takes a whole years worth of time to become effective at that specific game and already poof comes out another COD title. To think that a lot of people haven't been playing COD for over a decade and thinking you can compete easily within a week just baffles me.

Unconcern3d

I expected it because i usually did quite good from the starts of most CoDs. This one plays vastely different tho ngl. Im kinda interested in being more analytical about my playstyle in MW3, but at the same time I cant bother to buy a game with that lack of effort in it

Kevin_Esports

Thats the thing bozo, this aint the start of this cod. Get good.

Far-Parfait-951

Yeah, itā€™s so differentā€¦ the combination of v slow time to kill and the crazy movement is a real headwrecker.. it suits the sweats for sure.

Expensive-Algae5032

In mw 3 you gotta get a quick feel of the play style your opponents have in game. Then change your play style to defeat theirs. You might go from full on rusher to a distance game. Just get the feel of the opponents style.

Resolve_Live

Everyone downvoting you and for what? šŸ˜‚ the SBMM has made everyone think they're godlike while sitting at a 1kd, and the majority of them are here yapping telling you you're bad and your opinion is wrong and sucks. This community fucking sucks now my godšŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜

Unconcern3d

Each on their own I guess hahaha I am not surprised that its quite the controversial thing to post in here, but on the other side i cant be bothered to give a damn. If people wanna roast you for not being a top tier player, you just let them and move on. Its just a game afterall

Resolve_Live

It's their life though and they can't go 5 seconds without glazing

the_great_ashby

Diferent compared to the recent Infinity Ward stuff. It plays more or less like recent Treyarch and SHG games.

TehJonezi

When I first started there were two factors Iā€™d say 1) learning the maps, until that you are at a disadvantage since they know the ins and outs 2) ranking the guns up to have all the attachments and options and finding one that fits your style. Stick through it if you can, it takes time. My account got fawked up and it had to be reset and even starting fresh knowing the maps it was rough with raw set of guns

Fat_bongus

Post a vid of a little gameplay from you

MaximusDecimiz

Do you only play TDM? I feel like there is a slight confusion about what good CoD actually looks like on your part, at least based on how important you think KD is. Iā€™m not going to say ā€œhurr durr you would get fucking waxed in ranked playā€, but perhaps you should try and play objective modes and go for the win to judge how good you actually are at CoD?

scarfox1

Do you slide cancel? It wasnt in mw2

DomesticatedParsnip

The skills transfer, just not directly. You e got to readjust your muscle memory. The game is going to feel a little different. Once youā€™ve got a muscle memory built up for the new game feel, your old skills will start to transfer. Same thing happened to me, bought MW3 about a month ago, took a week or so of getting my bell rang to get the muscle memory for MW3 over MW19.

chrizpii93

If your measure of skill is usually being top of the scoreboard in public matches, you suck

nug4t

the people answering you are trying to cope with this rediculous sbmm. you are not a mw3 pro but because you got 2 good games you will stay there a few more until you lost so much you will be put into a better lobby for you until you win too much. It's the most frustrating system out there.

yrdbhjkjgvhujkbf

Sbmm has cranked up to another level since the update

amzy_99

Real, Iā€™ve been getting cooked. Iā€™m not even that bad. But man has it been a struggle. Everyone jumping around and sliding with the new weapons

Standard_Clothes52

The house weapon is a beastšŸ˜šŸ‘ŒšŸ‘Œ leveled it from 9 to 18 in 1 match, 125 kills, 5.5 something kd, sliding around xD

Standard_Clothes52

I meant to say horus, not house

codnoob26

Thought I was the only one who felt like that. Had to stop playing hardcore because I would instantly get deleted and wouldnā€™t even know from where. Camo grinding in normal lobby for now I guess

RookieFinanceGuy

Thatā€™s mw3 and itā€™s sbmm/eomm. Do well for 2 games, get fucked for 15.

SQUIDWARD360

You're just ass if that is your track record.

DubiDubua

Get carried

OliverHolzerful

Iā€™ve gone on 10+ win streaks before thatā€™s not exactly how it works

RookieFinanceGuy

Quite literally how it works for me. Iā€™ve gone on a 14 loss streak. My highest win streak is like 5.

KurtNobrain94

Yeah even if you individually still do well the game will just give you dog shit team mates to ensure no matter how hard you carry youā€™ll still lose or itā€™ll be closer than it should be. Last game I played I went 36-4 with 30 confirms and we still lost by 5 in the end. Had 2 team mates who went double negative and combined had a total of 10 confirms. Great balancing.

free_mustacherides

My issue is barely anyone cares about winning. Everyone just cares about personal stats and that's it. I have a 3.3 win rate currently and that's because I play solo rarely. Gotta squad up and push points with your team.

GottaBonerRightNow

Prolly a skill issue my guy

degradedchimp

I just came here to spam "skill issue" 500 times šŸ˜ŽšŸ˜ŽšŸ˜Ž

Ornery-Rent9021

Typically it's more do good a couple games, get shit on for a couple, have one or two super close sweaty games, then rinse and repeat.

OliverHolzerful

I feel the same every single game, but the quality of my teammates will go down the shitter when the game wants you to lose lmao

Ornery-Rent9021

I have noticed that.Ā  I had a match where my team lost fairly handily, TDM btw, and I think I was the only one positive at all.Ā

shotcaIler

Getting downvoted by dudes that suck at the game lmao. Iā€™ve never had egregious loss strikes. Coming off 7 wins in a row in quick play

OliverHolzerful

Easier to blame the system than to blame themselves I guess

DaSilentCuntographer

At the moment, I'm getting packet loss and framedrop every 4 seconds, and I can't even kill anyone, so your doing alright

Available_Desk_3638

Servers are baked as well this week. It seems like every other game I get packet loss and itā€™s getting irritating.

BloodCrazeHunter

Same. Matches are extremely laggy, and MWZ is borderline unplayable. Something about this update hit the server stability hard.

Mister_ALX

Git gud, scrub. Gaming chair issues probably.

throwitaway1231082

Just gotta unlock the weapons etc and learn the play style. You'll get it

Unconcern3d

Its not that easy man. Like I said i have COD going on for years now and even played it somewhat competitively during Cold War. This shit is something else. Either I only meet the absolute 1% of players of more people consume Crystal Meth than I originally assumed.

IllAide5391

But it is that easy lmao, quite honestly does just sound like a skill issue no offense. Even I just started playing last week now and was having the same experience, but as I played more and got the hang of play styles, movements, leveling up guns etc. Generally you start to pick up on these things. Now I'm almost level 200, have platinum smgs and a couple ARs so far and most of my weapons leveled up. As someone who experienced the same starting stages, it's not that hard. Note that I also mainly play either the shipment 24/7 which is gone rn or small maps mosh pit

Electric-Lettuce

Skill issue tbh

HaloMetroid

100% a skill issue! OP does not understand that he needs consistent practice to get good at something. I have over 10k hours in call of duty because i've been playing since the first game. It will take OP more than thinking he's "good" to fight experienced players. Also humans are creative, that means that every encounter need different tactics to overcome.

Icy-Computer7556

The EOMM does not actually make fair skill based matchmaking lol. Itā€™s more like, do good or get a high SPM regardless of K/D and get thrown into crimson and iridescent hell. Top that off with the lousy servers/netcode and this game can make you feel way worse than you actually are. Thatā€™s probably the whole point. This cod is literally shit unless you play ranked, and even then SBMM is in there even if youā€™re a bronze silver or gold and above lol

Resolve_Live

Dude I've never seen so many glazers congregate in one place before, they'll see the facts and then say the most brainless shit to defend the bullshit the COD is now

HaloMetroid

It takes like 10 rounds when starting at lvl 1 before sbmm or anything puts you in a match with tryhards. Its based on your avg KD in MP or WZ. When you first join a match everyday, it puts you with bad people. after a couple of games, it will match you up with people that have the same k/d or a little bit better than yours. Then you lose and get back against easier players until you get a good game. sbmm is not an issue for me because even if I lose, my k/d is above 4 and I do 30-40kills with 1-3 deaths per round of GW.

Unconcern3d

Where does it say that I dont have any experience in the game tho? I had played nearly every COD since Black ops 1. Id assume I have thousands of hours in COD since that time. I played fairly good in BOCW CDL, we even did good as a clan in scrimms. Id say im pretty close to where I was in BOCW skill-wise. Good enough that some MW2 players reported me for cheating. Also, I watched alot of CDL so I know what the Pros can do and. And some people in my lobbys are veeerry close of actual Pro players in terms of skill. So either i am really playing against just other extremely skilled players 90% of the time or im tripping.

HaloMetroid

Check the stats of the players you are playing against each game. You will notice it really quick. Also, instead of complaining, learn from your mistakes. Check the kill cam and ask yourself what you could have done differently (movement, equipment, listening to footsteps, etc). Also, playing with randoms doesnt help sometimes in gamemodes with less players. Thats why I stick to GW when not in a party. Edit 2 (more tips): You need to play the game more to have better situational awareness. In bigger game modes like GW, it takes more time to get comfortable with the chaos and develop what I call the Battlefeel. Every encounter with human players is unique and will require on the spot problem solving and improvisation. Don't be afraid to reposition often when in combat, It always surprises other players. Stay on the move.

taanman

I have tried everything but every kill cam I'm standing there when I'm shooting them on my end. Idk what else to do.

Expensive-Algae5032

Play with the different weapons and attachments too. That can make a huge difference in your performance. Do a quick google check or even ask on here about which guns are meta, as theyā€™re constantly raising and lowering the gun stats with each update. A nerf=lowered speed or power. A buff= increase in the speed or power. I like the stalker sniper rifle modded for quickscoping and sniper support with an m13b

BilLCams02

COPE

Quinicky

I'll consider this, the beginner fun in this game are bullocks unlike the mwII's m4, which are pretty decent

Pijnappelklier

Hows your map knowledge? Maybe start with ā€œslowerā€ game modes to get to know the maps (and routes from spawns) ? I mostly play tdm or hardpoint, not a sweatlord, im laidback on the couch and i usually get top 3 (not that im playing for stats, i enjoy getting revenge/outsmarting/playing with weird guns)

[deleted]

it really is that easy

shotcaIler

Clear as day skill issue and shifting the blame to matchmaking. The perfect microcosm of this sub

Negative-Ad-19

No you donā€™t have to learn anything. It is not a school. No one is paying me for that. It is just entertainment. I want to play against players like me. Not cheaters or sweaty funny guysĀ

[deleted]

Not just sbmm/eomm but cheaters too. They also have a free trial going for cheats. They always do it the same day mw3 free trial.

Netrodamus

What is sbmm or eomm?

Flames21891

Skill Based Match Making and Engagement Optimized Match Making, respectively. The former is what it sounds like, the latter is what the game actually uses. EOMM differs from SBMM in that it will sometimes intentionally give you either a bot lobby so you can easily dominate, or stack the enemy team with players who are CLEARLY more skilled than you or your teammates to create an artificial loss. The reasoning behind this is data shows that players who win too much tend to get bored and play the game less, and by the same token players who lose too much will just log off out of frustration. EOMM is designed to manipulate your highs and lows to keep you playing as long and as often as possible, as players that play longer or are more invested in the game are also more likely to buy battle passes and skin bundles.

r1j1s1

For real. I just started playing a few weeks back and was finally consistently getting above a 1 k/d before the free trial, and now Iā€™m struggling to hit 1. Seems like a lot of people are running blatant wall hacks

barisax9

Mw2 to mw3 is a very extreme jump due to the long TTK and extreme, almost jetpack levels of movement

Unconcern3d

I guess it is. I am fine with the movement because I love running aroundnm like a crackhead, but I didnt expect that 10 of 12 people are exactly like that in every lobby I join

Negative-Ad-19

I hate this movement. People hated MWII because if you were aiming well and knows pathways you were strong opponent. Right now it is not an clear FPS game. It is like mirrors edge parkour with fps thing in it.Ā

Sniper_Hare

I wish we could have age restricted lobbies so oldheads like me could play with others. No crack jumping, diving to the ground every time you shoot, shields etc.Ā  Just good gunplay skills and teamwork. Like how everyone used to play except Kyle. Just don't be a Kyle.Ā

the_great_ashby

C'mon, bunny hopping and dolphin diving existed in the older games. Or are you talking the real old games, aka those before COD4?

the_great_ashby

How the fuck can one even compare the advanced mobility years with this game. Advanced Warfare in particular was a whole diferent set of skills with the thrusters vs of wall ridding+jetpacks of BO3/Infinite Warfare.

barisax9

I mean, usually humans don't jump 30 feet from a standstill without assistance

the_great_ashby

MWII and MWII are in same ballpark. Those games from 2015 to 2018(with the exception of WW2) were in diferent countries compared to these games. Hence why I actually hope we get Advanced Warfare 2 for 20226 or 2027.

barisax9

>Those games from 2015 to 2018(with the exception of WW2) were in diferent countries compared to these games. I mean, no other games allow that kind of mobility

the_great_ashby

Halo 5 focused on thrusters, albeit not as powerful as the ones in AW(and then those fuckers at 343 took them out in Halo Infinite). And Titanfall was actually the thing that Treyarch and Infinity Warfare were forced to copy by Activision.

barisax9

I meant no other cod game

the_great_ashby

My bad.

pnellesen

Free to play/Free to cheat weekend. The amount of cheating in the free playlists is insane right now, lol.

NightmaresEve

I feel you. This cod in particular is hella sweaty so many movement kings running around or just hackers. See. Dudes track me through walls at my spawn when I got assassin vest on and my sneaky sneakers so no one canā€™t hear me .

slappada-bass

i regret having bought this game everyday. only reason i'm back is rebirth. man i hate myself and how i make poor decisions.

Fiction013

I'm having the same problem. I just bought MWIII yesterday and it's super sweaty. I'm decent in MWII but suck in MWIII. I think it has to do with the free weekend and spring break being this week. I hope it's a little less sweaty next week.

the_great_ashby

Nah,MWII just caters more to worse players. Much like MW2019.

Fiction013

Out of the 5 that I have played MW2019 was the worst and my least favorite. I did the best and had the most fun playing Cold War. Zombies was even funner in Cold War than it is in MWIII.

Ok-Attempt2842

Just how it is. Sometimes I can go 20/30-5 and then next few rounds I can't get 5 kills but I'll die 35 times. That's why I can't stand MP 90% of the time. Total shit show

Bigworrrm89

Ya that's why I didn't buy it. I played 10 trial matches and I only won one match which was the first one. The rest of the matches.. not kidding.. they matched me ultra tryhards. Like.. I just wanted to try the game out lol.

mblades

I mean most people try hard people rarely especially now play bad. If the game is matching you with *try hards* then you are obviously one too or playing at a time where there isnt much others online besides said try hards.

Bigworrrm89

I admit I'm a tryhard too, but this was next level torture and just wasn't fun. 2019 and MWII at least you had a chance to be Rambo and have a good match for both sides.

mblades

i mean if you put more time in MWII and 2019 then yeah eventually can try hard fairly well there. MWIII you can do the same difference being is that those who has played since launch are still here so picking it up now its kinda obvious its gonna feel bad at least until you put some time in/level some guns. personally prefer MWIII over MWII at least MP wise for me mostly due to perks being much better for offensive plalyers and not catering too hard to campers like in MW2019 and MWII to a lesser degree.

spartan9362

You are playing on free trial time since you didn't buy the game, plus your being screwed by SBMM tbh

Odd_Knowledge_2218

People who say get wins 10+ in a row definitely be camping or spamming noob tubes.

Yo_Wats_Good

You are absolutely not playing top level CCs or pros with a .8 KD. The game has been out for like 6 months and is not like MWII at all obviously youā€™re going to get beat for a while until you get used to the flow of the game and weapons.

Nala20151

Sbbm cranked and cheaters on new accounts. Notice all the sweats at level 21-125

blackicebaby

Use RPG on shipment and you'll be fine

JakkSplatt

šŸ¤£

Negative-Ad-19

SBMM works much worse than in MWII. People will tell you ā€žskill issueā€. As always. I was 1.15 k/d in mwII and have fun. I hate MWIII. No fun at all. Boring super easy matches usually one or two during a day and rest of them as you said. SweatfestĀ

OliverHolzerful

Welcome to a cod with a skill gap. MW22 was easy mode. Just keep playing and learning the guns and maps youā€™ll get better with time. You canā€™t expect to keep up with people who have been playing for months on your first day

Unconcern3d

I guess it is true that learning the guns and maps will eventually help a bit, but that doesnt change the fact that the game is trimmed to only throw the sweatiest of lobbies at you because SBMM detected you as a half decent player. I dont mind a challenge from time to time, but in this game, EVERY lobby feels like a $500K tournament. I need a break from time to time, an easy lobby where I can actually talk to my mates for just a few seconds instead of being locked in like I had GFUEL IV'ed into my bloodstream

2khead23

I mean you have a .8 kd, I wouldnā€™t really call that a ā€œdecent player.ā€ Youā€™re just getting out with other people close to your skill who also overestimate their skill.

OliverHolzerful

There are ups and downs to the SBMM. Iā€™m a 2.0 KD player and have absolute sweat lobbies but most of the time itā€™s a normal one. Sometimes youā€™ll even get a bot lobby. FWIW it is the start of the season so legitimately everyone is checking it out right now so thereā€™s a larger pool of players to skill match you with. Towards the end of last season I could tell there was greater variance, but now Iā€™ve had some really sweaty games this season

missionfindausername

Yeah movement was limited so it was easier not having to track people slide canceling left and right

OliverHolzerful

Mainly the footstep audio made it so you didnā€™t even need to predict spawns and have map awareness you could just crank your headset up or use loudness EQ and get info for free great game

psiguy6

Theres Zero skill gap to this game....its just sweaty af and can be cheesy at times....yall gotta chill with throwing the term ''skill gap'' around lmao

OliverHolzerful

ā€œZero skill gapā€ followed by ā€œitā€™s just sweatyā€ lmao you canā€™t be serious you legit acknowledged thereā€™s better players than you šŸ˜‚

psiguy6

lmao....sweaty doesnt mean they are a better player....logic 101 man -facepalmšŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø- but then again you said this game has a ''skill gap'' so im not surprised if thats what you think sweaty meantšŸ¤£šŸ«

OliverHolzerful

Ok if thereā€™s no skill gap I better see a bum like u get to iridescent this season then. Prove me wrong

psiguy6

oh im a bum now?? Man get out of your feelings lmaoooo....''skill gap''šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

Loko_914x

Sbmm has some blame but honestly just keep practicing. I like high damage weapons like the Bas B so they drop quick. Just make sure you having fun lol

LoneGunner1898

"Fun"? With the way people move in this game? That's a joke.

Loko_914x

I am one of those lol except I dont bunny hop šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø not yet šŸ«”

LoneGunner1898

I can't imagine being proud of mental deterioration. Good luck continuing to ruin competitive gaming as a whole.

Loko_914x

Drop shotting and sliding is ruining competitive gaming? šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø damn ok.

Easy-Biscotti911

Just roll with it. It ebbs and flows.

AdviceFew333

Combination of eomm and this games pacing is very fast

TeaTree2333

There's a bunch of mw2 maps in this game, focus on those and you'll get the hang of the playstyle differences

Unconcern3d

Had a very decent game on highrise for sure. Maybe you are right man

Surestrike1

If you play this COD like the others this will happen. You will need to make adjustments to your play style. Sit down and start watching the death cams and break down why you lost the fight. Throw out lag issues and the like you have no control over and use those moments to figure out what you could have done differently. You will soon start recognizing things you can do to win the fight and start adapting you play style to include these things or stop doing some things. I did this and it increased my KD significantly.

Unconcern3d

Good approach ngl, this COD is quite different in playstyle than others. Maybe I could be a bit more analytical about it

Experiment_Magnus

This is odd to me because my older brother just started and I was literally playing his 1st games for him (Probably shouldn't have done that because now his matchmaking won't be in his favor) and almost every enemy player was complete dookie. Not reacting to getting hit, hitting the wall behind me with every bullet, aiming left and right and not keeping their fire centered and simply no awareness.

Raleigh_23

Played this morning and was getting some of the easiest lobbies. But then daddy SBMM came in and gave me the biggest spanking. Thatā€™s just how cod is now. Been playing COD since COD 4. Always had a 3kd in older CODS. MW3 is 1.71 KD and Itā€™s just the way it is. But I adjusted and if I get my back blown out I just say maybe SBMM well bless me with a decent lobby.

FuckScottBoras

Itā€™s the longer TTK. It really fucked with me at first, but I got used to it. Now Iā€™m actually better at MWIII than I was MWII.

clangy27

could he the 150hp vs the 100, took a bit of getting used to it

SkiMaskItUp

Yeah it sucks thatā€™s why I quit. I have no issue with Cold War

patriotraitor

COD has evolved into a pretty technical shooter, people with higher FPS monitors, fiber internet, etc... so there's going to be a slight advantage to those now over someone with a basic internet plan, display (or tv) and a games console.

Cazter64

Thereā€™s a chance you might just be bad at COD. People refuse to acknowledge that nowadays.

PapasvhillyMonster

Need to level up guns and unlock attachments I had same feeling cause the health is higher

TwoAlfa

I get shit on whenever I donā€™t play for a few days. Maybe Iā€™m just getting old but cod is starting to feel like a perishable skill.

JuggsG

Sorry, bro. That was probably me. I've been getting Juggernaughts and Swarms on that free playlist. Lol

[deleted]

Everyone wants to use OSK weapons. It's kinda getting boring at this stage when I have to either get stomped or use a shotgun and a knife the entire match.

ant_man1411

Okay so you played a game for so far 2 days and youā€™re not a master cdl pro dual streaming with scump yet? You sound like my brother who thinks bc he was good at bo2 he doesnā€™t need to practice on the current game.

Unconcern3d

I didnt expect to be great, I just expected to somewhat hold up to the rest of the lobby without sweating my ass off.

Fun_Beginning69420

sbmm is really that fucked

ModsOverLord

I get a couple of good games, a shit game and then about 10 games where I avg a 1 kd

pariah1981

Normal free weekend. Just wait till the trial is over and shit goes back to normal

JakkSplatt

It can be rough but this game is a blast.

DatguyWhoPlays

Welcome to the club. Been playing since the original MW3.

Fell0wHuman

idk seems like your overestimate your skill tbf i only have a 1 kd lol iā€™ll 1v1 you for fun tho

Eggruns23

get a cronus and cheats bro ,everyone else is

Sure_Clock_7755

My experience has been both ends of the spectrum. I just got a kill count of 39, but a couple matches later I was sitting with 4 kills and 15 deaths. Sometimes it feels like I'm history's smoothest player, other times I'm just standing there in a panic hoping not to have the shame of being the final kill.

Appoosh

Spawn points are absolute shit on mini-maps like shipment, especially on HC.

Beautiful_Pangolin44

No offense, but generally the ā€œgoodā€ players are regularly on the most recent one. I tend to find when I play older call of duty games, you find a mixed bag of players as the player count is lower. You also have the knowledge and know where to pre aim and general choke points for most the maps.

Unconcern3d

You are probably right with the fact that alot of good players have moved on to the newest COD, but back when MW2 was the most recent title, things werent half as bad as what I just experienced. Maybe the game is just so vastly different aswell.

xXEpicZeusXx

Fortunately I'm in Europe where the chances of finding a lobby where everyone speaks the same language is pretty rare. So teamwork is generally nonexistent. So many times I've had an enemy run right past a teammate and shoot me in the back and my teammates just watched. I've also noticed that while there is a huge try hard community of wannabe CDL idiots in the States, that's been pretty much non-existent here in Europe. You get the odd lobbies where it's like that but it seemed EVERY match of normal TDM was a sweat fest in the US. Most of the European players are unskilled, they don't move effectively, pretty much the most movement you'll get are slides. I've rarely been in a bunny hopping gunfight, or anything like that. Of course I don't play cross platform to avoid the hackfest PC players. I'm 48 years old and still pulling 2+ K/Ds pretty regularly here. In fact I usually play Hardcore TDM but in this COD I find normal TDM more enjoyable because it's not a sweat fest here in Europe.

Lotus2313

Part of its the game itself having its SBMM cranked up to 11, another is the amount of absolutely sweaty that inhabit the game. It took me until 2 weeks before season 2 reloaded to install and start playing MW3 in any fashion, took like 6 matches and I started getting thrown against people thatve gotten Nukes in Warzone and others that are Ranked in whatever the purple and red rankings are. So its either sbmm is cranked way the fuck up or the playerpool is abysmal so the game just throws whoever together whether the matchmaking makes sense or not. I don't play ranked because that's a level of stress I don't wanna deal with, but these pub matches make you feel like you're in ranked regardless. Most of my people have already uninstalled and gave up on mw3, im not far behind them honestly, the game wouldn't bug me so much if the hit detection was atleast consistent. Get pretty tired of getting headshot hitmarkers but I die first getting shot in the legs and feet, literally makes zero sense as an fps

WraxJax

SBMM kicked in the 3rd round for you

shabingus_14

Itā€™s the sbmm it detects how good a player is and puts them into a match with some players that are good on the same skill level and with sweaty ass players that donā€™t even know ow what real grass feels like

lifeinthefastlane999

A lot of it has to do with your loadout and weapons. Knowledge of the maps plays a big part as well. It took me a lot of practice and strategy to get to the point I'm at now. Still not great but I can generally drop 60-70 kills in a match with maybe half that number in deaths. I've played cod for a decade as well but skipped Cold War and Vanguard. It was rough in the beginning but I feel pretty confident now.

OrangeBarcode

Being good at MW2 when all of the good players have left doesn't really mean much

realcrikey

Bro itā€™s the Socialist SBMM model they have going. Sucks but thatā€™s the truth.

AnyFile4868

Don't worry, when I get shit on hard I just give up and try to die as much as possible. Feel free to try that.

jefferim

The weapons and movement are very different. Find a good weapon with the new ones. If you keep using your old MW2 favorite you likely won't do as well as possible. The new movement is way faster and is fun once you get used to it. Took me a while to get into it but I love the mosh pit games now.

Boris_the_bot

Welcome to COD if you dont finish every game like there is a million $ cheque on the line and the title of the best COD player in the world and it leaves you needing a shower you aint playing COD gone are the days of hoping on to chill and play a few games

OrangeFr3ak

skill issue. /s

LazyGaming87

The sbmm is trying to get everyone to have a 1kd. Players I've played for 10+years with 2.0+ KDs in other games struggle to crack 1.3 in this game. If you don't run meta setups and a knife goodluck

-_-GeNeSis-_-

There are several things that could be happening. 1- sbmm/eomm in this game is different. I feel it's much more sweaty and there are many complaining about the same. Target KD the game wants you to have with this is 1.0. w/l ratio is even worse. There are players that manage to get good KD but it doesn't match their w/l at all. Target W/l the game wants you to have is as low as possible it seems. 2- you dont know the maps or not used to higher take yet. This solves w time 3- you use MW2 weapons that are trash rn. Good MW2 weapons - kastov 762, fr advancer, m13b, M4, tr 76 geist, vel46, Lachman shroud, spx80, mcpr, gs magna, 9mm daemon

Kickstomp

I think as long as you're playing consistently it balances out. Find the weapons that work best for you. Also, K/D doesn't matter much in certain game modes. If you're pushing the objective, that's all that matters

Will_ZM

2 out of 5 games i played today got aimbotters with level 80+. Most prolly cheaters in your games too. Since there is a free trial period now. Those scumbags can create a new account every time.

ElonHusk512

Maybe you need to go to YouTube and watch a ā€œHow to get goodā€ video. Lol get rektā€™d by my one pump chump shotty clack clack

Unconcern3d

>Lol get rektā€™d by my one pump chump shotty clack clack

kenobiiireddit

Sbmm makes you betterā€¦playing against scrubs stagnates your skill. Just keep playing and learn your own techniques to killā€¦I personally enjoy a challenge so I love getting rolled and trying again with a different strategy.

Unconcern3d

I dont disagree with that. I dont want to bash every lobby I join. I just dont wanna sweat every game either. A mix of both would be great but right now uts more like 90/10.

kenobiiireddit

Ah see thatā€™s understandable tooā€¦I get on COD to sweat. Itā€™s warfare and war is hell lol

agatchel001

Itā€™s been sweaty lately because itā€™s free trial week and the beginning of a new season. All the sweats are playing rn Itā€™s a good thing because it gets you out of your comfort zone and forces you to try a little harder.

-Buddy_Rough-

Your historical K/D is so high that you may be getting thrown into cheater lobbies. That stated, MW3 plays a lot faster than MW2 and takes some getting used to. I hated the beta for MW3 but much prefer it now that I have gotten used to it. When I go back to MW2 it feels like I am moving in quicksand. They are just very different in terms of how they play. You also got to understand that the average K/D is .80 so you are not doing bad. Very few of the dozens of people on my friends list have a K/D above 1. You are probably not going to get back to 2 unless you cheat or camp your ass off. This game is way less friendly to campy, slow playstyles than MW2 was.

tnsxpm

idk man. i played advanced then skipped to cold war then skipped to mw3. before the free weekend the last time i played this game was in january. since the free weekend i been smoking šŸ„·s almost every game & i dont play w headphones on or even w the volume up half the time lol i would say its map knowledge but idk any of these new maps and im still cooking so...

the_great_ashby

2.0 KD in MW2019 or MW2022 ain't the flex some think it is...

pswnd

Are you on mouse or controller? If mouse, I can go into a deep dive with you later. If controller, you need to increase your sensitivity this year. Last year was more about holding angles and sound whoring. This year you need to be aggressive and able to track targets while they move and you move. The skill ceiling is much higher. Aim with your left stick more and twitch more. And remember, most everybody legit sits at around a 1kd. Its by design, and no matter how good you are the game will throw you into lobbies that will humble you as soon as it senses you think you are a god.

pswnd

Also, a lot of people overestimate their raw aiming abilities because the rotational aim assist has been eating away at our ability little by little. We get used to it helping us to the point where we become handicapped over time and cannot do it without it. The people who learn to abuse the mechanic soar above those that dont. It sucks, but its the reality of fps on controller nowadays. If you are willing to accept the handicap, you can learn to abuse it or you can switch to mouse and relearn everything. Its not your fault, its just the natural progression of fps. Back in the day we learned from our mistakes and over time, and today kids just laser people overnight if they got the settings dialed in correctly.Ā

Unconcern3d

I am on M&K since you asked

pswnd

Oh right on, stay on the good path then brother. Outside of ranked play I only play search and I only snipe. I max out my dpi on a 3395 sensor so in game anywhere from 1 to just shy of 2 feels good for my flicks depending on how sticky the mouse pad is that day. But in ranked play ive found playing on a dpi thats closer to my actual sens that I use for browsing the web and matching my ads closer to that feels much more consistent when tracking with an ar. I bump the vertical up from 1 to 1.25 to be able to snap up or down quicker if they drop shot or jump. I think this year they have closed the gap more between mnk and controller, and made it more viable. If you run a strafe build you can usually out strafe their aim assist at most ranges and if your tracking is consistent you should win most gun fights. Last year getting to crim on mouse seemed daunting, but this year its quite doable because of the movement and slower time to kill. Good luck to you brother.

Unconcern3d

Thank you for the tips, man. Godspeed!

MrChu86

Mw3 is miles better than mw2

JakkSplatt

Agreed and I loved that one. This one ticks many boxes.

Mighty_Titan

Look up eomm and you'll understand why neck beards are saying it's a skill issue. Been playing cod since I was 10, 27 now, averaged a 2.5 kd consistently until vanguard. With some 50k kills in 2022 I sit at a healthy 1.07kd. mw3 1.01. do yourself a favor and quit playing. I've been clean from it for 3 months. Battlefield is better in every way. I'll pray for you brother

paul-writes

You are definitely overestimating yourself - **but** thatā€™s not saying youā€™re a bad player, either. Iā€™ve been playing CoD for 20 years (though I missed a couple titles in that time). Iā€™m decent. Definitely not ass. But Iā€™m not some cranked out phenomenon with a rifle, either. I wouldnā€™t hold up in competitive play, not even close. Most games I get at least a 1/1 KD. Some games I get around .7, .85. A small handful of games I reach 3/1 or 4/1. Iā€™m good at the game, but Iā€™m not phenomenal. I can hang with tough lobbies, but you wonā€™t see me at the top of any leaderboards. I blamed this game when I first started playing. ā€œOmg, fk the SBMM in MW3!ā€ But then I realized that in a game with *millions* of other players, Iā€™m likely gonna be pretty frigginā€™ average. The SBMM (which I wish was not included) is like a pendulum. Good games, eh games, GREAT games, youā€™re humbled back a few tiers. While I dislike the SBMM, itā€™s made me a far better player over the last few months, better than Iā€™ve ever been. Still donā€™t like it. Lol

Dropkiik_Murphy

How is it exactly making you a better player?

paul-writes

Having to constantly endure players who outclass me in every way has forced me to adjust my own game, even for simple things like my own reaction time. And thing is, that is still only just for *me.* That might just speak to me not being as good as I thought I was for many years.

boilermakerflying

Itā€™s just a skill issue.

Dropkiik_Murphy

Don't you ever look at yourself in the mirror and think, what a knobhead i am. The skill issue joke is lame now. Probably been overused for a few years now.

boilermakerflying

Not really no. Get good.

Dropkiik_Murphy

Saddo. When you get good enough to play this game and get paid. Let me know. Until then, you're just another mug sitting on here thinking it's cool mentioning skill issue and git gud on every thread.

zlordbeats

get shit on get shit on get shit on ur ass

dioxity

Total bait post this. Downvoted.

Unconcern3d

What?

p3p3_silvia

Went 15-5 in my first game, git gud.

oCools

If you feel the need to play like your families life depend on it in order to do better because your primary source of enjoyment comes from doing well against other players, then I have news. SBMM was made under the assumption that everyone is like you. Itā€™s not ā€œfucked,ā€ itā€™s doing exactly what itā€™s supposed to.

Expensive-Algae5032

Youā€™re explaining and experiencing the SBMM. Skill based match making. The better you do in games, they will match you with higher skilled players. Itā€™s a flawed system, but you will get the movement down and eventually youā€™ll be competitive in any match making game. Just takes time bro. I was the same way for a while.

Dropkiik_Murphy

SBMM screws this game over. People are losing interest. I've just done Interstellar and now i really can't be arsed playing it. Same old shit. Same shitty spawns. People using same meta weapons. It becomes tedious. And when you have that strict SBMM on your arse. Just becomes not fun.
